Solid, albeit the a/c when it turned heat on smelled like burning... So we had to turn it completely off to avoid the smell. Busy, though - all the double queen rooms were booked. Bed and facilities were comfortable, and folks at the desk for check out and check in were friendly. Breakfast was all you can eat continental breakfast items and other hot and cold selections in the lobby. While I'm not a fan of the eggs (scrambled), they did have boiled eggs you could ask for in the back. Sausage wasn't bad, and oatmeal/cereal was standard. The pancake machines are always fun for the kids but the lines get long. All the basics, and nice and simple process in and out. Bathroom clean and the seating in the lobby gets full quickly around breakfast. Foos ball table actually had a ball, too. 10min away from the park. Free parking, too. Gym on the smaller side - was completely full at 7:30a! Had to take the kids to warm up outside. Room had plenty of bench/table spots to put items on. Didn't see a safe, or a closet, though. Just barebones which was ok. Fake hardwood floors which I like much more than carpet. Beds corners a bit sharp... watch your shins.

Nice new hotel. In town to visit hersey. The hotel was very nice and the man at the counter was very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay here- and the pancake machine!

This was my first time at a Tru by Hilton hotel and I really enjoyed my stay. This is situated in a residential neighborhood right off Chocolate Avenue. Parking is around back. I loved the vibe and the colors as soon as I walked into the lobby. They have a giant lobby with a TV and two foosball tables and lots of seating. My room was small but cozy and the bed was comfy. Everything was very clean and staff was friendly. The included breakfast in the morning was decent -- egg white fritatas, oatmeal, turkey sausage, juice, 24/7 coffee/tea, breads/bagels, cereals, fruit, but my favorite was the automatic pancake machine! You put your plate on one end, wave your hand over the sensor and Viola! Two globs of pancake batter plop down on a conveyor belt and you can watch them cook! And they were actually really good! This hotel is also located near many of Hershey's shops, wineries, etc and is a definite must stay when I'm in town again!

This is a fantastic location. Overall the hotel is great, I was just taken back on the nightly price, until I heard there was a big concert in town and likely that raised average prices all around town. The facility is flawless. Perfect for business stay or leisure stay. I am a huge fan of this Tru concept by Hilton. Ac and tv size along with bed comfort were perfect. I'll stay at any Tru hotel any chance I get.

Back in town and decided to give this place another try. The room was ready when we checked in. The room was very clean and very warm but luckily there were no issues with turning on the AC. I was surprised at the number of dogs that were staying in the hotel but noise was not a problem. When we were leaving our room we saw them actually cleaning carpets. Glad we tried it again. Great location to restaurants and the outlets.

It was a better experience this time around as far as the room goes. The last time we were here the room was so stuffy and dusty that me and my daughter were both very sick and were having problems breathing. This time the room was very clean and we had no issues. The only thing that was a bummer was the pool situation. We happened to come in when there was a kids soccer tournament and the place was over crowded with people everywhere. We called before we came and the woman said we would be able to go in the pool, but when we got there the woman said there was a list and it was full! SMH. Me my daughter and niece were so bummed about the pool because we had plans to be in it most of the time we were in Hershey. We also had our bathing suits so it was a bummer cause we packed them for no reason. Wish the woman wouldve told us there was a list, and we wouldve gotten on it ahead of time if so. Overall the experience was okay though. Next time I will ask more questions so we arent screwed over on the pool and surrounded by tons of people, when we wanted to be away from people.

My first time ever at a Tru. I have to admit when I first walked in I was not happy with NO amenities in my room especially a safe. I'd love for them to get rid of the mini fridge & put in a safe. It took some getting used to to go down to the lobby for tea or coffee instead of having it in my room especially because I'm awake really early in the morning. The lobby is so cozy! I sat reading a book and coloring. Coffee and tea are both good. Now, here is the best part: the staff here is AWESOME!!!! I watched, listened, and interacted with many of them on our 2 day stay. Warm greetings, friendly smiles, and above & beyond service. My friend came to spend the day with me & she was in my room for a few hours while we watched a movie. She lives in a house with smokers. The smell lingered in my room. The awesome young person working the front desk who didn't have a room freshener to sell me also didn't let me go spend money on Febreze somewhere else. This person went to the house keeping supplies & sent me up to my room with a bottle. I feel like it worked miracles & I could comfortably sleep in my room with a fresh smell. Comfort! The mattress and bed frame are simple, but comfortable. I loved the variety of pillows and since it was just me in my room I could surround myself with them. While there is no closests or drawers, there is plenty of shelves and places to put your things. It's really all you need but sometimes I prefer the things I want too. The shower was small & made me feel claustrophobic but I just opened the shower door which helped. I didn't use their shampoo or conditioner, but the body soap is nice. It didn't leave me with that tight dry skin feel. The hotel is reasonably priced and "Tru"ly a relaxing comfortable space with a small gym and pool.

Stay: April 2022 Recently spent two nights here for a weekend trip to Hershey Park and had a pleasant stay. We arrived on Saturday before the 3pm check-in. I called and asked if there was a possibility we could check in earlier. The woman working front desk was kind enough to check and moved us to a room that would be available for earlier check-in. Lobby: This hotel is definitely catered to families with children. Upon entering the hotel, there is soft and hard seating, couple of foosball tables & TV for entertainment. This is the same area where complimentary breakfast is served. Sleeping Rooms: The rooms were decent sized, modern & clean. Love the laminate floors as they are easier to clean and sanitize. No closet, but there was a wall with 6 hooks and a bar with a few hangers. Mini-fridge was nice to have to store drinks. Complimentary Breakfast: Very typical of what you would normally see at these hotels. Some sort of powederd egg dish (scrambled one morning and a an omelette the next), a breakfast meat (sausage patty, sausage link), bagels, toast, english muffins, assortment of cereal, pancake maker, yogurt, bananas and apples. The kids LOVED the pancakes. It was nice to grab a quick bite before starting a long day at the park. Indoor Pool: open during our stay from 6am-10pm. Small, but enough to keep kids happy and entertained. Final verdict: Would definitely recommend and would be happy to stay here again if traveling back to Hershey Park.

Stayed here for a long birthday weekend from VA. It is a…read morevery clean & small hotel with 5 floors & plenty of parking. The larger studio with 2 Queen Beds & pull out sofa is very spacious with 4 adults but can accommodate 5. There is a partitioned room /work space from the sleeping area, but no door. There are also two TVs. The other tv is located in the work space/separate sitting area with a pull out sofa, coffee table, & a pull out work table & office chair. There are numerous outlets, however some of the sockets were "loose" the plugs wouldn't stay secure in the outlet. But fortunately we remedied this by using other available outlets near the floor lamps. I was relieved when my friend & I pulled out the sofa bed, because sometimes you never know what kind of "surprise" you might find. The sofa bed was really clean & looked relatively new. My friend reported that the bed was a bit stiff but was fine. The AC unit worked like a charm! I do like the full sized shampoo/conditioner & body wash. It's very convenient. A hair dryer is provided for convenience. I do make it a point to search for hotels with a microwave & mini fridge. It's super helpful for road trips for your bottled water or beverages to keep cold & store leftovers. Water pressure was good, as well as the temperature. The only thing that was disappointing was the every other day housekeeping. Although this is mentioned in their website. Breakfast was fairly extensive, with a mixture of cold & hot items such as make your own waffles with options of bottled toppings aside from syrup, toast, bagels, yogurt, cold cereal, oatmeal, bananas, apples, oranges, jams, jellies, & three hot items that would vary on occasion of a frittata, or an omelette, and a type of sausage, either pork or turkey varying on the day. There were friendly employees tending the breakfast area with a smile, ensuring the areas stayed clean & items were replenished & for assistance if needed. Juices & milk were available. While the tea & coffee were at a separate area in the dining area. While it became busy, there was still plenty of seating & no back ups with obtaining food. Sometimes, I wonder exactly what people are looking for when it comes to "complementary" breakfast, when they refer to the breakfast as being garbage or inedible. Clearly you're not going to have eggs Benedict or avocado toast & customized smoothies. If a hotel provides numerous options that also include hot items, I get pretty excited. Haha, it's when it's a continental breakfast that consists of JUST bananas, apple or a bagel & yogurt or a thrown in granola bar is when the disappointment arrives for me. Honestly, it's a nice convenience to have breakfast included so you don't start your day off hangry or trying to figure out where you're going for breakfast. It saves time, & it essentially saves money. It definitely is close to Chocolate World, Hershey Park & a 5 minutes drive from The Hershey Story, Chocolate Avenue Grill & Au Bon Lieu! Roughly a 45 minute drive to Strasburg RR, and a 35 minute drive to Turkey Hill Experience. There is a CVS within walking distance down the block, and an Exxon a block away on the other side of the hotel. The post office across the street is an Annex, so if you need to mail something off, there is a post office near the Hershey Story Museum, behind the Starbucks area. Although places are within walking distance, the streets are not ,that lead to the restaurants. There is no sidewalk until you reach a far way down. Overall, this is a good choice for a hotel if you want to be "centrally" located to Lancaster & other activities outside Downtown Hershey. It's in an unassuming area that seems out of place, but it's convenient, clean, spacious, includes breakfast, parking is included, has a microwave & mini fridge so it ticks off all the boxes for me. Plus the staff were kind & friendly & the hotel looked fresh & beautiful. The indoor pool is small & only 4 feet deep I believe, so if a pool is a deal breaker, this might be a no go for you. Ps if you want a surface to eat on because you don't feel like dining out & you order take away, you can roll that office table between the two beds & use it as a dining table.

Just finished a six night stay…read more We stayed in large room. It had two queens and a pullout. There was a desk area. Also had a small microwave and small fridge. The room felt dark-with decor in particular. Breakfast every morning. Had your typical breakfast- waffle maker waffles, cereal, bagels, eggs, a breakfast meat, yogurt, fruit, juices. They also had coffee that was out 24/7. Has a small indoor pool and a nice exercise room. Hershey Park during summer months have concerts that you can hear from the sound from your room. So if you go to bed early this may be an important factor. Rooms didn't really have a refresh. I was lucky if trash was taken out and we got new towels without asking. Not a bed made once. I miss those days of coming back to a nicely made bed. I guess those days are long gone? Also, the week we were there lots of kids which were running around the lobby like it was a playground. Overall my stay was okay. I might book here again if I was in the area but I would also consider a different spot as well.

The rooms felt dated - particularly the bathroom, where the wallpaper was peeling and the bathtub showed its age. The overall décor could benefit from a refresh. Small touches would also make a difference; for example, swapping the chocolate bar welcome for liquid body wash instead of bar soap would feel more practical and modern. I stayed for a conference, and while the buffet food was decent, the desserts were the standout - especially the brownies, cookies, and flourless chocolate cake. Those were definitely a win. The waterpark was a lot of fun for the kids and a big highlight of the stay. That said, it would be great if both the waterpark and on-site restaurants had extended hours, especially on weekends, to better accommodate families. A few logistical frustrations stood out as well. The check-in line was extremely long, so be prepared to wait - it would be a huge improvement if they offered a virtual check-in option. Additionally, room service does not come during multi-day stays, which was disappointing. A simple refresh between days would go a long way in improving the guest experience. Overall, it's a pleasant place with family-friendly features, but it didn't quite live up to other resort experiences I've had. With the exception of someone I spoke to on the phone who was incredibly rude, the morning before we checked in when I called to make sure we could stay in the same room for both of our nights (split reservation)... the entire staff was pleasant and helpful. But I really have to give major kudos and credit to the breakfast staff! Suffice it to say, breakfast time gets BUSY around 8:00/9:00 on a weekend morning. They were on top of keeping everything stocked and navigating around lines of people (seriously the waffle line was like 10 people deep). One gentleman in particular (and I wish I had gotten his name) was super helpful after a kid stuck his whole hand into a bowl of chocolate chips so we needed to ask for a replacement. The hotel shows signs of age and nothing is perfect (the shower head was SO HIGH I had to stand on tiptoes to just adjust the stream) but overall it was a good stay. The bed was comfortable... maybe a little firm... but I was THRILLED to find they do do use the crappy down pillows that every other Hilton Brand seems to use. The ones that support your head for about 30 seconds. So this made for a much more restful night of sleep. And of course it is pet friendly with a convenient doggie station on a decent size grassy area that spans the back of the hotel. I WOULD recommend that housekeeping pay a bit more attention to what toiletries they hang in the shower (LOVE LOVE the full size ones that not only cut down on waste but also mean our whole family of four isn't trying to make one tiny bottle of Neutrogena last). The reason I say that is because we didn't have shampoo in our shower. We had shower gel, conditioner, and LOTION. Haha. We're Diamond members so have stayed in a few Hilton properties. And many of them Hamptons. I was not disappointed with this stay. With its proximity to the park (easy in and out), it's a good deal.
