Needed concrete blocks/bricks for a garden project. All the blocks were located in the garden section except for the ones I needed. Walked to the opposite end to Building Supplies & asked the cashier to notify an assistant to help load 12. Waited 10-15 minutes & no one arrived. I asked cashier again if she could notify an assistant, or I could walk & meetup with him. She acted irritated & said, I could "call prior to pickup & order will be ready because Saturday is busy & they are helping customers". I responded, "Well, I'm a customer" & asked for the manager to find help. I found the block & 10 minutes later the assistant Jaime arrived, & found the appropriate cart & loaded the block. I asked him if he could help with transport to my vehicle & unloading. He completed the task efficiently & with a smile. Home Depot It's in a strip mall area so parking was plentiful but I could tell that parking could fill up fast so I went to the area closest to home Depot garden area and parking was plentiful and not a very far walk to the store. The store also seemed to be one busy place. The 1st thing to remember is that everyone is struggling with staff and to be kind to the staff who are there in trying to help people. I found that staff were more than willing to help me and the greeter at the door went out of their way to find someone totally appropriate to give me personal service and help me and get exactly what I wanted when you're older and you can't see very well and you're not really sure about things it's really nice to have a young person who's patient and willing to help you. I also was really helped by the customer service people on the phone before I even came. The store was clean and well organized. Home Depot has all kinds of lumber products hardware, paint, kitchen, and garden products for modern families and young people. read more

Only self serve checkouts were open so I called over the employee there to cover the registers and she tried it twice with the same results. She then said the system was not Susie she could not verify I was military. I pulled out my military ID and showed it to her. She just asked what's this. I explained it is my ID. She just shrugged her shoulders and said there is nothing she could do. I just put my ID and debit card back in my wallet and walked out the door. I tried to call Home Depot twice, but when transferred to customer service, the number just rang for several minutes with no answer. Disorganized and rude I ordered a 10 by 10 cantilever umbrella on July 9. The Home Depot stated it would be available for pick up no later than July 12th. I got the text that it was ready for pickup on July 11th. So far everything was great and I even had an extra day to set it up. I asked the young man that brought it out if there was another box because the base was included. He said " let me check the label" which he did and then said everything is in the box. I loaded it up and took it home. It is monsoon season so before I could unbox it and set it up a storm came in so it had to wait until the next day. When I did open the box and unpack it there was not a base. I double checked to be sure I had purchased the correct umbrella with the base, which I did. I then called customer service. They were great ( if this was only about them they would get 5 stars). They answered the phone promptly, introduced themselves and they saw everything immediately. The base was in a separate package and the store had updated my order to "picked up". They stated that the store might call but I should call them on Tuesday July 16th (giving the store a day after receiving it) to confirm I could pick up the base and they emailed me the UPS tracking number so I would know it had arrived. On Tuesday at around 830 PM I had not heard from home depot so I called. The automated thing could not see I had an order (I believe because the store closed it out), so it transferred me to a person which is great. The lady looked up the order and saw the notes that customer service entered a few days ago. She stated that the note said for them to call me when it is available. I tried a few times to ask her if that is what will happen but she continued to talk over me. At some point I did get to ask her and she said " there is a note to call you" that is what she said at least 4 times, that does not answer the question. The other instruction she gave me was to call back everyday and if by Friday July 19th they still don't have it ready I should ask to speak to the lead. It was $1 more to order this directly from the manufacturer. Delivery was quick er with Home Depot and I liked the idea of being able to work with the store locally. This experience has been awful and how can this be considered customer service? I am the one doing all the work and the employee tell me to keep calling and checking for updates to get the more then $500 umbrella I already paid for. read more

Recently visited the Home Depot to pick up our Christmas tree earlier this season and, just like last year, had a quick and easy experience. They don't offer as big a selection as some of the other tree lots, but they do have much better pricing. It wouldn't have been a big deal if they worker there could've gave me a discount instead of an attitude about not have the Home Depot app when I had my VA I.D. I recently went searching online for a battery maintainer (trickle charger). I found one that I liked at my local store. The website said they had only one in stock. They gave me the exact aisle and bin location. When I arrived, no such item was in stock. So I chose an alternate battery maintainer that had no clearly marked price and no price on the shelf. I went to the cashier and asked her some questions about it. She said "Oh, we update our website information. But many items are missing because of customers stealing them.". I think her answer is bogus because I know it is not easy to shoplift at Home Depot and the penalties are severe....if you are caught. I then asked her if an extended protection plan was available for the battery maintainer that I chose, as the one that was supposed to be in stock offered such a protection plan. She scanned the item and told me that no protection plan was offered on that item. I am retired military and proudly served in the armed forces for more than 6 years during the Vietnam Era. I told her that a competing store called Lowes always gives me a 10% discount for being an honorably discharged veteran. She said that my service did not qualify for a discount at Home Depot because I was not discharged with a service connected disability. I think it shameful that the "world's largest home improvement retailer" cannot offer honorably discharged veterans a discount. I recently learned that the current owner and founder of Home Depot Bernie Marcus (net worth $5.9 Billion) is a major Republican supporter and contributed millions to the Donald Trump campaign. This bit of political information helps me in understanding why Home Depot is the shit hole it is. I feel that Home Depot is poorly managed and that their clerks are lazy and do not update their website and shelves on a timely basis. they also walk around the store with orange vests on that have the words "CAN I HELP YOU?", yet if I approach them to ask for help, they literally run from me. Due to Covid-19 the store was closing early. I was afraid I would not make it in time, so called ahead and talked with a nice young lady in the paint department, telling her what I needed. I arrived after closing - within a few minutes. There were still customers in the store but two gentleman at the front door told me they were closed. I explained that the manager on duty, Kim, said I could come in and pick up paint that I had ordered. I have to give a 3. To get help with customer service was the concept of three of us in our family each going down different isles to get assistance and still not finding an employee to help us. I ended up calling the main line and getting routed to appliances. With this route we still waited another 20 minutes. However, once we were helped. It was a gentleman from the flooring area and HE was extremely understanding, took the time to go above and beyond. We ordered our appliances and paid and ended up walking out of the store happy. This gentleman who helped us even called us the following day and told us the appliances even went on sale since the night before and this saved us some money back. It just confirmed that with being short staffed that Home Depot should be very lucky to have employees like this working for them. I wish I could remember the gentleman's name. The site said come improve DIY skills at the Home Depot. FREE Saturday Do-It-Yourself workshop. I thought this would be great; I can learn some new skill and meet new people at the same time! Signed up online immediately (Monday night) and got my confirmation. I walked in this morning 15 minutes before the the workshop was to start and went to the front desk and said I was there for the DIY workshop. The woman asked what the subject was and I told her I didn't know. She sent me to another person and she didn't know. She walked outside to look at the posted schedule and came back in saying the schedule only went through last Saturday. She went online and found what I had registered for. She made several calls within the store and finally some male coworker came up to help. He made several calls and then started talking to another employee about something else. The first woman asked if I found my workshop and I said no, I was still waiting. At this point the man turned to me and said "It's roofing." Are you KIDDING me? I looked a little surprised and said, "Reeeally?" Then he said, "OK, we can do flooring." OMG, what a cluster. At this point I said I think I'll just leave and look for another workshop that is more specific. I think they completely screwed up and ended up making calls to see who might be available to do something and apparently it was roofing or flooring. I was there with my daughter on 4/17/2019 to look for different materials for her Girl Scouts Gold Award project. We knew we needed sheets of wood, paint, and accessories, but didn't know exactly what to get. After going over some ideas online using the Home Depot website, I budgeted $500 for this project. At the store, we met Terry in Lumber who, after listening to what the project is about, suggested a different type of material that works even better for this purpose. He cuts the sheets for us and kept clean and neat cuts on all edges. He recommended we talk to Kasey in the Paint area to learn how to protect the wood in the outdoors location. We met Kasey who provided probably the best service I have seen in Tucson as far as I can remember. Extremely knowledgable, recommended certain things to do, and certain things not to do. Ran back and grabbed the items she recommended. Marked the paint cans and taught my daughter how the system works, in case she needed more paint. The overall experience was so refreshing, I had to write a review. We promised Terry and Kasey to return with pictures of the completed project. At the register, Joselin was also very nice and welcoming. When I asked who can I express my gratitude for this shopping trip, she pointed at the receipt where there's a web address for a Survey. I tried to access the survey site, but the website kept telling me that the user name and password I'm typing from the receipt are incorrect. The budget was $500. Actually paid $203. If I didn't have the assistance of Terry and Kasey, chances are I would have spent my budget. I truly appreciate their work attitude and service. read more

If I could give 2.5 I would. Overall this location is very lacking. However, when things go wrong they have managed to redeem themselves, somewhat. The majority of their employees have little to no knowledge of the products in their dept. or how to DIY at all. My father is a manager in Iowa for HD so I try to support the chain as it helps his stock options. He hates this store every time he comes in to visit. (AND btw this is their district HQ. The offices are upstairs.) First, you can never get help. We looked high and low for a specific flooring that we could only find at Home Depot. So, we went to order it at this store b/c it is so close to our house (otherwise we would have gone to the Oro Valley location as they are FANTASTIC!). We waited in the flooring dept after being directed there by the front desk for 20 min. A young man from plumbing that said he did not know how to do the ordering was in earnest running around trying to find the guy that was supposed to be there. When he tried to call his phone was on the desk as was his walkie(They have both wireless phones and walkies). Finally they find him and the guy is rude and less than informed on the products he sells. Next, the flooring comes in and I for some stupid reason think I can carry it all in my Vibe. LOL, was not happening. So, we rented the HD Truck and the guys that worked the loading area re-paletized the flooring w/o the side supports. So, we took the turn from Thornydale onto Ina at the speed of me barely lifting my foot off the brake w/ people pissed behind us and the top half of the pallet smashes onto the street. It would seem that cling wrap w/o supports is not so strong (Duh). But the guy that did it insisted it was fine and would not listen. Thankfully a van behind us pulled off to help throw the remains in the back of the truck as my partner was not able to lift the boxes of flooring by herself. Result, I am pissed and she is on the phone explaining what happened. A guy from the store had just left for lunch and saw it happen but just though it was funny and drove by (I was told this by the rental guy). We get back to the store with the damaged packages which is over half. The manager on duty comes to rectify the situation and tries to tell me that some of the damaged packages look fine. I just said it fell off because your guys don't know how to correctly palletize. He orders the new and I told him I was not going to try to drive a pallet back to my house again that he was going to deliver it for free. He agreed and they gave us the truck rental from that day free of charge. SO! They fixed part of the problem but, the whole ordeal of ordering flooring from this store was beyond horrible! My father has even said it was perfectly fine to go to the Lowes down the road as the service there is better as is their product knowledge. read more

What does it mean when you go to a competitor's store and find more stock than the store you from which normally buy? My answer, the competitor is willing to pay a higher price to stock the item and also willing to charge more for the product. I have been a loyal customer of this Home Depot for nearly four years. Even when I lived closer to the Oracle store I would drive to Marana for what seemed like more inventory and better selection. These last few weeks I have been using redwood. Last week this Home Depot showed 74 pieces. Never while visiting the store did I see 74 pieces. I have visited this store every third day to pick up what I needed for that days project. The shelves have never been restocked. Today, with one broke board on their shelf I told the clerks I needed two 2X4X12 redwood boards. They have zero in stock and they told me they are having a hard time getting redwood inventory. The Home Depot store on Oracle showed 18 in stock on the Marana store web access. When called the Marana clerks were told that they have zero in stock. I wonder why the websites tell the consumer one thing, yet when you get there they are out of stock? The reason is you buy other things even though they are out of one of the items you want. Yes, I bought a flag, decorative building blocks, trash bags, and a solar light. I then went around the corner to the competitor's store. Their shelves for all redwoods were fully stocked. Price per board was 10% higher. My first choice from now will be the competitor's store. My reason, my time is worth being able to stop once to receive what I need. I can no longer trust Home Depot's website for accuracy. I came here to purchase materials needed for camping. I asked for help and all the employees were very wonderful. They were meticulous in their directions to help me get what I needed. They also gave me brilliant suggestions and hints regarding to the items that I bought. The gardener was a sweet man; he assisted me with great positive attitude. I've never had issues with this location. I'm constantly doing small projects that require random hardware, paint, etc. I will admit, I rarely ever ask for help, and actually don't want to be bothered by people asking me if I need help, so my view on this is probably a little skewed. I usually stop by this Home Depot if I am on the way to Costco. I always have some sort of project going and I am relatively absent minded and will usually forget something when I go to Ace. This location is organized, I can find help if I need it and usually has a good amount of checkout lanes going. All in all it is okay. read more
