One note - we booked using a 3rd party and we were roof that because of that we had to pay a $250 fee, which would be refunded the following morning upon our check-out. Given we spent less than that for the room, and time at the pool was limited given we arrived around 3pm, it seemed overkill to charge such a steep fee, refundable or not. Another note- we had proof we'd booked a room with double beds and the staff at Coda said they only had us booked for a king bed, but would upgrade us complimentarily. Overall, I'd recommend booking a room if you want a lot of time at the pool, and if you do like us and book a quick staycation, book mid week directly through Coda to avoid the fee we were charged.

When one person in our group bristled and told the staff the literal definition of a cabana is a *shaded* lounging area, the manager told him "I could do without the attitude." Clearly they were stressed about how few umbrellas they had, but also why did they feel it was okay to sell us such a pricey table without one? The pool was tiny and cramped and full of kids and not as advertised at all. The food is alright-- I actually really enjoyed their tuna crispy rice, kale salad, and margaritas both times I've visited. The whole experience was overpriced and truly we could've done without the attitude from the staff.

We arrived about an hour before check-in, and the front desk was able to accommodate us with an early check-in for a $75 fee, which was well worth it after an early day of traveling. One thing I wasn't aware of before arriving was the $15 daily fee for non-local residents, so keep that in mind if you're planning a longer stay. The hotel is currently being remodeled floor by floor, and we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to one of the newly renovated rooms on the 11th floor. The room was beautiful, but it's located directly below the rooftop bar. If you're staying on a Friday or Saturday night, expect to hear music and activity until around 4 a.m. Thankfully, I'm a heavy sleeper, so it didn't bother me much. The moment I walked into the room, I was completely distracted by the incredible city view. I barely took any photos of the room because I couldn't stop looking out the window! Waking up and winding down with that skyline made the stay even more memorable. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would absolutely book this hotel again. If you're looking for amazing views and a convenient location, this is definitely a great option. Just be mindful of the additional daily fee and request a room away from the rooftop if you're a light sleeper.

Now, this review is especially for Matt, because he truly turned what could have been a disappointing experience around. Matt was the only server, and after we placed our food and drink order from our lounge chairs, he went on break. Unfortunately, while he was gone, no one stepped in to take care of us. No one checked on us, brought out the food we had already ordered, or came over to see if we wanted additional drinks. We waited about 45 minutes with basically no service. Once Matt returned, he immediately apologized for the mix-up and for no one taking care of us while he was away. From that point on, he went above and beyond, especially after learning it was my birthday. He completely turned the experience around and made me feel special. Service like Matt's is what makes hiccups forgivable. No place or person is perfect, and things happen. What matters to me is how those situations are handled. Matt acknowledged what happened and genuinely made an effort to make it right rather than brushing it off. He was pleasant, professional, attentive, fun, and just an ultimate vibe. The next day, I hung out in the tiny lobby waiting to meet up with others attending the wedding, and we sat in a very comfortable couch underneath a huge lovely art piece. We were going to stay over but when I called to get a price on a standard room it was over $500 due to the world cup. Usually, it would have been $200. Talk about price gouging and did not offer any overnight parking so we decide to uber, which worked out great. We arrived a 1/2 hour early and waited in the lobby where there were a bar and a sitting area. Then we were escorted to the roof top via elevators and were given champagne. I always enjoy a glass of champagne. There were wooden folding chairs line up in rows for the wedding ceremony. We sat and waited for the bride and groom; they were a little late but all good. The ceremony was very sweet, we enjoyed it. After that they took all the chairs away and started cocktail hour. We were on the roof top, and it was a raining evening, so the roof was covered. It was very hot up there and I thought we may have moved to another area with air conditioning. But no A/C, just a fan. Not sure why they don't have any A/C up there. We all know sometimes there's bad weather and the roof needs to be closed. Seems as though they had no other accommodations. Cocktail hour was ok. The bartenders worked hard, drinks were really good, I had margarites and my wife had Aperol spritzers. There was not much food for cocktail hour, they had oysters, shrimp and a taco bar. That's all I saw. After that they setup all the tables for dinner on the same very hot humid roof top. Dinner was family style which we did not know. First course was 2 types of salad, dinner was, eggplant, steak and branzino. I tried all 3, my steak was a little tough. Desert was never brough to the table it was on a desert table consisted of just 3 items, churros, wedding cake and 1other which I don't remember. We were never served our food or did any waiter explain to us about the family style or where desert was going to be. I have been at other restaurants where there is family style, and the waiters will serve you. The DJ was very good, and we did dance quite bit. I love to dance so overall I had a great time. For me, drinks, lots of dancing with my wife and extended family is great. For food, I'm easy going and not a big eater. I need to sum this up, overall, I had a great time, due to all who were there celebrating my cousin's daughter's wedding, it could have been anywhere and spending with my wife and family are the best. Drinks were good, food ok, didn't know about desert so I missed out on that. My wife wanted to leave to be sure we got an uber. For a hotel with a roof top venue especially for a wedding, you would think they would have some sort of A/C or other accommodations. The only bummer is that this seems to be a quieter, residential area and mostly everything closes early... we had to get McDonald's dinner one night after sightseeing because nothing was open. I booked this hotel partially because of the onsite bar and restaurant, which is always convenient. However, it isn't mentioned anywhere on their website that the restaurant/bar is closed Mondays, which was the full day we were staying there. So we didn't get to go at all. I feel like the limited operation should be made clearer, as I probably would have found a different hotel. We didn't opt for included breakfast buffet (extra charge) and I was glad I didn't because it looked pretty mid. They have a cute, vintage branded taxi parked outside, but no one mentioned anything to us about a ride service and they don't do airport shuttles. Maybe it's for decoration? Overall, we liked staying here, the beds were comfy and the room was quiet!

Although we booked through Priceline-- nobody from Priceline or the hotel itself- had the courtesy to call and inform guests that their reservation was cancelled. To add insult to injury- the front desk was pretty nonchalant and said call your 3rd party booking. They offered zero help in recommending or assisting stranded travellers in a problem that was is of their own doing. Arlo Hotel a block away had AC but no rooms available. If you're going to be doing business-- be accountable to your guests. If you're going to cancel on them-- call everyone regardless of how they booked and let them know their reservation was cancelled. No one should have endured what we endured on the 4th.

He had guests coming in and out of the room till 6 am and played the music very loudly. The staff did not address the noise levels all night long. Another guest from the upper floor had to bang on their door to get them to stop playing the extremely loud music. It is an open concept lobby and l am sure they heard all the commotion. The hotel staff in charge that evening did not seem to address the commotion. I did not rest all night long. When I complained to front desk in the morning they merely apologized for the disruption and thanked me for bringing it to their attention. They already had records of the incident because it was in their logged computer records from the night staff so thanking me for bringing it to their attention was very lacking in customer service and care. It was not until I mentioned speaking with management that they elevated the issue and extended our stay till 2pm. They were insincere and did not handle the situation adequately. My husband asked the manger to call him and in lieu of a call the manager sent a very generic response which was unsigned. He followed up by asking for a call and their name and has not been respond to. Very unprofessional management. Extremely disappointed.

The location is perfect and very walkable. It's not right near a subway, yet not too far either - which encourages a welcome stroll in the neighborhood. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful - and I have to give a special shout out to housekeeping because the rooms are IMMACULATE. That alone goes a long way for me. I will stay here any chance I get.
