    a plate of doughnuts

We celebrated our son's graduation here. Everything was good from the food, the ambience to all our servers. The place was awesome too. We loves everything and also their mini donuts was soo yummy too. Lastly, the cost was not bad too. We will definitely be back!

I genuinely loved this place! I'm surprised it only has 2 1/2 stars. The service was great and during happy hour the beer was 3$!!! THREE DOLLARS!! The food was tasty too, although I suppose it's true that it was nothing special - the burger I got did remind me somewhat of a fast food burger instead of a sit down restaurant burger, so I feel like if I came here all of the time I would eventually tire of it. But the arcade section was fun and there is also live music which is great. I would absolutely consider this a fun place to come and hang out and grab some food. Everyone was wearing plaid and cowboy hats which also made it better. Although I suppose that's the thing - it's better as a place to hang out as opposed to strictly a place to get really delicious food.

I was a bit surprised to see the yelp rating for The Henry. Its in a cute area of old downtown Cloverdale. Loved the decor and ambience inside. We had a great server last night! Very attentive! A few of us tried the dine out menu which was a Maple pork belly with spicy mustard, a calamari burger and a smores peanut butter brownie. The pork belly was delicious and had the right amount of sweet. The mustard it came with was not spicy and seemed like good old French's mustard! The calamari burger was different but very tasty. Just the right amount dill and the bun was so soft and fresh. Calamari was crunchy and perfectly cooked. The dessert was ok, not overly sweet but I was not a fan. Brownie too dry so perhaps overcooked? Either way I enjoyed my visit and will come back for happy hour!

The Hank's (a.k.a. The Henry) long bar with great beers in Cloverdale.

In Cloverdale near the Surrey Museum which is a great visit, is The Hank an honest and unpretentious pub. There are more varieties of beer than you can shake a stick at. We went for brunch: poached eggs on a mound of corn beef hash with salsa on the side for me. Chicken quesadillas for her. Both were delicious, served wit a smile and with a brewski came up to $40 tax and tip included.

When it comes to Saturday breaky, I admit, I am about as hard to please as the monarchy. I may smile and say I enjoyed it, but I know inside that I have had better. Well, I can tell you for a fact, this is the best $4.00 or for that matter better than any $15.00 breakfast I have "ever" had!!!!! The chef totally nailed it! The eggs were nice large omega 3 with beautiful dark yellow yolks and were cooked perfect - sunny side up (not easy to do) and still hot when they came to the table, the spicey spuds are a work of art and the sausages I had were perfect. Even the portions ans presentation are better than anywhere I have been, and trust me, I get around.. This place is a total gem for breakfast... I wish I could give it 2 more stars. I am holding up a score card with 10.0 on it. \0/ \0/ \0/ \0/ \0/ \0/ \0/ \0/ Yay!

Been here twice, usually hang out in Vancouver, but when you feel like staying local, you wanna go somewhere nearby... You try to find something close. Well let me tell you, the henry is something else, the doormen were so racist its not even funny! There was a separate line-up for white people and a separate line-up for the brown folk. I've never felt racism and discrimination to this degree in my entire life. They were waiting until the brown people left the line/up, and we were at the front of the line for approximately 50 minutes, that's 10 minutes short of an hour, until they let a few people in, and of course they were of caucasian descent. If you actually read this, take it as a warning Cloverdale wants to stay a white dominated area, so if you're not white by birth, it's in your best interest to stay away.

We got a reservation a day before and there were plenty of spots available. They had a big drinks menu and quiet a few food options as well. Best part was that they had lots of veggie options! Here's what we got: Drinks - :: Zero-proof pineapple fizz - it def looked as good as it tasted. Very refreshing and fruity! Really enjoyed it. :: Guava aperol margarita - delicious! I could taste the guava and the spice on the rim of the glass was perfectly paired with the drink Food - :: Parmesan plenta fries - was so excited to try it, I wasn't sure what to expect. The presentation was amazing, just wish they were a big more crispy but the dipping sauce it came with was really good :: Burrata Bucatini - calabrian chili vodka cream sauce, pancetta, burrata, ricotta, thai basil, grano padano 3/5 :: Brick half chicken - pretty good! I would give it a 4/5 it was really creamy and the chicken was cooked well but I don't think it was seasoned that well. I would say for the portion size and the food, it was a bit overpriced but definitely 5/5 for the ambiance!

It's a stunning space, maybe the best in Langley that we have seen. The entrance is physical, with a wallpaper you'll never see, the shell shape is a statement. The hallway to the washrooms requires some attention with the light and to the reality of the place. The service was top notch, with the two staff members taking care of all of the tables with a well choreographed movement of product. The food, we wish, had reached the level of the service. The best item that we had was the Polenta fries with real Parmigiana Reggiano and a spicy Calabrian chili mayo and chive ash was in our mind fantastic! We'd come back for that alone. My Falafel pull apart sandwich had good flavour, but the corkscrew fried pickle was underwhelming and greasy. I don't know how they made the fries so dry, but they weren't good. The lovely K had the Spicy Peanut noodle bowl, which needed far more peanut flavour, more acid and maybe a little heat. The menu is quite eclectic, but might be a little too much so for some diners. That said the Polenta fries will bring us back, and we'll be trying to copy them at home.

We found out half the restaurant was sectioned off to host a 50+ person company holiday party, and staff were dealing with the remnants of the local parade that had just concluded. One waitress was dealing with the party, while two other ladies were dashing around trying to handle the rest of the restaurant. The kitchen was backed up because of the party and the parade goers so it ended up being close to a 45 minute wait for our food (the waitress repeatedly apologized for the wait). Gave me plenty of time to watch the football game on the many TVs, and admire the decor. Clean, medium to dark wood, leaning towards minimal decor. It was certainly the type of place backed up the name: clean neighbourhood pub and even kids were welcome inside. Food finally arrived! Husband had the Black & Blue burger. From my vantage point, it looked pretty good with french fries deep fried to a nice light golden hue. It looked smaller compared to my monstrosity Turkey & Brie, and he wished there was a stronger blue cheese taste. I was pleased with the size of the Turkey & Brie sandwich, it was HUGE as far as sandwiches go. A pile of Turkey meat, thick slices of Brie (which I barely tasted, but I attribute that to Brie having a naturally subtle taste) and a nice balance of cranberry sauce and mayo in the sandwich. Points there. I was a little less impressed with the fries, it was darker and crispier. The kitchen staff were probably rushing around trying to fill the orders; I imagined my fries sat in the fryer for a little too long. Given how busy it was that night, I could understand. My husband and I also had to try the mini donuts. They came out sprinkled a heavy dose of cinnamon and chocolate dipping sauce on the side. However the donuts didn't satisfy the feelings of nostalgia... after our first donut, we realized they were like my fries; tasted a bit burnt underneath all of the cinnamon sprinkle. The waitress kept apologizing for the long wait for our food, and ended up making the donuts complimentary, and hoped we would give their place another chance. I think I may pass on the mini donuts on future visits, but in all honest I don't see why I wouldn't try their place again.

World Cup Season + Delicious Bites...this is elite match-day energy! The vibe alone of this place makes me want to go back. When it comes to watching a game, it doesn't get much better than Night Owl! I have a lot of confidence this place will keep impressing people. They serve what I call proper tv comfort food! Night Owl Langley brought the World Cup energy to life with multiple tv's, an electric game day atmosphere, & delicious bites, and drinks! It's the ultimate game-day hangout without heading into the core. One thing I appreciated most was that while the food was elevated and inventive, it never felt like it was trying too hard. It was simply delicious. That's a harder balance to strike than many restaurants realize. We were able to catch every moment on giant screens while enjoying great food and an unbeatable game day atmosphere! The energy was absolutely unmatched. And the food hits just as hard, let's get into their Happy Hour! First up, I tried their Street Pan Nachos & the start itself was a win! It was during happy hour so there are some cheaper options. I decided to get 1 corn dog ($4), and the pretzel ($6). When they server came with the food she was like "they accidentally made you 3 corn dog". well hey i'm not complaining! The pretzel arrived and looked ROUGH. i could tell it was going to be awful, i had a few bites and was not having it, it was dry, no salt or seasoning and the dip only worked for the corn dogs. I really enjoyed the corn dogs, they were fresh and tasty! I ended up letting the server know i was not happy with the pretzel and that it was dry and very bland.
