We didn't even see this store. We sailed into Watmough Bay with our inverter broken. We needed to…read morecharge our computers to keep up to date on the hurricane in Florida (we have many friends and property there) and had no 110v power. On the off chance, we rang the local hardware store. Coming off a sailing boat we had no means to get to the store as there are no taxis on the island. Bill answered the phone, checked his stock, found an inverter and promised to deliver it to us after hours. Watmough bay is remote. Bill went above and beyond to make this delivery and along the way, made our day immeasurably better. On top of all that he seems like a really nice bloke. At the time, they had 12-13 display models to look at and get ideas on available styles and options. I had recently started looking for a new shed to replace one on our property that was falling apart and was impressed with the quality of the materials used as well as the overall build quality. Compared to other shed brands/dealers in the area that I looked at, North Sound seemed to have the best value for the price. Lee, the sales manager, was very helpful getting answers to questions that I had that were not clearly answered on the Old Hickory Sheds website. When i was ready to make a purchase, Lee gave me the option to work through a design with him or to use the website's shed design tool to configure the shed exactly as I wanted. I opted for the design tool on the website. It was super easy to add/remove options and change layouts to get exactly what I wanted. As an added bonus, I was able to provide the Sherwin Williams paint color codes that was used for our house and have the shed delivered as a perfect match. The small fee for the custom colors far outweighed the hassle of painting it myself after delivery or picking a standard color that wouldn't quite match. Once I got the design finalized, the design tool sent the design to Lee so that he could put together the official order. After placing my order, it took about 2 weeks to receive notification the the shed was built ready for delivery. Once I was contacted, they scheduled my delivery for the following week. The delivery driver was great and placed the shed exactly where I wanted it using a remotely controlled "shed mule". Its a pretty impressive little machine (check out YouTube videos). Overall, I am extremely happy with the purchase and the whole process. I have 2 other sheds on our property that were built by someone that lacked the skills to build them so, I will definitely be going back to North Sound Sheds when I am ready to replace them.
