we stayed at the Cornwall over Christmas with our extended family. It was fabulous!!!! instead of adult children and some of them now have spouses having to sleep on the floor or air mattresses everyone got their own bed. There was plenty of room in the ballroom to have large meals together and lots of entertaining space for everyone to do what they wanted, whether it was watching movies, playing games or talking together in the library. So great to all be in one place. Everything was clean and comfortable! it was decorated so lovely for Christmas! it was a special place with lots of fun memories made. we will definitely go back!!! We recently had a college friend reunion at this venue and it was fabulous! The new owners have done an amazing job of renovating and upgrading this charming historic building. They were very attentive to making sure our stay was comfortable. And it definitely was! I have already tucked this place away as a wedding venue when it's time for my girls to get married. The outdoor property is spacious and fully equipped for large outdoor events as well. I would highly recommend the Cornwall Inn for family reunions, retreats, weddings, parties or even just a getaway! read more

I've stayed here twice and have found it to be very nice, peaceful and enjoyable. This is a place to go for a romantic weekend get away. The room I stayed in was large, cool and comfortable. Outside the private entrance was a porch swing and a hammock. The hosts are friendly but not overly obtrusive depending on what you want. Breakfast is included and was very good. The Inn apparently hosts weddings and there was a tent set up when we got there with chairs and so on. This would be a very nice place for a small wedding. Nearby is a nice bike path if you'd like to take a walk or bike ride. read more

Not sure where to start, I saw the LivingSocial deal for Cornwall Inn thinking it was a great deal with 2 night stay, snack basket upon arrival, breakfast for two during our stay, one night of aromatherapy bath and two $50 gift certificates for Amish goods. I read some reviews online about the Cornwall Inn before I bought it. The B&B received some good reviews and thought - ok this must be good deal. My boyfriend and I were driving up to the B&B that afternoon the place was out of the main downtown area. Almost in the middle of nowhere but still nice and the staff was nice but they didn't really greet us. They let us check in early, the whole experience was not all that great or memorable. I wouldn't recommend this B&B at times I think I could have ran it better. They had plenty of time to prepare for our stay, no basket of snacks upon arrival just our snack tray that arrived later in the day. When we did get our snack, it looked like it had been sitting out for awhile though it was a nice tray presentation. The Constable suite we stayed in was very quiet and roomy. We went up for breakfast around 9am, didn't know what to expect. We had coffee/OJ and some red velvet cake and Mary cooked us a very nice breakfast. She provided us with the buggy ride coupon which we never used. Before we left for the day we explained to Mary that we would be back by 6ish and she said she would have our afternoon tea and bath ready. When we returned to the room we didn't see anything set up. My request wasn't communicated to anyone. I called upstairs and I spoke with the Inn keeper about what was promised to us and they didn't deliver. We went to bed around 9:30am and she finally around 10:30pm she came with the dessert and roses for our bath. She told me it wouldn't be long. Very disappointed! I didn't complain about the gift certificates that I was supposed to get too. What's the point!? I wasn't going back or recommend this place to anyone I know. Definitely wasn't worth the money I spent. I expected more from a B&B. We didn't feel very relaxed during our stay nor did we feel the place was that clean. We didn't even have hand soup in our bathroom. Also we couldn't get reception on our phones either. I recommend to stay closer to the main areas of town like downtown Lancaster, Bird in Hand or Intercourse, PA. The drive back to Cornwall Inn is pretty far about 30 min drive thankfully we had our GPS. read more

Small town GEM outside of a big city!! I found this place on Groupon or Living Social a few years ago. I wanted to visit Philly and all the historic sites. However I wanted to stay outside of the city. The owner of Cornwall Inn was extremely gracious and the room we stayed in was very comfortable and quaint! I loved the breakfast, the old bridge on the property and the house was unique. They were hosting a wedding while we were there and the fall foliage made for amazing background scenery. We ventured out and ate at a historic inn that Ben Franklin frequented often. When we go back this will forever be my favorite place to stay! We would not recommend the Cornwall Inn to anyone. This is the first trip we've taken in years alone since we have been caring for my father-in-law in his home and would have been happy with just about anything. The Washington Suite was less than that. First of all, it is no longer a bed and breakfast and the old groupons are not accepted even for the face value toward your stay as there are new owners. We were informed of that before we went and decided to still give the place a try. We saw the Inn keeper for about 5 minutes when we got there and that was it through a 4 day, 3 night stay. We tried to get into the main house to ask a question or two (and get a fork) but it was locked all day. The quality of bedding, including the very uncomfortable mattress and hard pillows, was unacceptable for some place where one has to pay to stay. The cleanliness of the bathroom, specifically the gate on the shower (which water went through to the floor outside the shower) and the mirror arm, were in desperate need of real cleaning. The canister beside the toilet (brush perhaps?) was rusted and dirty and there was a variety of hair wrapped around the stopper and drain of the sink. There were also black spots on the tile grout in the shower. While rinsing my hair, I watched a spider crawl out of one of the cracks in the corner of the grout. He just stared at me. For invading my shower privacy, he lost his life. I felt bad but he looked alarmingly like a brown recluse sooo... Oh, and beware, the left hand faucet handle leaks profusely and the door won't close as the top edge catches. The towels were folded in fancy pockets but it really didn't make up for the rest of the bathroom. Oh, and that was the thinnest toilet paper I have ever seen. If you still want to go here, take your own. Even though we wouldn't have used them, there were amenities advertised that were NOT in the room such as a desk, bath, radio, and sound machine. There is also a lovely chaise pictured on the website which has been replaced by a fold-up rocker that is not sturdy at all. The comforter is not the quilt, handmade one in the picture. It is polyester, one-sided, scratchy and doesn't match anything else in the room including the pillows in the pillow shams on top of it. There was one blanket on the shelf behind the bed that was thin and smaller than a throw blanket. It had also seen better days. The gardens were nice but in need of regular watering, especially the potted plants. There was a rotting opossum in the upper garden behind the metal arbor which got worse and worse yet the gardener who was working in that area ignored. The little porch was quaint with the swing but did not have a table to set a coffee mug or wine glass on which was inconvenient as that is where we sat to snack since there were no tables to sit and relax upon in the "suite". If there is an event going on, you have no privacy from the event tent as it is less than 20 feet from the porch and the event bathroom is mere feet from the door. There is also no privacy in the room from the garden as the windows on that side have no coverings. If there is an event upstairs (such as last night), you can hear the footsteps and dishes clanging and talking quite clearly as you are trying to sleep. Overall, we were extremely disappointed in the accommodations and will never go back. If you want to go to the area, try Mt. Gretna area or any of the other inns or b&bs in the area. read more

My stay was more like Mon L. Bought it as a deal on Groupon. We also were not met when we arrived. The snack tray that was to be for 4 people consisted of a cut up peach, 2 1/2 pretzels a few nuts, and some cheeseits. Sample card with hair shampoo and conditioner on it. The dinner we were served was under cooked chicken and breakfast dried out and not identifiable. There was no bread, roll,or cake. We were never given clean towels for the next day and the other couple we were with never had there beds made. To say the least it is the worst B&B I have ever gone to. read more
