Insanely good coffee, amazing customer service, and very fun atmosphere. I wish I could give 6 stars.

I love the creativity of this place. It seamlessly combines a coffee shop with a bike shop, blending two essential passions in one space. The barista was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about their products. It was also great that my friend, who isn't a coffee drinker, was able to find the perfect drink for him. Although the bike shop was closed, their prices are very reasonable, so next time I'll come for both coffee and bike repairs. read more

Came with my relative who wanted a Dirty Chai drink. Such a great concept...is it a bike shop or is it a coffee shop? The rating for this is based on my nephew because I didn't order anything. The barista was so friendly and talkative and when he asked for his drink because it wasn't on the menu, she didn't blink twice...said she could make it and went to work. There are tables to sit at both inside and outside and you are definitely surrounded by a bike repair shop! He loved his drink and I did take a taste and found it creamy, sweet, and good. read more

Bikes and Beans - Traditional macchiato with the "angel wings" coffee beans. Delicious. Cool vibe inside the local bike shop. - Bike Repair/Maintenance Near Me - Boise, Idaho

Walk my bike with a flat tire all the way here. The hours listed said they are open. They said they have a private event and would not let me even leave the bike to have it prepared tomorrow. Zero star. Many other options in town. read more

Had the most delicious vanilla latte here this morning as I was waiting to pick someone up from the airport. Friendly service and open early, what more could you want? Would definitely come here regularly if I lived in the area. read more

Super helpful and knowledgeable staff! They were able to get me in the same day that I called, and fixed my bike in less than 20 minutes, good as new! The café area is a comfortable space to sit while you wait for your bike to be fixed, and the coffee is good too! Friendly staff, good service...I will definitely be back read more

I just needed a place to work for a few minutes so I decided to stop in here instead of going to the chains. That was a great idea! This was the best cup of coffee I've had in years. It was delicious, well balanced, and the barista clearly loved making it. She was very friendly and enthusiastic and it really added to the experience. I can't speak to the bike shop, but if they're working as hard on bikes as they are on coffees, this is the place to go for either! read more

I ride my commuter bike daily and thus, I need bike maintenance fairly often (plus I do dumb things that result in repair needs). This shop is a short ride from my house, which is why I chose it, and I am glad I did. It's a small, locally owned shop with a coffee shop inside. The bike service prices are reasonable, and while you might have to wait a bit longer, it's worth it. The bike mechanics are very knowledgeable and friendly. They are always helpful and great with answering my novice questions, along with an easy sense of humor. I tried the coffee last time and it was delicious. Lots of tasty bean/roast options. I am a coffee snob, so i wouldn't just say this if it wasn't meaningful. Overall, I love this shop and will continue to come back for all of my bike needs. read more

Andrew was friendly and helpful, he aired up the flat tire on my jogging stroller for free and only shamed me a little bit for not airing it up every week. Coffee was excellent, he gave personal recommendations and information about the varieties. Really cozy, interesting place that puts the Starbuck's down the street to shame. read more

What a great espresso cafe! What a great bike shop! We found them on Google Maps while visiting Boise and wanting a great cup of coffee. Great coffee, lovely, friendly, knowledgeable staff attending the coffee and the bikes (and bike repair and service!) Reasonable prices. All good. And to top off our good experience there, we visited their neighbors in the little shopping center, a German deli. read more

They would not honor my restaurant , com coupon giving me some flimsey excuse. they did give me a free disgusting gorrible americano. My wifes coffee also was a mocha and was not good the owner or manager was so monotone and unfriendly. This guy was beyond boring. The food was limited and i sat next to a bike repair area. read more

Neat concept--coffee shop meets bike repair/part shop. I got a bike serviced here, and they were able to address the issues as well as inform me about what needed fixing and why. The technician even went the extra mile and tweaked other little things on the bike, which I greatly appreciated. The return time was magnificent, with just a day of turn around. Their coffee shop space is neat as well, and I appreciate how both parts of the whole are so integrated with each other. However, they served pretty basic drinks with lackluster taste... will definitely return for any and all bike services in the future, but not so much for their coffee bar. read more

Drinks here are great! Love the multiple choices of single origin beans. Super friendly. I would simply advise to make this a stop in and take it to go rather than sit and staying a while. Here's why, the bike side of the house has a dents in smell that overcomes the coffee. That said, I'm just not used to the mechanical side of things. If that's your jam, go for it. Great spot. read more

Bikes and Beans - Bike Repair/Maintenance Near Me - Boise, Idaho

I thought--Bikes and Beans? What? Is this like one of those gas stations that sells live bait? Why do two seemingly disparate things? However, Bikes and Beans sold me on the fact that they could do at least one of the two things they advertise really, really well. I don't know about their bicycle services, since I haven't used them, but I have tried their beans, and they are absolutely on point where it comes to coffee. When I ordered I was impressed that they offered four different espresso varieties and I could choose what my drink was made of. Each espresso was labeled with tasting notes, so I could find my preference based on that. None of the other shops in Boise that I know of offer such a detailed level of customization. After that, the barista made me a lovely americano from my espresso. The espresso was perfect--rich, sweet, and smooth, and I could taste the chocolate and fruit that was promised in the description. Despite being high-quality espresso, the price for my drink was the same as I've paid at other local shops. The menu here is like everywhere else, with espresso beverages and brewed coffees. They didn't seem to have a huge number of flavored drinks or complicated blended drinks, which was fine with me, but if that's your preference you might want to go elsewhere. For food, they had some light pastries, and their muffins and bagels looked pretty good. I don't think they're baked in house, but the barista said they're fresh. The seating area here is large and mixed with both tables, a broad sofa, and cozy chairs. They were playing an excellent playlist and I have to say that I'd come back for the music alone. They offer some games for kids and a little lending library, which is a nice touch. In the back there is an area for bike tuning, and I think they might sell some bikes, but I ignored that while I was focusing on my amazing americano. Definitely check this place out. There's easy parking, and it's in a coffee desert on Vista. The barista here was very friendly and welcoming as I came in, so you'll feel like you're right at home when you arrive. read more

Phenomenal environment and positive staff. The owner really knows his coffee. If you enjoy a proper cup of coffee or incredibly pulled delicious espresso shots ... this is the place for you. Also, I really appreciate their environmentally friendly cups and lids. That's a big deal! read more

Helpful bike mechanics. I walked in with a wheel they fixed right away. Pretty cool to get a coffee while waiting.

I couldn't recommend this business enough. I first went to Bikes and Beans to have my bike tuned up. They were friendly, efficient and had competitive prices for maintenance. As a self-deceived espresso snob, I have to say that I was shocked at the quality of the coffee/espresso in this place. Not just that, but they have fresh ground beans on the counter you to smell before making your choice. It is a bit clunky looking from the outside, but plenty of fun seating inside. Whether you are a cyclist or not, this place is one of the absolute best baristas in town. It's up there with Slow by Slow and Neckar. read more

Andrew and the people at Bikes and Beans have been fantastic! Bikes and coffee obviously go well together. Bike people are obsessed with quality and this espresso bar passed all expectations. First the barrista Graze was extremely friendly and helpful and had me sniff which coffee I got to choose out of four. I got a delicious perfectly made macchiato from Ethiopian dambi udo beans. First time in Boise passing through from Seattle and this coffee place made me so happy. Plus you get to geek out on cool bikes!!! read more

I brought my bike and my friends bike for service. I needed to get my bike taken care of pretty quickly because I was taking it to Hawaii for rides. In other occasions I have had their coffee, I enjoy it every time and they always have good suggestions if you're not sure what to have. Come in for coffee! If you have one, bring your bike! Hate to do this to a small business but I had a really crappy experience here. Not the place to get your bike serviced. I went in with an extremely simple request and that is for them to switch my bike tires. Was told that'd be 30$. More expensive then what I'm used to paying but I said fine since boise gear collective is closed now. I can only pick my bike up after 4 pm and since they close at 6 and I came in at 5:30, I said I could pick it up the next day around the same time. I arrive a little early at 4:30 the next day. My bike had not been serviced and the men working had no idea what I wanted to do to my bike. I explained I want my tires switched, I had left 2 sets of tires with them. They proceeded to mansplain the difference between each of my tires and that the tires already on there are better then the ones I want to switch them to, unless of course I want a faster ride. Funny part is, that's exactly what I do want! So I say have a good day, thank you for your time and I leave with my bike and my tires. Thank you for the info that I didn't ask for and already realized, I will be taking my business elsewhere. Good luck. Some suggestions on how to improve to leave this post on a positive note: Set expectations as far as how long the service will take. Communicate with your associates/team members. Have notes you can refer to on job request. Set fair pricing. Understand customer needs so you can meet them in a timely manner. Respectful, if no one asks, no need to mansplain. read more

Awesome local bike shop. Pros: local, always quick service, good coffee. Cons: seems a little spendy.

Haven't tried their coffee or food this review is only about their bike shop in the back. BEWARE. I popped my tube in my tire and there was a puncture in my tred too so I got a a new set of wheeeelz at bike and beans. $210 later, took my bike out of my car, walked it up my driveway and boom. Hissing coming from my front wheel. Not to mention the tube "sealant" inside the tube was just leaking out and not sealing. So glad I spent the extra money. Tried to take it back to bike and beans and they said nope. You can buy new ones again or go somewhere else. Do not go here. Go to REI since they at least have return/fix policy. read more

Great coffee and great people. One stop for bike needs and coffee. There was a great vibe in this place.

Went in for 2 break adjustments with the back breaks on two different bikes. Took 2 weeks to complete after calling a few times for them to get to it. Upon arrival they did all breaks on both the bikes making them worse than before where you could pull the break down to the handlebar plus some and scratched up the bike up and down. When asked why they charged me for both breaks they said that's standard so $180 for both bikes just for breaks and they refused to refund and said they would fix the breaks right then and there and admitted they were awful. The owner approached me and said he would pay for the electronic display that was scratched up. then failed to do so after time and time again saying he forgot and eventually stopped responding 5 months later. Slow and untrustworthy business. read more
