Just finished a six night stay…read more We stayed in large room. It had two queens and a pullout. There was a desk area. Also had a small microwave and small fridge. The room felt dark-with decor in particular. Breakfast every morning. Had your typical breakfast- waffle maker waffles, cereal, bagels, eggs, a breakfast meat, yogurt, fruit, juices. They also had coffee that was out 24/7. Has a small indoor pool and a nice exercise room. Hershey Park during summer months have concerts that you can hear from the sound from your room. So if you go to bed early this may be an important factor. Rooms didn't really have a refresh. I was lucky if trash was taken out and we got new towels without asking. Not a bed made once. I miss those days of coming back to a nicely made bed. I guess those days are long gone? Also, the week we were there lots of kids which were running around the lobby like it was a playground. Overall my stay was okay. I might book here again if I was in the area but I would also consider a different spot as well.

I would like to preface this review with the fact that I have been in service my entire life,…read moreincluding managing a hotel myself. I currently work for American Airlines at the Charlotte Douglas Airport. The front desk agent Matt - caused me to walk away from a prepaid reservation and pay to stay at the Hilton Hershey property instead. Which was amazing, by the way! I had a reservation for 6/15, and had called the week before to reconfirm an early check in. After working my 8-9-hour shift, I drove over 7 hours straight to Hershey PA to take my elderly mother to a concert at Hershey Stadium. Once arriving at the Fairfield, Matt brusquely replied that I did not have a reservation. I explained to him that a Marriott Vacation Club Member had gifted me the room and it was registered in my name as well as theirs. He then "found it" and told me there would be no early check in although I had confirmed, and I would have to wait until after 4pm. Mind you it is 11am, and at this point I have been awake well over 24 hours and am feeling faint. He was so nasty, I took a step back to take a calming breath. He was then so rude to the next lady (in front of her children as well) that she exclaimed "is this how you treat Marriott Bonvoy Members? WOW!" I knew I was unable to reason with this individual, and I was too exhausted to escalate the issue. So, I simply left and took my business elsewhere. I called today after some thought on the matter, hoping to give grace, and it was Matt who answered the phone. He was disdainful, snide, would not provide me with the GM's name or email and disconnected the call. I called Marriott Bonvoy myself and got the information I needed. Matt is ABSOLUTELY NOT the person Guests should EVER see and interact with upon entering a Marriott property. A welcoming smile and spirit of kindness is necessary in our industry. Matt has none of these qualities. Like I relayed to Corporate, Matt is most definitely a cause of loss of revenue for this location. On a more positive note, Zira and Melisa at The Hampton Inn Hershey saved the day! Highly recommend!!!

We recently stayed for a weekend during a last minute trip to Hersheypark for end of summer with…read morethe kids. Overall our stay was good. With the exception of someone I spoke to on the phone who was incredibly rude, the morning before we checked in when I called to make sure we could stay in the same room for both of our nights (split reservation)... the entire staff was pleasant and helpful. But I really have to give major kudos and credit to the breakfast staff! Suffice it to say, breakfast time gets BUSY around 8:00/9:00 on a weekend morning. They were on top of keeping everything stocked and navigating around lines of people (seriously the waffle line was like 10 people deep). One gentleman in particular (and I wish I had gotten his name) was super helpful after a kid stuck his whole hand into a bowl of chocolate chips so we needed to ask for a replacement. The hotel shows signs of age and nothing is perfect (the shower head was SO HIGH I had to stand on tiptoes to just adjust the stream) but overall it was a good stay. The bed was comfortable... maybe a little firm... but I was THRILLED to find they do do use the crappy down pillows that every other Hilton Brand seems to use. The ones that support your head for about 30 seconds. So this made for a much more restful night of sleep. And of course it is pet friendly with a convenient doggie station on a decent size grassy area that spans the back of the hotel. I WOULD recommend that housekeeping pay a bit more attention to what toiletries they hang in the shower (LOVE LOVE the full size ones that not only cut down on waste but also mean our whole family of four isn't trying to make one tiny bottle of Neutrogena last). The reason I say that is because we didn't have shampoo in our shower. We had shower gel, conditioner, and LOTION. Haha. We're Diamond members so have stayed in a few Hilton properties. And many of them Hamptons. I was not disappointed with this stay. With its proximity to the park (easy in and out), it's a good deal.

Rounding up because the service was so great. We stayed for three nights during the late summer…read morebreak and had a great time. The rooms were older but plenty comfortable and the overall hotel experience was satisfactory. A big minus was the shower/ although the water pressure was fine there was no way to have a stream that actually hit your body without it hitting the back of the shower and onto the floor in the bathroom. Made for spartan and less than stellar showers. Other than that the rooms were quiet enough and the restaurants were very good. Be careful though- signs are crazy non existent when you need them. You'll come up to an intersection and be left with a 50/50 guess which way to go. The elevator and the pool are probably only 100' apart but you need to go to the second floor and then forever and back to get to the water park. On the plus side, the restaurants had great food and the bartenders were friendly and hospitable. We were shocked how reasonable the prices were compared to home and served to remind us how much things ought to cost. Because it's part of the Hersheypark world, there is a shuttle that starts at 8am and goes through 9pm each day. Free of charge, it is a great savings over the daily parking fee you'd otherwise incur at the park. Staying at the lodge you'll get an early admission to the park as well- getting those roller coasters out of the way that normally get a big line. Super plus. Yes, for sure we'd come back or try one of the other affiliated hotels in the area.

Needless to say, Hershey was quite crowded and I can only imagine how it would have been during a weekend. The grounds are well-manicured, the indoors clean with numerous conveniently located restrooms. It paarars to me that the entire complex is handicap friendly. The staff all seemed friendly and security had a presence. The light breakdast and lunch buffets were quite tasty, and there was plenty of coffee and other beverages available. I thought it nice that each table had a small assortment of Hershey chocolates. My meeting was only one day, thus overnight accommodations were unnecessary, however my recollection is that the prices are rather steep. Overall, it was a pleasant meeting location and dining experience!

Also, I love seeing the lovely floral arrangement displayed when you enter the hotel. Today, not getting my usual spa services, but I'm here for a girls' day to celebrate a special lady with the Sweet Feet pedicures and lunch at the Oasis. Since it was a lovely day, the girls and I dined outside and spent most of the day on the grounds, since the spa tends to be busy on weekends, especially Saturday. Our pedicures were relaxing, but be reminded that if you have gel polish on, there is a $17 upcharge to remove it; otherwise, it was a wonderful replacement experience. Even the massage chair was a bonus. Thank you, Shay and Kaitlyn.

At the lounge there is always something to do/eat/drink/chocolate. Lots of seating in and around the bldg. big tvs to watch and soft music playing. For breakfast it was continental (bagels, toast, muffins, juice, croissants). Free. All we really eat for breakfast anyway. then all day there are bags of chips pretzels tea/coffee/hot chocolate/soft drinks dispenser (sodas/lemonade/iced tea/gatorade). At 11a they roll out snacks, big cookies, etc. at 5p there's a reception with prosciutto, olives, Brie, salami, crackers, wine, beer, etc. then dessert like mini cakes at 7:30p. All part of the room fee. We requested a microwave in our room for my daughter's allergies. They forgot, but there's a microwave to use in the lounge. Yay! Oh and there's board games in the lounge too. There are utensils and plates avail all day for use. Didn't see fire pit lit up for s'mores. Maybe that's during the summer. Hubby got to use the hotel shuttle to take him to the ice hockey game and back. Driver knew when game was over so they were waiting for him before we even had to call. Free admission to Hershey museum and garden. Ok teeny tiny nitnoid grumbles. Our pillows were only down pillows so during the night, they compressed. No other options in room. Hotel comforters were great, but very noisy due to high thread count or too much starch.

If you are searching through Hershey for a traveler motel that won't fill you with despair and disgust you've found it. For the price, this is a five star hotel. Reader, if you are looking for a better experience at this price point, you are not going to find it in any popular town in the U.S. I've spent the last few years of my career checking many of them. I have to assume the poor reviews predate a renovation and/or management change, or that some people's expectations for a ~$100 motel in a tourist town are way too high. I have stayed in a lot of travel motels like this for work, and there are cheap bad hotels and cheap good hotels - I would say this is a good one. The beds were well made and clean, the mattresses pass the flip test, and the bathroom was very clean as well. The carpets in the room were properly vacuumed. No dust bunnies in the corners. There is some highway traffic noise beginning around 6am, but this motel is next to the highway. If you're staying anywhere like this you should bring earplugs anyway. The shower is hot and the water pressure is strong. Lots of these budget places have stopped cleaning rooms nightly during a stay, but this one does. The tub in my room could use to be refinished. I don't think anything else here is in real need of a renovation. And, the people working here are really, genuinely nice. I did not expect the doorman at midnight on a weekday to be so friendly as I checked in and that is really appreciated after a long day of travel. Thanks a lot dude, I literally drafted this review the night I came in for that. Everyone I saw here from the desk staff to the housekeepers were so friendly. Really, thanks so much. It makes traveling for work so much nicer. There is a really sparse fitness center but I appreciate having one at all at a motel like this. Good if you want to get a run or a quick workout in while you're traveling, but don't expect much equipment. Walking distance to some bars and restaurants including a 24 hour diner. Right across from the conference center. There's even some cute themed decorations and paintings around the place.
