Excellent room. Clean. Love it! Windows can open to get fresh air. We stayed at the villas right across from the concierge lounge at the hotel Hershey. At the lounge there is always something to do/eat/drink/chocolate. Lots of seating in and around the bldg. big tvs to watch and soft music playing. For breakfast it was continental (bagels,toast,muffins, juice, croissants). Free. All we really eat for breakfast anyway. then all day there are bags of chips pretzels tea/coffee/hot chocolate/soft drinks dispenser (sodas/lemonade/iced tea/gatorade). At 11a they roll out snacks,big cookies,etc. at 5p there's a reception with prosciutto,olives, Brie,salami,crackers, wine, beer, etc. then dessert like mini cakes at 7:30p. All part of the room fee. We requested a microwave in our room for my daughter's allergies. They forgot, but there's a microwave to use in the lounge. Yay! Oh and there's board games in the lounge too. There are utensils and plates avail all day for use. Didn't see fire pit lit up for s'mores. Maybe that's during the summer. Hubby got to use the hotel shuttle to take him to the ice hockey game and back. Driver knew when game was over so they were waiting for him before we even had to call. Free admission to Hershey museum and garden. Ok teeny tiny nitnoid grumbles. Our pillows were only down pillows so during the night, they compressed. No other options in room. Hotel comforters were great, but very noisy due to high thread count or too much starch. read more

The Hotel Hershey is one of those rare places that feels magical no matter how many times you visit. I've been coming here for years for the spa, for dinners, for brunch, for events and it still manages to take my breath away every single time. The property is immaculate. The level of care put into this hotel is honestly unmatched. The grounds? Flawless. The décor? Timeless and elegant. The vibe? Warm, inviting, and completely its own world. I've seen the hotel in every season, and it never disappoints, but Christmas really brings out the sparkle. The fountain lobby which is already my favorite space in the whole property was glowing with a massive Christmas tree that looked straight out of a holiday movie. (The fountain wasn't running this time, which I'm assuming is seasonal, but when it is on... that gentle water sound is heavenly.) Walking through the Spanish-inspired hallways is like stepping into old-world luxury. Arched ceilings, wrought iron details, stained glass overhead, tiled floors it's elegant without being pretentious, historic without feeling outdated. And everything is spotless. Like, Disney-level spotless. The lobby area is smaller and cozy, lined with little boutique shops selling everything from Lululemon to Lilly Pulitzer to spa products. There's also a café with breakfast, coffee, and quick bites, and that alone feels like its own sweet little experience. I'm local (about 30 minutes away), so I haven't stayed overnight recently, but I did years ago and the rooms were gorgeous, comfortable, and fit the same elevated feel as the rest of the property. During warmer months, the outdoor areas are just as stunning. Flowers everywhere, lush greenery, patios, and fire pits where you can roast marshmallows and take in the views. It's peaceful in a way that makes you want to slow down and breathe for a minute. Bottom line: The Hotel Hershey is consistently beautiful, impeccably maintained, and wonderfully unique. Beautiful, historic hotel inside and out with amazing, friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again but in a different room. Room was small but lovely and immaculate. However FYI, in a King room, anyone over 5'9" would have a difficult time sitting on the toilet as very limited space in the bathroom. It is also a gorgeous venue for weddings on the weekend. Be careful when booking to make sure you are not over or near the loading docks as very noisy late pm and early am. But overall, highly recommend! read more

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Hotel Hershey villas! The concierge services were subpar at best because it was the offseason, we had requested a massage service and never heard back meanwhile they are supposed to make it happen for you. We didn't need dining reservations so we can't comment on that, but the room service as always is top notch. The associates working in the lounge were also very accommodating! Having food allergies while being away from home can be tricky but they catered to my every need. Having a hot bagel with the continental breakfast was divine! The girl in the evening mentioned they had rolls but we never saw any. Also, they state they serve mocktails (we don't drink) during the cocktail hour in the lounge but we never saw any menu for the options. We were disappointed when there were no s'mores in the evening as advertised but there was a fantastic dessert selection available.The housekeeping staff was terrific and ensured that our room was clean. They even provide umbrellas if needed. We should also note that the villas exclusive check in or check out was unavailable during the entirety of our stay. Overall, we were happy with our stay and would like to check it out in season to truly see what the Hotel to offer. Again, off season might not be the best time to visit to experience the way the villas are meant to be but if you are looking for lounge access with a wonderful room with parking right outside your door then the Villas at Hotel Hershey are for you! read more

I found myself at Hotel Hershey for a bachelorette party for one of my best friends. This was going to be a new adventure for me on multiple levels - I've never been to a bachelorette party, and I had never been to Hershey, PA before. Arrangements were made for us to stay here, specifically in the Villas - so I was looking forward to exploring this place for the first time. Like my other hotel reviews, I'll divide this into pros and cons - so here we go. There's a lot to like about The Hotel Hershey - first and foremost it's in a premier location. You're right by Hersheypark and all its associated attractions, ZooAmerica, and all the hot spots on Chocolate Avenue. The hotel has a very grand presence - sitting at the top of a hill with clean lines and a high-end aesthetic on the interior. The decor was mixed - there was a combination of opulence and Spanish style, the latter being especially apparent on the second floor which housed the former main lobby. They have a couple of restaurants on site, as well as a bar/lounge, a spa, and a few retail stores. We stayed in the Villas which were overall another pro for me. There were several bedrooms in each villa which was great so we could all stay under one roof - there were two great rooms/common areas what contained fireplaces and overall cozy aesthetics. We also had access to a concierge lounge which was nestled among the Villas that served breakfast and light food throughout the day. As far as cons, I have a few. I thought the layout of the main hotel was odd; the lobby wasn't grand for a hotel of this stature - the original lobby which was up a flight of stairs was actually much nicer. I'm not sure what led to the switch up, but the main entrance was a tad miniscule. The Villas really confused me; an entire villa contained 6 bedrooms over two floors (three on each side of the villa) that were connected by common areas in the middle; the villa had its own main entrance to one of the common areas but each bedroom had its own separate entrance. You only get access to the common areas, though, if you book the entire villa - if you don't, then the common area stays locked/empty and you need to enter your specific room from the outside. I don't understand why they were set up like this - they could have been designed better. The Villas themselves were quite nice - decor was inoffensive though my room itself was kind of sparse - too big of a space for what was in the room. Lastly, the villa didn't have a kitchen which again seemed odd. To close, I gotta give credit to the staff - they were great. Everyone we interacted with was super friendly and accommodating. We were a larger party and they went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of - the true stars of my stay here. Overall, I think The Hotel Hershey is a solid choice for lodging when staying in Hershey; it has a lot going for it, and despite my critiques I would likely stay here again if I'm ever back in the area. read more

I've been wanting to stay here for a while and finally got the chance and I'm so glad I did! The hotel is right across from Hersheypark, and they have a shuttle that takes you back and forth, which was super convenient. The place has a really cool, historic vibe when you walk in, very classic-looking. They even give you chocolate at check-in, which was such a nice touch! My room was clean, spacious, and really comfy. It was also super quiet, so I got a great night's sleep. I didn't get a chance to try the spa, pool, or restaurants this time, but they looked awesome. I definitely want to come back to check out the spa, it's supposed to be amazing. If you can, try booking during the off-season (I went early May). It wasn't crowded at all and the rates were pretty reasonable. Definitely recommend! read more

Going up the driveway, we weren't sure we were in the right place. Until we went further up we saw a massive building. It looked old, like it had a story to tell. When you walk into the entrance, it looks very classy and elegant. I was warmly greeted and welcomed by someone at the front desk. She was one of the only nicest people to us here during our stay. She also provided me and my husband chocolate bars at check in. I thought that was a sweet treat. The room was ginormous, the closet alone already looked like a room. I thought it was interesting that the bed was right at the door. The couch and desk area was further down the room next to the bathroom. The bed was super comfy. The chocolate spa products smelled heavenly enough to eat. Some of the cons: 1. The bed is right there when you open the door. You can literally see the peep holes from the bed. 2. Cleanliness of the room - mediocre at best. The top of the tissue box literally had a layer of dust on top. Who knows how often they wipe surface areas. 3. For a 5 star hotel, our bedsheets had holes in them. Like wth? I've stayed in my fair share of hotels across the country. Never ever have I seen that. 4. One thing that turned me off about this place, the restaurants aren't actually in the hotel. The one's that are open at least. Then to top it off, you can't order take out from these restaurants? But, I can have doordash delivered? 5. #1 Con for me and my husband. Aside from the person who checked us in. Everyone else that worked there was racist. They glared at us like we stole something or don't belong. Or some of them would turn their backs like we're not there? There were so many instances that happened just for the one night we were there. That we cut the trip short and left the next day. If the hotel was like this, who's to say the park will be a better experience? My husband and I didn't feel safe here in this overrated hotel. I know RACISM still exists heavily in some states, but it's just SAD. It's 2024, how can we not move forward and make this a better and safe place for our FUTURE? How do you expect the state to thrive and make money if the tourists are being treated the way? read more

We stayed in the Villas and really enjoyed the proximity to food and the availability of a shuttle service while maintaining enough distance for quiet and calm. The Villas were lovely and the amenities were very comfortable. We were unfortunate enough to get a lower level villa, and therefore we're woken up at 4 AM every day of our trip by the visitors in the unit above us. In the future, we will make sure to specifically request single level villa or an upper level unit. It was the only disappointing aspect of our stay. read more

It's been at least 15 years since I have stayed here, and I am so happy I came back! My family had the best 2 night stay here. We stayed in the Cabins, which is a short 30 second drive from the main lodge. The room was HUGE! The bathroom was spectacular and we had 2 queen beds. There is parking right outside each cabin and it was so quiet. I probably had the best night sleeps that I've ever had at a hotel! There are several restaurants to choose from, including a Starbucks-like coffee shop with food. The spa was fantastic and they have an indoor pool for guests, which is perfect if you are there in the winter. It is only a few minutes from Hershey Park and there is a complimentary shuttle that runs to and from the park every 20 minutes during park hours. I can't wait to go back and stay here again! I love this hotel. It is one of my favorites in Pennsylvania. The staff are always so friendly and attentive. It makes me feel like a pampered guest. The hotel offers room packages. My stay was a B&B package which included breakfast. Other packages for romantic getaways or spa services were available online. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel makes it easy to include event tickets along with the online reservation which is a plus. For this stay, I added tickets for the Hershey Sweet Lights display. The e-ticket was sent to my inbox a few days before my arrival at the hotel with instructions for admission. The ticket reservation was also confirmed by the front desk upon my arrival along with my restaurant reservations. There are three restaurants on site. I would recommend making reservations prior to your visit. The hotel does have a small lounge if you want to just have drinks and maybe a lite snack. There is a full service spa on site. I've used the spa on other visits. It is amazing! I loved the 'chocolate' inspired services. My stay was prior to Christmas. I liked that the hotel offered daily holiday activities for the kids/family like breakfast with Santa and ornament decorating for the kids. Called and made a reservation for one night while in town. I requested a room that opens onto the pool area and was told they would call me back - they didn't. Checked in and was told sorry those rooms were not available...Decided to order room service / always a treat. The burgers are great and so is the Mac n cheese! Dessert was milk and cookies. I got a little lost (hotel is like a maze at times) and the concierge found me and walked me to where I wanted to go and was VERY friendly. One of my college I had forgotten her toothpaste and walked up to the front desk and ask if they have any. Within five minutes they had a home Dental hygiene kit at her door. They are still taking covid very seriously and you're not come and service your room unless you need something. They provide you a phone number to text if you need new fresh towels or anything else. We had a conference there and the entire staff was wonderful! All of our personal bartenders and servers for each of our meals were very good and went out of their way to accommodate some dietary restrictions within the group. Only complaint is that I wish I had received a hotel map to navigate the confusing halls. read more

I rarely leave reviews, much less a negative one but this place is a nightmare. My room (see pictures) was literally connected to the indoor pool at the hotel. Despite asking many times to please move the hotel said they were sold out. Yet person after person in our group (22 of us) would check in and be sent off to the same class of rooms throughout the building - however none of theirs backed up to the indoor pool like mine did. My days and nights from 7 am to 9 pm I enjoyed the lively indoor pool scene by waking up as early as 7:15 am by screaming children in the pool followed by water aerobics - complete with music blasting regardless if there were participants or not. When I called the front desk to ask if I could please move rooms they said there were no available rooms to move to. At lunch time, I went to the front desk to ask again if I could please move and the person at the front desk was so rude I could not believe they chose a profession in customer service. I kindly explained the situation. Bottomline: they could not have cared less. When I went back to my room, surprise! My key did not work. Back to the front desk I had to go to get another key. Clearly by this point, even God wanted me to move rooms. No such luck! But probably the best part of my room was the 4 inch gap between the curtains and the window that had a full view into my room between the indoor pool and my room. Each time I came in to change clothes or put on my makeup at the desk where the only mirror in the entire room was located (see pic), I could see the lifeguards and they could see me during daylight hours. It was awkward to say the least. Do yourself and your family a favor. Unless you have tiny kids who want to swim indoors, do not spend the night at this property unless you plan on sleeping when you return from your trip. There is little chance you will get much if any sleep or gracious service while staying here. The staff has zero empathy, compassion or any interest in accommodating their guests. A 5 star hotel with 0 star service. read more

Absolutely one of the best hotel experiences ever!!! The grounds are gorgeous! At first we were a bit worried that this hotel would be dated, but it absolutely wasn't. We stayed here to attend a convention. With the hotel not far from the convention center we arrived a day early to go exploring. What is great is that upon check in you get a bar of chocolate AND tickets to the Hershey Gardens as well as the Hershey Museum. We were able to check out both attractions, and both were awesome. The service was outstanding as well! Check in was smooth with valet parking, luggage services and everything in between. The room was spotless and it looked like the the pool was too! There were shops and dining all within the hotel. We went to the lounge for a drink where our bartender was not only friendly, but he made killer cocktails. The price is hefty, but it's definitely well worth it. Can only hope to stay here again! read more

We stayed here one night for a friend's birthday. The rooms were ready early and clean. I wish there was a bit more space.. the furniture took up a TON of room and while it's great to have a desk, chairs, drawers, etc... it was really hard to walk around with several people in the room. Rooms came with a hair dryer, a safe and a fridge - all great amenities. I didn't use the "chocolate mandarin" shower gel/shampoo but it smelled nice. I liked that there was self-parking as an option (it was raining the day we arrived so we were able to unload at the door and then circle back to park. They do offer complimentary shuttle to-from the downtown area (NOT Hershey Park) - and we were able to coordinate a driver to take us to and from a brewery nearby. The hotel is large - and there are several dining options on premise (see my review for the Circular - both dinner and breakfast!). There is also an indoor pool and hot tub (smaller than photos look, so be warned), and a lovely (but expensive) spa. Overall - a lovely experience at a destination resort. read more

The hotel is at the top of a hill so you can have a nice view. Beautiful interior, the floor has very unique tiles. My favorite area is the garden with fountains. The formation of garden depicts H and H when you see an aerial view. We went to Iberia lounge to get Chocolate martini. To my surprise the drink is clear with a Hershey kiss inside. They serve complimentary nuts and olives. My husband got the Reese's martini, looks creamy and chocolatey. I like it better. read more

The Hotel Hershey was just what I needed and I didn't realize it until all the pampering began from the super friendly staff! During the age of COVID the the front desk staff had clear partitions to offer protection for staff and guests. The check-in process has been streamlined and is done promptly! Most interactions with staff result in being offered Hershey's Chocolates in all varieties (Kisses; Dark Chocolate Reese's, etc). I had enough to make a Hershey's care package for my Dad..Lol During my stay the hotel was at 25% capacity and this was perfect for me to explore the spacious grounds without running into too many people in my walkabouts! There were many activities offered to engage guests, such as: Chocolate Bingo; Crafts and S'mores Roasting in the fire pit outdoors! The grounds; lobby; stores were all clean and the staff were friendly! During COVID the Chef's Market Store is open until 9p to get snacks! All other food can be ordered through room service or restaurants on-site! I suggest going out in the town and exploring restaurants or breweries (Troeg's Brewery is down the road)! The hotel snacks and room service is down right expensive..so be prepared! If I were to return..I would love to explore the trails and check out more if the area of foot..it was too cold this trip! My favorite part of the weekend was my trip to the spa (read my separate review on The Spa @ Hershey). This is a gorgeous hotel! I recommend the cottages, the rooms are huge but they are a bit of a walk to the main building and the restaurants and indoor pool. The amenities are great; your stay includes tickets to the gardens and museum which I don't think we would have considered otherwise, but really liked. I found the bed and blankets super comfortable, and loved the bathtub and shower. The restaurants were all very good, especially the Circular and Harvest. They aren't cheap but were definitely good food and service. I ordered room service once and it came incredibly quickly, and also was delicious. I didn't get to use the spa there, but the in-room products of chocolate mandarin scented shampoos and lotion tempted us to buy the full bottles. Next time I will book earlier because I didn't realize how fast the spa treatments sell out, but I bet it's worth it. I actually bought the plush white robe from them because it was so nice! Bottom Line: A unique, historic, resort-style hotel with a luxurious feel. Most people probably go to Hershey for the amusement park, chocolate or the spa. On my most recent trip I went to Hershey for history so naturally we stayed at the historic Hotel Hershey. Built in the 1930s the hotel is often said to be European architecture because it is influenced by Spanish, Italian, Mediterranean, and Iberian styles. It is a neat building and unlike anything else that I've seen in the area. Most of the hotel is historic but there are some recent additions too. Since we were in Hershey for history we chose to stay in a historic room. The room was a tad small but good enough for a short stay. The bed was mostly comfortable and the bathroom was adequate. We enjoyed views of Hersheypark in the distance and loved watching the non-stop documentary on Milton S. Hershey on the TV. We purposely stayed at The Hotel Hershey between the busy Halloween and Christmas seasons. We enjoyed a quiet hotel that seemed to be mostly hosting adults. I think I only saw two kids and a few teenagers the entire time. Given it being a slow weekend for the hotel, we were able to enjoy some of the amenities even more. As far as amenities go, we used the spa, gym and indoor pool. We practically had the gym and pool to ourselves but the spa was packed! We also enjoyed checking out the various shops off of the lobby and we dined at several restaurants. Of the amenities, the gym was definitely a pleasant surprise. The gym was spacious with full height windows looking out towards the mountains in the distance. Another pleasant surprise at the gym was Jack. He was very welcoming and helpful. I am still in awe of some of the unique characteristics of the hotel like the Fountain Lobby and the Iberian Lounge. I think both of those spaces really provide some insights into what Hershey enjoyed and his travels. Overall, The Hotel Hershey was a great experience and I would certainly return. read more

I booked 1 night for me and my friend, since we were doing a spa day and mini girls weekend. The hotel room for 1 night was $900. The room had no amenities other than a keurig coffee machine in the room. The Tv was not a smart TV and the bathroom has not been updated. You do not get a discount at the spa for being a hotel guest. My friend and her mom spent the afternoon at the spa having lunch at the Oasis lounge and dinner at Trevi 5. All was fine until dinner. My friend had her husband and 3 children join us for dinner. That night she began throwing up multiple times and at least every hour. Her husband had gone home and let her know he and their children were also throwing up. She and I discussed what could have caused this and after process of elimination realized they had food poisonings. I spoke with the front desk and I checked out. The assistant manager called me within a few hours and was very empathetic. She took detailed notes of everything that occurred. She let me know the manager would be reaching out. I asked for our meals to be covered since we spent over $2,500 that weekend on the room, spa and both meals on site. I felt that was the least they could do. The manager called and showed no empathy or apology. She explained to me that there were no other complaints so it must not have been the food served at trevi 5. What I explained to her was the reason I reported the issue was the meal that everyone got sick from was a kids menu item. Kids don't know they have food poisoning and if their parents did not eat the food/get sick they would think the kid ate too fast, much or was sick from a day at the parks. I did not want anymore kids or adults to be sick. The way the manager handled this situation was a joke for customer service and I let her know that. The hotel restaurant made my friend, her husband and 3 children ( 11 months, 2.5 and 5 years old) sick and had no response other than taking the kids meal mac and cheese off her bill.....which I ASKED FOR at the very least. What a joke. Hershey you want to be a boutique hotel with Dollar General amenities and ambiance. I will say the front desk who checked me in, received my initial complaint, the assistant manager and the runners who brought our luggage, extra towels and anything else we requested were AMAZING!!!!! The Hotel Hershey was founded by Milton Hershey himself as a means of providing jobs for people during the Great Depression. It has become the premiere resort destination for Hershey Park and other attractions in the area. Advance reservations are required since this hotel fills up quickly. It is pricey but all ways worth it. I had booked a reservation for a standard king room, did express check in, and was able to get to our room mid afternoon day of arrival. You get a complimentary Hershey's candy bar as a welcome gift. The room is small but the view overlooking the front veranda and Hershey Park was fantastic!! The bathroom has ceramic tile fixtures and a small stand above the toilet to place my toiletries. The room was very clean and came with bathrobes for our use and Chocolate toiletries from the spa. The people here go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and see that your every need is met. The fountain lobby is straight out of the Mediterranean for look and feel for this place complete with tiled floors. The magnificent fountain in the center makes a great photo opportunity. Behind this lobby is the Circular restaurant (reviewed separately) made up in a round shape to accommodate Milton Hershey's wishes that his dinner table be circular for more intimacy among guests. Your reservation includes complimentary admissions to the Hershey story museum and the botanical gardens for every member in your party. Your welcome kit gives you a map to tour this beautiful property. The hotel has a fitness center in a separate building, HH carved bushes in the back with a reflecting pool on each side ending at a pergola which is simply breathtaking. The outside swimming pool has waterslides for kids and there is an adult only pool along with a whirlpool. Near the Harvest restaurant is the Cocoa clubhouse on one side and other the other an outfitting station that arranges for daily and evening events out of the back patio. They offer disc golf for a nominal fee and you can rent a cabana for swimming. They have an 18 hole putting range behind the Harvest restaurant. To the back of that are the premiere cottages. Off to the side beyond the Harvest restaurant is a sports complex. Hiking trails surround the facility. Check out the rock garden when walking the grounds. It is perfect for weddings and special occasions. The indoor pool has another hot tub along with a children's play area. Meeting rooms are off to the side of the building. In the West section of the complex is the Hershey Spa where you can enjoy spa treatments and purchase spa goods. (Reviewed separately). If you have time take a look at the many photographs of Hershey as it existed back in the day along with advertisements for some of their candy bars. Also check out the falcon cove where once a day they bring out the falcons for you to see. They do offer complimentary transportation to and from Hershey Park and if you bought a ticket to the park you would get 3 hours night before free admission. Everyone did their best to make us feel welcome here not only calling us by name but making sure every need was met promptly. There are plenty of dining options and the stores carry some merchandise exclusive to them that you wouldn't find at Chocolate World or Hershey park. They have a nightly quiet time sign they post on each floor asking people to refrain from loud noises from 9 PM- 8 AM the following morning. I was grateful for that sign since our room was close to the elevator. That was one of the small drawbacks we faced here, in that the elevator seemed to run slow and you had to wait some time before it came to your floor. Still it didn't mar our experience. Most every place we visited on site gave us a Hershey's kiss with our meal or threw them in our shopping bag when we made a purchase. There is plenty of outdoor parking and electric vehicle charging stations. All in all it was a great place to relax and unwind with many outdoor sitting areas to take in the view. Rooms, elevators, hallways are very dated. This place looks like it was lovely 60 years ago but has not been renovated since. -The maintenance and security people all have their walkie talkies on full blast as they roam the hotel so your sleep is frequently interrupted. -The day before arrival I received a text saying the Hershey Lodge was looking forward to my arrival. I got mixed up so that's where I put in for my Uber to take me from the airport. I got there and they said , no you are at Hershey hotel. I took another Uber to the Hershey hotel and I told them what happened. They shrugged and said yeah our computer had a bug yesterday. No apology. No attempt to compensate me. - the chocolate is as mediocre as the hotel. read more

The villas may have refreshed furnishings but needs to be refurbished. Tile in shower needs to be replaced and the mortar of the patio slats near the exposed steps need to be repaired. Need a light by the steps for the back room, not just by the door. And customers should be told ahead of time if the room they get is at the walk out basement level or the street level. Clubhouse is nice but the continental breakfast and afternoon snacks doesn't really make the villa worth the extra cost. Enjoy the great amenities in one of the hotel rooms instead of the villas. read more
