I really want to like this store, but overpriced - especially on furniture. $30-50 for simple dining chairs that need a serious face lift?! Not to mention several of the employees I was with were not very kind to me right at opening. When asking for adjustments/ reasoning on pricing they totally blew me off (even though I was trying not to come off as pushy). I really try to be kind when I ask about that kind of thing. I know what reasonable prices are, if you go to my page - I regularly go around town and check out local thrift stores. The re-store is a must visit place for most any homeowner. Over the years I've found so many building materials, paint, fasteners, electrical fixtures, Plumbing fixtures, wood trim, windows, Doors, OMG the door section there's so many doors to choose from. Interior doors, entry doors, solid doors, bi-fold doors, windowed doors and most any other door you could imagine. I even got metal doors for exterior entries. They do a great service so these materials and fixtures and even paint don't end up at the landfill, as they are reusable then functionable items. There is nothing about the are RE Store that I don't like. Inside, you start with tools galore for yard sale prices. Cabinets, screws, bolts, new, antique, paint, flooring, lighting for any style. You can spend a day inside if you want, or outside, or in the other buildings across the alley. Bricks, wood, granite, marble, lawn tools or ornament. You just have to look. If you don't see it one day, come back in a week and it will probably be there. Seriously, low prices. check this place out. I cannot say enough good things. read more

Twice I've stopped at this place to donate both used and new materials and garden equipment. Both times I was told they had too much of the same stuff or that as happened yesterday, the season was over (new garden hoses). Today I stopped by to look at doors and and a woman drove up and dropped off 2 used garden hoses. Did I mention that she was very good looking and I'm a guy in his 50's? This used to be a great store to come find great buys when we ere building a cabin and needed plumbing and electrical. Not so much anymore, just tried to donate 3 bathroom faucets in good shape that are MOEN guaranteed for life for the entire unit and or parts and there were no visible defects and the girl said "no these are too old" Too old? I always have good intentions when I walk into this place. What's not to like about a store where they re-purpose junk from other peoples' homes/buildings/apartments so you can use your imagination to give it a new life in your own home/building/apartment? Their prices are decent, and the staff is friendly (if not plentiful). If you're shopping for a specific project, though, be sure to come with your ideas and room measurements in hand or you could become overwhelmed and leave empty-handed. Not that I've ever, EVER done this, mind you! Oh and check out their newer area featuring beautiful furniture hand-built from genuine Re-Store items. I enjoy walking through every few weeks to see if there's anything interesting that I should add to my collection of random home items. This is a great place to donate your unwanted home items. This was a nice store to visit to buy cheap antiques, and furniture. Mostly very good prices and there was a lot of beautiful furniture! Everything from lamps, chandeleirs, dining tables, vanities, antique doors and antique hardware. I would give it a five star if the furniture were put into a more attractive display, it was a bit of a hunt to find the good stuff, but can also be fun (for antique hunters) I will definetly return when I need like a beautiful antique dining table (70$) or a nice chandeler (25$) read more

I bought an expensive table, but I thought it was worth it because it was a nice table. On the way out I was struggling a lot to carry it and ended up dropping it in the parking lot and totally scratching it. Now I've paid all this money for this totally destroyed table. AFTER this happened someone who works there comes up and told me that they COULD have helped me carry it out. WTF? I'm struggling to carry this thing and nobody tells me that it's possible to get help carry it out until after I've already destroyed the thing I spent so much money on. There are other things there that I would have bought if I had known I didn't have to to carry them myself. Why don't they have a sign or something. So stupid! read more

I was required to help out here for 2 days. (little "court" issue) I went into the store the first time and checked in with who I would be reporting to and got to work. Wow. What an eclectic collection of goods. It was hard to be bored wandering around finding new eccentricities every turn. The merch is dusty, and you will often run into someone doing community service with a sour expression, but overall on a rainy day this place is a great stop to kill some boredom. read more

Hmmm, you know what would look awesome in this room? Some louvered doors hinged together to make a screen. Where should I go to find said louvered doors? The re-store. They are affordable, have tons of cool reclaimed antique moldings not to mention furniture and fixtures. The girls their are very sweet and they boys will help you get whatever it is you need to your car. Its a total cluster fuck though so be prepared to wander around for quite a while trying to find what you need. I Love Love Love this store! My husband and I don't often have lots of money to throw at new furniture, but I was blessed to marry a handyman. We can spend hours in here unearthing treasures. Not much is ready to go as is is, so if you are looking for something you can purchase and immediately use you probably won't like/enjoy store. If however you have an adventurous streak when it comes to home improvement, welcome to your mecca! We buy everything from lamp shades, and drawer pulls, to dressers and shelving units. We then get the opportunity to put our own unique flair on the items. When you walk in the door you can't help but smell the possibilities (it always smells like lumber and grease to me). The stock changes frequently so there is always something new to discover. This is our first stop when we have a project that we are undertaking becuase the prices are so reasonable. read more

I asked why a 11"x 3' piece of wood that's poorly painted was $25. Because it's old growth. Wow. You get wood donated for free and charge WAY TO MUCH. And the guy in the tie die hoody was more than rude. I'm never going to donate to them ever again. I'd rather throw stuff away then give to this business. This place started out with a good concept but over time has deteriorated into a high priced rip off business. Today I brought in five modern style doors in perfect shape. When I asked if I could get a little store credit for my donation, the kid that unloaded them tried to give me some bs line they they were water damaged and he couldn't. Water damaged interior doors? Though I tried to point out it was only a place that was unpainted the kid refused to give me anything. He finally said, " well I guess since I already agreed to take them I could give you $3 for all of them. What a F#%#ing insult! I told him he could keep his $3. They need to hire someone that knows what they're doing and is good at customer service. If you are a pretty handy DIY`er and are interested in reclaimed materials, this should be your first stop when starting a project. I have created a sliding barn door, resurfaced a stand-alone gas stove mantle, created a rain barrel, built multiple raised beds, all from reclaimed materials from The RE Store and for far cheaper than buying from the big box stores. Sure, you may not find every little part you need, but it does help lessen the cost of a project. If you aren`t the best with a tool in your hand, but still want unique furniture, they have also been building items in-house and selling them at the store or the farmers` market! Everything from tables and chairs to cornhole game sets, all from reclaimed materials. When all else fails, just walk through the store for house project inspiration. read more

I am so in love! What a great place to get anything for your home or crazy mixed media art project. I love that is is non- profit and saving some of these wonderful treasures from the landfill. I am itching to go back next time I am in Bellingham and pick up some sweet wooden chairs that I can paint and trick out for my dining room. They also have beautiful doorknobs and vintage fixtures. It's a crazy conglomeration of things that needs some time and creative energy to wade through but it is well worth it. On a bonus not they even recycle their paper towels in the restroom. The Bellingham RE Store is one of those places that anytime you mention it to anyone, they always say, "I love the RE Store!" This place has provided great supplies for improvements to my home and business. Our entire kitchen remodel came from RE Store: cabinets, flooring, solid maple butcher block, trim, refrigerator. Its the ultimate thrift store for home improvement and they even have picked up and delivered for us. I have heard that they also will strip out or tear down an entire house. Some people get confused thinking that things are overpriced but where else can you find a 1920's solid fir clear grain cabinet? But then you find paint for 3 bucks a gallon or straight lumber for pennies on the dollar and walk out with a truck load of deals. Go there first before buying new stuff. read more

I went in today for the first time. Very cool store. When I asked for help at the front desk regarding a specific item....I was told to wait while the cashier called customer service. I waited 10-15 minutes while the cashier was on his phone. No one came to help and I walked out. I intended to make a purchase and now I won't be back. Poor customer service. I've shopped here from the very beginning. When I moved into my present, pre-statehood home, I came here FIRST. You can find ANYTHING here, from vintage appliances and fixtures, remixed paint, millwork, plumbing, doors, windows, old school desks...unbelievable place. The guy who wears the train engineer outfit all the time can be a little 'hippie holier-than-thou', but I've never had a bad experience here. The prices are outstanding. A great way to kill an afternoon, and a fantastic source for building and restoration materials. Plus they have cool hidden art stuff, like the giant spider in the warehouse, a freakyass baby in a bunny suit being attacked by a giant mosquito-snake thing that watches you as you wander around, and a demonstration sheet for group gymnastics. I must mention, though, that parking SUCKS. Be prepared to jockey around delivery trucks and confused homeowners trying to load refrigerators into their Yugos in the tiny private lot out back, or just skip the whole thing; park on the street and walk. read more
