I have stayed at this motel many times both short and long term. Has an ice machine for the road trip tourist, one washer (2.50) and dryer (1.00) both in working condition. This place is very well kept I have put in a word to get smart TV's installed with NETFLIX. Walmart is about 3 miles away with two sheetz at opposites ends one in Hummelstown and one towards palmyra. This is a no frills, affordable motel right down the street from Hershey. You do not get a breakfast but you do get a room with space to move around in that is clean with comfortable bed. The TV has plenty of selection to watch. There is a refrigerator and microwave. There are outside benches and rocking chairs to also relax on plus in the summer they have a pool. All rooms have an exterior entrance and it is two floors. Only warning is if you can not do stairs, ask for first floor as there is no elevator. read more

Never thought I'd be leaving a five star review for a two star motel, but I'm impressed. For a bare essentials type of accommodation, this place was very comfortable, clean, and welcoming. We weren't bothered by noise. Check-in was quick and easy, and when I had to call ahead to make a change to my reservation, the staff was very helpful and polite. My kids liked it - they've never stayed in any kind of hotel or motel and were tickled by the ice machine and the fact that someone came in and made the beds! If we ever come back to Herschey, I'd stay here again. However, word to the wise; if you have any hint of a physical limitation, I would ask for a ground floor room as the stairs were a bit rough on my only slightly wonky knee. read more

We came out here for a Dead and company concert so the prices were much higher than normal but I remembered staying here over ten years ago, at that time there were different owners. Now the current family purchased it in 2018. It's not anything fancy but it has been remodeled somewhat and is clean. It was quiet and had a nice clean pool. It's kind of a mom and pop place but I liked the fact that they accommodated me when I asked for a bottom floor room and they put us right on the end. Getting in and out of the parking lot was easy and I liked that I didn't have to go in and out of elevators to get to my car or climb a bunch of stairs. The air conditioning worked well. My family visited Hershey Park this weekend 5/21- 5/23. I was going crazy trying to find a good hotel that has a pool that my children could enjoy. After finding a lot of indoor pools in the area with very high rates per night. I came across The White Rose . I was nervous that the pictures would not be what the pool looked like. But I'm happy to say that the pool was awesome! The owners were very nice . The rooms were clean for being a motel. And the TVs were flat screen smart tvs . Happy with the reasonable rates . it was a great family stay. Would visit again. Hershey Park also closes early at 7pm so the outdoor pool was a great benefit to the stay. Visiting Hershey , decided to try this place . It is the absolute noisiest place we have ever stayed . Not only do they have a heard of elephants over our heads , the parking lot is constantly busy . Tried ear plugs , didn't work . At 5am, a moving truck was out front , making all kinds of noise . My 2yr old grandson was woken up several times. Not a peaceful night. Went to take a bath , found black hairs on the wall of the shower , on the shower curtain, in the lift out drain plug. Shower it is ! Tried to let my grandson nap, guy walked around the front for over an hour with a leave blower , blowing around a handful of the same leaves . Only here for 2 nights , dreading tonight. Just maybe it will be better . If it is , I will amend this review. So far , we would never use this hotel again. read more

My family pulled off the interstate late, needing a restful sleep before starting an all day drive. I didn't want to stay at a chain hotel which would require using common entry areas and a shared hall in this pandemic summer. The White Rose Motel was much cheaper and a nice family motel with well lit and ample parking right in front of our clean newly remodeled room. The bed was comfortable, shower hot, and we crashed happily and hard. When leaving, we drove up the street and ate at the Hershey Pantry which has such pleasant outside dining, and the staff is wearing masks. My husband liked his crab eggs benedict, and I enjoyed the eggs, home fries and a cappuccino. One of our kids wanted to sleep, and the restaurant packed up a nice breakfast for us to take. If you are rolling into Hershey for a night, this was a good place for sleeping and eating out too. read more

The motel is a bit outdated but the proximity and price cannot be best! The place is family-owned and they are very nice. They know a lot about the area and where to go (for food, shopping, etc). The pool is very clean and small enough for kids but is 6 feet deep on one end so adults can enjoy as well. The rooms are snug but the bed is rather comfortable. I just spent the weekend at the White Rose motel for a nice little getaway. Since it was just my boyfriend and I and we knew we weren't going to be spending a lot of time in the room, I booked this place because the price could not be beat! What I spent for the whole weekend was what other hotels were charging for one night. I was very happy with this place. The owners were very nice, the room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was nice. It was a cold weekend, and the heat worked wonderfully. The housekeeper came and cleaned while we were out and did a great job. The location was perfect, just minutes from Hershey park and so many nice restaurants. We went to Tröegs brewery on Saturday, Abd we Ubered there and back very conveniently and for a very low price. I just need a reasonably priced and clean hotel; the White Rose was both. The rooms look to be recently renovated; the floors are really nice. There are a lot of outlets. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. There is a shower, no tub, which I like. Shower head is low, but I'm short. The WiFi was difficult to connect to. Based on good reviews, we booked White Rose and glad we did. The room and grounds are extremely well kept and clean. Instead of carpet in the room, they have laminate flooring. It really does make the room seem clean and fresh. Plus, it looks nice. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was clean. The ac unit ran constantly, but it wasn't too cold and it was nice to have the white noise. It was too cold to swim, but we sat by the pool with our feet in. The pool was very clean. We were doing the great Pennsylvania antiquing creep recently and found that we needed a place to stay overnight. We happened upon this gem. I asked the owner about AAA discounts, and she happily replied that they didn't give them because they had the cheapest rates on the strip-She was right. As with all older and smaller motels I asked to take a look at the room before paying. She graciously took us up to take a look at the room-it was clearly very clean, and fresh-amazing for a small, older motel. As we were approaching our room, there were some rather boisterous people on the porch near our room (probably partying it up for what we were told was the "world's biggest RV show" happening in the area); the owner gave them the stink eye and promised there would be no problems if they were still partying after dark. We unloaded our gear, went out for dinner and arrived back early and before dark to a pleasant, noise-free room with no rabble rouser neighbors the entire night. The owner was very eager and helpful to outline all the area antique shops and malls, and asked how we slept the next day when checking out-"Like a dream!", I reported. It's pretty "old" but it is very clean! If you're looking for something upscale, updated, fancy- this isn't your place. If you're looking for somewhere clean, local, friendly, and reasonably priced to spend a weekend away- this place is where you should spend your weekend. Visit and Tour around Hershey and surrounding areas. The elderly lady at the front is great to get some ideas if you want to drive around and get ideas for local area. Solid motel with all the ammenities you need. Clean and simple, nothing classy, nor does it try to be (especially for $75/night). All rooms come with TV, VHS/DVD player, fridge, microwave, etc. Rooms are decent size, as are the bathrooms. Location is great, a mere 5 minute drive from Hershey Park. There's also a pool, which is seasonal. This is a family owned motel, and they couldn't have been nicer. There is an attention to detail that has no precedent! Looking about I get the sense that there is a little old Italian fellow taking care of everything. The structural members are dressed with a trellis, the doors and locks operate with no effort and the tile in the bathrooms are carefully set. Overall, it is a motel with TLC. My family stayed here for one night during our trip to Herhey Park. You can definitely tell that our room/motel is old and outdated but it was clean and it sufficed. The owner who greeted us at the front desk is friendly. The air-conditioner is also old and it didn't cool enough even at the coolest settings. For some reason, our room phone kept ringing every 2 minutes. I thought it was a prank at first until I realized a small child was playing with a phone on the other line. I don't know how that child is getting our room number. Our devices was having a hard time connecting to their wifi service. It was very frustrating. This is happening on all our iphones, ipad, and PC laptops. Once connected, Internet was very, VERY SLOW, and would disconnect once in a while. Our room was two rooms away from the office so range is not/shouldn't be the issue. Unfortunately, there was no one to call for help at this motel after 10PM. There was also a pamphlet in our room basically saying, they can't help with any Internet problems. All they can do is verify to you that their wifi is "up". The next morning, I noticed a "tip" envelope for your room cleaner. Although I did leave a tip in the envelope, I always found this a little tacky. These hotel/motel owners should just pay their employees enough to not need this. This is a good enough and cheap enough motel to stay for a short period. If wifi is important to you, look elsewhere read more

We're actually staying here right now. I'm very impressed and happy with our stay. Everyone in the office was very nice and helpful. The ladies were informative and willing to help with directions, menus, and said anything we need let them know. The wifi is great and were actually pretty far from the office, almost as far as you can get. It's not the most modern furnishings, but it up to date. Definitely within the last few years they've done updates and added new furniture. Very clean. The bathroom is spotless. The location of the hotel is great, it's far enough from the hustle of the traffic from Hershey park, but it's not far enough away to make it annoying. It's slightly warm out, when we checked in they told us they turned the AC on for us in the room! I thought that was nice. We've checked into big name hotels on hot days and the rooms were sweltering! If we weren't here for the RV show to buy a camper, I would definitely stay here again. This is certainly worth the price over a big brand hotel and it's supporting a local family who definitely takes pride in their business! read more

After a horrible rain storm we decided to stay here last minute because other hotels/motels were either booked or had one room left and we needed two. Long story short, it was a nice place to stay - clean & neat rooms and bathrooms, super affordable, and the person working the front desk was helpful and welcoming. We had a restful stay. When my husband and I got married four years ago we stayed at this hotel for two nights. We loved it, it was dated but you could tell it was family owned and they took a lot of pride and care into their work, and the biggest thing; it was clean. Well this past weekend we decided to do a little overnight/day trip and we knew which hotel we were choosing; the white rose. When we walked in our room we couldn't believe how beautiful everything was! They remodeled their rooms from top to bottom! We waited till the last minute to call and book a room so unfortunately we couldn't get a king size bedroom, we had to get two Queens, but that was completely fine with us. We waited till 7pm on a Friday night to call and rent a room for the night. They were still just as friendly as before. Another awesome experience and we will totally be back again. We looked everywhere and was going to stay somewhere else initially, but I found this online and through some great reviews, so thrilled we stayed at the White Rose. The owner and staff were super friendly and the room was just what we needed with the basics. Absolutely adored sitting outside on the rocking chairs each evening after our day activities. The price was outstanding and it was in perfect proximity to everything in the area. The rooms are spotless without the smell of cleaning chemicals. The bedsheets are heavy weight and IRONED. Who irons sheets? The mattresses were firm and luxurious with the wonderful tight fitting sheets. We stayed in a single room and also the cottage which is a very nice house. Both were very quiet, warm and comfortable. The rates are very good. This is my go-to place any time I am near Harrisburg or Hershey. By chance we discovered a great sushi restaurant in the same block named Sakura Do. This motel is as good as it gets! I had reservations when I saw the seriously low price compared to other, not so great, motels. However, I took a chance on this family-owned business just because I 'get it.' And I was not disappointed. To the contrary, the standards and customer service exceeded any expectations I had from reading such high reviews on travel websites. I was pleasantly surprised! My family and I had two rooms (side-by-side) that were large and very clean. They included VHS/DVD player, mini-fridge, microwave and coffee machine. WiFi signal was perfect w/o interruption, even in the awful storm we got during our stay. Although on a main road in Hershey, the outside noise was minimum. All guests were quiet by 10pm, which was a huge plus for us early-risers! The pool was awesome and a nice relief to the hot sun. It was very clean and well cared for, as were the grounds. Although not directly across from any main attractions, this motel is within a few miles of all of them. It is conveniently situated in the very center of both downtown Hershey and a smaller, more quaint town. My family and I found it delightful to get away from all the tourists in such a short drive to have dinner, while being so close to all the Hershey attractions. The location is safe. There were no vehicles or people hanging around after dark. There was never any threat of our vehicles getting robbed, etc. Most of the time, when people read "motel," they think cheap, dirty and dangerous. That is not so in this case! The only complaint I'd have for this location is the parking lot, but it's not really a complaint since all worked out well. Parking is kind of tight if you drive a large vehicle. I did not have a problem in my 2500 Dodge Ram but others seemed to since we were parked by the office (near our rooms). I actually overheard a couple talking about it in the parking lot. Other than that, I was fully satisfied, as was my family. When we venture back to Hershey, White Rose is where we will stay and I will be recommending this location to all my friends. It was such a relief not to worry about my vehicle being broken into, outside noise late at night or housekeepers stealing my stuff. read more

I stayed at this motel by an accident. I originally booked at a different hotel, but of course that didn't work out. I couldn't be more happier to stay here. The rooms were so clean with beautiful quilts on each bed. The room had a nice size refrigerator, along with a microwave & TV. The pool was really clean with comfortable chairs & tables. My son & nephew couldn't stay out the pool the 3 nights we stayed. One day we went to Hershey Park. When we returned to our room, there was a birthday banner, balloons, a cake in the refrigerator, a birthday card, and a note. All for my son. These ppl are so selfless. We were in wow. I must say this place has the most friendly staff I have encountered and the way they designed and furnished the room makes me feel like I'm in a home rather then a hotel.
