Our room was clean, the pool was comfortable and never overcrowded, and you can't beat the location if you're in town for Hershey attractions. We had an enjoyable stay. We stay sometimes overnight for NYE. Never had any issues. We were there visiting family from KS that have been staying there for many years. They have a booth at a show near by. This year during your renovations their room has been compromised a couple of times, first time, management did move them. The next complaint of backed up toilet (which was fixed very unprofessionally) attendant used bath towels to clean up floor! Really?!! They had coffee but no equipment to make the coffee. I will be talking with them today for a visit and I hope they were moved to another, nicer room...: PS please fix the metal container that holds the eggs....very loud when closing and does stay closed. read more

The beds and most especially the pillows are good. I hate when hotels only offer sift pillows, but here they have soft and medium firmness so yay! It's your standard typical HI Express, but recently renovated. They have the same breakfast like most all others and also have cookies in the afternoon which was cool. Do like their pancake machine. Small indoor pool which was so crowded around 9pm. Their hallways though need a deep clean - so many stains. The rooms were renovated and was pleased with the room, except for their loud AC unit. Man when it turns on, holy cow. It's sooo loud. Tv has direct tv with so many channels. Nice size mini refrig and a microwave too. Bathroom was good size but there was no body wash soap (one bad thing about how hotels have shifted to this to save in the environment - less plastic waste). Great hotel near the Hershey park. Good hot shower , air conditioning works great thru the entire hotel. The little breakfast they give u in morning that was include in price was great. Hot eggs potatoes e others cold options . The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that my bf went for a swim in indoor pool and the water was freezing cold. The hot tub that was ones there is close now and the sheets in the bed was a litter dated the white color was kind yellow w bit of stains even after they cleaned u could tell. I always bring my own sheets to throw over anyways couse I'm scared of bedbugs. So if I'm not in a 5 stars resort I bring my own and my own pillow. But other then that. No complaints. I can not say how happy I was with this hotel. After a night from hell at another hotel nearby, I called around a few hotels to get another stay for the night, and to get some sleep Since me and my daughter didn't get any the night/morning before. I called this hotel and spoke to a very friendly woman who said they had rooms available. By this time- it was an bout 5am and we were drained- just looking for a warm place to sleep and a soft bed- and we got lucky. We drove to the hotel to check in and the woman who was working the night Was super friendly and helpful/ she must've felt bad for us since we had just left the hotel we were staying at previously and we looked so tired. She asked if I had anything to get a discount and I mentioned I have military ID so she ended up giving me a discount and getting me a one night stay that was way cheaper than the hotel I just left. The hotel had an indoor Pool as well as a hot tub, a gym, and a laundry room. This hotel was just what we needed. The staff were friendly and they had breakfast included. They also had served complimentary cookies, hot chocolate, coffee and tea. The room met our needs, was quiet compared to our previous hotel and we had no issues with the room being too dry. We were still sick from whatever was making us sick at the previous place, but we were actually able to get some shut eye- which we needed desperately. read more

Made reservations with an online 3rd party vendor. Hotel is about 3 minute drive away from Hersheypark. There are about 4-6 restaurants right outside the hotel (Papa John, Bob Evans, McDonald's, KFC, Cocoa Diner). Check-in was easy. Front desk was pleasant. Room was on the second floor right up the stairs. Room was spacious for 3. Overall clean with no smell (they allow dogs). Bedding was soft, comfortable and warm. Temperature was easy to adjust to our comfort level. Bathroom was clean & had JR Watkins toiletries. Keurig coffee machine, fridge and microwave all worked. Theres a 10p to 8am quiet policy. For the most part it was obeyed. Breakfast was adequate (just enough to get us going for the day at Hersheypark. Made to order pancake machine (kinda cool to watch). Hot items: egg white veggie or plain omelets, real pork sausages along with your regular hotel complimentary breakfast items. Area was clean staff was friendly. Best hotel I've stayed at in a hot minute. My mother and myself both stayed here after looking for the 181 Hershey Road" Quality Inn (please don't ever go near there) for an hour and a half, and as a last resort pulled off into this hotel. Great front desk guy, TONS of snacks for sale at the front desk, fresh coffee and cookies set out for customers, along with a great open pool and jacuzzi when fixed. Convenient location and clean beds with rooms, great priced as well. Spacious room that could probably sleep up to five too. Front desk worker was beyond helpful with directions, food, and activities although it was nearing 10 PM. 5/5 stars here!!! read more

This was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. This place was filthy. Stains all over the carpets in the hallways. Patched holes in the wall where they didn't bother to paint over them. No one ever vacuums. There was garbage in the elevator for three days. The pool had mold on the ceiling and paint actually peeling into the pool. There was debris all over the pool from erosion that no one bothered to clean up. Our room smelled and was dirty. The lack of caring from anyone who walked by these issues day in and day out is troubling. Money was clearly spent on the foyer and the checkin area to make it look nice but that's where it ends. I'm surprised we didn't bring bedbugs home with us. read more

An odd parking lot with levels and no ramp for suitcases. Instead there are stairs. There are a few spots up top, but not many. Great location for Hershey Park and restaurants nearby. Hotel is clean and quiet with friendly service. Our room was clean and quiet and spacious. We had a standard King room and were happy to find a couch in the room and a very nice desk that rolled out for more surface area. Definitely one of the nicer Holiday Inn Express locations we have stayed in. There is also an indoor pool. Hershey kisses to sample at the front desk, and a very quick and friendly front desk. Standard coffee and tea in the hotel lounge, and a great free breakfast with many options to choose from, such as: Eggs, biscuits, pancakes (from an automated machine), yogurt, milk, eggs, sausage and bacon, cereal, oatmeal, toast, muffins, other pastries, a juice machine, and more. We stayed here about a little less than a week ago for a family weekend at Hersheypark. Have to say, this place was great! We called ahead to see if we could check in early, the gentleman that answered the phone was very kind and said that he would call back if we were able to check in early, unfortunately we never got the call, but we were too busy at Hersheypark to even realize that check in was at 3pm. That wasn't a big deal. The check in process was easy, the lady who was at the front desk was very kind and helpful. In front of the front desk is a coffee station, which is free and is stocked throughout the day! We had a double queen bed room, and the room was very nice. The beds, sheets, and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom and the room, for the most part was clean. The only thing I noticed were some stains on the wall between the desk and the A/C unit. The room did come with a Keurig coffee maker with 2 regular and 2 decaf choices. It also came with cups and packets of creamer and sugar. Overall the experience was great, and we will be staying here again when we return in October! read more

I have stayed at many Holiday Inn's but this is one of the worst. The front desk area and dinning room are clean and the front deck people were very friendly. However the two rooms we have are very old and dirty. The bathroom tub is covered in mold and caulk the tiles need to be cleaned and grouted. The rooms are old and dirty. The carpet it old and dirt. Enjoying some time in Hershey for the celebration of chocolate. This Holiday Inn is less than 10 minutes from Chocolate World. It's very easy to access and has plenty of parking. Near by you will find a number of restaurants and convince stores. We arrived around 3:30 and promptly checked in. The front desk staff is very nice. My favorite part is the hot tea in the lobby. Our room is great. Very clean, lots of space in the bedroom and bathroom. Each room has a Keurig with three coffee pods. Very pleased with our stay so far. read more

However, the second and third floor hallway carpets were very disgusting and looks like they have not been cleaned for a very long time with stains all the way up and down the hallways. Housekeeping was something that was very problematic. I really enjoyed my stay here. We only stayed one night for Hershey park weekend but I will be returning again. The breakfast had a wide variety of options (oatmeal, cereal, pancakes, bagels, etc), they were doing renovations when we arrived which we didn't mind and it didn't bother us, but the only downside was our room location. Our room was clean and large. We had room 119, which we loved until that morning. Our room was located by a side door and in the morning people were using the side door at 7AM, slamming it. Great hotel. I have stayed here twice, on two different occasions. The staff are super friendly, and it is very, very clean. The beds are nice and firm with soft pillows. There is a very active fright line you could hit with a rock from room 330, but the windows do a nice job of isolating the sound. Ask for a lower-numbered room and it should not be an issue. This hotel was very convenient for our stay at Hershey Park. Fast and easy check in. The room was available at 1pm when we arrived. they didn't make us wait until checkin hours. The room was decent. Whenever we come back to Hershey, we will be staying here. We've stayed at a few of the other "cheaper" motels (try to stay for under $100 a room), but never have we found one suitable and nice enough to our liking. This place is amazing for the price. The staff is all very friendly and our room was neat and clean. It comes with a fridge and microwave, which is not something you can find in Hershey without getting a suite or paying $$$$. Our room also came with a desk and a sofa. Their pool and hot tub are open until 11PM, and they have continental breakfast that has one of the best I've seen. The hotel itself is probably about 5 minutes away from Hershey, depending on traffic, straight down the main road. It's also close to numerous restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores and the like. There's a Sheetz, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC, China food, beer store, and a diner all within walking distance. Just down the street (driving) is a diner called the Soda Jerk Diner & Dairy Bar which is quite possibly the best food I've had in Hershey, a must go! Stay here if you come to Hershey, it's great. Be warned, it is by a train track, but we didn't have many issues with the noise because none of us are light sleepers. But if you are, may want to pick a different hotel. read more

If you are "of color" FIND ELSE WHERE TO STAY! My family and I booked one night at this hotel and they gave us hell as soon as we checked in. We were kicked out the pool because a "white person" wasn't comfortable swimming while my kids were in there. Do you know a hotel employee actually came to us and told us we had to leave the pool because "another guest" wanted to swim. Mind you we drove several hours to come here to visit the park and the kids were extremely excited about the pool still being open once we got back. Now... I could of made a scene then but I let it go..... here's the kicker...... Not even 2 hours passed since the pool incident, we get a call from the desk saying they got a "noise complaint". Remind me you I had kids, YOUNG kids at that. This is were I got frustrated, my family and i felt targeted and racially profiled! They said we were on a "business floor" now why would you put a family WITH KIDS on a floor with business guest? THAT MAKES NO SENSE! THIS WAS THEIR MISTAKE, WHY ARE WE GETTING PENALIZED FOR IT!? Not to mention, my kids are very well behaved. I was literally at the point where I wanted to pack the kids up and drive back home but we had a long day at the park and they were already in bed so I hung in there. I have nothing nice to say about this hotel they did not make my family fell welcomed AT ALL! We stayed here for my husband's 20th reunion from the Milton Hershey School. We appreciated the discounted price they gave us & was definitely a factor in our decision to book here. The room & bathroom were a touch on the small side. Beds were comfortable with ample pillows & covers. Fridge had bars broken out on the shelves on the door (for drinks, etc). Floor lamp had shade askew when we arrived...and no light bulb. Many of the TV stations were static-y - only the HD ones came in clear. Room was quiet (surprising since there is a railroad track directly behind the hotel) & AC worked fine. Adequately dark for sleeping even during the day. There appeared to be a homeless women sitting in the lobby - same chair & table for literally 8 or more hours. She interacted with us in a friendly way though she scared my son (not intentionally) **My husband also had friends that were booked to stay at this hotel but left upon finding their non-smoking room to be so smoky, that they had to leave & find a room at another hotel*** read more

Spent three weeks here for work and each and every day, after working my butt off, I wanted to hit the hot tub and not one day was there someone there to clean the d*mn thing. I checked and seen the same wads of dirt, lint, and mold. The rooms smell, even after roomservice comes and goes it smells of wet dog. Breakfast is the same every two days nothing special. The room looked like it had recently been upgraded but they must have skipped out on insulation- worst bathroom ever due to the stench of mold and sewage. The room was humid and damp and even with the ac running full blast day and night it was an uncomfortable experience. Towels hung on the chair next to the ac didn't even dry over 24 hrs and everything felt damp and sticky. The windows didn't open, but I've seen that in other hotels as well. I would have complained to the front desk, but when we let them know that the door adjoining the rooms was jammed they simply said they would put in a maintenance request, nothing was fixed and no offer to move rooms. Not comfortable with the fact that I have another holiday Inn stay booked in October, hopefully other locations are better or I doubt I'd ever use this chain again. read more

Hotel was ok. Shower walls were molded. The best part about the experience was the beds. Very comfortable. The website stated that there was a fitness center. I wanted to get my Sunday run in and the treadmill didn't work. I talked to the front desk and they said no one uses the treadmills anyway, which is not the point, the pint is there should be a working fun if the website states it. The breakfast was was ok for being free, however the boiled eggs were spoiled, which could have lead to food poisoning. We notified the front desk and they responded quickly to get the eggs off the line. One more positive was that it was really close to Hershey park. We probably won't stay at this location again. Stayed here during a soccer tournament this August 2014 . So there's a camp ground next door and all the fire wood smoke comes into the hotel and if your on the third floor your done. Couldn't breath all night and our lungs hurt like hell for the 3 night we were there. After complaining all the front dest offered was that management would be informed. I stayed at this holiday inn this past weekend for a grooming show. When the hotel was booked it was labeled a pet friendly hotel, I got complained about and thrown out during breakfast because of the dog that was allowed to be there because they honored the reservation. The hotel room itself was dirty, the floors are filthy they have something all over it and the chair that was in my room. I came down to breakfast at 8:30am and they were out of food, and the food is not very good as it is. I have never been treated so poorly by the staff ever at a hotel they are extremely rude to their hotel guests. Lastly do not put a keurig in the room and not give new k-cups to the guest, no instead you charge $1 per k-cup because I drank it. You should be ashamed of thinking you have good customer service, maybe you should get some employees who have some common courtesy towards guests. And maybe you should pay attention to the hotel rooms and clean them more and repair the vent fan that was broken in my bathroom. read more
