Solid, albeit the a/c when it turned heat on smelled like burning... So we had to turn it completely off to avoid the smell. Busy, though - all the double queen rooms were booked. Bed and facilities were comfortable, and folks at the desk for check out and check in were friendly. Breakfast was all you can eat continental breakfast items and other hot and cold selections in the lobby. While I'm not a fan of the eggs (scrambled), they did have boiled eggs you could ask for in the back. Sausage wasn't bad, and oatmeal/cereal was standard. The pancake machines are always fun for the kids but the lines get long. All the basics, and nice and simple process in and out. Bathroom clean and the seating in the lobby gets full quickly around breakfast. Foos ball table actually had a ball, too. 10min away from the park. Free parking, too. Gym on the smaller side - was completely full at 7:30a! Had to take the kids to warm up outside. Room had plenty of bench/table spots to put items on. Didn't see a safe, or a closet, though. Just barebones which was ok. Fake hardwood floors which I like much more than carpet. Beds corners a bit sharp... watch your shins.

Nice new hotel. In town to visit hersey. The hotel was very nice and the man at the counter was very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay here- and the pancake machine!

This was my first time at a Tru by Hilton hotel and I really enjoyed my stay. This is situated in a residential neighborhood right off Chocolate Avenue. Parking is around back. I loved the vibe and the colors as soon as I walked into the lobby. They have a giant lobby with a TV and two foosball tables and lots of seating. My room was small but cozy and the bed was comfy. Everything was very clean and staff was friendly. The included breakfast in the morning was decent -- egg white fritatas, oatmeal, turkey sausage, juice, 24/7 coffee/tea, breads/bagels, cereals, fruit, but my favorite was the automatic pancake machine! You put your plate on one end, wave your hand over the sensor and Viola! Two globs of pancake batter plop down on a conveyor belt and you can watch them cook! And they were actually really good! This hotel is also located near many of Hershey's shops, wineries, etc and is a definite must stay when I'm in town again!

This is a fantastic location. Overall the hotel is great, I was just taken back on the nightly price, until I heard there was a big concert in town and likely that raised average prices all around town. The facility is flawless. Perfect for business stay or leisure stay. I am a huge fan of this Tru concept by Hilton. Ac and tv size along with bed comfort were perfect. I'll stay at any Tru hotel any chance I get.

Back in town and decided to give this place another try. The room was ready when we checked in. The room was very clean and very warm but luckily there were no issues with turning on the AC. I was surprised at the number of dogs that were staying in the hotel but noise was not a problem. When we were leaving our room we saw them actually cleaning carpets. Glad we tried it again. Great location to restaurants and the outlets.

It was a better experience this time around as far as the room goes. The last time we were here the room was so stuffy and dusty that me and my daughter were both very sick and were having problems breathing. This time the room was very clean and we had no issues. The only thing that was a bummer was the pool situation. We happened to come in when there was a kids soccer tournament and the place was over crowded with people everywhere. We called before we came and the woman said we would be able to go in the pool, but when we got there the woman said there was a list and it was full! SMH. Me my daughter and niece were so bummed about the pool because we had plans to be in it most of the time we were in Hershey. We also had our bathing suits so it was a bummer cause we packed them for no reason. Wish the woman wouldve told us there was a list, and we wouldve gotten on it ahead of time if so. Overall the experience was okay though. Next time I will ask more questions so we arent screwed over on the pool and surrounded by tons of people, when we wanted to be away from people.

My first time ever at a Tru. I have to admit when I first walked in I was not happy with NO amenities in my room especially a safe. I'd love for them to get rid of the mini fridge & put in a safe. It took some getting used to to go down to the lobby for tea or coffee instead of having it in my room especially because I'm awake really early in the morning. The lobby is so cozy! I sat reading a book and coloring. Coffee and tea are both good. Now, here is the best part: the staff here is AWESOME!!!! I watched, listened, and interacted with many of them on our 2 day stay. Warm greetings, friendly smiles, and above & beyond service. My friend came to spend the day with me & she was in my room for a few hours while we watched a movie. She lives in a house with smokers. The smell lingered in my room. The awesome young person working the front desk who didn't have a room freshener to sell me also didn't let me go spend money on Febreze somewhere else. This person went to the house keeping supplies & sent me up to my room with a bottle. I feel like it worked miracles & I could comfortably sleep in my room with a fresh smell. Comfort! The mattress and bed frame are simple, but comfortable. I loved the variety of pillows and since it was just me in my room I could surround myself with them. While there is no closests or drawers, there is plenty of shelves and places to put your things. It's really all you need but sometimes I prefer the things I want too. The shower was small & made me feel claustrophobic but I just opened the shower door which helped. I didn't use their shampoo or conditioner, but the body soap is nice. It didn't leave me with that tight dry skin feel. The hotel is reasonably priced and "Tru"ly a relaxing comfortable space with a small gym and pool.

The room felt dark-with decor in particular. Breakfast every morning. Had your typical breakfast- waffle maker waffles, cereal, bagels, eggs, a breakfast meat, yogurt, fruit, juices. They also had coffee that was out 24/7. Has a small indoor pool and a nice exercise room. Hershey Park during summer months have concerts that you can hear from the sound from your room. So if you go to bed early this may be an important factor. Rooms didn't really have a refresh. I was lucky if trash was taken out and we got new towels without asking. Not a bed made once. I miss those days of coming back to a nicely made bed. I guess those days are long gone? Also, the week we were there lots of kids which were running around the lobby like it was a playground. Overall my stay was okay. I might book here again if I was in the area but I would also consider a different spot as well.

I would like to preface this review with the fact that I have been in service my entire life,…read moreincluding managing a hotel myself. I currently work for American Airlines at the Charlotte Douglas Airport. The front desk agent Matt - caused me to walk away from a prepaid reservation and pay to stay at the Hilton Hershey property instead. Which was amazing, by the way! I had a reservation for 6/15, and had called the week before to reconfirm an early check in. After working my 8-9-hour shift, I drove over 7 hours straight to Hershey PA to take my elderly mother to a concert at Hershey Stadium. Once arriving at the Fairfield, Matt brusquely replied that I did not have a reservation. I explained to him that a Marriott Vacation Club Member had gifted me the room and it was registered in my name as well as theirs. He then "found it" and told me there would be no early check in although I had confirmed, and I would have to wait until after 4pm. Mind you it is 11am, and at this point I have been awake well over 24 hours and am feeling faint. He was so nasty, I took a step back to take a calming breath. He was then so rude to the next lady (in front of her children as well) that she exclaimed "is this how you treat Marriott Bonvoy Members? WOW!" I knew I was unable to reason with this individual, and I was too exhausted to escalate the issue. So, I simply left and took my business elsewhere. I called today after some thought on the matter, hoping to give grace, and it was Matt who answered the phone. He was disdainful, snide, would not provide me with the GM's name or email and disconnected the call. I called Marriott Bonvoy myself and got the information I needed. Matt is ABSOLUTELY NOT the person Guests should EVER see and interact with upon entering a Marriott property. A welcoming smile and spirit of kindness is necessary in our industry. Matt has none of these qualities. Like I relayed to Corporate, Matt is most definitely a cause of loss of revenue for this location. On a more positive note, Zira and Melisa at The Hampton Inn Hershey saved the day! Highly recommend!!!

Since it was a lovely day, the girls and I dined outside and spent most of the day on the grounds, since the spa tends to be busy on weekends, especially Saturday. At the lounge there is always something to do/eat/drink/chocolate. Lots of seating in and around the bldg. big tvs to watch and soft music playing. For breakfast it was continental (bagels, toast, muffins, juice, croissants). Free. All we really eat for breakfast anyway. then all day there are bags of chips pretzels tea/coffee/hot chocolate/soft drinks dispenser (sodas/lemonade/iced tea/gatorade). At 11a they roll out snacks, big cookies, etc. at 5p there's a reception with prosciutto, olives, Brie, salami, crackers, wine, beer, etc. then dessert like mini cakes at 7:30p. All part of the room fee. We requested a microwave in our room for my daughter's allergies. They forgot, but there's a microwave to use in the lounge. Yay! Oh and there's board games in the lounge too. There are utensils and plates avail all day for use. Didn't see fire pit lit up for s'mores. Maybe that's during the summer. Hubby got to use the hotel shuttle to take him to the ice hockey game and back. Driver knew when game was over so they were waiting for him before we even had to call. Free admission to Hershey museum and garden. Ok teeny tiny nitnoid grumbles. Our pillows were only down pillows so during the night, they compressed. No other options in room. The rooms were older but plenty comfortable and the overall hotel experience was satisfactory. A big minus was the shower/ although the water pressure was fine there was no way to have a stream that actually hit your body without it hitting the back of the shower and onto the floor in the bathroom. Made for spartan and less than stellar showers. Other than that the rooms were quiet enough and the restaurants were very good. Be careful though- signs are crazy non existent when you need them. You'll come up to an intersection and be left with a 50/50 guess which way to go. The elevator and the pool are probably only 100' apart but you need to go to the second floor and then forever and back to get to the water park. On the plus side, the restaurants had great food and the bartenders were friendly and hospitable. We were shocked how reasonable the prices were compared to home and served to remind us how much things ought to cost. Because it's part of the Hersheypark world, there is a shuttle that starts at 8am and goes through 9pm each day. Free of charge, it is a great savings over the daily parking fee you'd otherwise incur at the park. Staying at the lodge you'll get an early admission to the park as well- getting those roller coasters out of the way that normally get a big line. Super plus. Yes, for sure we'd come back or try one of the other affiliated hotels in the area.

Needless to say, Hershey was quite crowded and I can only imagine how it would have been during a weekend. The grounds are well-manicured, the indoors clean with numerous conveniently located restrooms. It paarars to me that the entire complex is handicap friendly. The staff all seemed friendly and security had a presence. The light breakdast and lunch buffets were quite tasty, and there was plenty of coffee and other beverages available. I thought it nice that each table had a small assortment of Hershey chocolates. With the exception of someone I spoke to on the phone who was incredibly rude, the morning before we checked in when I called to make sure we could stay in the same room for both of our nights (split reservation)... the entire staff was pleasant and helpful. But I really have to give major kudos and credit to the breakfast staff! Suffice it to say, breakfast time gets BUSY around 8:00/9:00 on a weekend morning. They were on top of keeping everything stocked and navigating around lines of people (seriously the waffle line was like 10 people deep). One gentleman in particular (and I wish I had gotten his name) was super helpful after a kid stuck his whole hand into a bowl of chocolate chips so we needed to ask for a replacement. The hotel shows signs of age and nothing is perfect (the shower head was SO HIGH I had to stand on tiptoes to just adjust the stream) but overall it was a good stay. The bed was comfortable... maybe a little firm... but I was THRILLED to find they do do use the crappy down pillows that every other Hilton Brand seems to use. The ones that support your head for about 30 seconds. So this made for a much more restful night of sleep. And of course it is pet friendly with a convenient doggie station on a decent size grassy area that spans the back of the hotel. I WOULD recommend that housekeeping pay a bit more attention to what toiletries they hang in the shower (LOVE LOVE the full size ones that not only cut down on waste but also mean our whole family of four isn't trying to make one tiny bottle of Neutrogena last). The reason I say that is because we didn't have shampoo in our shower. We had shower gel, conditioner, and LOTION. Haha. We're Diamond members so have stayed in a few Hilton properties. And many of them Hamptons. I was not disappointed with this stay. With its proximity to the park (easy in and out), it's a good deal.
