Late review that was lost in my edits from 2020. I purchased kitchen cabinets from home Depot and today I tried to return the pieces of extra trim that were not used. Since I purchase these through a contractor I did not have a receipt nor did I have any knowledge of which home Depot they were ordered from, however I did have an order number from home Depot. I went to my nearest home Depot , Northgate, which is 20 minutes away from my home only to be told that I could not return the five pieces of trim because they were not ordered from that specific home Depot and asked me to drive about 45 minutes to a home Depot that is out of my way. I asked to speak to a manager to see if there was any way that he can make an exception because I just drove 20 minutes and did not want to drive another 45 minutes to a home Depot out of of the way. I asked to speak to a manager however the customer service was hesitant to call them. The assistant manager Noah came after a few minutes I explained my situation and gave him my order number. he said that he found the order but could not refund my money because it was not purchased at that specific store. I don't understand how home Depot could pride themselves on customer service when they are refusing to refund something that was purchased from their company and then asking their customers to go out of their way and spend more time and money during the pandemic. I purchased from HD because of the fair prices and customer service, but on this day I was disappointed to say the least. I have met the store manager before this incident and I believe he would have made an exception in this case not only because it's the right thing to do but because I believe he would have remembered me when I advise him of one of his employees spitting on the exit floor of the store exit threshold while the employee was counting the people exiting next to the line of people waiting to enter. I haven't had an issue with this location since this incident and continue to visit. read more

Ryobi Reconditioned Tools...Just an FYI when buying reconditioned tools, WHEN THEY BREAK you will have to get in the car and drive to a service center to drop it off and show them a receipt. In my case that means driving 1hours+ each direction to drop it off and another 1+hours each direction to pick it up. I bought reconditioned Carbon Fiber 40V string trimer 2/17/25 it appears carbon fiber shaft is broken. Ryobi will not replace it or pay for shipping the defective tool for repair. I usually buy all my home improvement project supplies at 'Homie Depot' or Lowe's. Of course, I never miss the garden section since I am such a lover of flowers and plants. We recently moved, and I converted the front hall closet into a pantry since the kitchen didn't have one. The room I converted was attached to the kitchen, so it made more sense to be a pantry instead of a coat closet. I'm not sure why the complex didn't just convert it themselves. They tend not to want to spend any money on upgrades, but I did ask. The room sizes in apartments here in Tennessee are smaller than what I am accustomed to, so utilizing every inch of space in an efficient way is essential. I wanted to accomplish making an efficient space with shelves, hooks, and bins, and doing it by making the conversion temporary. I did not want to have to 'put it back' so to speak when I moved out. Mission accomplished. So I chose several of these cool black wire 3-shelf goodies which came in a box that was VERY lightweight to carry. I'm not very handy when it comes to assembling anything [especially IKEA furniture lol], but these shelving units were a cinch. There were even YouTube videos showing the complete assembly done by several YouTubers. There are many more larger sizes to choose from, but this one worked so well, and was manageable for me. I bought one more to use against the end of the kitchen cabinets and it looks very modern. I use this one to house decorative kitchen pieces and frequently-used items. With the already-existing shelf in the closet, these worked out perfectly for what I needed to store, as well as it freeing up space in the limited amount of cabinets in the kitchen. Actually, I got quite good at assembling these. So good that I ended up buying several more of these units for my huuuuuugeeeeee walk-in closet! read more

my wife and I rented a truck to grab a washer from her uncle. when we got the truck it was in a bad way there was dirt all over the floor and smelled like the sweat of the last guys that used it but it was busy and they waved the $200 dollar cleaning fee so what ever. when we got the washer we realized we needed a different plug to go in to our wall we go to google and type in "washer cord 4 prong" and it shows us adapters so we go to the appliance section and as we walk up we see 2 employees having a conversation we approach and ask if they have the adapters well the man there acts completely irritated that we've even asked and acts like a complete donkey. he had a completely condescending tone and was just a total jerk because we came asking for "fire hazard" which was the direction their website showed anyways complete garbage employee and really needs to take a customer service course. his unwillingness to help was absolutely wild. read more

I wish we would have purchased cabinets elsewhere. They were installed poorly. Our trim around the top is falling AGAIN. The doors do not hold up under heat from the range, which was never relayed to us before buying. The outer edges are buckling and pulling back around the edges. We had to use Alien tape to hold the phantom plating of a false door. For $14,000, these issues should not be occurring. If you cook at all, I would not recommend these cabinets AT ALL!! For the other issues, it was poor craftsmanship that have caused them. read more

Still a huge fan of the Home Depot. Since my last review, I have had multiple encounters with outstanding employees. I always try to remember their names but I'm getting old. I really enjoy the service attitude I encounter at the Hixson store. Low pressure, but they say hi and let you know that they are available if you need help. They never act like they are too busy. Well, with me they haven't. Seems like that is the norm for the "other" box store. I especially enjoy the Ryobi tools that I get here. Affordable for the average diy guy/gal. And durable. Love my set. This time of year is what they call Ryobi days. Really great deals on the tools and great deals on the large batteries. 2 for 1! Had to update my review to 5 stars as I come here often and am very pleased. read more

I stopped at Home Depot today and what a terrible mistake it was the floor crew didn't offer any assistance and the management seem to be unavailable while doing nothing I am really disappointed I went today to buy a shop vac lots of cleaning supplies supplies and a dishwasher not to mention my company has spent over $3 million this year with the Home Depot at corporately I'm definitely going to consider alternative measures read more

I love my Home Depot. I'm there almost weekly. The people that work there are friendly and helpful. I like how they open up the back at Spring time for stuff like mulch so you can just drive in and get it after paying. I haven't had too many issues with things being out of stock. Usually they either carry it or they don't. I am noticing them move away from a lot of cut goods. For example I went to get a small amount of tubing but all I could get was a roll. This to me was what has always set them apart from Lowes. Well that and that Lowes is what I call fru-fru. I don't want me cut goods to go away! Ok if they do I will still shop here. read more

Seriously.....how much would it cost to have enough lumber carts? Felt like an idiot with all the other lost souls walking around the parking lot fighting over the few that got unloaded. Finally gave up and went to Lowe's where they had the carts just sitting out there to use like it was OK or something. read more

Home Depot is guilty of false advertising and very poor customer service. On your website it states, " If you find a current lower price on an identical, in-stock item from any retailer, we will match the price and beat it by 10%. Just bring the ad, printout or photo with you to the register for validation." I did just that and my local Hixson, TN store refused to honor the price match guarantee on an electric range I wanted to buy. The associate claimed it was because the competitor was not local. She agreed that Home Depot is guilty of false advertising and advised me to try Lowes which I did. Lowes readily areed to honor their price match guarantee. Therefore, I will be canceling my Home Depot credit card and shopping at Lowes instead from now on. I will also be filing a false advertising complaint with BBB. read more

I am very disappointed in Home Depot for continuing to use Romanoff Renovations and by the way you don't have a choice for carpet installation. My experience was horrible and it lasted for months. They damaged a door by cutting a couple of inches off the bottom to intall carpet and it took months for them to fix it. There were other problems too. The first batch of carpet was sent with black marks through out, so they had to order more and it was on backorder. I tried to pick another carpet to speed things up but most things on their display is on backorder so there was no way to do this install in a timely manner. I went weeks with 3 rooms of furniture piled in other rooms waiting on a reorder of carpet. It was just one thing after another. I was not offered any discount or compensation for the stressful position I was put in that dragged on. By the end of this ordeal I just wanted everything ripped out and a refund. Home Depot should really consider not using them. I will not be using Home Depot for my next flooring which will be in the next month or so because of this lack of choice for an installer. This company has very poor communication and Home Depot had to intervene. I wish I had read reviews before I did this project. read more

Veterans today Vietnam Veterans Day, went to Home depot bought $50 ,tried to get 10 percent vet discount, cashier said no, has to be service related, seriously going to war, not service related. Most depot honor Vets, the Hixson chooses not to. There is a Lowes close by, just saying Don't get me wrong, home depot a favorite, have a history with Bernie Marcus, just not this Depot. read more

If I could give a lower score than one star I would. I bout two exterior doors and hardware from homedepot, it sat in the store with our name on it for a week before anyone would ever contact us to schedule the installation. We finally had the doors installed and I was not happy with the overall workmanship but the installer basically told me that's just the way it was going to be and they couldn't do better. Fine. Fast forward to 3 months later, the door handle keeps falling off in my hand, the deadbolt is a bear to lock and unlock. I ended up getting locked out of my house and the door no longer locks. Once again it took me two weeks to get someone to listen to me and schedule an installer to come out and repair the work that I was originally guaranteed would be repaired and that the Home Depot stands behind their installations. The day of the repair came and went with the installer not calling or showing up. I will never buy anything from Home Depot again and I highly suggest to any readers of this to never have them install or deliver their products. You will not be pleased. read more
