Wayyyyy better than staying in one of the area hotels. Don and Ellen were extremely hospitable. They were able to accommodate our late check in time which we were very grateful of. They had snacks, coffee and tea 24/7 along with candy and games. The inn itself is very charming and I love all the decor. We stayed in the Sycamore room on the second floor. The bed was a little too soft for our liking but everything was super clean. They really thought of everything! The inn is within 10-15 min drive to all of the area attractions! The BEST part was the breakfast! Don was able to accommodate for dietary restrictions and the meals were delicious! Portions were large! We cannot wait to come back when we're in the area and will recommend to all of our friends and family!

We stayed in the Homestead Room which is one of the smaller rooms, and it was very comfortable and well furnished with shelves and hooks on which to hang things. The outside spaces are large and welcoming. The decor is very traditional and showcases primitive and farmhouse style throughout. The stairs are a bit steep, and there is some traffic noise as the inn is close to the road.

The inn's hosts are Kedri and Matt who go out of their way to accommodate your every need. Morning coffee is delivered to your door and breakfast is served in the dining room which is bright and cheerful with views of the Blue Mountains. Kedri offers a variety of healthy breakfast choices. While visiting this year, we hosted a small family reunion. Matt and Kedri arranged the perfect afternoon lunch. It's a lovely home that has been extended to add the B&B with Dane and Audrey taking great care in using antique tools so the build could resemble the original architecture and detailing. Located on several acres of rolling green land property has been in the family for 6 generations. The rooms are cozy country style with Queen size beds only no bathtubs but all with their own private bathrooms. Not a place for small children or rowdy groups/persons. No TV no radio no noise just nature and the creaking planks. The breakfasts were spectacular as much as possible is farm to table nothing is wasted. Absolutely lovely and recommended. If you are looking for serenity.

The house is old and creaks a bit. There is a nice porch to sit on outside to enjoy some morning coffee or tea, or to unwind after exploring during the day. If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy the serenity of the countryside, this place is for you. If you're looking to be close to town, or near some food establishment, stay closer to town.

The hotel has a great location right across the street from Dutch Wonderland amusement park and is close to a number of restaurants and shops. There's plenty of parking, and the interior is spotlessly clean. Our room was comfortable; the beds were not too hard, the bathroom had plenty of hot water, and housekeeping kept everything spotless. Their free breakfast was pretty good as thee things go; easily accessed hot drinks, pre-packaged Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, some fruit, waffles. And they have a really nice big pool and a good hot tub. Altogether, not bad at all. The downside: well, not a lot, but ... if you stay here ask for a room that doesn't face the highway, which is filled with noisy cars and big trucks all day and much of the night. Our AC worked fine but it was noisy the good news: it blocked some of the outside racket). The staff was mostly friendly and helpful though one front desk person was kind of grumpy. We all have bad days. All in all, we were satisfied with our visit and have no hesitation in recommending the Parkview to others coming to this area.

Raquel and Juan are what make this beautiful Victorian House a place to remember. Rooms are exceptionally beautiful, comfortable and most important... Clean! We had our breakfast (cooked exactly as we wanted) in the Sun room and chatted with fellow guests from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. When done with breakfast, Raquel and Juan joined us in the sun room where we chatted about all sorts of things. I couldn't have felt more at home anywhere else. Here are a few of the reasons that I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Manheim Manor: -Todd & Lorene: These two are truly some of the most gracious hosts you could ask for. In addition to just genuinely being nice and thoughtful people, they are also full of history about the home, the area around Lancaster, and more. When more guests were coming in the other nights and parking was getting tight, Todd called me to let me know a special place I could park in the back of the house. They are engaging conversationalists and make it a pleasure to stay here. I had mentioned to them that I was a cyclist and hoped to find some nearby biked trails, so Lorene printed out trail maps for me that I ended up using the next day to go on a ride. -The room: I stayed in the Peaches & Cream room, which has a great screened-in patio that made for a wonderful place to sit outside and read in the evenings. This was really one of the selling points for me as I wanted to stay somewhere where I had some private outdoor space, and this fit the bill. The rooms at the Manor aren't huge, but that was totally fine as I didn't have that many things with me anyway. The bed was quite comfortable as well, and despite the traditional nature of the home, they also had a Roku for streaming, which I ended up using one evening for Hulu. -The house and history: Built in the late 19thcentury, Manheim Manor is an exercise in historical exploration, in the best way. There is a downstairs library with a great collection of books ranging from Shakespeare to mystery books that I read as a kid (Nancy Drew, anyone?). There's an upstairs library of VCR tapes that brought back memories from just looking at the covers. Lorene took me on a tour of the house and showed me a variety of interesting historical points in its various rooms. The property also features a great outdoor seating area in the backyard. -The food: This is really a high point! In addition to being an innkeeper, apparently a great handyman, and many other things, Todd is also a refined chef and makes culinary creations that wow people every day. From the blueberry pancakes to the orange scones to the broccoli and cheese quiche...wow! Having been very fortunate to have visited many a highly regarded restaurant across the world, I can easily say that Todd's breakfast rivals some of the best morning means I've had in Paris, Tokyo, and beyond. There is also a great collection of tea and many other things that make breakfast at Manheim Manor the best part of waking up. Now for the bad...I don't have anything to say. I always try to have one point that's not overly positive so that my reviews seem more "real," but I honestly can't think of anything that isn't glowing to say about my stay. Lorene and Todd are wonderful, and all the other guests I met during my stay were friendly and neighborly as well. I have no doubt that upon my next visit to the area, I'll stay here again.

Today it was yogurt with fresh strawberries and granola, an egg soufflé with local bacon and hash browns. There was dessert: warm rhubarb coffee cake- everything was delicious, homemade and locally sourced! Our room had an en suite bathroom and it was well stocked with local goats milk soap, and shampoo bar! There is an AC in the room so you can sleep comfortably. Plenty of blankets were provided and the sheets and towels were all nice and clean. Towels were plush. Lots of places outside to just sit and watch the world go by. We saw plenty of local Amish all around and everyone was so friendly to us! Great place to have a get-away and some peace!

The location is perfect, close to everywhere. And, one final very nice touch, when we were at the breakfast table on our second day, their 13 year old daughter, a cellist, offered to play music for us, and performed wonderfully. I think her comfort with doing this this is especially impressive. I would, and will, enthusiastically recommend this B&B to my family, friends and anyone else visiting the area.
