A helpful employee there named Debra was so helpful and I got what I needed plus information about color of the tags in the store that meant discounts. I never knew that. Very helpful lady. I like this location. I used to work at Home Depot for many years back in the day, so there's not much I need help finding here. I did need help finding magnetic vent covers one day though and was assisted by a friendly guy who directed me to the right location, and it wasn't even his department. 5 stars also because I needed assistance getting down some spray paint with a ladder and a nice guy in paint helped. The Customer Service that I received today around 4:30 ! Now the Caucasian male who seemed very unhappy about his job due to the way he spoke to and approached me in regards to what was on his mind . He definitely had a look on his face that said he was unhappy , did not want to be at work , was disgruntled and his lack of professionalism definitely showed in the conversation he and I had ! I've been here to this Home Depot quite a few times and have bought tools before . Now today was the first day that I was made aware that one can not pass out their business cards ! Now mind you , I wasn't harassing , bothering , being rude or disrespectful to anyone and definitely not being negative ! This UNPROFESSIONAL male brought it to my attention but he did it in a rude , aggressive , negative and definitely unprofessional manner ! I've been in customer service for over 30 years ! Therefore I know all about customer service ! To be honest , he came across as one who does not like or care too much about those who aren't WHITE ! That is exactly the feeling he gave and he talked about arguing and the only that was in the mood to argue was him ! I told him that I wasn't aware and that I didn't know . I also told him that now that I know I will stop and then he proceeded again to tell me that all I wanted to do was argue and have the last word and then he said to me have a good day and walked away as if he achieved something from his POV ! He definitely needs to be retrained and coached because NOTHING about his attitude , approach and professionalism was appreciated ! But one day he's gonna give someone that is going to handle it differently ! We had our floor measured for laminate. Two different Home Depot employees came out & measured to get all the specs. The materials were delivered. The installers show up and say they can't install--the floor is not even enough. Home Depot won't refund the delivery fee--more than $100. Home Depot is my go to store 99% and this store has got to be the best restrooms I have ever been to for HD! They have updated everything including locks that show occupied so someone does push on the door during your private time. The step stool for kids is perfect. When you have a 35lb grandchild that you have to help up to wash their hands but you have a sore back, you will understand why to me it's perfect! I wish all HD stores would follow in their footsteps! She found my order quickly even though it turned out the last name was wrong (totally my fault, I put F instead of my complete last name). She had me signed out within minutes and sent someone to the curb to load my vehicle, she even came out to help. Yelp...you come to hear the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth....le'go! June 9th, I lost everything due to a negligent resident in my apt building, so therefore...I'm starting over! I'm THANKFUL & BLESSED...because it could've been worse!! After regrouping and figuring out whether to scratch my watch or wind my azz....I have to start rebuilding. I came to HD on 7/13/19 to purchase a washer & dryer set and I only ended up in here because I went to Best Buy and they wouldn't have what I wanted available for delivery until the end of August....oh hell naw! LOL....So I searched HD website, saw they had the exact same model and trucked it to the store. Now my 1st clue should have been the lazy a** associate that worked with me...really dude you can't get off your elbows long enough to process this order a little quicker....I had pretty much done the research and even provided you the model #....smh. I digress...he finally placed the order and gave me a delivery date of 7/30/2019 and advised that they would call me the day before to provide me my time frame. Cool....I wasn't doing much but living my best hotel life. Moving day came over the weekend...furniture delivery driver did as he said....called 30 mins prior to arriving....we both pulled up at the same time...SCORE!! Now fast forward 1 day when I'm to receive this call that will let me know my scheduled delivery time for HD. After lunch I hadn't heard from them, so I decided to go online to "track my order", tracked it and saw a delivery time of 10am-2pm. Now don't get me wrong, I know most-if not all companies give this 4 hour window, which is fine, but they hold up to the "call 30 mins prior" to give you time to make arrangements or get to the destination. So, once I saw the scheduled time, I called HD customer service 7/29/2019 at 1:47pm, the lady checked to see if they had any later times and also offered me to reschedule. I said "no that's fine as long as they give me the 30 min call", she assured me they would. 7/30/2019....I came to work...not going to sit around 4 hours waiting for you to get there at like 1:50pm...smh. I walked back in my office and my cell phone rang: "Hello" driver: "Hello, this is xyz with HD and I'm here in front of your apt" me: "are you kidding me? what happened to you calling 30 mins prior" driver: "I called and got a funny ringing noise" me thinking to myself: you didn't think to hang up and call back, so you just popped up and decided to call....I digress! I immediately got up & headed towards my apt which is about 20-23 mins from my job. I immediately started calling my apt office to ask them to let them in & i'm on my way, but considering this driver called me at 11:55am, the office staff could have been out on property or at lunch. I'm hauling azz to get to the apt, I then get a call from the delivery company's call center: them: "Hello Veronica, did the driver call you to let you know he was onsite" me: "Yes and I'm not sure why I didn't get a call 30 mins prior" them: "We actually called you an hour prior" me: "did you get an answer or a vm?" them: "no"....CRICKETS!! May I speak to a supervisor? Sure...keep in mind i'm in my car driving towards GP at this point...supervisor comes on....gives option to reschedule or see if they could come back later that evening but couldn't guarantee it, then she puts me on hold pretending to call the driver to see if he can wait a few more mins, comes back on the line & said the driver already left and she would have a rep contact me to reschedule. Y'all my BP was well into the millions at this point, I turned around and headed back to work. As I'm ending my call with the supervisor, the driver is calling in and wanted to know how far away I was....ARE YOU ******* ME????I told him what that janky azz supervisor just told me about him already being gone...he was like "are you serious?". He was like "we can try to come back this evening" ...I assured him I would be home by 4:30pm and he said he'd call at 5pm. I got home, waited and finally decided to give him a call around 5:16pm and of course got no answer & vm was full. I called the call center to see what was going on...they informed me that all drivers were back at the warehouse & no more deliveries would be made this day. And it would be the following week for their next available appt. OH HELL NO!! I called the store and spoke to the MOD (Tee) to see if they could do something, apparently they hire a 3rd party to do their deliveries and I found out they have these items on display...they just don't keep them in the store. (Yelp I really need y'all to add emojis on here). I was like, yeah I'm going up to the store and just cancel the order all together. Conveniently enough, Tee, was gone for the day, but she filled Megan (the other MOD) in on what was going on. read more

I'm a dork... I love coming here. Aisle upon aisle of home improvement goodness. Not that I know how to do most of it, but I can dream. We've never been disappointed with their selection. Why would we be? With a store the size of a small country, they should have everything. I especially like their light fixture and bathroom fixture sections. Helpful employees. My only 'dislike' of this place is the self checkout. Hate. Hate. Hate... but I hate self checkout at any store. I was excited about a new home security camera and I didnt want to wait for shipping through Amazon so I googled the store nearest to me that had them available for same day pickup. Googled showed me that the nearest location that sold them was a Home Depot store in Irving....it wasn't very close to me but I was willing to drive the 20-25 minutes to pick them up. Before I hit the road the first thing I did was hop on The Home Depots website which confirmed this location had 39 of the camera I was interested in available, next I called the store some lady confirmed again they had at least three of the WYZE cameras I was looking for available on hand. Cool so I hope in the car and make it to the location and after searching for the camera I couldn't find them, I saw all the Nest and Rings systems but none of the WYZE systems I drove almost 30 minutes out of my way for! Now normally I would order online and pickup in store but there were some other items I was possibly interested in and wanted to see them in person! Which clearly was a mistake! This location had sooo many employees(probably too many) and yet NONE of the employees stopped and asked if I needed assistance, I finally stopped a young male employee and asked about the camera...after about 10 minutes he said he would have to stop and ask his manager that maybe they "were locked up or something" Well He went over to his manager Ana Duran and asked her about the camera keep in mind I'm maybe a foot behind him and can hear the conversation clear as day instead of her coming to talk me she advised him to tell me that they don't know where they are, that they have never sold a WYZE unit and that it was possible that all 39 units were stolen by employees!!!! And that was the end of our conversation, nor her or her employee tried to offer me an alternative camera or see if there WBA's another brand I was interested smh What as waste of my time and my gas NEVER AGAIN!! I walked up to the contractor counter at around 5:40 one week day evening and waited and waited, figuring someone was just assisting another customer. I waited without help or acknowledgement for 25 mins. Then I went on a search for someone who actually wanted to make eye contact with me and offer assistance. At 6:05 pm, I finally found someone at the paint counter. I asked if they had anyone at the contractor desk they just said that they've been closed for 5 mins and they've already gone home. Once I told him I was in the market for a full kitchen, he jumped up trying to track someone down. I guess assistance is only given to those people in the market to spend over 15k in merchandise and labor. Needless to say I walked out from Home Depot completely dissappointed and gave 100% of my business to another Home Improvement store nearby. read more

i can't give this business zero stars, or i would. i have had several projects completed in my home and anytime i order online, i am routed to this nightmare of a store to get my project done. my door project went well, but my flooring and appliance projects were nothing short of disasters! home depot's vendor never informed me that the oven was out of stock and then scheduled a delivery that never happened. i waited at home and it never came, so i had to call appliance delivery and they informed me that i received erroneous delivery information the day before. a month later, i received my appliances. we decided against the refrigerator, so i immediately called home depot and scheduled a pick up. the vendor picked up the refrigerator as scheduled, but they ended up LOSING it. not my problem! home depot refused to refund MY money for over six weeks. i spent over five hours on the phone with incompetent staff who did not properly escalate my issue. i emailed the store manager who NEVER even took the time to respond to my email request for assistance. the staff needs additional training on how to handle issues. i disputed the charges on my card, which i shouldn't have had to do. home depot has not reached out to me in any way to apologize or to make this right. in conclusion, their competitor has earned a new customer. i have several more, large scale projects to complete. i'd rather swim in a pond of hungry gators than give home depot another dime of my hard earned money. they don't respect their customers! read more

Horrifying day labor experience! Man in maroon short bed, extended cab Frontier Nissan, hollered at me constantly, maliciously threw my solid wood beautifully detailed carved dining room chairs on parking lot concrete, deliberately destroyed the cord of my new exercise machine, and intentionally busted my straw garden hat, leaving a whole big enough for my 2 hands and 1 arm to fit through. Then he demanded $30 plus a $10 tip. I gave him $30 to get rid of him. He got no tip & really he deserves a lawsuit for property destruction. This abuser should come with a warning. However, at South Irving Home Depot, I experienced a lot of great employees that went above & beyond my expectations with a sincerely good heart. There are people that you meet in life that are bitter to do a good job, much less above & beyond. However, in this S. Irving location, I am blessed to have experienced fantastic service and fantastic employees. They make you feel that you are cared about as a person...naturally you like and respect a lot of their employees and look forward to shopping here. However, I want to warn anyone who is thinking about hiring day labor in the Home Depot or near by parking lots. Those people are not employed by Home Depot. The store manager told me that be calls the police to run them off every morning. Somehow they are always in the Home Depot parking lot when I am there or passing by. Sadly, I hired a day labor man (average to a little under average height Hispanic 40's or older, dark tan, brown eyes, normal build, normal weight) who drives a marroon Nissan Frontier with a short bed and cracked windshield. He was APPALLING! From the beginning, he demanded $30 cash, flips my things upside down is his truck, put obviously heavy item on obviouslyy fragile items, he hollers angrily at me when I asked him to hand me a piece of card board while I pad my furniture. Then while yelling at me for no reason, he deliberately throws new dining room chairs that I just bought, breaking both chairs. When I call him out on it, he tells me to rub pledge on it. Then he laughs sinisterly with another bitter mover. Then he continues to holler angrily at me for no reason throughout the drive. He is obviously the type of person who feels big by tearing another person down. After, I had a enough of him. I complained about my chairs getting broken. He kept responding, "It's ok." I told him if you hired me to fix your truck and I broke it more and wrecked the body, you would not want to hear, "It is OK." I told him that is theft by property damage. When we arrived at our destination, he continues insisting that he jerk and slam my furniture around. I had to INSIST that he not touch my furniture because I did not want anything else broken. He also, deliberately ripped the cord out of my new exercise machine, and also smashed my straw garden hat literally in half, breaking huge pieces of the hat, the cover and brim. I can literally put my entire 2 hands and 1 arm through the giant rip that he deliberately caused in my hat. Then he menacingly got in my face, demanding his $30 cash and a $10 tip! I gave him the $30 to get him out of my face. I told him that he broke my chairs by throwing them on the ground. He told me that I damaged them. I kept calling him out on the fact that I watched him throw my newly bought dining room chairs on the concrete parking lot pavement of the furniture store. Really he deserved nothing and should be sued in court for destroying 4 of my property pieces. I refused to give him a tip, even though he kept INSISTING & refusing to leave, trying to intimidate me into paying him. Then, he told me that he would not work for me again. I told him that, I considered that a favor, because he broke my chairs. He finally left. Now, I have to repair the 2 chairs, 1 exercise machine cord, and throw my garden hat in the trash because of this malicious bully. I hope that this guy harms no further victims using Home Depot parking lot and/ or any of the surrounding parking lots. Thank you for your time. I that you have a blessed day. read more

To write a review I had to give the one star. But I would not give them any stars. On May 31st. I went into HD to buy a washer and was there for over an hour and came out with nothing. I was treated so rudely and they where waiting on everyone that came in after me. They where running a sale and would not give me the sale and the military discount at the same time. They did not stand up to the price on the wall. After any hour and 15 min I left. I went to Lowes and was there 20 min with a washer on sale and used my military discount to boot. This Home Depot is the worst in the metroplex!! let me begin by saying that every time I go into this place I always ask myself why do I keep giving this place a chance. This HomeHome Depot does not only not acknowledge the customer but the employees seem to be bothered by questions and anything else that you are looking for. I needed a 3 x 6 panel cut and I had multiple employees passed me by and not one employee acknowledge me not one employee said hello or what I needed. When I finally was able to catch one of the employees attention and asked him I needed a panel cut he asked me if I was going to do more cuts than one and that if I did it was going to cost more money. I told him I only wanted one cut and that I have been waiting to be attended and that I didn't care how much it was going to cost it was just I needed to be done. He was very rude and acted like I was bothering him because I was coming in and asking for help. I will never be back this store sucks and it smells like crap when you're walking out it. Sure, plenty of stuff but it seems to a common problem of unfriendly staff at any Home Depot I visit.

This location mostly seems to cater to contractors and lacks the diverse products of the other Irving location. Especially when it comes to the garden center. They always load up on seasonal staff for Spring and Summer but any other time of year you might be hard pressed to find an associate. If you do find one, hope it's an employee who has been around a while and knows something. This location as many others, along with Lowe's has the majority of the staff young, clueless, and unmotivated to assist. read more
