Damaged doors.
Lizzie C.

Home Depot does not even deserve 1 star. I ordered a new refrigerator last month and it arrived damaged with dents and scratches. I was told new doors would be installed free of charge. I've been given the run around of probably 20 different people for the installation of doors the past month. How hard is it for Home Depot to deliver and provide damaged free products. Never buying appliances here again.

Just like a Canadian Home Depot, but with much better selection, and very competitive pricing. Parking is plentiful in the nice large lot in front of the building. The selection is quite a bit better than the Canadian stores. I would say 20-30% more products for every category I looked into. Not only that, but pricing is MUCH cheaper for many items such as LED bulbs and lamps, even factoring in the exchange rate. Service is decent, and the staff were mostly quite helpful. I was able to find what I needed, for a great price.

Extremely slow customer service. Buy in store, do not attempt to pick up online orders here.

Bought a Craftsman garage…read morecabinet and AFTER I unboxed it and began putting it together, I found it was missing several button head screws and matching nuts. It had a dent in the side as well, but nothing terrible. I get it, there should be NO dents and scratches, but after loading the 120 pound thing home and unboxing it, I had to ask myself, "how badly do I want to take this whole thing back for a small dent?" So I opted to just go in and pick up matching screws and bolts. Contacted the very unkempt young man at customer service, who told me there was nothing they could do for me and suggested I call Craftsman to have them send me the missing screws and nuts. GREAT customer service there buddy! I suggested MAYBE he help me find replacement parts because I hoped that a place like Lowe's would carry something like screws and nuts. He told me I could try looking in the aisle with screws. I commented that it might be hard to find them and he said he would call someone over. I went and began perusing the screw aisle just across the row from customer service and easily in view of the customer service counter. No one came and I had not found the replacements for over 10 minutes. Not one person had approached the customer service counter while I waited, yet the rep made only the initial call! I finally decided just to walk out, when I walked past a Craftsman tool display. There was an employee working with some of the tools, so I asked her for help. Stephanie was super kind and helped me find the screws and nuts in a few minutes and gave me suggestions for dealing with the dent. Super kind and super helpful. Stephanie is a superstar and the only reason I'm giving 4 stars! Without her, Lowe's just expects me to call up the company and wait two weeks or whatever with a half-built cabinet in my garage-booooo!

I love this place. If I have a home or garden project, Ferndale Ace Hardware is my go to store…read more This year alone they have helped me in finding materials for fixing my toilet, interior paint for our home office, random hardware, spackling, sanding and drywall tools. They really do have a little of everything here. The store has a good layout and its easy to navigate each department. I especially like that the shelves are not too high for me to reach. Being 5' 2", this is sometimes a challenge. The customer service is great. Sales associate Daniel (who I have had the most interactions with) is friendly, knowledgeable and is always able to answer my toughest questions. This store also serves free popcorn, and who doesn't like that! *Ace also deserves an honorable mention for their help with the local cat rescue organization. Be sure to check out the enclosure at the front of the store. They rotate kitties through in hopes of drumming up interest for adoption. ********************************************* If you like this review, please give it a thumbs up and follow me for more epic reviews. Once again this Ace Hardware failed to help and treat customers with respect. I reviewed this store…read moreover one year ago and it's still the same crappy store with crappy unhappy and mean staff. Nobody seems happy to be there and it's a hassle for them to assist you. At all cost, stay away from this store and travel to Lynden or even Bellingham Ace Hardware. You will be much happier. Sorry Ferndale Ace Hardware, your store just sucks.

Confession: I don't brew my own beer. I prefer to drink my beer the old fashioned way, by heading…read moredown to the brewery and ordering a pint! However, a certain-special-someone in my life recently took on this fascinating hobby and I, being the loyal-and-devoted-spouse, took it upon myself to visit North Corner with him on a recent supply trip. (Okay, that's a lie. He "just happened" to stop by there while we were running errands and I had two choices: either wait in the freezing cold car or go in with him. So I went in. THIS, as Ma Ingalls would say, is marriage.) But I digress. North Corner is a really cool place! Just spending some time in there made me think, hmmm, maybe I *could* possibly considering giving some thought to someday pondering brewing my own beer. They have everything you could possibly need to do this (and a lot of things you probably don't need but would love to buy anyway - just like any good hobby store). From recipes posted on the wall to bottling equipment, you could walk in here with nothing and walk out with enough stuff to start your own brewery (well, in your garage at least). The guy at the counter is also super-helpful - always a bonus when you're in new territory. If I post a pic of my super-awesome-amazing homemade brew in a few weeks you know it worked!

I'm fairly new to wine making but I'm the type who does a lot of research before jumping into…read moresomething new. Last fall I went around to at least 6 wine supply stores in Skagit and Whatcom and settled on getting all my supplies from here. The reasons are simple: The owner was the most helpful and didn't try to sell me the high-end stuff, the mark-up was less than all the other shops, the big equipment you need is free to use when you buy your grapes through them and prices quoted for grapes were very competitive. I ended up buying 3 wine kits through them because we were too late in the fall to get grapes but so far so good. I'm completely satisfied with the wine we produced which worked out to $2.55 to $4.33 a bottle. The price of the kits was significantly less than the exact same kits at other shops and the wines produced compare to $9 to $24 a bottle retail. Next fall we are looking forward to making wine from grapes. In the meantime I think I'll try making a couple batches of beer!

I recently shopped all of Bellingham for the materials to build my new deck, and happily purchased from Builders Alliance. Their staff is very knowledgeable, extremely helpful, and can walk you through any building project that you can conceive of. And their lumber yard is the most well-stocked in the entire city. Do yourself a favor, skip the box stores and head here next time you have a home project to tackle - I'm glad I did. PS Once or twice a year they hold a decking expo, where reps from all of the decking suppliers do on-site demonstrations coupled with the lowest prices of the year. Noticed a few with damage from strapping. Once I opened the load, 10 of 38 boards had serious scratches, some had imbedded rocks, 3 of 4 fascia not usable..at $100 plus each, handling in the supply chain and shipping leaves a lot to be desired. Sales guy got Timbertech to cover and replace. After nearing completion, needed 4 more boards to finish, specifically asked for new product. 3 of 4 came scratched...again, also realized I had been sold a supersize box of hidden fasteners for 500 sq ft...my deck is 250....so half left. $480 a box..vs. $299 for 1/2 box....so out another $180...yeah, sorry about that man....not going to talk about the inconsistencies in color, thickness, quality of the framing wood....
