    Yummy breakfast

Wonderful B&B. It's nice to get a freshly cooked full breakfast. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Highly recommend.

A quaint Bed & Breakfast in the capital of PA that's being run by Count Dracula. The Manor on Front is a quaint bed and breakfast located across from the Susquehanna River. The property is gorgeous. Our room as well as the entire hotel are beautifully decorated. Here's my issue: When you stay at any Bed & Breakfast, you're expecting a different experience from a hotel stay. The Bed & Breakfast proprietors greet you when you arrive. They open their home to you and try to give you a quality experience. They'll bake homemade muffins, ask you how you want your eggs in the morning, their hospitality is what makes the Bed & Breakfast experience a memorable one. I understand we're living in difficult times. The Manor On Front made no attempt to be hospitable during our stay. The B&B texted us the door code and said the room key is at the lobby. Walking inside there was NO ONE there. No greeting, no fresh baked goods, nothing. I asked for coffee and was told via text there is a Keurig I can use on the 2nd floor?? I hate coffee from a Keurig! Breakfast was left in the refrigerator for us in a plastic bag. It's everything my wife doesn't eat: A muffin from Costco Sugary Orange Juice Fruit Cup Sugary Yogurt A bag of animal crackers Make a damn frittata! Ask me what we'd like other than what's offered. Leave out some bread near a toaster with some butter and jam? My suggestion would be to have all local items, offer them to the guests. I keep harping on the baked goods but it would have been nice to see homemade cookies on our doorknob when we came back to the room. I'm a little pissy because I spent extra money for the B&B experience and received hospitality from any hotel chain. Monday morning when we checked out, the house was eerily empty. I kept my crucifix out as we walked to the car.. The Manor On Front is a beautiful Bed & Breakfast in a nice location overlooking the Susquehanna River. If you're looking for the Bed & Breakfast experience, this is not the place and it was an expensive lesson to learn.

Excellent rooms, very clean would definitely recommend! Only downside is we didn't love the pillows Would definitely stay here again

We stayed for 2 nights and can't say enough about this beautiful home. Immaculate- everything we needed, so perfectly appointed. Lovely furnishings- comfortable bed- amazing breakfast ! French toast did not disappoint and the frittata was delicious. Thank you Sheri and Mark for an outstanding experience!

We stayed a night after a concert in Allentown. Everything about our stay was superb: from arranging a late arrival with Carol (Innkeeper), to changing the late arrival plan and stopping to pickup keys, meeting and having wonderful conversation with Mike (Proprietor) and then a killer quiche at breakfast the next morning with Monica (she is from Sweden and a gem). The property is absolutely stunning and extremely convenient from I-81 and HIA/MDT airport. We stayed in the Hull suite and is was not only very roomy, but very comfortable. Everything we needed was there and it was by far the best B&B we have stayed in, in terms of provisions and comforts. There are a number of common areas and we felt welcomed and at ease anywhere that we were in the home. There are books galore, excellent furniture and lots of outdoor seating. I was happy to finally get to stay in a place I have driven by and admired for years. That it was so comfortable, so meticulously well done and ultimately welcoming were the cherries on top. Given the chance to stay again, we absolutely would.

First time staying in Harrisburg, PA! My husband and I chose to stay in this lovely bed and breakfast located on the river water front. Rooms and home are beautifully decorated. Home was built in 1920's and has many of the original features like tile, wood floors, wood paneling and stone work! In addition the rooms are upgraded with flat screen TVs, wifi, and additional amenities. Located on the river waterfront and few blocks from amazing food and shopping! In the heart of the state capital!

We loved the old English vibe & the beautiful rooms to hangout in. It felt like stepping into a downtown London country home. The only drawback was that we were not given a hot "made to order" breakfast like I was expecting. The estate employee informed us that due to COVID they could only provide a bagged breakfast in the upstairs refrigerator. We were very disappointed because we were not told this until AFTER booking our NONREFUNDABLE stay. However, Ana was very kind & apologetic. She reassured us that the bag was stocked full of goodies & she was right. Other than that, everything was delightful about our stay!

Finding it was difficult even with the GPS, but they do provide instructions on their website. Upon arrival, the staff was friendly and our room was ready. It wasn't large, and the level of amenities isn't the same as a Hilton Hotel, but you come here for clean rooms and lots of trains... and this place had both. They have a large deck overlooking the railroad bridge, and a mock-railroad dispatcher board inside and outside that shows you in real time where the trains are. Within the first 20 minutes of arriving we saw three trains, and by the third I didn't even bother to pull out my camera. It was like that all weekend. If you are awake you can hear (and feel the trains), but none woke me up in the night so their noise wasn't a problem. Breakfast was french toast and sausage one morning, and pancakes and sausage the next day. They were good. Free bottled water and some cereal and other things are available, and they have a fridge for guests to put food in. There were dozens of train books and magazines to read when you weren't talking with other railfan guests or watching trains. Keith, the owner, was pleasant and knowledgeable about the trains. Sadly, it rained heavily the Friday and Saturday nights we stay (we were away during the day), and it was cloudy the rest of the time. Thus, a lot of my pictures were gray and it was too dark, wet, or cold to sit out on the porch for most of the time. That isn't the fault of the BNB though. It is a train-watchers paradise. Next time I come, I will plan to just sit inside all the time and watch trains!

I would avoid this place. The owner (Keith?) has some severe unexplainable anger issues. They replied back that I could do so. They asked when I planned to arrive. I answered back between 6:30 and 7:30 am. Keith then replied that 6:30 am was too early (to avoid waking up the guests) and 7:30 am would be better. I noticed in the Bridgeview website that they are technically open at 7am. I then replied back if 7 am would be okay and I was simply launching my kayak from their ramp (No intention to check in and disturb them). This was his reply: No it is not OK. First of all check in is not until 3pm. There is no way you can bring your vehicle in here, back in, park and launch without disturbing people who are sleeping. You canot come in here that early and disturb our guests period. I am not going to argue this point. You should have told us this up front instead of now. We are cancelling your reservation and refunding your deposit. Keith Latimer Full on Monkey tilt! Wow. I can't imagine he hasn't been angry like this before for something so trivial.... I have email receipts.

I stayed at Pheasant Field for one night last week, and it ended up being exactly what I needed…read more It had been a full-on week, and I was looking for somewhere quiet to reset for a night. From the moment I arrived (a bit later in the evening), Kyle met me at the car and made everything feel easy and relaxed straight away. It's a family-run place, and that comes through in a really genuine way. In the morning, Kyle's parents, Kevin and Amy, made breakfast and took the time to chat--it felt natural and unforced, just properly welcoming without being over the top. The room and the house were spotless (which I do notice), but still felt like a home rather than somewhere overly styled. It's clearly been thoughtfully put together--everything looks lovely and considered, without feeling staged or flashy. Just a home that's been really well done and well cared for. Comfortable, calm, and easy to settle into. I found myself slowing down without really trying. Breakfast was a lovely surprise--homemade granola with yoghurt to start, followed by an apple Dutch baby. It all looked beautiful and tasted just as good. Simple, thoughtful, and clearly made with care. The setting is lovely as well--quiet farmland, a pond just across the lane, and that sense of being properly away from things, even for a short stay. I don't often say this, but I've not stayed somewhere that made me feel quite like this before. At this stage of life, I'm usually the one looking after everyone else, and for a moment there, it felt like someone was looking after me. It was simple, but it meant a lot. It's not flashy, but it's very well cared for, and that makes all the difference. I'd definitely go back--next time for a bit longer, and possibly with my family.

We appreciated having two options each morning for breakfast (although during our stay, they were not large servings nor consistently 100% homemade. This was disappointing. My husband loves breakfast!) The last day of our stay the parents (primary inn keepers) returned, and breakfast was a better and more plentiful. They do accommodate dietary restrictions! Thank you. They do have water/seltzer/tea & coffee and packaged snacks (chips, crackers) available during the day. The linens need an upgrade. The "white" towels were grayish. The shower floor in our room was very creaky. We felt the value was fair.

We felt unwelcome and didn't enjoy our meals that night. Ok, fine, there are plenty of other restaurants in the area, no need to return. However, I may have turned my back, but I did not forget you, CSG. I remembered the good times, the trophies, awards, and accolades for your delicious sauces, and the excellent reputation that you've had all of these years. It was finally time for "The Return." Last night, a completely enjoyable meal and great service at the bar. (The dining room was very busy, and there were several seats open at the bar). It was actually our first time sitting at the bar and I believe this will now be our regular spot to eat and drink here. Got 6 Hot and 6 Creamy Garlic Parm. These wings were the perfect size for me, a little on the small to medium side, and they were cooked well. Not perfectly crispy, but close enough, and the flavor of the wings themselves were tasting fresh and delicious. I always loved their traditional hot sauce and this was my first time trying the creamy garlic Parm. The creamy texture was a little too much for me, so probably just get the regular garlic Parm next time. No issues with flavor, just a little thick and messy. (Somehow, I got that sauce on my shirt and on the back of my neck.) The Blue cheese was a great dipper for the hot sauce but I should've ordered a large cup. I also got the Cacio E Pepe Beef sandwich with fries; it was huge and awesome! I think I would order that every time I go here in the future It was so good. I'm glad that we can now place this restaurant back on our regular rotation list. See you again soon!
