The breakfasts I enjoyed there on their back patio overlooking their neighbor's corn field were absolutely wonderful! Even when I let them know I didn't like one of the items, they didn't say anything, except "do you like this?" and brought out an awesome replacement. That only happened once in my 4 days. The house itself is nice sized, so you don't feel cramped and they don't mind you sitting in with them during the evening for a chat, or watching the news/sporting event, etc. Parking is easy, except Lerew Rd can be tough to navigate, never back out onto the road! Molly, their dog, is a treat and make sure you check out her chickens, or she'll remind you to do that. Definitely a relaxing place to stay. The room itself was wonderful. No problems with anything. The stairs are a little on the steep side, so go slow. No doubt I'll be back.

Our very large suite room was comfortable and nicely decorated. Antiques are Rkia's passion, and she has made many acquisitions for the mansion and its rooms. In the morning we were served an elegant egg breakfast in the large dining room. The fruit cup was especially delicious! Rkia told us she cuts it fresh every morning so as to present it at its best, and it arrived in a stemmed glass dish. All in all an enjoyable stay!

In their ad they advertise Queen beds, free breakfast, restaurant and outdoor pool. When we arrived we were told no free breakfast because they were remodeling the facility. Actually one half of the existing building was undergoing in place remodeling but the entire rear half of the building had been razed down to the slab! Fortunately no heavy equipment operating. So, we figured one night, what the heck. Went up to the room. The Queen bed in the room was either a full size or a large twin but certainly not a Queen. We had to use stairs to get to the room because the elevator didn't work, guess why. Went for a walk to explore the neighborhood and talked. Went back to the room and decided the situation was so strange, it was funny. Decided to check out. This was all on the afternoon of the 19th. At first got resistance because the front desk staff, who were actually very nice, said the bed is Hotel Ava's queen?? Anyway, after some discussion, they relented and refunded our fee. IMHO, the management should either amend the current description of the facility or close it until the remodel is complete.

My concern is not that the hotel allows pets--it's the lack of cleanliness throughout the property. I am staying in Room 209, and upon arrival, the floors had not been swept, and there was hair throughout the bathroom. The entire second floor has a strong odor of dog urine and feces. Even more concerning, I observed what appeared to be pet urine and feces in the common areas, extending from the dining area through the lobby and hallways. This is completely unacceptable for any hotel. If my room were not prepaid, I would be checking out immediately and booking a room at a Marriott property. I will also be sharing this experience on multiple hotel review sites because travelers deserve to know the conditions before booking. I do want to make it clear that this review is not a reflection of the front desk associate, Ale. She was professional, kind, and very accommodating. When I requested a broom and room spray because of the condition of my room, she happily provided both, and I returned them shortly afterward. Ale provided excellent customer service despite the hotel's housekeeping and cleanliness issues.

Check in was a breeze and the lovely lady working the evening I got into town was happy and just extremely pleasant to deal with. she got me on my way in a few moments after I arrived. Rooms were good sized and very clean- as were all areas of the establishment: Common areas, hallways etc. Bed was comfy, and the hot water was hot - without having to wait forever. Perfect. In the morning, they offer what I would say is one of the best free breakfasts I've had in quite some time. Coffee was not only hot, but tasted very good - a rare find these days. The hot offerings changed daily and pretty much every dietary preference was covered in some fashion. the folks doing kitchen duty were obviously very dedicated to their jobs, and it showed. Round it all out with an indoor pool and fitness center as well as a small outdoor patio seating area, and you have a very good place to unwind after a long day of meetings or whatever it is that brings you to town. Overall a wonderful experience and I would absolutely use this location again if back in the area.
