I can't wait to leave this place. I booked this place because It seemed to have normal reviews on Expedia and seemed clean enough in photos but I regretted it from the minute I arrived. This place is unbelievably seedy. I could chalk that up to bad choice on my part and ignore if it wasn't for the fact that our bathroom did not work for the duration of our stay. It's a good thing we spend most of our days outside because we basically stayed in an uninhabitable room. On the second day we asked for repairs and basically they just got it to flush when they came and it still didn't work so we just gave up. It's clear they have severe plumbing issues and are still renting people rooms. This is not a hotel. It's barely a hostel. read more

The worst hotel experience of my life! We arrived at the hotel and the sheets were dirty, full of another person's hair, we found an earing on the floor, the bathroom was also full of hair and so were the towels. We immediately took pictures and went to the reception to complain. They apologised and said they were going to send someone to clean it. We went out for dinner and returned two hours later only to find out that no one had cleaned our room. Went back to reception and there was another person who did not speak English well and did not understand us and used Google translate to communicate with us. He said that it was their mistake but they could not give us another room and could not reimburse us either. He was afraid of getting fired and the only solution after long talks were for us to change the sheets ourselves. This happened after midnight and we were completely exhausted at that point and could no longer stand a crazy guest staying at the ground floor next to the reception who started to blast music, loudly sing and scream at times. Truly unacceptable and disgusting, do not stay at this hotel. Everything made more sense when we realised that they offer hourly rates well, so you can only imagine what happens there and why everything was so unhygienic. read more

Great hotel staff are really helpful .. Rooms are clean the area doesn't have much to do, small lobby

The only nice thing about this hotel is location. I stayed there on April 29. I called early that day to make sure I could drop off my luggage before check in time. They said yes. I arrived and checked my bags with absolutely no security provisions except me taking a picture of my bags. When I arrived, they didn't have a room for me and then a few minutes later, they told me I'd have to take a room on the 7th floor with no elevator because it was broken. I said that would not be acceptable so they made me wait to get a room cleaned on the 2nd floor, which really is the 3rd floor bc they use the 2nd floor for employee use. I finally got into my room after 8pm and it was in awful conditions. Large portions of the bathroom ceiling damaged and I was concerned about bed bugs although I checked and there weren't any, thank god! The worst part of my stay was the morning I left, my luggage got caught on their stairs (which I wouldn't have had to use if their elevator worked) and it tumbled out of my hand and down the stairs and the handle broke a few hours before take off. The owner refused any responsibility so I had to pay for my own luggage replacement. I will never stay here again and will tell everyone I know to not stay here either. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. Dead bugs in the first room we were given, and when they switched us to a new room the walls were dirty and the tv did not work. Later in the night we spotted a handful of bed bugs, a roach, and a few spiders. Totally inhabitable, and don't expect any kind of service or refund. read more

I would highly recommend this hotel. I've stayed at my fair share of hotels in this area and this one seems to be one of the better ones. The rooms are clean, bathroom seems new, and the bed is really comfy. My only negative is that the tv is slightly small for the room but not a big deal. Would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area. read more

Giving this place 4 stars for cleanliness and for the good free breakfast they provide. This place is worth the affordable price. It is always clean, the bed isn't too bad and you get breakfast included. Can't beat that! No, its not that close to the train. It's a 10-15 minute walk to 61st street woodside. But that's an Express stop on the 7 so that's a plus. You're also close to the little Woodside village so food and drinks are close by. Dominos and Dollar Tree are across the blvd and to the right. You can save some dollars buying necessities and food there. Parking is free and in the back of the hotel. You can stay parked if you have a room there. The parking entrance is right next to the hotel. Like right next to it. It looks like a doorway. You'll see it when you pass by. It's like they have their own parking entrance. Now I must admit that there is a language barrier and they can be rude at times. However after staying there for a few days after an emergency issue with my apartment, I realized that they are tough because they don't want to be taken advantage of. We became cool with the front desk lady and figured it out. They take cash but you ALWAYS have to out down a $100 dollar deposit to stay in the room. Here's a tip: if you stayed 1 night and need to stay another, book the room on booking.com, get the affordable price and go downstairs to pay. They will only charge you the $100 deposit 1 time if you book & pay for your room prior to your checkout. You can avoid putting down an extra $100 that way. Also - make sure that when you check out, you ask them for your $100 deposit back. It takes a few days for it to refund to your account. Keep that in mind friends! read more

The Queens Hotel is disgusting - DO NOT MAKE A RESERVATION. I wish I could give them zero stars. I guess I missed the reviews as I attempt to do my research before booking. We arrived on August 25, 2024 to immediately see a dead roach on the wall upon entrance of the hotel room. There were no wash cloths, soap, or shampoo; those items were an inconvenience but not a deal breaker. The ultimate problem which lead to me and my guest decision that night to checkout the next morning, were the disgusting roaches. We booked the hotel for 5 night. No one should be required to sleep/lodge under the condition of pest problem. The ladies next door to us were checking out as well because of the roaches and bed bugs. I requested a refund and the desk clerk provided an email address as the only means of contacting the manager to request a refund. The Queens Hotel is a scam. They offer no refunds regardless of the number of days you book, fully aware of the below standard conditions of the hotel. We left and paid for the remaining 4 days of our stay, in New York, at another great Hotel. The Queen Hotel is disgusting. ---- DO NOT BOOK A STAY!!!! read more

Location location location. This hotel is very well located. There is a bus stop right in the front that takes you to the city in 30-45 minutes depending on the traffic and a Subway station about a 20 minutes walk. It appears that is recently built. All the furniture is new and modern Very good Wi_Fi, heat and hot water. Rooms are clean every day, except if you stay for a week. Beds are big and comfortable. However, there is no refrigerator, some of the staff do not speak English, well this New York "NO HABLO INGLES" is very common and the walls are thin. On a good note price is reasonable. read more

The customer service here is the worst I've ever encountered at a hotel. I'm still traumatized by the experience. I booked a reservation through booking.com and showed my id during check in. The woman with orange hair working at the front desk spoke to me so rudely and it was extremely difficult to communicate with her. She told me my id wasn't valid and it was late at night so I told her I came a long way and didn't have anywhere else to go but then she just shrugged and said "you don't have to wait here (inside the hotel) anymore"...basically telling me to get out and shooed at me. I was very shocked they would treat a potential guest this way when they are paying money to stay. This hotel is such a disgrace. It's not a coincidence all the honest and negative reviews including allegations of racism and unethical business have been hidden in the bottom. It is also in a bad location. Stay far away from this place. read more

i will discourage you guys to stay here, the bathroom was dirty and they're staff are arrogant and no matters specially the 2 front desk Chinese lady!!! she was knocking on my door at the middle of the night , just to correct the payment method. She brought another arrogant Chinese dude to intimidate me and force me to pay right away. They have some pubic hair on the bathroom floor. the bed sheets was never been wash, and the towels are worse than my grandmas rugs read more

The guys at night with glasses on was being so mean to us. Bad customer service ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very bad customer service first of all. Theres bed bugs and they dont let us get the refund. What a bad service!!!!

Place is nice and clean and quiet for the price. Front desk is friendly. Bed is comfy, air control works very well. 1 star off for the breakfast. Someone needs to show the kitchen people how to do hardboiled eggs. Cause the way they do them you cant peel them without taking apart the whole egg. Making them basically useless. Was same thing each morning. So best bet is to find breakfast elsewhere. Theres a dunkin donuts just down the street. read more

Please heed this warning! This staff and its management are extremely uneducated on their current ADA Laws regarding Service Dogs. I called September 17th 2018 at about 9 pm to confirm my reservation and inform the staff that I will be requiring my Medical Alert dog to stay with me during my short-term stay with this hotel company. Sadly after speaking to the front desk clerk about my reservation, she proceeded to tell me that they have a "zero-tolerance pet-policy" which I then immediately corrected her by saying that he was indeed a trained medical alert dog that helps me have a semi-normal life and that I needed him for day to day task. The front desk clerk then told me she would get back to me in regards to my reservation and that she needed to confirm if it was okay to allow my service dog to company me for this stay. Well after a few more calls and hours of waiting for a manager to reach out to me I receive an email from booking.com (where I made the reservation), stating that the hotel has a right to deny a customer service. This was what they quoted me in their email "The hotel called us and stated they are not able to accommodate the animal even it is for service purpose". Aside from receiving a poorly written email from booking.com in regards to them speaking to the property manager - The manager has still not called or reached out to me. At this point, I reach out to booking.com and after speaking to several representatives about MY HUMAN RIGHTS, I was finally told by a supervisor that they will contact the property manager via email explaining that it is against federal law to deny a person with disabilities access to a public establishment. Now, it's September 18th, I follow up with booking.com to see if they were successful in hearing back from the manager. I was told that they couldn't force this facility to abide by the law. I call the hotel and speak to the clerk again around 9:30 am, I ask about the manager and when he should be available, she tells me he would be in at 10 am. I call back at that time she then says "I don't know when my manager will be in". This place is extremely unprofessional and VERY DISCRIMINATORY. After waiting for a few days to speak with the manager of the queens hotel - he informs me that he knows the law well and knows what he's doing (which is illegal). I recently got an email after canceling this reservation that the manager would like to see proof that my dog is a service dog, which is also illegal but he'll see proof now in court. Unfortunately, this issue wasn't able to be resolved with the queens hotel and I will be following litigation for this recent experience. read more

Avoid this hotel! Although everything is new, the staffs are not friendly and unprofessional. They don't know how to communicate with guests in a proper manner when conflict arises. They behave as thugs. The staffs I experienced were the morning/day shift people. Beware!! They will try to look for any reason (like washable stain on a bedsheet) to keep your deposit (pre-paid $50 or more). I don't want to imagine how much they are going to charge if it's more than a stain. This is my first review I have ever written. It's really bad, so I thought I have to share this. Do watch out!! Look for better hotels near around. read more

Do not use the towels in this hotel. If the towel is dirty at the time of check out they will TAKE YOUR $100 DEPOSIT as a cleaning fee. I thought towels were suppose to be used to clean your body and face? read more

PLEASE READ THIS THOROUGHLY! I was staying only one night with my partner she came from virginia, unfortunately every other hotel was booked, We came to a compromise to stay at Queens Hotel, it seemed nice and comfortable, it was conveniently close to the area we wanted to visit in NY.. The moment we checked in, The gentlemen in the front desk was so rude to us. We greeted him, we reserved the room, He was NOT welcoming My partner and i decided to overlook it He probably wasn't having a great day which we know can happen, We dropped our things off inside the room, started getting ready to head out We didn't spend much time in the room till we got back at 4am from a long night of dancing, as a regular couple, you come back drunk and have sexual relations with your partner, Unfortunately i was wearing makeup that night and it went on the sheets to the bed, which you cant really see much of it, the next morning, we are getting ready to leave before 12pm The gentleman tells my partner we CANNOT leave/checkout till they check the room for any "damaged property" We waited about 30minutes before we were unable to leave, This part gets interesting.... He comes in while we are inside the room, looks on the bed and asks what that is, we told him it was makeup, he asked why is it there, why did we dirty the sheets, then takes pictures of the makeup on the sheets, and tells us it will cost us $50 to clean those sheets and if we can't we have to grab the sheets and walk across the street to wash it ourselves, (We assumed they don't wash the sheets in this hotel after every stay) unbelievable, we asked why he was being so rude to us and said exactly this "Shut Up kids" He was Extremely rude, we asked for a supervisor, he was "the supervisor" After telling us a few minutes before he works for front desk only, i felt unwelcome during this stay, My feelings were hurt especially when we are paying to be there My partner and i are a lesbian couple We felt that he was discriminating us the moment he seen us together walking in holding hands, my partner is not from NYC, she is from Virginia, she felt so uncomfortable and thats not what i wanted her to experience in New York We are about equality, we have great jobs my partner works with the government on a military base, I work in Hospital in Brooklyn. We maybe "young" 27 years of age But we didn't deserve this treatment He wasn't apologetic We were offended On top of everything we didn't even complain about there being NO SOAP NO SHAMPOO NO HAND TOWELS ONE TOWEL NO IRON WE HAD TO ASK FOR EVERYTHING Please reconsider this place I'm a Latina female, Citizen of the US This was poor service and they lack of respect, i will never go back nor will i ever recommend anyone to stay here I provided a photograph showing the makeup on the bed. Let's be realistic, you can hardly see it Isn't it sanitary to wash the sheets after every stay? I hope you took that time to read this and think it through, unfortunately we weren't expecting this but we went through it. read more

Amenities are ok but they have to train their staff with regards on how to communicate to their guest and how to react/solve a certain complaint. Like i have a complaint with regards to the leak at the bathroom that coming out on the light on top of the bathtub that most probably coming from the bathroom above. what the front desk did is he ask me to go with him to check the leak. Instead of giving me a room right away and ask for an apology, he want me to go him. I told him that do you think it is my fault? I just checked in and reported it to you right away. There is always room for improvement, not just to the amenities but most especially on how to handle your guest. You guy's might want to go in a customer service training. read more

Best hotel ever!!!! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone whose traveling from another country to NYC. Best customer service!!!

This place was amazing!! honestly would stay here for a whole week if I could, sadly I only stayed one night :( The bathroom was beautiful and the beds were so soft. The room also came with a desk so I can work on my laptop in comfort. 10/10 would stay again read more

Extremely nice, clean and newly renovated rooms. However, the staff members are one big Chinese family who barely speak English and are extremely difficult to communicate with. I asked for a room with a refrigerator, which they surprisingly have very few of. But when I arrived at the room, the air conditioner was not working. They told me they would bring the keys for a new room but it would not have a refrigerator. I explained that I needed a refrigerator as I had just gone out to buy food for the next day, thinking I would have a fridge in my room to store it. She told me they would take my bag of food and store it in their staff fridge for me, which I was a bit hesitant about. Then when I answer my door, the man they sent to bring me the new keys and take my bag of food did not speak a word of English, and when I asked where he was taking my bag and where I could pick it up the next day he kept pointing and gesturing angrily at me. Finally I brought the food downstairs myself, and the girl at the desk assured me I could pick it up in the morning. However, when I went downstairs the next morning to pick it up the guy at the desk once again did not understand any English. He brought me to a closet thinking that was where my items had been stored. It took 5 minutes to explain that my food was in a refrigerator which I didn't know the location of. Overall, this is a very nicely updated and renovated hotel, the room was beautiful but the staff is frustratingly impossible to communicate with. read more
