Buy local. We work at doing that…read more The salesman we dealt with at Dewaard and Bode's outlet store was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. Their selection is very good, the price matched other sellers in the area, their delivery of the new item and removal of the old one was perfect. The salesman explained the workings of two LG and one Speed Queen clothes washers to me. I liked the larger 5.0 cf LG model partially because of the added feature of an internal fan that he gave me instructions on. I liked that this internal fan helped dry out the drum and door gasket. That is a real plus, in my opinion, on a front load washer. He also detailed delivery, setting up the machine and taking our old machine away. I left to get my wife and brought her back a few hours later. I had the same salesman give her details on three machines I thought would fit our needs. When he came to the model with the fan, I asked him to explain the feature. He showed her, as he did with me earlier, how to leave the door open open in the right way to engage the fan after the washing was done. He also told her about the other two machines that seemed to fit our needs. My wife and I then went to lunch, talked over the three machines and decided to buy the higher priced LG with the fan. We also decided on a pedestal for the machine to sit on so we didn't have to bend over so far to get the clothes out. The pedestal was on sale and that helped us make our decision. We returned to the store and began the purchase. As the salesman wrote up the order he charged us $8 (I know, a small amount) over the delivery/set-up, and take away price he quoted earlier. When I pointed that out he apologized and said he'd adjust that. Then he continued with the sales process. He printed out a detailed receipt and I noticed he had charged us about $35 more for the pedestal than the listed sales price. He apologized again and again adjusted the price. We left the store looking forward to our new washing machine. The delivery guys did a great job in a timely fashion. The main delivery guy showed us the fundamentals of the machine. I asked him about the fan feature. He did not know about it. That is understandable since he is not a sales or repair person. I looked in the manual for the details of the fan. There is nothing in the manual about it. I called the salesman back. It took a time or two to get ahold of him. I told him details about the fan were not in the manual. He told me he would look into it. Ultimately, he could not find any information on it in the manual. He then said he would contact their technical department to find out about it and would call me back. He did not call back that day so I called him the next day. He apologized for being too busy to call me back before closing but told me that the tech department told him eh same procedure for engaging the fan on the LG washer. After that conversation I still was not totally satisfied with the details so I went to another dealer in town that sells the same LG machine. The salesman there saiid there are no such fans in LG washers. There are in Maytag machines, he said, but not LG. I thanked him and went home and called the LG customer service phone number listed n the manual. After being transferred to three different departments, I got someone who also told me there is not such fan in any of the LG washers. Soooooo-I called Dewaard and Bode back and talked to two different salesmen other than the one who had sold us the machine. The first said he knew that LG does not have fans in their washers but agreed that I might want to talk with the first salesman's supervisor. I called the supervisor and he said he would look into the situation and got off the phone to do that. He later called back and gave me other details of the machine and how it deals with keeping the machine as dry as possible after a wash. None of the details include the fan which the machine doesn't have. Anyway, we are using the machine which seems to be working fine. But we have to make sure we leave the door open and wipe the gasket and door with a cloth after each wash. Shop local but confirm all information the salesman tells you before buying.

Experience dictates their inventory system isn't always correct due to all you guys who stick stuff in your pocket with out paying. So, i called to confirm. After wandering through a series of prompts i got a real person - woo hoo !! After done back and forth we convinced each other they computers told us the same thing. But, now being a nonbeliever (from other store which said had 2, but when pappa hubbard went to the cupboard - it was bare). So customer service (young) woman tried several times to connect with the right department (no one answered), she went and pulled the item. It was waiting for me at the service desk. Perhaps a 4 star experience- but after the burlington experience - it felt 5 stars.

I have raved about these folks before and at the risk of becoming known as a "groupie", I need to…read moregive them more kudos. I called them regarding our very old but wonderful refrigerator, knowing it might be time for "last rites". Mike was able to fix the immediate problem temporarily. Our model has been discontinued for some time however, he was able to find replacement parts and will remain vigilant for parts we may need down the road. Our other appliances they have worked on in times past are still going strong and you can't beat that for value. On top of all of that they are terrific people. Use them - you won't regret it.

In terms of response time, knowledge, and practical advice, I do believe Appliance Service…read moreSolutions is a knowledgeable and reputable company. The technician was professional, clearly experienced, and identified a legitimate issue with my refrigerator that I was not previously aware of. That said, I will not be moving forward with additional services because of my experience with pricing transparency. I originally scheduled service for a dishwasher diagnostic. Over the phone, I was quoted approximately $150-$165 for the dishwasher diagnostic, not including any additional parts or labor if repairs were needed. While the dishwasher diagnostic cycle was running, the technician began discussing Samsung appliances with me and mentioned that my refrigerator model may have a common issue. He asked if I minded him taking a quick look at it while he was waiting on the dishwasher cycle. My understanding from the conversation was that this was a quick courtesy look while time was already passing during the dishwasher diagnostic. I agreed. He briefly inspected the refrigerator, pointed out ice buildup, checked the temperature, and explained the likely issue and what the repair would cost. I appreciated the information, and I do believe he correctly identified a problem that may need attention. The issue came at the end of the visit when my final bill was just over $250. When I asked about the difference from the original dishwasher diagnostic quote, I was told the additional amount was because he looked at the refrigerator. My concern is not that the refrigerator inspection had value. It did. My concern is that I was not clearly told beforehand that looking at the refrigerator would be an additional diagnostic charge. Had I been told, "I can take a look at the refrigerator too, but it will be an additional charge," I likely would have approved it. The problem is that the way it was presented -- as something being done quickly while waiting on the dishwasher cycle -- made it feel like a courtesy or part of the same visit. Overall, I think this company knows appliances and appears capable. However, based on my experience, I would recommend confirming all charges in writing before agreeing to have them look at anything beyond the original appliance you scheduled service for. Clearer upfront communication about additional diagnostic fees would have made this a much better experience. For anyone wondering why I chose two stars: Yelp labels two stars as "could've been better," and that accurately reflects my opinion of this experience. The technician seemed knowledgeable, and I do think the company is capable, but the pricing communication could have been much clearer. That is ultimately why I feel two stars is warranted.

It had a dent in the side as well, but nothing terrible. I get it, there should be NO dents and scratches, but after loading the 120 pound thing home and unboxing it, I had to ask myself, "how badly do I want to take this whole thing back for a small dent?" So I opted to just go in and pick up matching screws and bolts. Contacted the very unkempt young man at customer service, who told me there was nothing they could do for me and suggested I call Craftsman to have them send me the missing screws and nuts. GREAT customer service there buddy! I suggested MAYBE he help me find replacement parts because I hoped that a place like Lowe's would carry something like screws and nuts. He told me I could try looking in the aisle with screws. I commented that it might be hard to find them and he said he would call someone over. I went and began perusing the screw aisle just across the row from customer service and easily in view of the customer service counter. No one came and I had not found the replacements for over 10 minutes. Not one person had approached the customer service counter while I waited, yet the rep made only the initial call! I finally decided just to walk out, when I walked past a Craftsman tool display. There was an employee working with some of the tools, so I asked her for help. Stephanie was super kind and helped me find the screws and nuts in a few minutes and gave me suggestions for dealing with the dent. Super kind and super helpful. Stephanie is a superstar and the only reason I'm giving 4 stars!
