Hotel A relatively…read morenewer establishment, the Homewood Suites in Carlisle was the location I picked when needing to spend a week in the area for work. Check in was a breeze and the lovely lady working the evening I got into town was happy and just extremely pleasant to deal with. she got me on my way in a few moments after I arrived. Rooms were good sized and very clean- as were all areas of the establishment: Common areas, hallways etc. Bed was comfy, and the hot water was hot - without having to wait forever. Perfect. In the morning, they offer what I would say is one of the best free breakfasts I've had in quite some time. Coffee was not only hot, but tasted very good - a rare find these days. The hot offerings changed daily and pretty much every dietary preference was covered in some fashion. the folks doing kitchen duty were obviously very dedicated to their jobs, and it showed. Round it all out with an indoor pool and fitness center as well as a small outdoor patio seating area, and you have a very good place to unwind after a long day of meetings or whatever it is that brings you to town. Overall a wonderful experience and I would absolutely use this location again if back in the area.

The managers reception in the evening was very nice, I'm in course, a salad bar, free, beer, and all sorts of snacks and drinks. The morning breakfast spread, is substantially better than a lot of the breakfast I pay $20 for another Hilton properties. Each room is like a little apartment. The fitness area, is better than the average hotel gym. This will be my new stop over, as I travel Across Pennsylvania every couple weeks. Very nice, highly recommended, just a short drive from the turnpike.

My experience was horrible, please do not stay here!…read more First off, when I got to the hotel, there was no one at the front desk. I waited for awhile and eventually a woman named Holly came. She greeted me with a "yeah?" - not what I expected for a 3-star hotel with a 4-star rating on Google. I asked if it was possible to check in early, since I arrived two hours prior to the check-in time of 3 pm. Holly said, "no," which is fine; I didn't expect her to say, "yes." Then I asked if they could hold my luggage while I went out to eat with my daughter. Holly's response was, "someone asked me that earlier today and I said, 'No.'" So now I have 2 hours to kill before check-in, 3 pieces of luggage, a tired teenager, and I'm hungry. I asked if she had any recommendations for what I could do. She scoffed at me and said, "no." I then went on to ask if I could leave my daughter in the lobby by herself while I went to get food. Instead of answering me, she asked, "What's your last name?" Holly decided to go ahead and check me in early, which I appreciate, but her attitude was poor the entire time. Eye rolling, scoffing, shaking of the head. Then I get to the room. So many things were wrong with it. Flashing lights, a hole in the bathroom wall, a detachable shower faucet, discolored and rusty walls in the bathroom, and a shower curtain rod that's breaking free from the wall. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.
