    Lilac & Lace Room
    Joanie And J.

Alden House Bed & Breakfast is located right downtown Lititz. It is the perfect place to stay and enjoy all of the treasures that Lititz, PA has to offer (great shops and delicious restaurants). Upon our arrive we were greeted by innkeeper- Lynndell. She was quite charming and very welcoming. She showed us around downstairs- showed us where we could get a cold drink, cup of coffee or cup of tea anytime during our stay. She also had packaged snacks available to grab anytime also. She usually has homemade goodies for guests to eat, but due to COVID they now provide the pre-packaged treats. After our downstairs tour she lead us upstairs to our room- Lilac and Lace. The room was large with a gorgeous bay window. There was also another room attached that was a great sitting room with a daybed. This room had a door that opened up to the back porch, which was a nice place to sit and listen to the water feature that they have in the backyard. Our room also had a nice size bathroom (it was placed between the main room and the sitting room). Another wonderful place to relax with a cool drink or cup of coffee is the front porch. The porch is situated along the side of the house, so you can facing Main Street or enjoy a little privacy and sit a little on the side. Every morning, Lynndell serves a wonderful breakfast. We enjoyed that she had sweet and savory things to eat at each breakfast. Jenni loved the Chocolate Zucchini Bread, so much that Lynndell gave us the recipe so we could enjoy it at home. Alden House is a perfect place to stay if you plan to visit anything in Lancaster County. During our stay we actually drove a short 45 minutes to Hersey Park. We highly recommend Alden House to anyone traveling in the area of Lititz, PA.

When looking for hotels in the area the Fulton Steamboat Inn came up. We were very intrigued from the moment we saw it online. Wow, we were not disappointed. We arrived at night and as soon as we rounded the corner and pulled in all three of us said "wow". It was that beautiful! A steamboat designed hotel inside and out! There's a small lake with ducks, a playground, a fire pit area, and a nice seating area. They have a restaurant on sight, but we did not eat there. They also have a small gift shop. They did a great job at keeping things looking clean. The free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cookies were a nice touch. They had the place beautifully decorated for Christmas. We plan to stay there the next we are in town. We have already recommended the place to several people!

The room was spacious, fireplace, balcony and even a step to help you climb into bed. They have a pool and hot tub with adult swim from 10-12om. Bar and restaurant are on site. I will review them separately. The koi pond and walking oath are nice addition We sat out one if the nights unfortunately no bonfire but still a beautiful peaceful night. Free coffee tea and cookies in the lobby. Employees were engaging and helpful. This might be a place to come back every year. Lots of things to do in the area and many restaurantstop to choose from.

Hey this was fun, as now I'm 0/2 on road trips with the team. See my review of the "Quality Hotel"…read morein Niagara. Checked in at 4pm on a Saturday. Girl at the front desk was as quiet as a mouse, acted like she didn't want to be there and now I know why, and essentially was a mute. I booked a king bed room. Walk into room? And felt like i was inside a cigarette. Smoking room. I DID NOT ORDER THIS!! I DONT SMOKE OR DO I LIKE SMELLING LIKE IT!!!! So I go back downstairs and ask to be moved- they say they only have a two queen bed room. So I tell the manager she's a moron and go back up to my room. Should have walked to the local convenience store and got a carton of Parliaments. The vending machines are empty, the pool is "closed for maintenance," and the whole place is underwhelming. The next morning I waddled down to the lobby for the free breakfast - which looked good. Real scrambled eggs, an option for ones with cheese, brown n' serve sausage links which we grew up on, and home fries. Got a little of each - but the problem??? IT WAS ALL COLD!!!! I made two mini waffles and they were good enough - even though the waffle mix was incorrect. I pride myself on a day after coffee at these places - put in the creamer and Splenda, and then added what looked like a very light roast. IT WAS COLD!!! And the coffee had more water than roast grounds. Man what a joke of a hotel top to bottom.

At the lounge there is always something to do/eat/drink/chocolate. Lots of seating in and around the bldg. big tvs to watch and soft music playing. For breakfast it was continental (bagels, toast, muffins, juice, croissants). Free. All we really eat for breakfast anyway. then all day there are bags of chips pretzels tea/coffee/hot chocolate/soft drinks dispenser (sodas/lemonade/iced tea/gatorade). At 11a they roll out snacks, big cookies, etc. at 5p there's a reception with prosciutto, olives, Brie, salami, crackers, wine, beer, etc. then dessert like mini cakes at 7:30p. All part of the room fee. We requested a microwave in our room for my daughter's allergies. They forgot, but there's a microwave to use in the lounge. Yay! Oh and there's board games in the lounge too. There are utensils and plates avail all day for use. Didn't see fire pit lit up for s'mores. Maybe that's during the summer. Hubby got to use the hotel shuttle to take him to the ice hockey game and back. Driver knew when game was over so they were waiting for him before we even had to call. Free admission to Hershey museum and garden. Ok teeny tiny nitnoid grumbles. Our pillows were only down pillows so during the night, they compressed. No other options in room. Hotel comforters were great, but very noisy due to high thread count or too much starch.

Of course, every detail of the cottage is consistently lovely (the decor, the cleanliness, and modern amenities in the bathroom)

Management also hung up with him when they were discussing how his legs were covered in flea bites. In all fairness, maybe the manager was receiving a call from someone else who was bitten by fleas. If you're starting a flea circus (or a flea looking for someone to bite) this would be a good choice.

This is a nicely executed version of a mid-level hotel. They advertise it as newly remodeled, looks nice and does "read" as fresh & clean. The whole staff is pleasant and the front desk operators are a good source of local knowledge. We got good resturant suggestions or in one case confirmation of our choice. The breakfast (included in price) is well executed, good choices, certainly something for everyone. They have water/cofee, fruit in lobby area 24/7. The gym/pool was nice, we had it to ourselves, middle of the week, few other guests didn't seem like pool or gym types. One issue while we were here (29-31 AUG 23)- there was considerly too much chlorine in the hot tub. Skin tingling amounts. Jewelry tarnishing amounts. If you were supposed to put in 10 pucks, the guy this week did 20 and threw in one more for luck. After a few quick dips (post bike rides) I know neither of us will get any diseases this winter. One oddity, a nice large fish tank is in the lobby. The filter was never on. There are a few small tetra, a big pleco, the water looks clear, there are heaters, but strangly neglected for such an obvious feature. There are a couple of property infrastructure challenges that are not related to the current staff/owner. The entry/ exit out on "main road" is a bit problematic. It's a contesting area where cars are coming off highway and it is the main road through town. At times it was the great convergence, all of the 100 residents, and every tractor trailer in the county occupied that same place and time. Sitting to make the left from out of "downtown" I felt bad as traffic built up behind us (a turn lane is logical solution). The other is the parking lot. It is situated on a rolling hillside. Rather than engineer a flat plateau, the builders just paved the undulations of the existing lands. I felt like I needed to use the parking brake. It can't possibly be used safely in snow/sleet. Overall nice place, would stay here again.
