I would like to preface this review with the fact that I have been in service my entire life,…read moreincluding managing a hotel myself. I currently work for American Airlines at the Charlotte Douglas Airport. The front desk agent Matt - caused me to walk away from a prepaid reservation and pay to stay at the Hilton Hershey property instead. Which was amazing, by the way! I had a reservation for 6/15, and had called the week before to reconfirm an early check in. After working my 8-9-hour shift, I drove over 7 hours straight to Hershey PA to take my elderly mother to a concert at Hershey Stadium. Once arriving at the Fairfield, Matt brusquely replied that I did not have a reservation. I explained to him that a Marriott Vacation Club Member had gifted me the room and it was registered in my name as well as theirs. He then "found it" and told me there would be no early check in although I had confirmed, and I would have to wait until after 4pm. Mind you it is 11am, and at this point I have been awake well over 24 hours and am feeling faint. He was so nasty, I took a step back to take a calming breath. He was then so rude to the next lady (in front of her children as well) that she exclaimed "is this how you treat Marriott Bonvoy Members? WOW!" I knew I was unable to reason with this individual, and I was too exhausted to escalate the issue. So, I simply left and took my business elsewhere. I called today after some thought on the matter, hoping to give grace, and it was Matt who answered the phone. He was disdainful, snide, would not provide me with the GM's name or email and disconnected the call. I called Marriott Bonvoy myself and got the information I needed. Matt is ABSOLUTELY NOT the person Guests should EVER see and interact with upon entering a Marriott property. A welcoming smile and spirit of kindness is necessary in our industry. Matt has none of these qualities. Like I relayed to Corporate, Matt is most definitely a cause of loss of revenue for this location. On a more positive note, Zira and Melisa at The Hampton Inn Hershey saved the day! Highly recommend!!!

At the lounge there is always something to do/eat/drink/chocolate. Lots of seating in and around the bldg. big tvs to watch and soft music playing. For breakfast it was continental (bagels, toast, muffins, juice, croissants). Free. All we really eat for breakfast anyway. then all day there are bags of chips pretzels tea/coffee/hot chocolate/soft drinks dispenser (sodas/lemonade/iced tea/gatorade). At 11a they roll out snacks, big cookies, etc. at 5p there's a reception with prosciutto, olives, Brie, salami, crackers, wine, beer, etc. then dessert like mini cakes at 7:30p. All part of the room fee. We requested a microwave in our room for my daughter's allergies. They forgot, but there's a microwave to use in the lounge. Yay! Oh and there's board games in the lounge too. There are utensils and plates avail all day for use. Didn't see fire pit lit up for s'mores. Maybe that's during the summer. Hubby got to use the hotel shuttle to take him to the ice hockey game and back. Driver knew when game was over so they were waiting for him before we even had to call. Free admission to Hershey museum and garden. Ok teeny tiny nitnoid grumbles. Our pillows were only down pillows so during the night, they compressed. No other options in room. Hotel comforters were great, but very noisy due to high thread count or too much starch.

I didn't realize that not all of the villas include a fireplace or a soaking tub. Of course, every detail of the cottage is consistently lovely (the decor, the cleanliness, and modern amenities in the bathroom)

I don't know why I keep having bad luck with Courtyard hotels but this is getting irritating…read more Was in Hershey for a conference. Night 1, my tv kept having issues - it kept freezing, rebooting, and sometimes just wouldn't even turn on. The remote was working, and I unplugged/replugged the tv several times. Finally called the front desk and asked if there was an issue with the service and they said no. I asked for them to send someone to take a look and they said the tech was gone for the day but they could switch my room if I wanted. I was already unpacked and getting ready for bed, so didn't want to repack everything after the last time I had to do this at another Courtyard - they said they would send someone in the morning. The morning came and I was working from the hotel room for a few hours as the conference didn't start till lunch time. No one came to fix the tv. When I was leaving for the conference, I stopped at the front desk and they said they'd said someone right away. Night 2 I come back and the tv still isn't working. I call the front desk again. They have no idea if anyone came to try to fix it, but again said the tech had left for the day and they could switch my room. I'm really getting irritated at this point, and I said no again please just send someone in the morning. They never sent someone. The tv was never fixed my whole stay. They mentioned giving me a discount on the room but I had prepaid through a third party website so they couldn't. Did offer me free breakfast and stuff from the market though. In addition, housekeeping came to my room every day but it seems all they did was make the bed and empty the trash. They didn't replenish any of the coffee supplies so I had to go to the front desk to get more. Took some dirty towels left on the floor for pickup but not all of them. Also, there was no lotion in the bathroom? Used the gym one morning and the water bubbler in the gym room was completely empty so had to get water from the lobby. Overall a very frustrating hotel experience.

After we entered our room, she called to make sure everything was fine. The room is spacious with a sofa facing a nice size television. The microwave and refrigerator are nicely stored in a cabinet. Next to it there's a single serve coffeemaker with the pods. The bathroom is also spacious with ample amount of towels. The lobby area has three cushioned lounge chairs facing the television, very relaxing. It also has several chairs and tables for a small group meeting. There's a bistro if you want some breakfast, snacks, and drinks. Breakfast isn't complimentary. The gym is next to the pool near the elevator. It has elliptical machines, treadmills, yoga mats, dumbbells, and weight machine. They provide towels, sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizers, and water. You can also watch television while working out. Next to the gym is laundry room for the guests. There's a washing machine and a dryer. It's a very nice amenity. Staff was very nice and friendly, I felt very welcomed here. I enjoyed my stay and recommend it.

The rooms felt dated - particularly the bathroom, where the wallpaper was peeling and the bathtub showed its age. The overall décor could benefit from a refresh. Small touches would also make a difference; for example, swapping the chocolate bar welcome for liquid body wash instead of bar soap would feel more practical and modern. I stayed for a conference, and while the buffet food was decent, the desserts were the standout - especially the brownies, cookies, and flourless chocolate cake. Those were definitely a win. The waterpark was a lot of fun for the kids and a big highlight of the stay. That said, it would be great if both the waterpark and on-site restaurants had extended hours, especially on weekends, to better accommodate families. A few logistical frustrations stood out as well. The check-in line was extremely long, so be prepared to wait - it would be a huge improvement if they offered a virtual check-in option. Additionally, room service does not come during multi-day stays, which was disappointing. A simple refresh between days would go a long way in improving the guest experience. Overall, it's a pleasant place with family-friendly features, but it didn't quite live up to other resort experiences I've had. If your main focus is a waterpark getaway, you may want to consider Great Wolf Lodge as a comparison.

We recently stayed for a weekend during a last minute trip to Hersheypark for end of summer with…read morethe kids. Overall our stay was good. With the exception of someone I spoke to on the phone who was incredibly rude, the morning before we checked in when I called to make sure we could stay in the same room for both of our nights (split reservation)... the entire staff was pleasant and helpful. But I really have to give major kudos and credit to the breakfast staff! Suffice it to say, breakfast time gets BUSY around 8:00/9:00 on a weekend morning. They were on top of keeping everything stocked and navigating around lines of people (seriously the waffle line was like 10 people deep). One gentleman in particular (and I wish I had gotten his name) was super helpful after a kid stuck his whole hand into a bowl of chocolate chips so we needed to ask for a replacement. The hotel shows signs of age and nothing is perfect (the shower head was SO HIGH I had to stand on tiptoes to just adjust the stream) but overall it was a good stay. The bed was comfortable... maybe a little firm... but I was THRILLED to find they do do use the crappy down pillows that every other Hilton Brand seems to use. The ones that support your head for about 30 seconds. So this made for a much more restful night of sleep. And of course it is pet friendly with a convenient doggie station on a decent size grassy area that spans the back of the hotel. I WOULD recommend that housekeeping pay a bit more attention to what toiletries they hang in the shower (LOVE LOVE the full size ones that not only cut down on waste but also mean our whole family of four isn't trying to make one tiny bottle of Neutrogena last). The reason I say that is because we didn't have shampoo in our shower. We had shower gel, conditioner, and LOTION. Haha. We're Diamond members so have stayed in a few Hilton properties. And many of them Hamptons. I was not disappointed with this stay. With its proximity to the park (easy in and out), it's a good deal.
