Stayed at this location for an extended weekend with my husband and newborn son while we were in town celebrating our Anniversary and Easter. You're not coming to Hershey to spend time in the hotel room, so Tru was exactly what we needed. The room wasn't huge, but it was big enough, and the bed was comfortable. The shower served its purpose and was clean and well-designed. I actually did make use of the fitness center which wasn't huge but had a nice variety of machinery and free weight equipment, and the front desk agents were wonderful. We didn't stay for breakfast but the setup looked excellent, and lots of fun things to do in the lobby as well like foosball. Minutes from all of the Hershey attractions by car with free parking, so you can't beat this hotel in the area! read more

Stayed one night over May 2, 2026. Woke up to see that a corner of the mattress was exposed, and that it had a big, yellow stain on it. Pulled back all of the bedding and discovered that about 25% of the entire mattress had similar yellow, urine-looking stains on it. Told the front desk and showed them pictures. The room was not comped. The room was dinky and ugly. Heard every noise from the hallways and other rooms. Am beyond disguste. Will absolutely never stay at this or any other Hilton property again!! Loved our weekend at Tru and would absolutely recommend and stay again. Pros- - Great location! Only 5-10 min from all the Hershey attractions and downtown. 15 min from the Indian Caverns cave, which is also a must visit. Also a CVS and gas station nearby - The night hosts who checked us in (David) were fabulous. Gave us helpful suggestions about dining and parking in the area. - Plenty of luggage carts - love that there is a night light in the bathroom and plenty of towels - swimming pool and water filter to refill bottles - free breakfast on the weekends: sausage, eggs, oatmeal, fresh pancakes, and plenty of different types of searing. - fuse ball table and other games downstairs - the soap and shampoos in the bathroom actually lather!! - so many hooks to hang stuff (so convenient) and a mini fridge! Cons - the water pressure is low in the shower and the water feels soft. It felt like forever to get the soap off. - the toilet paper rolls were nearly empty when we checked in, but I was easily able to pick some more up in the morning. Side note - when looking for restaurants in the area, I would not recommend Fenicci's of Hershey. I'm not writing this directly on their Yelp because the owner doesn't respond well to constructive criticism, but chances are if you're staying at Tru you'll look for restaurants downtown and Fenicci's will come up. Their service was great (so hardworking) and they clearly have their usual patrons (they throw cast parties for the theater downtown), and while the pasta was cooked perfectly, I unfortunately found their meat to be inedible -- the meatballs tasted like microwaved, indiscernible meat (they use the same meat for their lasagna) and their chicken was chewy and rubbery. There are many other places downtown which the Tru staff will help point you to. read more

Solid, albeit the a/c when it turned heat on smelled like burning... So we had to turn it completely off to avoid the smell. Busy, though - all the double queen rooms were booked. Bed and facilities were comfortable, and folks at the desk for check out and check in were friendly. Breakfast was all you can eat continental breakfast items and other hot and cold selections in the lobby. While I'm not a fan of the eggs (scrambled), they did have boiled eggs you could ask for in the back. Sausage wasn't bad, and oatmeal/cereal was standard. The pancake machines are always fun for the kids but the lines get long. All the basics, and nice and simple process in and out. Bathroom clean and the seating in the lobby gets full quickly around breakfast. Foos ball table actually had a ball, too. 10min away from the park. Free parking, too. Gym on the smaller side - was completely full at 7:30a! Had to take the kids to warm up outside. Room had plenty of bench/table spots to put items on. Didn't see a safe, or a closet, though. Just barebones which was ok. Fake hardwood floors which I like much more than carpet. Beds corners a bit sharp... watch your shins. read more

Very comfortable place to stay and close to Hershey World. Although a little off the main road, it allows for the area to be quiet. Friendly staff who were were very helpful on a couple questions we had. Rooms were rather spacious and comfortable. Was nive they had the ammenities in the shower so we used those. Breakfast was a little lacking, but they had a couple nice waffle makes which were easy to use. read more

This was my first time at a Tru by Hilton hotel and I really enjoyed my stay. This is situated in a residential neighborhood right off Chocolate Avenue. Parking is around back. I loved the vibe and the colors as soon as I walked into the lobby. They have a giant lobby with a TV and two foosball tables and lots of seating. My room was small but cozy and the bed was comfy. Everything was very clean and staff was friendly. The included breakfast in the morning was decent -- egg white fritatas, oatmeal, turkey sausage, juice, 24/7 coffee/tea, breads/bagels, cereals, fruit, but my favorite was the automatic pancake machine! You put your plate on one end, wave your hand over the sensor and Viola! Two globs of pancake batter plop down on a conveyor belt and you can watch them cook! And they were actually really good! This hotel is also located near many of Hershey's shops, wineries, etc and is a definite must stay when I'm in town again! read more

My family, in-laws, and brother in-law with his family were traveling to Hershey, PA for a short mini-vacation at Hershey Park. We were concern about having the right room type and location since we were 6 adults and 13 minors. The youngest was 3 and the oldest was 15 years old. So we stopped at the Tru on our way back from Ohio to pick up our new fur baby. We had been at the Hershey Hotel the night before - which we do like a lot except it was expensive and didn't allow dogs - hence since Tru did - we had to stay here on the way back. WELL - we loved it! The staff was awesome, beds comfortable, breakfast bar perfect for what you need and yes - they let you bring the fur kids!! I am super picky about hotels and was very pleased with the modern esthetics of the hotel as well. Of course having an adorable puppy does stop people dead in their tracks but this is so great if you do travel with your dog (or pet) - we will definitely see Hershey this way the next time - less expensive, totally comfortable, pet friendly and you get breakfast to boot!!! read more

Tru is one of my fav Hilton brands. Affordable and nice. Comfy bed, good bathroom, great A/C, and fridge in the room. (And that's all I really need.) Coffee and tea are available 24/7 in the lobby. Very disappointing experience. I booked a night at Tru by Hilton in Hershey directly through the Hilton website, which stated I was getting the "Best Available Rate." That turned out to be misleading. I paid over $300 for the room, only to see it listed significantly cheaper on Hilton's own website during my stay. When I asked the front desk about the price drop, the response was curt and unhelpful -- no effort to resolve the issue or even acknowledge the frustration. The room was much smaller than the photos made it look, which felt deceptive. It was clean, but extremely cramped and not worth the price. This experience has turned me off from the Tru brand completely, and I'm seriously reconsidering staying with Hilton at all in the future. There are better hotel chains out there that are more transparent and treat their guests with more respect. read more

Back in town and decided to give this place another try. The room was ready when we checked in. The room was very clean and very warm but luckily there were no issues with turning on the AC. I was surprised at the number of dogs that were staying in the hotel but noise was not a problem. When we were leaving our room we saw them actually cleaning carpets. Glad we tried it again. The line to make pancakes was ridiculously long, had to wait for everything to be refilled. The lady working there to refill everything was complaining she was so busy, okayyyy well maybe work smarter not harder...bring out 2 packs of bagels instead of 1, 10 eggs instead of 4, etc. Management needs to go over expectations with food services. Front desk staff was nice and cleaning staff promptly took away my dirty towels and replaced them when I let them know I was leaving in the afternoon. It was a better experience this time around as far as the room goes. The last time we were here the room was so stuffy and dusty that me and my daughter were both very sick and were having problems breathing. This time the room was very clean and we had no issues. The only thing that was a bummer was the pool situation. We happened to come in when there was a kids soccer tournament and the place was over crowded with people everywhere. We called before we came and the woman said we would be able to go in the pool, but when we got there the woman said there was a list and it was full! SMH. Me my daughter and niece were so bummed about the pool because we had plans to be in it most of the time we were in Hershey. We also had our bathing suits so it was a bummer cause we packed them for no reason. Wish the woman wouldve told us there was a list, and we wouldve gotten on it ahead of time if so. Overall the experience was okay though. Next time I will ask more questions so we arent screwed over on the pool and surrounded by tons of people, when we wanted to be away from people. read more

My first time ever at a Tru. I have to admit when I first walked in I was not happy with NO amenities in my room especially a safe. I'd love for them to get rid of the mini fridge & put in a safe. It took some getting used to to go down to the lobby for tea or coffee instead of having it in my room especially because I'm awake really early in the morning. The lobby is so cozy! I sat reading a book and coloring. Coffee and tea are both good. Now, here is the best part: the staff here is AWESOME!!!! I watched, listened, and interacted with many of them on our 2 day stay. Warm greetings, friendly smiles, and above & beyond service. My friend came to spend the day with me & she was in my room for a few hours while we watched a movie. She lives in a house with smokers. The smell lingered in my room. The awesome young person working the front desk who didn't have a room freshener to sell me also didn't let me go spend money on Febreze somewhere else. This person went to the house keeping supplies & sent me up to my room with a bottle. I feel like it worked miracles & I could comfortably sleep in my room with a fresh smell. Comfort! The mattress and bed frame are simple, but comfortable. I loved the variety of pillows and since it was just me in my room I could surround myself with them. While there is no closests or drawers, there is plenty of shelves and places to put your things. It's really all you need but sometimes I prefer the things I want too. The shower was small & made me feel claustrophobic but I just opened the shower door which helped. I didn't use their shampoo or conditioner, but the body soap is nice. It didn't leave me with that tight dry skin feel. The hotel is reasonably priced and "Tru"ly a relaxing comfortable space with a small gym and pool. read more

Stay: April 2022 Recently spent two nights here for a weekend trip to Hershey Park and had a pleasant stay. We arrived on Saturday before the 3pm check-in. I called and asked if there was a possibility we could check in earlier. The woman working front desk was kind enough to check and moved us to a room that would be available for earlier check-in. Lobby: This hotel is definitely catered to families with children. Upon entering the hotel, there is soft and hard seating, couple of foosball tables & TV for entertainment. This is the same area where complimentary breakfast is served. Sleeping Rooms: The rooms were decent sized, modern & clean. Love the laminate floors as they are easier to clean and sanitize. No closet, but there was a wall with 6 hooks and a bar with a few hangers. Mini-fridge was nice to have to store drinks. Complimentary Breakfast: Very typical of what you would normally see at these hotels. Some sort of powederd egg dish (scrambled one morning and a an omelette the next), a breakfast meat (sausage patty, sausage link), bagels, toast, english muffins, assortment of cereal, pancake maker, yogurt, bananas and apples. The kids LOVED the pancakes. It was nice to grab a quick bite before starting a long day at the park. Indoor Pool: open during our stay from 6am-10pm. Small, but enough to keep kids happy and entertained. Final verdict: Would definitely recommend and would be happy to stay here again if traveling back to Hershey Park. read more

A beautiful modern and sleek hotel that has got many great qualities. Check-in is a snap and the people there really are friendly and knowledgeable. Coffee is available 24/7 and the breakfast spread in the morning has plenty to offer. Constantly restocked and cleaned by a friendly attendant, it really is a great way to start off your morning. On the cool-o-meter scale, the pancake machines are super. Pancakes on demand is a nice touch. The only problem with this idea is that there are only two of these machines and the wait time can get plenty long with everyone looking to make a dash for the nearby theme park. Maybe it's possible to make a bunch on the griddle in the back to cut down on the wait time for those that want pancakes but don't want to wait for the novelty of the machine. However, fresh fruit and cereal and granola abound along with bagels and eggs and bacon or sausage. Overall a great breakfast on your stay. Other amenities include a nice indoor pool that seems heated with nice couches and lounge chairs and a recreation area with foosball tables and board games. Rooms were clean and well decorated with plenty of space to spread out. Turns out the floors are a plus and a minus here. On the good side, they are clean and tiled. On the bad side, they are tiled. If a person walks upstairs, your guaranteed to here that throughout your stay. That's my main reason for not giving a fifth star. It is, after all, a place to sleep. I stayed at this hotel for one night and had a great experience! The hotel is conveniently located on Hershey Chocolate Avenue and is located about a 10 minute drive from all the Hershey attractions to include the hotel Hershey and the Hershey museum. The hotel offers free parking. As for the hotel itself, we had a regular room with a king bed. The hotel itself is very clean, modern and beautiful. Our room was amply large, clean and beautifully decorated. Their lotion smelled beautiful! I was obsessed with it! We had a wonderful stay that night, the hotel was quiet and we slept peacefully. Thus, I will be definitely staying here again in the future when I am in Hershey. It is conveniently located to all the main attractions in Hershey and has everything we needed! read more

Best hotel stay in a long time! Located right in the heart of all things Hershey. A newer Tru by Hilton, only about a year old and very well maintained. Everything was meticulously clean. Our handicap room was generous with space and convenience. I love that they skipped the yucky carpet and opted for more modern finishes. The staff was THE BEST! Always friendly, greeted us every time we entered. Josh took great care of us one night, when we had a million questions and my kids wanted to use everything, including the pool. He was kind enough to show us around and make sure we had everything we needed. He was quick to offer up restaurant recommendations and even had menus for us to preview. He knew we were on a road trip, and even offered to see if there was another Tru on our way that he could help us book. Top notch customer service. The gentleman working the day we checked out, offered to help me load things in the car. I wish I had gotten his name. Everyone was sooooo friendly! Covid details: Masks required at all times, in all areas of the hotel. No housekeeping, unless requested. If you need towels or any other amenities, just ask and they're quick to get them. Breakfast is grab and go but still plentiful. We were full and had snacks left to carry us through the day. Lobby has limited seating, and most areas had limited capacity. We have frequented many of the Tru Hilton's and loved them all. This one unfortunately fell short of expectations. When we arrived to the room there was some sort of stain all over the wall. For such a small room, the air never stayed at a consistent temperature. Mattress SUCKED! And so much fun to hit your shin on the bed frame corners that stick out way to far in such a small room. Staff was super nice however, so one star for that. And one star for streaming services. Always a plus. Overall, NEVER staying here again. Oh and fyi we were in room 506. read more

The location is great - just a short drive to all the attractions and restaurants. The staff here are exceptionally nice and helpful. I thought the lobby was cool with the Hershey mural and the breakfast in the AM has all the basics to keep everyone happy to include my toddler. I like that they have a water bottle refilling station and the room was well appointed and comfortable. The only drawback (and lack of 5 stars) is that the room floor could have been a lot cleaner. There was a considerable amount of dirt (and hair, yuck!). I essentially had to take some Lysol wipes and clean the floor myself, especially since I had my toddler son with me who would play on the floor. I'm not sure if this issue is a one off or something more systemic but otherwise had a great stay here. read more

The toilet was used when we checked into room. No where to set luggage so you can use your luggage as a drawer. I wouldn't mind the minimal essentials but it cost $250 a night. No in room coffee either but they do have coffee at breakfast in the lobby. Also ac unit at base of window so you'll have that compressor noise. read more

Racist Racist Racist I was just racially profiled at this hotel. I was denied check in, and told that there were no rooms available. I walked out to go to my car, only to notice a white family being able to check in behind me with no issues. I went back in and the manager Kori, informed me that she checked in the white family because he had 5 days worth of stuff with him. The hotel is very clean and nice, however my front desk experience made me not want to even stay here or any Hilton ever again!! I'm still waiting for the corporate office to call me back with some sort of resolution, however I doubt if It will help them to understand that racism is real and is very serious. FRIENDLY STAFF, BUT... The front desk staff Steve was pleasant and welcoming upon check-in. He provided me with a welcome bag and made our check-in seamless. He was able to get us a room that was ready around 1:00 pm, however the room that was given to us didn't seem clean. The housekeeper working in the hallway of the 5th floor was very kind, However the room could've been prepared better. The pillows were smashed in the middle and the pillow cases were sloppy and not tucked in neatly. The sheets were wrinkly and it looked like someone had already slept in it. The furniture was a little dusty, and the restroom had a stench of mold or wet animal. Since we were told at the front desk, that the original room that we booked was not available yet, and that this was the next available room right above it, my husband and I did not request for a room change. We decided to keep the room and just be thankful to get checked-in prior to check in time. The lady who works at the breakfast area on 26th Saturday was very funny and she replenished the breakfast trays in a timely manner. The pool water was not warm, and it was a little cold for my children. Upon check out, I mentioned that we could feel a vibration coming from somewhere in the room. We could hear a faint frequency coming from somewhere. This frequency did not bother me nor my children but my husband had a massive headache from this. I expressed this experience to the front desk staff at check-out only so they can take notes about this room, to avoid placing a guest with sensitive hearing in the future. I was told by Front desk Staff at check-out that this sound was coming from the roof. Our overall experience was nice, everybody was delightful, but I am giving it a 4 out of 5 because of the the room's condition upon check-in, and the sound that gave my husband a massive headache. Pros: -Acceptably clean -"Wood" floors make it nice to remove pet hair from the rooms -Close to convenient stores and restaurants -The staff are pretty amazing (with the exception of the larger breakfast woman). Every other staff member was polite, helpful, and friendly. They seemed interested in our stay, gracious for our business, and eager to provide any information or help we needed. We didn't meet kinder people in PA than these folks so kudos for good customer service. -Complimentary breakfast and the pancakes are soooo good! The automated maker is super fun too -Nice, clean, comfortable area in the lobby to eat breakfast -The best hand soap, lotion, shampoo and Conditioner dispensers ever! Like, I want them for my own house. They have Great scents as well. The shampoo made my hair so soft. The hand soap was not a tiny bar like most places offer, it was more of a gel soap. -Big, spacious room. Nice big bench we used to put our two big rolling suitcases on -plenty of plugs and USB outlets -6 coat hooks in the entry way to hang jackets and backpacks which was Brilliant!! I've never seen a hotel with this but it just make perfect sense to have them. -more hooks for towels and such in the bathroom -Nice, big shower with hot hot water. -Extra towels already provided in the room. Usually you have to beg the maids for extra towels but this hotel has them already available when you arrive. Such a small touch goes a long way. Cons: -This is a pet friendly hotel. I have allergies to animals and I've stayed in pet friendly hotels before. Because of this, when I made the reservation I made sure to ask if they had any rooms that were strictly no pets for those with allergies. The answer was "yes, I will make sure your reservation is for one of those rooms and I'll put a note on your account". When we arrived and settled into our room, within 5 minutes I was wheezing and used my inhaler. It was manageable and I was able to stay the night, but it was a noticeable allergic reaction. Either the room was actually animal friendly Or the comforters and sheets are not washed completely or with the correct soap to remove the pet allergens. (This note is meant to notify those with allergies so they can make an informed decision). -The first thing I always check in a hotel is if the shower is clean and hair free. Unfortunately, right away I found a "down there" looking hair right next to the temperature knob. Kind of gross but it's happened at so many hotels that sadly, I am no longer freaked out by it. -Restaurant in the parking lot was closed at 6pm on Thursday night. Then on Friday night they said every table was reserved by 6 pm (although only one table had people at it when we went inside). We Had to drive to find dinner both nights but only a mile or two away. -Loud neighbors and thin walls. You can hear the neighbors above walking around and talking. You can hear the neighbors in the hallways and the rooms next door talking, slamming doors, and everything else. We had three kids playing tag or racing from wall to walk right above us for over two hours one night. It was so loud we couldn't hear our tv. The hotel should book kids on the lower levels because this was quite ridiculous. The bed in the room that backed up to our headboard had a person with sleep apnea staying in it. This neighbor snored so loudly it woke myself and my husband up twice in the night. -Extremely loud vibrating heater unit. This also woke both of us up in the night, each time it turned on. But it did keep the room warm and we were able to go back to sleep quickly. Overall, I would recommend this place for a comfortable, friendly stay close to downtown Hershey. read more

The rooms have recycling bins and they have lotions, shampoo, and soaps that are in refill stations saving plastic bottles! It's in a safe location and conveniently located to just about everything. Rooms were noted to be cleaned with Lysol and there was a hot breakfast. The room itself was nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed and lots of outlets. Great choice! read more

The Good: A family member booked our reservation, but it's my understanding that this place is relatively inexpensive. It's close to Hershey Park. The breakfast bar is decent (nice options, toppings, etc.) if you can get to it early (before 8am). However we stayed on a holiday and the breakfast bar turned into Mad Max's Thunderdome at around 8:30. USB charging ports throughout the room is pretty sweet. Overall, the hotel *looks* very nice. The Bad: The place feels like a "pop up hotel". Everything, and I mean everything, feels cheap. The furniture feels cheap, the decorations feel cheap, the construction feels cheap, and the staff seems somewhat untrained - if and when you can find them. I'm also not talking about cheap as in "this furniture is ugly" cheap but more "this furniture weighs a fraction of what it should and a child is going to fall off and hurt themselves" cheap. From the ottomans that are positioned around the foosball table to the janky high-top chairs in the lounge area. I hope Tru has good insurance in place. Also, my son dropped something under the "dresser" so I moved the dresser to help him (which was easy because it weighed like 7 pounds). I immediately regretted my decision. The amount of dirt, trash, and grime under the "dresser" made me want to run to an urgent care and get a tetanus shot. I'm partly kidding, but this was gross and a real head scratcher ('has anyone EVER moved this dresser aside from me?'). The Ugly: My hand got stuck in the elevator. Keep in mind, I'm not an accident prone person and I've never had an appendage get stuck in an elevator EVER before in my life. I literally had to yank my hand out from between the elevator door and the wall. Also, my wife was setting up a (janky) crib in our room and pinched her hand in it. We called the front desk and asked them to help, which they did, and when they were in our room they said ("yeah, we have to help set up these cribs all the time!"). To which I thought "so get different cribs!!!". Also, the walls are paper thin, so consider bringing earplugs or asking for a room on the top floor at the end of the hall.
