The guy at the self checkout basically called me a thief because I had three orders to pay for. I pay for multiple orders there on daily basis for my employment (approximately 50k+ yearly). The guy said, we generally don't let people do this". I have been doing that exact thing for the past 2.5 years and no one has ever said anything except this rude, disrespectful guy. Not sure whats going on with Home Depot. Product selection is very limited except for specific common items. They have a whole row of light bulbs and only carry FEIT vs Philips in which I needed. I find they are only supporting one brand in alot of supplies needed except paint. Never seem to have a good selection in many items. I guess will shop alternative stores/or Amazon in the future to save on a 30 mile drive only to not have products needed. Very disappointed . read more

If there was an option to give minus 10 stars I would. Purchased a garage door opener online with installation package. Contract says I would receive a call from the installer within three business days. Two weeks later and daily phone calls to Home Depot and still no one has been able to help me move this process along. Every time I've been told they would call back with an update and it still hasn't happened once. The level of incompetence at this store is astounding. Save yourself the trouble and just go somewhere else. Its a shame that in 2023 customer service is officially dead. If you're looking for this service, it is a service they clearly cannot fulfill. Bend Home Depot screwed me up and it cost me a lot of money. I called about ordering some items that were special order and needed for a large project. I had 3 people ready to go to work and had been planning this for a month. Everything was in place. A week before the project I ordered the items from Home Depot in Bend to pick up. I make the order by phone as I live 250 miles away. The item was supposed to be in on a Thursday but could be Friday. I called Thursday and it was not in so Friday I called and found out that the item had never been ordered. I WAS. NOT HAPPY!!!! Now I had to let the crew know that Home Depot screwed up my order and the item will not be in until the following Monday (ordered through Parr Lumber) and we won't be able to get to the project until Tuesday. Now I have two days to do 6 days of work because my crew only allowed for a week of work. They are good friends and I was going to pay them and I offered to pay them for several days extra because they set aside that time to help me. I am 75 and can't do a lot of the work. Thanks Home Depot. You cost me money and time and I still don't have the items. read more

So, after many years my electric stapler failed in the middle of a job. I have been a loyal Home Depot customer several decades. I am no rookie, so I looked up a replacement stapler and store shows 3 in stock. I drive the 25 miles to my local store to buy more insulation rolls and a new staple gun. Can't find the gun in the listed location so I ask one of the help to find it. The person says "yes we show 3 and I will get one for you." Why wasn't it restocked on the shelf? So I go get the insulation and it is still in the isle not unpacked or restocked either. Mind you, it is sitting in the isleway still banded and shrink wrapped. I cut the banding and shrink wrap and get the insulation lodes on the cart to return to the tool section and get the tool. Oops, the box does not contain the tool but something else. No other options possible except an electric stapler kit at twice the price. Ok, I buy it and it is dead on arrival when I try it at home. If management reads this, the moral to the story is instead of the staff standing around, get them to restock the empty shelves in a timely manner so the isles are clear and mistakes in inventory are discovered timely. I need up getting the stapler at a local Ace hardware that was actually closer to my home. read more

They were understaffed, but help in the store was good (although slow). Delivery of the fridge is another story. They had difficulty giving me a time. Finally get it figured out and then the night before they canceled it and rescheduled for 3 days later. Didn't hear from them so assumed the same timeframe. Morning of the delivery did get a confirmation for end of day delivery (perfect) and 30 minutes later they changed the time. I was told it was rescheduled for the next day but never got a confirmation. I called again and their system didn't show a delivery time so they put me on hold for 45 minutes until I hung up. Called them back and they still have no idea what time the delivery is scheduled for. They wanted to put me on hold again but agreed to call me back when they figured it out. Still no call but eventually got an email saying they had no information and I would need to call back to see if it's rescheduled. I have spent many hours just trying to coordinate the delivery and still have no idea what day or what time it will happen read more

All the workers I encounter always have a pleasant disposition, and I've been coming to this Depot for years. I think all these bad customer service reviewers should to relax and be patient. This Home Depot is honestly terrible. Every time I need help with something it takes 20-30 minutes for someone to even get to me. On one visit I waited 45 minutes for help with drills because they only had one guy working who was obviously trying his best. I couldn't get the drill I wanted elsewhere because no one carries it, so I had to wait because it was a present. It'd been about a year since I went to Home Depot because I refuse to go considering the service. I needed some clip on lamps for a reptile tank and decided to give them another shot. I asked three people for help, and never actually got help. At least the girl at the front desk tried to look it up for me on the computer (couldn't find it, although I knew they sell them). Then when I asked the other two people, they said they'd send someone and no one showed up. Not only that, but I saw an employee go up and help someone else in lighting even though I had been standing there waiting and they had called on the radio that a woman needed help in lighting. I talked to the manager after I ended up finding the lamps myself. He said he was sorry that happened. Nothing about his attitude was apologetic. In fact, he didn't seem to care at all, even when I explained this wasn't the first time it happened. Because of his response, I left the items I was going to purchase because I don't see any reason to give a company who has such awful customer service any of my money. I went next door to Lowe's, was helped by two people, and got the lamps I was looking for in five minutes. There are no excuses for customer service that is that bad. read more

Sarah in the Paint Department at store #4008 (Bend Or.) is absolutely WONDERFUL. She went above and beyond in helping me match some paint that included involving IT Department in the process. I left my sample and my name and phone number and within a day or two she called to say she was able to do it and that my paint would be ready for pickup. The Paint Department is very busy but Sarah has patience and enviable customer service in her interactions with each customer. And she stays smiling. I can't recommend her enough. Communicated their arrival time, were quick, clean, tidy, respectful & enjoyable to chat with during installation. Had a complete carpet installation in late December 2017. Contractors accidentally made a crack in living room drywall ceiling while pounding/stretching the carpet. It wasn't noticed until later that night. Home Depot sent an email asking if it was a 5 star job and I responded to it with a report of the damage. A month later, I still haven't been called about it, so it seems likely they just don't give af. We couldn't wait around and had to fix it ourselves, so the carpet job also ended up costing supplies to fix the crack and repaint the ceiling as well as labor. Seriously bad customer service on a $3200 job. I'm not a huge customer ($5-7k/year, in-store) but can't comfortably do any more business with Home Depot if I can't trust them. And just to clarify: this crack was not there prior to carpet installation - we'd been sleeping on the living room floor for 2 weeks (right under where the crack is now) as we had all the furniture moved out. The night of the carpet install, we laid down, and there it was, a 15' long crack all the way across the ceiling. In fairness, the crew did do a good job on the carpet. They were friendly and worked pretty fast - the whole job only took a few hours from ripping out the old carpet to vacuuming the new one. read more

Today I went to get a gallon of paint. We had a very nice older lady helping us. Their were 5 of us that wanted paint. Well, there were 3 guys standing and she asked for help ( 1 of them was named Steve). They all walked off. Then one guy was restocking and my husband asked if he could help. He told my husband he was busy. My husband then went to the service desk she said, they were trying to find somebody to help her. Why would you have a 75yr old lady picking up 5 gallons of paint. We have shopped and asked for help to buy a hot water heater, we were told just go down that isle. We left and also went to Lowes. We bought our hot water heater. This was years ago, when we were building our own home. Your "MALE staff" at Home Depot should be "ASHAMED" of themselves. She had to get on the PA system when they were right in front of us. Go figure. Then the lady I helped put a 5 gallon bucket of paint in her cart was behind me, she walked out and left right behind us., without the paint. Sadly as for the comment of the older staff, maybe they need the money and have to work. Be Kind to them! read more

We recently bought a washer/dryer from Home Depot, Bend location. Our experience with them was beyond frustrating. After a half hour of looking at all the floor models, we finally decided on a pair we liked. The salesman brought us to the computer to order our units, only to tell us "actually we are sold out of that unit". Back to the drawing board...After a while of going back and forth with the sales guy on what to get, we finally made a decision to buy the Maytag pair. He actually convinced us to buy this model because it came with a $50 rebate. So, after buying our units, we scheduled a delivery date and went home to do our rebate online. Apparently, our unit was not actually eligible for a rebate after all. We called Home Depot and they told us to that we would have to come back to the store to fill out a form if we wanted our rebate, which we did. Then, the next day, our washer/dryer came. The two boys installed our washer, but told us that it was unsafe to plug in and test our dryer because the plug plate was loose. That night, we called an electrician to come out and fix the plate cover. While he was back there, he mentioned that the wiring for the washer/dryer was done improperly and a part that would prevent the wires from rubbing during vibration from the dryer was not installed and that this was very dangerous. He fixed the issue and plugged in the dryer. $100 later we called Home Depot to explain the issue. They stated that they would refund us the $100 but they doubt that their delivery people actually made a mistake and that they install 5 units per day. I asked them if their delivery people were actually certified electricians which they answered, "no". Once the dryer was plugged in, we noticed that the heating unit was not working. The clothes were running for 2 hours, but not heating up. I called them to let them know the issue and they said that since it was a Friday, the request for a new unit would not go through until Monday and since it was a Holiday week (Thanksgiving) they might not be able to get us a unit until the following week. I explained that I had family coming in town for the Holidays and I had wet clothes in the wash and I couldn't wait 2 more weeks. The agent let me know that someone would contact me the next day. I still have not heard from them, so fortunately, my husband was able to fix the issue. We still have not yet heard back from anyone. We will never buy any appliances from them again!! Worst customer experience I have ever had. Go to Lowes if you want a washer/dryer. read more

I went to find unfinished wood coasters to paint. . Several bloggers said they had found theirs at HD. Searched and found none. A very pleasant young man "Dusty" asked if I needed help! I sure did. He helped me find a nice piece of poplar and cut it in 4x4 pieces (6). I can't say enough about his people skills and efficiency. It is very difficult to get help in thIs store. Many of the employees seem disinterested or bored. Very little eye contact and no smiles. Dusty, one of the assistant store managers, was a huge exception . Thank you again, Dusty! read more

On my last two visits to the Redmond store I have been denied my Military discount. Six months ago I paid the money to get a new drivers license with the Military designation on it to get my discount. I have used it over 30 times since in Redmond and in Arizona with no problem. Now apparently Home Depot only considers me a veteran on certain days of the year. I have spent thousands of dollars at Home Depot over the years and after serving four years in the Air Force During the Viet Nam war this is what I get. Lowes by the way does give me a Military discount and all I need is my phone number to get it. I will no longer use Home Depot in the future if there is a Lowes nearby which their usually is. This is the worst HD I have ever dealt with. Ordered a washer dryer unit in early December, said it would be 30 days, 1st delivery attempt, phoned me 2 hrs into their 4 hr window, and said they would not deliver. When asked, I was told to phone for a new date. Wrong, they need to phone, I am the customer. Yesterday I got another phone call for a delivery window, waited at my home for 4 hrs, not one call. When I phoned the store manager, he was not available. RETURN MY CALL IF YOU ARE THE STORE MANAGER, YOUR PEOPLE HAVE WASTED 8 HRS OF MY WORK DAY. I WORK ON COMMISSIONS. I have had many frustrating experiences here and their stance on gun politics have made it that much easier to spend my hardware budget elsewhere. I greatly dislike Home Depot because they have all these pre-fabricated items that are great if you're building whatever they are intended for but I have come across many projects where they simply don't have what I need despite it being this huge store with seemingly everything under the sun. It's like they stock the store with a general selection of everything.... You need ceramic bathroom tiles? Here's your options, White, Black ,Blue, Green, Tan and maybe 3 kinds of fancy patterns. You need wood stain? They have 3 different brands with 2 different size cans with 3 different tones. If you have any sort of imagination, do not go to Home Depot. If you have a funky project where you need to repurpose the materials you are in search of, do not go to Home Depot. I came in the other day and needed some nuts and bolts but I need a specific pitch for the threads for this certain size bolt. They have a sample of the exact thread bolt I need but after a thorough search of their stock I can't find the bolts I need... They are not sold out... they simply don't have them in stock. I asked an associate in case I'm blind and he tells me they have them and steers me to these brassy ones and he assures me they are the correct thread pitch. I get home and they are wrong! So frustrating! Not only that but they push these ridiculous packs of like 2 to 3 bolts per bag... who buys 3 bolts at a time? If you want bulk bolts, nuts and screws they have them but they are not prominently displayed. Now, turning to their politics. They provided uncontested space for an open carry gun rally in Texas which is currently destroying our social fabric. For all these reasons, I will not be coming back. read more

I give this Home Depot zero stars for safety. I was there on Friday, October 23, 2020. At least 20 people in the store didn't wear a mask, including many walking in unmasked. When I asked multiple staff members about this, I was told an identical response - "we are not allowed to approach unmasked people." I later telephoned, and was told by a man identifying as a manager that "we have been directed by Corporate Headquarters not to talk to or ask unmasked people to leave." Everyone there is so helpful. I don't know that much about certain aspects of home maintenance so it can get overwhelming. However, the sales associates are always friendly and very helpful. We ordered carpet and flooring from HD, my husband took the day off and was there when the guy came out to measure, my husband noticed that the measurements were incorrect, he went to Home Depot and spent an hour face to face explaining how the sketch is incorrect and literally drawing a new sketch to explain the issue. Once again my husband was took the day off when the contractors came, the contractor did a fantastic job, however the carpet was shorted. We called home depot and were told it would take two weeks to get a 6x10 piece of carpet (seriously after they made this error we had to wait two more weeks) . After two weeks I called on Monday to see if the carpet was in I was told I would get a call from the contractor on TH. Well you guessed it TH came and no call, so I called HD and got the run around and got sent to a voicemail. By the way no where along the line did anyone apologize or offer any compensation (aka discount or anything at all) Called back and got the store manager and was told that the carpet was not in and would not be for another week. The property is a rental and every day we wait for HD to 'fix' their mistake costs us money as it cannot be rented with a large chunk of carpet missing. My recommendation is go with the competition and if you can find a local mom and pop you like go with them. Shame on you Home Depot. read more

Bought a washer and dryer and had it delivered and installed yesterday. Both the washer and dryer are not working for us, the washer will not get the clothes clean and the dryer takes about 6 hrs to dry one load if it even does. Called Home Depot to return them and was told by the lady that called back that it was "buyers remorse" and they can not take them back. This is B.S! I am honestly more inclined to write a review of a restaurant or bar, but in a town known for poor customer service, Home Depot's employees are the exception! Do not listen to the 1 star review- the staff are never in your face, they are simply friendly and willing to help! There is always someone by the door to greet you and ask what you are looking for so they can direct you-so helpful, the place is huge! We have purchased appliances twice from them and each time, the salesperson has been incredibly informative and not trying to sell you something you don't need-they do not work for commission. We purchased a new fridge and they provide free delivery as well as free haul-away of your old one. I went to a Home Depot back East with my father to find a part for his snowblower. We wandered around for 15 minutes before we found the aisle we needed. We couldn't find anyone that worked there to answer his questions, and when we finally found an employee, they didn't have a clue. So as far as I'm concerned, we've got it pretty good here folks! I highly recommend Home Depot for all of your home improvement needs. read more

I don't normally write reviews for large corporations, but I just need to say how impressed I was with Home Depot today. We shop there a lot, and staff is always helpful and great, prices are great, all around great. But today was the first time we did the Kids Workshop for our 7 year old and I was blown away! First off, I don't know how the staff tolerates that many children at once, but never once did they seem annoyed. I couldn't do it! They were so helpful and kind, and one of the girls (wish I got her name, I'll catch it at the next one!) even walked around and helped the kids with their projects while the parents stared off into space. My son had a blast and made an amazing Valentine's box. We will be doing this again for sure. Thank you so much for a great morning!! read more

I have been disappointed (to put it nicely) with them every time I go in. From associates standing around talking, giving up when they don't know the answer instead of finding out, shortness when asked a question, to lack of any product knowledge! We are renovating our new home that we just purchased and we have been purchasing everything from flooring to light fixtures. I am so frustrated with this store it's crazy. I love this place. I've had so much help on DIY projects from people that work here. They've been able to guide me through the process and I've even called in from home after talking with a guy at the store, so he could explain what I needed to do for my ceiling fan. Store is always organized and being a veteran, they have 5 designated parking spots for me right in the front that say veteran parking with an American flag, and if you are a veteran make sure to bring in some kind of proof you were in the military and you'll enjoy a 10% discount at checkout. read more

We purchased $650+ of merchandise from Home Depot in Bend over the last 2 days for a project we are working on, something we have been doing often over the past 3 years for our project. They didn't have one of the single light boxes available for purchase, so they used another sku, a clearance sku I guess, and rang up the item. The item was rang up as clearance to get it on the receipt, the salesman reassured us, but then it was one of the items we had to exchange today, which resulted in a less than desirable customer service experience with their employee Ashley. First she stated that Home Depot doesn't accept returns for clearance items, "Huh?" I questioned this and so she asked her co-worker who said they actually DO accept returns on clearance items, which I reminded her that our item wasn't even really a clearance item. She then said that there is a maximum allowed amount, less than what we paid a mere 15 hours before, for the "clearance" product we were returning, in the exact condition it was purchased in, that wasn't even a clearance item. I asked if she would make an exception, given the situation and their employee just using that sku for a regularly priced item. She refused and said she would not refund the whole amount, only the allowed amount for returning a clearance item. I let her know that was a bit ridiculous and that we would take our shopping list for the day, which included picking out new appliances and kitchen cabinetry, additional lighting for our entire house, and a few other odds and ends to Lowe's next door. Ashley at Home Depot certainly could have cared less that her actions lost a huge sale for the company she works for. I will now take all our business to Lowe's and instruct anyone purchasing for the 70 locations I manage maintenance for, throughout Oregon, also take that business to Lowe's from this day forward. read more

Wow, I'm really surprised that someone would be upset at an abundance of customer service! I, for one, was totally impressed the last time I visited Bend's Home Depot because everyone working there was so friendly, willing to help and knowledgeable. I was in and out of there with the five items I needed in less than 10 minutes. That NEVER would have happened at a Home Depot back in Phoenix, AZ (where I moved here from 2 yrs ago). Shoot, you could never even FIND an employee at a Home Depot in Phoenix, let alone have one show you where whatever you were looking for was located! I say "Great job, Bend Home Depot Employees!"
