As far as dive bars go the Huddle is one of our favoitest places to hang out. It's dark and it seems busy no matter what day or time you are there. The drinks are cheap and the bartenders are all friendly. This is one of the only bars still around that allows smoking inside. I'm not a smoker, but I still thought that was pretty cool. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and there is always some good people watching. read more

So I came here a while ago with a friend. I'm from Northern California and I'm always complaining about how stuck up people are around here, but I was so surprised by how nice the crowd was here. I was smoking outside by myself and found myself in endless conversations. Once I came back into the bar, my friend asked me how I liked the place. I went on tell him how friendly people were. I said "look watch," and walked up to a random. Needless to say, we ended up hanging out with them for the rest of the night. Great experience, lovely crowd, perfect lighting, reminds me of home. I am new to the area and found the huddle through Yelp. My friend and I decided to check it out for a cocktail on a Saturday night, one cocktail turned into an all night event. we had the best time. The vibe was good the drinks were strong. Bartenders were all very friendly and can't forget the door man. He was just the greatest! I can't wait to come back. Its as close to a rocker bar i can get in cali. cheap booz good tunes and chill people. there is a guy there who also claims to be the original Marlboro man. The last time I went here was a few years back.. Drinks are strong! Love it! The dart board is popular here, so is the jukebox. At first glance this bar seems kind of like a dive, but once you get in, it's pretty cool. The pool tables are first come, first served, and operate on quarters. If the table is full, you can place a quarter and challenge the winner. It's sort of intimidating, but the people seem cool. It's a good local dive bar with an ample amount of pool tables. Drinks are reasonably priced and there are plenty of televisions to catch your favorite game. Unlike a lot of other places on the block they have enough parking which is key for this area. I would definitely come back for a dive bar scene. read more

This is a chill bar with an eclectic patronage. I'm new to the area and was looking for a new pool hall. They have around 10 tables (I didn't count) but they were taken all night. Would've been nice if they organized the usage but it's a low maintenance scene with Quarter tables so I can't complain. They also had darts - two boards right next to each other, not sure if you could have two games simultaneously that close. Oh yeah and there was a foosball table too. The Huddle is a solid four-star establishment of it's kind. Beverages are served quickly at the bar. There are a variety a places to sit and activities to partake in. Fully half of the bar is taken up with pool tables, along with a few pinball machines and a couple of electronic dart boards. Clientele was definitely there to hang out, not to party, get rowdy, or impress. The chill vibe was accentuated by the range of ages and styles in the place. They also had a TouchTunes jukebox, which my husband and I enjoyed until someone got tired of our music and put on a bunch of songs ahead of us using the app (if you don't know, TouchTunes jukeboxes have a cool app that lets you pay for and play songs). We walked over here from a nearby spot and headed somewhere else afterwards, so you can make a night of it in this corner of the OC and check out some vastly different hang-out spots. Understand that you are not getting high-end service here, and you will be completely fine in jeans and a t-shirt. One of the best bars in OC. Five or six beers on tap; cheap PBR, the requisite hef, and an IPA allow for variety. A bigger selection of bottled beers and hard liquor keep the bartenders busy when the bar starts to fill up, allowing the bar patrons to find whatever drink they came looking for. 8 or 9 coin operated pool tables sporting calm blue felt tops, 2 electronic dart boards, a Golden Tee, and a punching bag game sit against a wall while a bar top touch screen video game sits at the corner of the bar. Pool tables galore, cheap drinks and friendly folks. I visited for the first time last night and I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that I could order wine! They had a decent bottle of BV Coastal for only $4! I am far too light weight to drink hard alcohol, so finding a bar with cheap, tasty wine is a big plus for me. I come by a couple of times a week to shoot pool. Lots of tables and some new-ish equipment. You can smoke inside here! Nice faciltiy, friendly bartenders, darts, jukebox, etc. Stays pretty empty until later at night. The owner is one of the coolest guys around as well. read more

Will never go back for a few reasons. First, they allow smoking inside until 6:30 or 7pm so you're guaranteed to walk away smelling gross, with a headache (if you're a non-smoker). Second, if you're not a Huddle regular, plan on being snubbed and feeling out of place. I couldn't finish my beer fast enough. Positives to The Huddle: cheaper beer than other bars, they have touch tunes (although you can expect medal to be playing 95% of the time) and they have Big Buck Hunter. Pretty Awesome place. I've been coming here for 4 years. The only thing that could make it better is happy hour. As others have said, Very divey, very odd characters at time, but also a place you can stumble into at 2:00 PM and find drunk people. So its cool in its own way. Lots of small pool tables, no one is serious there and people are very approachable. The owner is probably the only bar owner in the OC who is happy with his job and loves what he does. So that helps if you need to go to him for something. (stuck pool ball, whatever) Great for a night out with the guys to sip drinks, play pool, catch up, etc. Not good for singles unless youre 35+, although the demographic seems to be getting younger each time I come back. The bar tenders are friendly, but some are possibly of the slowest I've ever seen. Get that pitcher, guys! Also, I haven't seen the sign lit in the past year++ so don't depend on it to find this place. read more

I like the guy "Vik's" review...so funny. I've been to the Huddle so many times and know just about all of the staff and everyone of them is very chill and cool, unless, you give them an attitude or are rude to them. So when he says the bartender was on drugs or something, he's the one who must have said something to upset her and as for the bald old man who is there trying to make sure patrons are kept safe, I know for a fact, he's not confrontational unless people are getting confrontational with him or starting trouble. None of the people there have an attitude unless an attitude is given to them...SO F*%^IN funny what that guy had to say about the staff. And his female friend who got called a whore, I guarantee she said something first and had it coming. read more
