What a beautiful property! I came here to enjoy the spa at Hotel Hershey. I've learned so much about this property just from reading reviews on Yelp. And what a Gem. The staff provide wonderful customer service. I've only run into one employee that was rude. And maybe it was just a bad day for her. They have so much to offer on this property alone. I'd suggest doing a little research before staying. You can miss out unless you ask. I had a wonderful stay at the spa and was able to use the hotel's as if I was a guest here myself. The one thing I'd like to try when I come back are their trails. It was raining pretty hard when I came so I missed out. Overall, I feel pampered and relaxed. read more

Hotel Hershey is an awesome historic hotel and a great venue for a stay. All amenities on site are fabulous. Our stay was the newest concept at the Villas, just behind the Hotel. It includes the Concierge lounge and it was a hit. We enjoyed every restaurant and amenities on site. The spouse did an entire Spa day and was happy. The highlight of the stay was the Staff, everyone made our stay pleasant. Shout out to guest services, shuttle bus for the AACA swap meet, the professionals at all the restaurants and bars through out the properties, We will be back in the future. read more

This historic hotel is haunted. Yes! It's true! It is a gorgeous hotel with comfortable amenities and good staff, but you might encounter an unwelcome guest in your room. I stayed for a special solo birthday get away for my 42nd birthday. I included a trip to their amazing spa to get a cocoa facial. Such a wonderful treat and warm, welcoming staff in the Spa, but beware Room 924 is haunted! I was woken up at 2:30 a.m. with a temperature drop in the room and the entity calling me, "Mommy." It was terrifying. Sorry, no paranormal discounts at a 4 star hotel, but I did get my room switched. Bring your holy water and stay away from the room and the adjoining room next to it. The food was wonderful at Trevi 5 and the Chef's Market cafe has a delicious selection of gourmet treats, coffee and grab and go food. Don't forget to try a signature chocolate martini each restaurant has their own. read more

We had the most fantastic time at the Hotel Hershey. What a lovely hotel! I don't know where to begin. First, the hotel is gorgeous. We especially loved the older lobby. Also, they have the most amazing restaurants and we especially loved the Iberian Lounge. Our room was so cozy and comfy and the grounds are stunning. We lucked out by having warm weather in February and were able to sit outside on the upstairs balcony and took walks around the ponds. If we are ever in the area again, we'll be back! This was my first visit here and this is an absolutely GORGEOUS hotel!! STAFF: Complimentary valet parking. Staff at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. Check-in was quick and easy with ID and a credit card! You also receive a Hershey bar per person upon check-in. Let the indulging begin!! Every staff member we encountered greeted us with a hello and a smile or "do you need help with anything?" Staff here is very customer oriented and it shows. ROOM: We had a room with two very comfortable queen size beds and it was VERY clean. If you go to the Hershey Hotel website and click on "Accommodations" the rooms look EXACTLY like they are pictured! It had a Keurig coffee maker, fridge and safe. The bathroom was typical and had chocolate mandarin body soap/shampoo (which smelled amazing)! You are in the land of chocolate here so expect to see/eat/smell a lot of it!!! Nice size closet with a light that comes on when opened and plenty of hangers. Also two comfy bathrobes for your use while there. Nightly turn down service if you are interested. Elevators are small and can be very slow if it's a busy time. We took the stairs most of the time except for when we had our luggage with us. FOOD: We attended an event here, so this review isn't about a particular restaurant inside the hotel. But this is where they out-do themselves! Food was absolutely outstanding, as were the chefs that served it. We ate so much and there was nothing we had that we didn't like. The desserts were incredibly indulgent and so hard to resist (I didn't)!! All I can say about the food here is WOW. We did have breakfast one morning at the Circular restaurant. It was your typical breakfast buffet--create-your-own omelet station, Belgium waffles, fruit, granola, cereal, muffins, different meats, potatoes, etc and it was satisfactory. Service was very good here as well. SPA: I had the 50 minute cocoa massage (where they basically use a lightly chocolate scented massage oil) and while I can't say it was the absolutely best massage I ever had, it was pretty good. There is a quite room where you can "hang out" and enjoy a good book or just to relax. They also have a steam room and aromatherapy room. You also have use of the pool and hot tub. Near the spa they also have some gift shops that have a lot of neat items for purchase. Make sure to check it out! MISC: Incredible views from this hotel. Especially on a sunny Fall day. Lots of places to sit and relax and enjoy. This is also close to everything Hershey has to offer--only about a 1/2 mile from Hershey Park, Hershey Gardens (is a little closer), and a few miles from downtown Hershey where there is an immense amount of history to learn about. There is an ATM inside the hotel--PNC Bank and its conveniently located around the corner from the check-in desk. We stayed at the Villas. It was my Daughter and my granddaughter and I and we had a villa with 2 queen beds. We highly recommend the Villas. The bathrooms had with a wonderful large bathtub to soak and a separate shower. Very luxurious. The villa concierge with drinks, snacks and deserts free throughout the day was so nice. Jill who worked at the concierge showed such excellence in customer care by answering all our questions, set up reservations for dinners and was such a kind enthusiastic caring person. She goes far above and beyond and made our experience one we will never forget. We will definitely come back. We would also like to mention Trevi 5 resteraunt. Excellent service and yummy Italian dishes. Brian was our server the 1st night we ate there and was OUTSTANDING! Ask for his area. We also had Lisa the 2cd night and she was also fabulous. My family stayed in the cottages, which will be the majority of this review. The cottage was 4 rooms, 3 of which had double Queens and 1 with a king. The queens felt small, almost close to a full I don't know if I'm losing my mind or if they were actual full beds. The bedrooms were large but awkwardly arranged, our TV and stand were thrown into a corner, if we had people on both beds. Only one could watch the TV. The bathrooms were large and beautiful. The great room which was the selling point for us booking this, was nice but a fireplace that didn't work, a TV shoved into a corner very awkwardly again. And a minimal stocked kinda kitchen area. You need a larger waste basket, actual silverware, wine glasses, a wine opener, a bottle opener. The room would also benefit from a large fridge. The resort is very big, we ended up driving to areas of the resort because of the size. The cottages are walking distance to the pool but a drive to the main building and shuttle area. The pool was a kids dream. The adult pool needed the same heated water as the kids pool. Maybe I am crazy but it felt a few degrees cooler. The food shack and drink shack were quick but again could benefit from having pool service. Overall I liked the hotel and would recommend it. With a few improvements I mentioned above I think it would of been a game changer. read more

I stayed 1 night at this hotel for a personal trip. I paid for the trip myself, full price, no points used. It was the first time at this hotel, not my first time to Hershey. Covid Related There don't seem to be any special instructions related to housekeeping or anything at check in. It appears to be business as usual. Location Very easy to find using Waze, lots of signage as you get close to Hershey. Room I had room 401 with 1 king bed, away from the elevators (my preference). The room is on the small side, but there's a lot of furniture in here and it's clean. The extra pillows I asked for were in the room when I arrived. The bathroom is a separate room with a sink, toilet and bathtub/shower. There is really no space on the counter for your stuff. I moved their stuff to the floor and used the space for my stuff. I made it work. There are very large closet, with a light inside, extra pillow and blanket. A full length mirror on the outside of the door and a large mirror over the desk. Two bathrobes. There is a Keurig machine in the room, so if you like Keurig, you can bring your own pods. Powdered creamer though, so that's a bummer. The windows have curtains so I carrying binder clips with me to keep them closed enough to get a really dark room. HVAC is really noisy but the A/C works well. Hotel Staff The hotel staff I interacted with were all very pleasant and helpful. When I first arrived (at 3pm which is check in) I could not find a bellman or a cart, but one appeared once I got my stuff into the lobby, so all was well. Check In/Check Out I don't believe there is any type of app or online check in, you have to go to the desk (but then you can't get your chocolate bar on an app ;o). Check out can be done by text. They sent me a text the morning of checkout with instructions. Parking There is plenty of free, unassigned self-parking in front and on the side of the building. No parking passes needed and they did not ask for my car information at check in. There is also valet available. Since it wasn't very crowded, I was able to find a spot close to the entrance. Lobby The lobby is large. They had various fresh flowers in vases on the center table when I arrived. Every thing is grand with antique style furniture. GPS/Cell Phone/Internet/Business Services Hotel internet was great for work and personal stuff. No issues connecting or doing work. No issues with cell phone signal (Verizon) and Waze works perfectly. Pool There is a decent sized indoor pool with towels and a lifeguard. Restaurants Because it's mid-week and off season, only one restaurant was open today for lunch and dinner, so not a lot of variety. In listening to other guests, it seems like they open different restaurants on different nights for people staying more than one day. Breakfast Breakfast is in the Circular. Since it was off season, it was not buffet, so you ordered off the menu. It was excellent. read more

The Hotel Hershey is an absolutely amazing Hotel in the heart of Hershey. The hotel was built in the 1930's under the construction of Milton Hershey. The hotel was actually modeled after an Egyptian Hotel that Hershey saw on a post-card. During my most recent stay I stayed in the newly built cottages that are along the woods. However, they have plenty of traditional hotel rooms available. Both the cottages and hotel rooms are spacious with large beds and giant modern bathrooms. The rooms also have both TVs and great views. For example, the traditional hotel rooms gives you a great view of either the gardens behind the hotel or the town of Hershey. The cottages contain porches that allows you to see the woods and experience nature. The hotel also has plenty of commodities including an indoor pool and an outdoor pool with a water-slide. The outdoor pool also has a hot-tub, cabanas for rent and a pool devoted to just adults! They also have a plaza devoted to games for the families. Those include ping-pong, bean-bag toss, bucket-stack and foosball! Ping-pong was my personal favorite and was pretty popular among families. There is also a courtyard in the back with beautiful shrubbery as well as ponds with koi fish! Activities in the hotel are frequently offered. Those include chocolate bingo and gold with glow-in-the-dark balls! The hotel also has a variety of delicious restaurants including the famous Circular, Harvest and Trevi 5. They also have a coffee-shop known as Cocoa Beanery and a place to pick up baked goods called Sweets. The hotel also has a business center, gym and spa on the hotel's property. The staff here is also great! Frank the bell-hopper is polite and great have a conversation about Hershey with. The concierges here are also kind and help you with anything you need. There is also a complimentary chauffeur service, which I have used before. Two chauffeurs Fritz and Lynn are very good! Literally a fairytale on earth. The grounds are immaculate, the accommodations are luxe, and the staff treat you with so much kindness you want to reach out and give everyone a hug. I'm lowkey tearing up right now because I wish I was back. I stayed here for a work conference and felt like a princess from check-in to checkout. The interior is reminiscent of a historic castle with a lovely modern flair that demonstrates the pristine upkeep of the property. Upon walking around the grounds of the property, you'll quickly discover just how gorgeous it is. The fountains, the pool(s), the nature...even the basketball court...it was seriously so beautiful, calm and relaxing. I felt so much peace just by sitting out by the water and listening to the wind. My room was just as lovely. I slept so good I didn't want to get up - but I had to, as I had to lead a team presentation. I'm not sure how this place is during the 'peak' seasons, but for the time I spent here in early May, I would definitely return - and enjoy recreating my fairytale life again. read more

Impeccable! From check in to check out. This is a not to be missed five star experience that will impress. Our concierge "Andrea", was so pleasant and accommodating. She provided my daughter and I with private transportation to chocolate world without hesitation. This was due to last minute scheduling on my part. Our hotel chauffeur "Jim" was outstanding and friendly. His pleasant demeanor and professionalism made our day. Both of these individuals are true ambassadors of the historic Hotel Hershey. The hotel itself is spotless clean and very well maintained. The pool staff, lifeguards and even the engineering staff were friendly, outgoing and pleasant. Very convenient five minute complimentary shuttle ride to Hershey-park. They drop you right outside the front gate. One hour early admission for HH guests. Great benefit! The Hotel Hershey is one of the best hotels I've been to. Every time my family and I go we have a great time. We still haven't even scratched the surface of everything there is to do either. There are plenty of places to walk and there are beautiful trees everywhere. There are also a variety of places nearby to visit. One of our favorite places near the hotel is the botanical gardens, which is a quick walk from the hotel. This is a beautiful place with a variety of trees, flowers, and various plants to observe. There is also a zoo nearby that has a variety of North American animals including wolves. During the last summer we spent some time at the pool area where you can rent a cabana and relax all day. Food service is readily available at these cabanas. Our favorite restaurant is The Harvest, which has fresh locally grown food. Room service is also quite good if you decide you don't want to eat out. The Hotel Hershey also has a variety of activities available including falconry and sports. They have a tennis court readily available as well as a basketball court and a volleyball court. The rooms are also very nice and bright with updated televisions and all the expected amenities. This is a hotel that my family and I have been to for nearly twenty years and we've witnessed how it has been renovated. It used to feel pretty old, but has been well-renovated and brought up to date. Also, there is chocolate everywhere and you can even find it in the soap! I believe that The Hotel Hershey is a great place for anyone to experience and I highly recommend visiting this hotel. My family and I will definitely be back. read more

Large noisy, beeping construction crane outside the rooms starting at 7:45am. Not really a luxury experience. Disappointing.

As you may have read in my previous review, my stay at The Hotel Hershey was phenomenal when I visited the last time. Well, this time, sadly, The Hotel Hershey missed the mark expected of a 5-star hotel. This time when I visited, I noticed the tap was running slowly. I called the front desk, and maintenance promptly came and adjusted its water flow. It seemed to me that the shut off valve was turned down for some odd reason (until I had to call to get it adjusted). As for the room, sheets, pillows, bathroom, floor, etcetera, all were clean and smelt fresh, as expected. The only issue I have here is the tissue. You see, I use a lot of tissues, and when the only box, which was in the bathroom, became empty, I called front desk for some. They said someone will be there shortly. It took them 2 hours and 3 calls for them to bring a single box of tissue. As a reminder, I should reiterate that this is a 5-star hotel, so better service is clearly expected. Room service was partially okay in terms of meals ordered. The food was very tasty overall, and the kitchen appeared to have no problems as was evident by the high quality of the food. The only issues I have here is that I ordered a late night pot of hot chocolate, and had to make it myself as it was delivered to me in the form of a pot of hot water, and a few satchels of hot chocolate. If I pay $720 a night, clearly I don't intend to mix my own hot chocolate (I paid ~$70 for that late night meal as well). Even at Starbucks, they mix the drink for you! By the way, the $720 a night is another major problem. When I booked the reservation over the phone, the reservation agent said: "That'll be one thousand fifty for two nights". I thought: "Still expensive, but okay." So, I told her to book the room. After she ran my card, I asked her: "How much did you run that for?" She said: "One thousand four hundred forty." Since the deal was non-refundable as it was within the 3 day cancellation window, I was stuck with a reservation that I clearly overpaid for, and for which I got tricked by the reservation agent. To add insult to injury, the parts above where The Hotel Hershey missed its mark on a few occasions is what made me now think that they claim to be 5-star, but they try to see how far they could get by with mediocrity. If this behavior is undetected or remains unchecked, I think they will continue to do the same for as long as they could. Upon checkout, I stated my complaints to the front desk and told them to mail me a sincere letter of apology if they'd like my business again. A week after my unhappy stay at The Hotel Hershey, I received a nice letter of apology, and the card to speak to the General Manager if needed. The Hotel Hershey needs to improve on a lot of fronts, including but not limited to, front desk sincerity, attention to detail, and up front transparency of prices at reservation time. All in all, I would like to visit The Hotel Hershey again, but only after I am assured that I will not be wasting my money by paying for 5-star treatment, and then receiving 3-star treatment instead. By the way, if you're poor or middle-class and saved up to stay here, don't bother wasting your money. The chances are high that you will be treated like a discarded chocolate wrapper by some of the judgemental staff. On the other hand though, some of the staff are very nice. The question is: "Would you squander your hard-earned savings on a gamble?" read more

Update (Apr 2023): recently stayed on the property at the WOODSIDE cottages. It was pricey but worth it and so much nicer than the standard rooms in the main hotel. I had to update my review to reflect my stay at the cottage as I was impressed. The cottage was clean and spacious. It was so nice and convenient to have parking right outside your doorstep. The area is also very peaceful and quiet. We even saw deer in front of the cottages. We were there during Easter weekend. Easter Sunday we were surprised with a basket of goodies left outside our door. Our 6 year old was so happy that the "Easter Bunny" found us at Hershey. We would most definitely stay here again when we revisit Hershey Park. read more

We stayed there last year and, overall, had such a nice time that I wanted to stay there again when we were in town visiting family. Staff is very nice and the grounds are gorgeous in an old luxury hotel way. They offer candy bars on check in and free waters in the room. We decided to leave after one night because 1) the rooms seem smaller as our daughter gets older 2) we decided to avoid the celebration of candy (our 3 year old is on the cusp of discovering candy but we've been able to delay it a bit) and 3) there were a few safety hazards we want to avoid. Our daughter loves stairs and there are plenty but that would be okay. But on the second floor around the patio, the slats are so wide, I think a small child could fall through the metal. I took a picture to include. The food we got at the lounge to take to the room the night we arrived was delicious. We had salmon, salad, burrata and focaccia bread. In the morning, I has an amazing cinnamon chip scone. read more

Our experience here was quite nice. Everyone we encountered from the front desk, to the employees in the shops were quite friendly. Our room was small but comfortable and decorated quite nicely. I loved the selection of spa toiletries. I feel the need to give this review four out of five stars because of the quality of the room service food. It wasn't cheap and not worth the price we paid. The vegetarian nachos were among the worst we ever had. The cheese was cold and hard and there was no sour cream. The "Spa water" was just Dasani at $3 a bottle. The wings and fries were good but the club sandwich we had was just okay. Everything came presented nicely though and even had a little vase of fresh flowers on the table. The garden area was beautiful! I was bummed to not be able to see any of the Koi in the pond but it still made for a nice stroll after dinner. The indoor pool area was also nice. I enjoyed spending time in the hot tub, although it could stand to be a few degrees warmer. Also many of the lockers didn't work in that area. The staff at the pool didn't offer any help but instead continued to watch me try to operate locker after locker. The lockers in the womens locker room at the fitness center also had this problem. I will say though the sauna there is quite nice and the gym is very well equipped. I am pretty well traveled and their fitness center is nicer than many other high end hotels I have been to. We will definitely be returning to this hotel. It was a peaceful and romantic getaway for us. read more

I needed a nice getaway for my children and I that offered amenities that we would all enjoy. We were in awe at the grandeur of the hotel when we drove up the hill. The grounds are immaculate. Upon check in we received chocolate which was a nice start for my children. My one regret was not reserving a suite as the rooms are cozy for 3 and the beds seem more like full sized. This is the only con. I needed a refresh and wanted my children to have fun. It was nice to have everything in one place. The hotel had daily activities for children from bingo to smores. We all enjoyed the indoor pool and loved being able to not drive to restaurants. The Circular is great for brunch-loved the chocolate bread pudding. The Iberian Lounge has a beautiful pretzel presentation and the game room was a nice escape for the children. Definitely make restaurant reservations and review your welcome package. For example I paid for tickets to the museum and I had free tickets in my welcome package. Loved the bath products! Also loved the text concierge. From Anthony the driver making us feel like MVP to requesting more towels-the text concierge was a useful bonus!! In all, the price was worth it and we will return when the weather is warmer! read more

We were in need of a little getaway, and decided to escape to the beautiful Hotel Hershey for a few days. After arriving at the Harrisburg airport (the airport nearest Hershey), we were met by the Hotel Hershey driver, who offered assistance with our luggage and escorted us to the car. We were picked up in a Mercedes-Benz sedan and were given bottled water for the ride to the hotel, which was only about 20 minutes. We found this option to be much more comfortable and relaxing than using a ride share service, but please note that it comes at a charge of $30/person each direction, and must be booked in advance with the hotel concierge. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were warmly greeted by the doormen and front desk staff, and were able to 'pre check-in,' as our room was not quite ready. The ability to get all of the check in tasks done at once is very convenient, as it eliminates the need to come back to the front desk once your room is ready. They go ahead and give you your room keys and welcome packet (which includes a full size Hershey bar in your choice of milk or dark chocolate), and then when your room is ready they text you a welcome message with your room number. We decided to use this downtime to visit Hershey's Chocolate World, where we had lunch and purchased some candy to take back home. The hotel concierge (specifically Kyle is who we dealt with) is very friendly and helpful in arranging complimentary transportation to nearby restaurants/attractions. Also, our driver Steve was so pleasant and very prompt in driving us to and from dinner at an offsite restaurant. We very much enjoyed the great conversation with him during the ride too! We found the hotel to be charmingly historic, beautiful, and extremely clean. Both the exterior and interior areas were tidy and well kept. We stayed in one of the larger premium king bed rooms in the main tower, and it was just the right amount of space. There was a sofa, chair, and coffee table placed in the center of the room in front of the tv armoire; a nice area to relax or enjoy in-room dining. The king bed was oh-so-comfortable and was outfitted with plush linens and a warm down duvet. The bathroom, while not extremely large, was well laid out and very clean. The bathroom was also stocked with The Hotel Hershey's signature body products in a delightful 'chocolate mandarin' scent. Yum! Housekeeping was very attentive and left our room sparkling clean each day, also providing us with plenty of fresh towels. We opted to visit the Spa at The Hotel Hershey to try a couple of their treatments, and we were not disappointed. After being welcomed by their friendly spa reception staff, our male spa attendant, G, provided us with a tour of the facility and got us situated with lockers, robes and slippers. He also checked in with us throughout the day to see if we needed anything; impeccable service! We enjoyed a mojito massage in the morning, took a break to soak in the hot tub for a while, and then enjoyed lunch (in our robes) at the Oasis, their cafe inside the spa facility. It was a light fare lunch, served buffet style, with a nice selection of soup, salads, proteins, and of course desserts. After lunch we were scheduled for a gentleman's pedicure, which used cocoa infused products, and was quite a relaxing treat! Our massage therapists, Pam and Matt, as well as our nail technicians, Jewel and Caitlyn, were all professional, friendly, and delivered top notch services. The spa facility is a beautiful, elegant, and comfortable atmosphere with many tucked away areas to relax and enjoy their complimentary snacks, tea, or their delicious (best I've ever had!) hot cocoa. A wonderfully relaxing place to spend your day! We had dinner at their Italian restaurant, Trevi 5. Located just off the fountain lobby, it is a cozy and lively venue featuring modern Italian dishes and decadent desserts. Our favorite spot to end each evening before returning to our room was the Iberian Lounge. With its oversized cozy furniture, extensive woodwork, and huge, beautiful fireplace, its the perfect setting for a nightcap. We tried a few different cocktails, but I would most definitely recommend their signature Hershey's Kiss Martini! It is deliciously smooth and a must try for anyone who enjoys a martini. Overall, our first stay at The Hotel Hershey was a wonderful experience. There's something almost magical about the atmosphere of the hotel, as it is a combination of elegant decor and indulgent experiences. From the friendly staff, to the special little touches such as bowls of Hershey's candy placed throughout the hotel's public areas just for guests to enjoy! So this hotel is unique and unusual and that in itself makes you in for a special treat. It is a historic hotel built in 1933 and has the special AAA Four Diamond designation. Every year, AAA reviews over 28,000 hotels and only 5.9% are approved for the Four Diamond designation. The Hotel Hershey has received this designation since 1980. A Four Diamond hotel is refined and stylish, providing upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail. The hotel is in the hills overlooking HersheyPark. The park was closed during my visit, but I imagine you can probably hear the excitement and activity from the hotel during the summer. Upon arrival, you are greeted by a doorman who opens the door for your entrance into the beautiful and spacious lobby. At the check-in counter you are given a choice of dark or milk chocolate bars when receiving your room key and instructions. Your room key has your name stay dates printed on it. We had a double queen room on the second floor of the hotel. The room was small but well appointed with a fridge, coffee maker, desk, robes, separate bathroom. The linens were plush and clean. There is a turn down service that removes the bedding not needed for the night and includes Hershey's kisses placed on the bed. In the bathroom, all of the toiletries are chocolate mandarin scented: shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap. It was actually really lovely and makes you slightly hungry. The hotel grounds are extensive. We had a quick visit in winter, during what they call Chocolate Covered February, hence the outdoor waterpark, fountains, and gardens were closed, but the terrace outside the ballroom was open. There are several facilities for eating and lounging. We really enjoyed the Iberian Lounge, great atmosphere and cozy seating to relax. Our hotel package included chocolate martinis and breakfast. The breakfast in the Circular room was extensive! It was actually pretty fabulous, there is a variety to choose from (including chocolate chip pancakes, and chocolate bread pudding) that is already made, but there is also an option to have things cooked to order, including omelettes and waffles. The service in the restaurant was pretty good especially considering it was quite busy on the Sunday morning we had breakfast there. A stay at the hotel also includes tickets to the Hershey Gardens and the Hershey Story on the main street: Chocolate Avenue. The hotel is one of those places that you should definitely experience. I'm not sure you need to stay more than once, even though it is absolutely lovely, I think future visits can be focused on individual spaces there: like the Spa, or a restaurant or lounge. read more

It is with a heavy heart that I have to write this review. I have been going to the Hotel Hershey since I was 5, every Christmas, with my family. It is a place that I consider like a home & part of my family - so I was excited to take my husband there for his first family Christmas. Unfortunately, we both left very disappointed and my heart broken that the Hotel Hershey is no longer what it was. We stayed for 3 nights leading up to Christmas and the hotel was beautifully decorated as usual. However, as 2 adults in our mid-30s there was not a spot to be found to relax. We simply wanted to sit in the Fountain Lobby and have a chocolate martini, but the lobby was used for events all weekend long. From breakfast to lunch with Santa, to a reception, to even the adjacent Iberian Lounge being closed to guests - there wasn't a place to get a drink or a mildly quiet place to even sit. The spa would be a great place to get away- if you could get an appointment. I called a month before and every week leading up to our stay. The availability changed based on who I talked to and hotel guests receive no priority for booking during their stay so I was unable to get a spot while there. When we wanted quiet time, we had to leave the property. Even the Circular disappointed. While our server for dinner was exceptionally friendly, the actual food was not. I had ordered a cocoa crusted filet, which was something I enjoyed during a previous stay. It came out with no crusting and undercooked. The re-fire made it over. At that point, I just wanted to eat. Breakfast was tasty, but service was slow if you did not utilize the buffet. The rooms are small, as is expected in a historic hotel. However, I will not accept "historic" as an excuse for the window air/heat not working properly, the chipped up furniture, or poor maid service. I have stayed in much nicer historic hotels for less money. It is incredibly sad to see what the Hotel Hershey has become. Long gone are the days of kisses on your pillow, enjoying a chocolate martini with loved ones in the fountain area, teddy bear weekend or exceptional room standards. The Hotel Hershey, sadly has become a place focused on how to make the most money rather than their old focus on the guests. Besides the nostalgia of Christmas with the family there, there is nothing much to draw me here again. read more

I wish I could make it a 3.5. The main things that made this place special was its location and having a world class spa. The employees were also kind, they give you a chocolate bar at check in, and the chocolate mandarin bath products in your room are fantastic (I actually bought full size bottles to take home). The indoor pool is nice and my nieces enjoyed kids activities like a St. Patrick's Day hunt. All this being said... the hotel itself is seriously outdated and needs a facelift. Carpet was peeling up in main halls, amongst other things. A place so expensive should be kept a bit nicer. read more

Wow, just wow! We stayed I in the cottages (four of us in one), and that alone was so nice. They're incredibly roomy, clean, well stocked. The hotel was so accommodating. We loved Sophie at the front desk (Sophie your next job should be at Disneyworld as a skipper on the jungle cruise!!). They had everything you needed so we didn't have to leave. A number of great restaurants, amazing room service, pool, spas, saunas, I mean cmon.... and the park right across the street!! I fee likE we hit the lottery here. The hotel property is great but don't expect to know where anything is! You pay a ton for all the perks but no one tells you how to get to them! You get a "sweet treat" hour at the park but nothing is open so you rush for nothing! Our room was an hour late, when people behind us got rooms first and we were lucky to get right next to the elevator and where they were doing construction!! I can't believe how much we paid for a horrible stay! The "s'mores event" that happens daily is right by the harvest restaurant but we walked for 30 minutes trying to find it while our room service was getting cold because all food is closed by 9! I don't recommend this place if you are single and alone traveling far way hoping you would be taken care of due to the price! read more

This may be my favorite hotel. I have been many times between family trips and romantic get aways with some fun. Just a short bus ride away from the park and across the street from the gorgeous Hershey Gardens, The Hotel Hershey is the place to stay! I will always go back and never stay anywhere else. Perfect for adults and children alike, with the upscale atmosphere you would expect for a hotel at this price point. From the chocolate bars on check in, to the extremely accommodating staff, they are here to meet your every desire. Although this may sound like an ad, I genuinely feel like The Hotel Hershey lives up to its promises and its marketing. I cannot wait to head back next year! read more

My partner stayed in the hotel a week ago for a mid-week staycation and to sum up our stay it was... lack luster at best. We had a late check in and was given the much sought after chocolate and made our way up to our room. Although the king size bed was inviting and comfortable, the room had little else to offer. A 1/4 inch of dust decorated the floor trim and the sheets were scratchy. There was roughly a 1/2 inch gap between the bedroom carpeting and the bathroom tile, where carpet staples and food bits were stuck in the crevice. However, I was excited just to get away and willingly overlooked these inconveniences. The next day I was scheduled for a massage at the Hotel's Spa and was underwhelmed. My service was excellent and the employees were incredibly kind. The spa itself was wildly outdated, looking as though it was from 1990, with gym style showers and mustard yellow robes. While I was at the spa my partner called the front desk and asked that the room be turned down and vacuumed as he had surprised me with rose petals and champagne in the room (a package offered by the hotel) when we arrived. He was told that under no circumstances were personnel coming into the room. He called and asked again, explaining that there were roses everywhere, aggravating our allergies, and that the no personnel in the room policy had not been explained to him at check - in or when he booked. We moved on in our plans, having made reservations at the nearby restaurant Devon - which we had been told when we booked would be accessible by either Uber or a car service provided by the hotel. I looked to schedule an Uber and quickly realized that the area was designated a "no pick up zone" as all drivers canceled their pick ups. My partner called the front desk to schedule the car service and was told that service was only offered on the weekends. My partner asked the front desk for other options - expecting to be given the number for a cab service - and was told "Well, have you considered driving yourself?" Having no other options, as we wished to drink and dine safely, we ate dinner at the Hotel's Trevi 5. The bartenders deserve 10/10. The food was bad. No flavor, not appealing to look at, and just tasted incredibly mediocre. We checked out and were asked how our stay was and told staff that it wasn't great and were given a head nod and a polite "have a good day. For almost $400 a night - my expectations were slightly more than what I would expect from a Hilton or a boutique hotel in Philly. Truth be told I've had nicer stays at a Hampton Inn. The experience all in all was quite the let down with little to no customer service from the hotel. TLDR: Save your money and stay at a Hilton. If you're looking for a resort stay, I'd suggest a resort that's classy and dedicated to customer service such as Woodloch. read more

I have to admit after seeing some of the star ratings I was a little skeptical when I was looking to book, but I'm glad stayed at the hotel. The hotel Hershey's location is fantastic. The rooms are clean, the pool was nice, people at reception would friendly, and the complimentary breakfast in the morning wasn't half bad . For the price you can't beat it. Spoke with a manager regarding my stay; he was very understanding & admitted the failure on the hotel staff's part for assigning me that room. It was reassuring that HH does have thoughtful "amenities" in place for off season guests but something slipped thru the cracks during my visit. As a goodwill gesture I was offered some money back or a one night stay at a reduced rate to be used. After trying to weigh my options, and which would realistically be to my benefit, the manager was customer focused enough to offer me both. I appreciate the responsive, the hotel being accountable for their mistake, empathy to lessen the blow of my initial experience but an opportunity to give HH another chance. My wife and 9 year old son spent three days here and absolutely loved it! The grounds were perfectly kept, the room was elegant and the service was very good! Since we couldn't check in till 4pm we ended up renting a pool cabana from 11am onwards to have a place to relax l. The pool is perfect for toddlers and they have 2 slides great for older kids. For $300 , they really should offer wait service to take lunch drink orders but otherwise it was fine. But your park tickets from the concierge it's way cheaper and you get to go to the park the night before for free ( 5pm-8pm) and then an hour early entry the next dat (10am ) to beat the crowds. Well worth it and the shuttle bus drops you off right at the entrance. The park is small but good enough and We enjoyed the boardwalk with water activities much more ( rent a locker)! Also take the free tour in chocolate world it's fun and then buy all kinds of stuff in the store its really fun! We had the breakfast buffet at the circular which was worth it (Dinner is pricey and portions small) We will definitely go back next Summer! read more

Beautiful hotel, everything was impeccable. The room size, the bed, the linens, the turn down service, housekeeping. Every aspect of our vacation was perfect. We arrived early (2pm) and our room was ready and we were allowed to check in. I did however note this on our reservation form in early January for a June booking. Not sure if this mattered, but it was nice being able to go up to the room right away. The only minor complaint is there was only one elevator on our side of the building. A 2 year old is not patient enough to wait more than 3 minutes. read more

We just spent a shortened time at The Hotel Hershey because of a few issues that I will mention below. The Hotel is a beautiful , old hotel with beautiful bones and a staff that is very attentive and caring. The food is very good and well priced and indeed is a treat as a trip outside the city. Hotel Hershey was apparently conceived by Milton Hershey after a trip to Europe. It truly is a grand dame in every respect. We did have some issues with the management of the Hotel and their tepid offer to solve a problem. The AC in our room was quite load and seemed to work by itself. It actually kept my wife up all night. The management offered a solution that would have required more payment so we declined and checked out one day early. The hotel is busy which is a good sign but the outside grounds seem to be not quite up to the standard that one would expect from a 5 star hotel. Especially out in the back where there are some ponds and fountains. The pool was at capacity both Hot days that we were there. That is not good news for young children. The elevators need dramatic refurbishing. Mr. Hershey would not be happy with his creation. The last point is that like many hotels, they allow service animals. I was stopped multiple times by the staff , informing me that dogs were not allowed. I was even challenged by a manager as to what service the dog provided. If you are dog friendly regarding service dogs then be so. Don't constantly challenge your guests. I mentioned that this is a beautiful old hotel. It needs some work and better and more supportive management. The rest of the staff is terrific. read more
