Good value for tools and general purpose equipment. Sometimes stocking is an issue, especially with the sales/specials.

People are usually very picky. However, I am a traveling IT person requires to have tools for construction sites as Field Network Systems Engineer I appreciate the tools and prices. The Hercules line ups are my favorite as its comparable to DeWalt tools. The Beuer tools is like the Milwaukee brand. They have a ton of other stuff. The only thing is I like to have more power for my tools. I do have a couple of their impact guns and they're wonderful there. Electric powered one is perfect for changing out car, tires and axles and cars I took one off of a truck. The electric one has a good torque. It's at least 1000. I have no problem with that one I own that thing and it works wonderful. It is a little heavy but it does the job real well.. if you're looking to buy snap on the style tools, they do have a nicer line which is their icons. Because of the amount of construction work that I do sometimes I have to eat it on a tool so I usually stick to the Pittsburgh ones, but their Pittsburgh line also has a good lifetime warranty so I've actually returned a couple things and I got a brand new one so Harbor freight does honor the warranties really well Especially love the warranty on the Hercules lineup because it also warranties your batteries for three years and your tools for five years. They do have that ITC membership that pays for itself you get the coupons and then other little free beads but the benefit what I use it most for it attracts all your purchases online with no problem. You create an account it always finds your stuff you're in the system for everything that you buy so much more useful. It's worth like the 50 bucks or whatever.. now the store itself they do keep everything in stock as possible. I go through probably 80 to 100 different stores all through California, Nevada, Utah , New Mexico Arizona, Texas, and the one here in Bend. If you're looking for a good tool set instead of spending gobs of money start here there's nothing wrong with any other tools here because they have tools according to your budget you can't say the same thing to another hardware store like Home Depot or Lowe's there stuff already starts up as much higher prices. Ace Hardware is another good place to buy tools except when you're on a budget or you lost a specific socket it's much easier to buy a set from Harbor freight than it is to buy a single one at any of the other stores. Most of the stores usually have a few employees in there. It's to keep the costs down for the customers when you have too many employees in the store that drives the cost of tools up and for some of you crying about things in the store keep in mind you're not paying any sales tax You go to anyone of the other stores outside of Oregon your paying a sales tax specifically California sales tax can be really expensive and I know this because I also live in Los Angeles so when I come up here to relax, I appreciate going into this harbor freight because my father-in-law has a bunch of their tools as well.,I think the rest of you are being too picky and sometimes you have to remember things are on high demand. Be patient. Let's be honest none of the stuff here is manufactured here in United States so if they're missing something be patient because it's coming off a boat, but savings gets passed down to us. Lastly, for the staff here everybody I've talked to at least it's been knowledgeable and friendly. They're not Home Depot workers for most of them are retirees knowing about the trade. Some of these are just kids in college so I'll give them a break. I work a specific trade on the field. I wear construction hat, best gloves, and construction shoes and I'm not sitting in front of a desk all day I'm out the field with a sledgehammer, running cable tagging lines, and more. Harbor Freight is the most despicable tool store in existence. I will no longer shop there, under any circumstances. Both Home Depot or Lowes will garner my patronage henceforth. Almost everything sold in HF is made in China. Both their tools and equipment won't last much longer than 90 days, which is their usual warranty. To make matters worse they don't carry parts for the tools and equipment they sell. I purchased a 150 lbs. psi Central Pneumatic compressor a little over a year ago and the switch went out. They still sell the compressor but they don't carry the parts for it's repair, including the switch. I replaced the switch from a part sold on Amazon and got it working again but the valves inside the compressor motor then went out. It's going to the dump my next trip. Any more compressors will come from Home Depot or Lowes. In addition, they use TeleCheck, which continually rejects checks I've written to the Harbor Freight in Bend, OR. Now since we've moved from San Bernardino, CA to Oregon they say, at 70 years old, we don't have enough check writing experience. We have over 50 years of writing checks and a credit rating of 810. TeleCheck is a joke and Harbor Freight, which uses them, is a joke. Spend your money at a more reputable business rather than wasting good money at one of these stores. read more

I have been shopping at Harbor freight tools for years. In that time I have seen the quality of the merchandise improve substantially. I challenge you to take a photo of the item you find at Harbor freight and compare to the item you find elsewhere. The difference is the label. Nothing else. At least from the homeowners perspective, these tools perform well and are durable. The selection of tools is amazing and the price is even more amazing. I always shop at Harbor tools first, and if for some reason they don't have what I'm looking for, I reluctantly go elsewhere. This is my go to place for almost everything that relates to tools.I have had great luck with Harbor freight and I'm pretty confident you will too. Give it a try. read more

I walk in to Harbor Fraight with a printout of the handheld cutoff tool I wish to buy. I show the male clerk what I'm looking for He starts showing me hand grinders. No it's a electric cutoff tool His next remark is he dose not know what a cutoff electric tool is i show him the printout Can you look it up on the computer No he won't or can't Next he says the online is not up to date with what's in the store I tell him it showed the tool is in stock at the Bend Oregon store on the computer at our home today 12/14/21 at about 8:00 AM I ask him where the electric cutoff tools are located He tells me dose not know what a cutoff tool is and walks off i found him to be VERY Rude. I did find the cutoff tools then I went looking for cutof Not finding any I walked out the Bend Harbor Freight store You would think an employee would know the merchandise or ask his coworker the location. Beware the false advertising/bait and switch at this store. Picked up the mail on Saturday. Included was a one page flyer for Harbor Freight. On the flyer were advertised "10 inch pneumatic tires and rims. Regular $6.95 reduced to $3.99". We needed tires for a garden cart, so took the coupon to the Bend, Oregon HF store perused the tire rack and picked out $6.95 tires as per the flyer. At the checkout we were told that these were not the tires on sale, but the tires regular price $4.99 were the ones the coupon was for. After a little arguing it was plain that the store was not going to honor the coupon. We exchanged the tires for the $4.99 ad left. Got home, not "10 inch" tires, but 9 inch. Do not know if all HF stores do this bait and switch, but do know the Bend, Oregon store will not get any more of my business. read more

I shop there all the time for small and large items. People are about as good as costumer service gets (not that good) Tools are cheep but there are plenty of stuff that works just find like . lock tight, tape, 110 volt saws-all, are compressors.... it's a grate place to find lots of stuff you need at home as well read more

Do not shop here. I've got a local business and have spent thousands at harbor freight. They would not return a brand new item in box unopened without receipt despite showing bank receipt. They could not "override the system". This is 2017 and no other retailers operate this way. They managed to send me a million ads by email but "no email on file for receipts". They thought it was funny and sarcastically said "so you spent ten grand here one time?". Personally I don't find that hilarious. That's my last purchase at harbor freight and I'll be putting my gift card, and story, for sale on Craigslist. read more

Useless customer service from this company. Just wanted to make a purchase but didn't because I couldn't get the help I needed. Prices are good and the quality of tools is fair for the price. Do your own research, use the coupons, (you can print one online or take a screenshot), but be prepared for terrible service from the company as a whole. These guys sell tools cheap. Sometimes not the best quality stuff but incredibly cheap. Look for their ads and pick up a free flashlight or tape measure with purchase. We've gotten a number of items here and all were worth what we paid for them. read more

I like Harbor Freight tools, they are usually decent tools at a decent price. However, I will never buy anything from them online. It has been a horror story. I've only ordered from them online twice and I've been severely disappointed %100 of the time! The first time I ordered a solar panel kit for a Christmas gift. I ordered it 6 weeks before Christmas to give them plenty of time. They said it was delivered 2 weeks before Christmas but after many, many calls to customer service, they couldn't find where it was. The week after Christmas, the person that moved into my old house called me and said that there was a package on his deck that had my name on it and looked like it had been there for weeks. I gave my gift in a box that was nearly disintegrated because it spent all that time out in the rain and snow. I could understand the mistake if I HADN"T updated all of my delivery info, but this is not the case. The next time I ordered a shop press for a Father's Day gift. I ordered it 4 weeks before Father's Day, it never arrived. I called customer service, was on hold for more than an hour, was told they delivered it, but couldn't tell me where. Then they said something happened at the trucking company and they would have to resubmit the order. All of June goes by, no shop press. They took the money from my account on June 3rd. Then after 4 calls, each more than an hour on hold, they said they would return my money, and still nothing, it's July 31! I guess I'll have to rectify the situation by getting my bank involved in a credit card fraud case! Don't know what else to do! read more
