Bit nostalgia, bit imaginary, and a bit hallucination. The Regal Beagle, there is a pop culture reference to this place, to me and a certain generation of others. I was hoping to see some of my other friends come by, namely Jack, Chrissy, Janet, and possibly Stanley, Helen and Larry. They weren't here. I could only imagine they came. This place is a pub/sports bar. Nothing fancy nor upscale. It serves a purpose, and there's nothing wrong with that. Brunch on weekends. Bacon and eggs (any style) with multi grain toast and deep fried potatoes as hashbrowns. $15. The area is up for redevelopment, and it will only be a matter of time before this place and other businesses are razed. Come before that happens. read more

Regal Beagle - $15 - Pubs Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

I came in to watch March Madness with a friend at around noon on a weekend. The staff member seems very familiar with the schedule and channels. There weren't many people in the restaurant when I came in. The dry ribs that I got were pretty decent but the portion is small. One qualm that I had was with the server that helped my table. She wasn't mean but she certainly wasn't nice and my friend thought the same. It's a fine place but the next time I want to watch a game, I couldn't come here again. read more

Great wings and service. Good place a pint and discussion or to watch sports. Outdoor seating in summer.

First bad review unfortunately. The Beef Dip. It was like eating a sandwich made with two sponges. Sloppy/ greasy and inedible. A sandwich that leaks it's filling out onto the plate when picked up is not kosher in my book..To bad...won't be ordering that again..nope. read more

Quick review: Nice spot for Philadelphia Eagles fans but otherwise, meh. Joined friends here for the Cowboys versus Eagles. As a Cowboys fan, it is slightly unnerving to walk into a den of Eagles fans, but these folks were relatively polite and not threatening; this is Canada, not Philadelphia. LOL Ordered the chicken tenders and fries. They were... okay. Nothing special -- portion was average; taste was... fried. At least it wasn't especially oily. But for $16, it was not a great value. We found free parking in the neighborhood, though there is pay parking at meters on Broadway. The service was friendly enough, if not super attentive. Bottom line: What I was really buying was time with friends at a football game. With that as the goal, this place worked out fine. I doubt I would ever come here at any other time. read more

I would go but they have a policy to only accept reservations with management approval. Very pompous for an average " Leaf" bar. Don't waste your time. read more

There's nothing wrong with The Regal Beagle: It's a pub and that's what you get! The draft beers were just fine! The spicy wings are outstanding! And the television sets have all the sports your mama will allow! Service was attentive and friendly. read more

I have eaten here many times. There's not much to say. It's a pub with pub food. Burgers and so on. They have TVs showing sports. They allow dogs on the patio. read more

Excellent smash burger! Awesome wings! Clarke the bartender is professional and knowledgeable. Just don't go on a Maple Leafs game day. You will be asked to move if your seat has been previously reserved. Even if the hockey game doesn't start for an hour.No exceptions. This is a Toronto bar. For better or worse. read more

Like many said, this is simply a neighborhood pub and that indeed is exactly what it is. Not a nightclub, fancy restaurant or clique establishment. Rather, just a homey place for locals to get a cold drink and some grub. We had the Smash Burgers and they were perfect. Well cooked, good size and thankfully a good portion of "REAL" fries not the frozen ones. The inside decor is.... well homey. Everything looks like it's been there for a long time and just seems like your typical dark pub decor. The Service was O.K. not super fast but attentive and friendly. The only comment or recommendation I would make is to fix the wobbly tall tables as we sat at two of them on the east side with our full drinks sloshing around and over the top when we leaned on the tables, which is annoying and please wipe the top of your tables CLEAN as both those tables and the large pic-nic table we initially tried to sit at out back were sticky and full of drink rings. On the whole I would certainly recommend this pub to anyone with modest expectations as it's certainly an acceptable place to grab a Burger & Beer! read more

This is a neighborhood pub, it's not fancy, but what's important is the people that work here and the customers that keep coming back! The bartenders and servers are fantastic! I have read reviews of poor customer service, and honestly, like most pubs and restaurants... people come and then they get fired! The peeps I know have been here for sometime and they are gold. Clark, Kate, Jason and Carla..... I get hugs from these wonderful people and my drinks are always full! They make the effort to learn your name and if you think they don't know you, you are wrong, they do! (if you keep coming back that is!) There are definitely no watered down drinks here! Drinks specials are great and varied! Double highballs for $6.75 tonight! Shots of Tequila for for $4, tacos for $3!!!! There are specials everyday!!! Wine selection is small and could use improvement. If you like red, order the The Show. It's about the best u will get here unfortunately. I like the vibe and the decor. It's laid back and comfortable. Not dingy. Dimly lite. Great music (big on classic rock!). There is a patio with a West Broadway view :) great for smokers right on the side walk. That's hilarious because I am a respiratory therapist and yet 1/2 my friends smoke. I also like this place because I am a local here and I like to know the people I drink with, even if I don't know them that well. Lots of familiar faces because they live here too!! I have celebrated New Years here, St. Patrick's day, friends' birthdays, Halloween.... Like I said... It's not fancy, it's not a club, it's a down to earth, chill neighborhood pub l, and yet, it's not a dive bar, but you can get some great deals!! I have seen some great celebrations here and I will keep coming back. Food wise... They make great Poutine and you can ask for the junior size if your a lady!! Very tasty and u can add chorizo, egg or bacon!!! They also make great pizza. It's new pizza. I really enjoyed the chicken pesto!! You know how you know you are at a really great neighborhood pub??? After you spend an hour being "served" by these wonderful people... They get off shift and stay to have a bevi! read more

The Regal Beagle may be good for a drink or two and not much else. One night when we launched an unofficial pub crawl from Granville to Alma along Broadway, the Beagle was one of our half-dozen stops. The bouncer had needless attitude, especially since his bar was only kinda full of less-than-rowdy patrons. The dingy atmosphere is aimed at classic rock enthusiasts. It morphs into a sports bar on game nights and good-sized seating areas will be packed when it does. read more

Veggie to vegan options at night are pretty abysmal but the weird veggie burger thing on the menu is pretty terrible. Drink specials are alright. The draft beer selection is made for the uneducated beer drinker. Veggie to vegan brunch is much better. They have black beans you can sub for eggs and tomato/avocado you can sub for meat. I was looked at like I was an alien and was charged for the avocado but still, it was tasty. 20/30 read more

Still loving this place. Last time I was there they gave me a free pair of shorts! (didn't fit ... whatevs .. see photo ... nuts cruncher) But this place is just the best. Great regulars and a fantastic staff. Great NFL and always watching the Philadelphia Eagles football games here in Kitsilano Vancouver; probably every game for the rest of my life! I have made so many great friends here. If I ever left Vancouver this would be the place that I miss the most. Way better than Stanley Park, Last Week, Whistler and/or the Ivanho (close second)! Sometimes they have cheesesteaks, some times they have chicken & ribs and then sometimes you never know. All of those things are my favorites! #Philadelphia #Eagles #NFL read more

Chicken Strips are the unsung hero of pub food. I needed a quick bite before a meeting so I popped into this pub on Broadway. The music was rad and the servers were really kind ( but like genuine kind, not fake smiles to get a good tip kind) and I ordered the item on the menu I figured could be made the fastest. Chicken strips and fries ( no I am not 12 but every now and then I get a craving ok). This chicken was the most delish I am ever had and truthfully I feel like at this point in my life I could be a CS&F connoisseur. These golden strips of magic were crispy with a delightful breading and the chicken inside was juicy AF. There is no way these bad boys came frozen from a food wholesaler. Yum. read more

Ok, after reading all the reviews, I'm confused, so I feel I need to correct a few things here! First of all, this is a neighbourhood pub, and you should expect to enjoy all the charm that goes along with that. It's not so much the place is "full of servers' friends", as there are a lot of regulars who enjoy the place. The Beagle is also constantly supporting sports teams, charities and other worthwile community events. Busy for weekend breakfast? You bet! Try charging less than McDonalds for a full breakfast and a deal on Caesar's and see how busy any place gets. Loud and busy for a hockey game? Absolutely - fill the place with tvs and people drinking and such, and what else would you expect?! As for the food, it's a bit hit and miss for me personally, with some menu items tasty, and good value, others I'm not a fan. Onions "snuck in" the potatoes? Hello?! Is there anyone in there - have you never experienced or made home fries that have onions, herbs, peppers etc? Most people consider this a plus. The burgers are solid, fries are good, the salt and pepper wings are also good, and the nachos as well. All standard pub food, and consistently executed. The salsa is fresh made and tastes fantastic. There are beer specials, and food specials, including Wednesday Beer and Burger for $10, 39 cent wings, etc. If you want a soulless experience with no character and factory produced food, go to the Firkin franchises, or Cactus Club. Leaves more room at the Beagle for the rest of us! read more

I have been here many times and each time I was sure I wouldn't be back. Beer on the patio during the summer is pretty good but their food is always a huge let down. Their mixed drinks have been downright disgusting and I have sent more than one drink back, and I'm usually never upset with anything that has booze in it. read more

We stopped by for brunch, being starving and intrigued by their $3.99 breakfast. I was surprised by the inside of the bar, I expected it to me much more of a dive. It was actually pretty nice. We got seated at a small two-top and handed menus right away. We both ordered coffee, which was surprisingly strong -- my boyfriend couldn't really drink his, as he's not much of a coffee drinker anyway. Everything on the menu beyond the breakfast special was a significant price increase, so we stuck to our guns with the $3.99 breakfast. Food was decent. Some random onions snuck their way onto our plates hidden in our potatoes, which was a bit weird. My poached eggs were just about perfectly done. As we got the bill, we noticed a sign on the wall advertising the $3.99 breakfast with free coffee -- we did not get this. Apparently you need to ask your server about it. Kind of annoying. I probably wouldn't come back for brunch, but I'd definitely come back for drinks. read more

I'm a pretty laid back person, but this place left me feeling ripped off. I ordered a coffee and the lamb burger. Service was exceedingly slow, despite it not being busy. The burger itself was warmish when I got it, was dry, pretty flavourless, had no sauce, and by the time the waitress had come back, and I could ask her for some mayo, it was cold. Naturally by this point my friends had all finished their meals - one of whom was brought a coffee he didn't ask for, and then charged for it. For a burger and a coffee my bill came to $19, a dollar more because I asked for half fries half salad - being charged for this is a practice which not only makes you feel like you're being nickel and dimed, but also, for some reason, results in you only receiving a quarter portion of either fries or salad (no joke, there were 18 pretty diminutive fries on my plate) All I can say is if you're just there for a beer, you're fine. If you want a burger, go to A&W, or some other fast food restaurant - it will taste better, be warmer, cost a fraction of what you will pay at The Regal Beagle, and the service will be a lot better. read more

I've been to this bar a few times for drinks and once for brunch. The time I had brunch the eggs tasted really bad and the service was poor. I went recently I asked if I could reserve a patio seat. The server said first come first serve and then ignored me and said she wouldn't serve me. She was so rude to me, I've never experienced this harassment in my life. Never going back there again! read more

With the permanent closure of the Frog & Firkin up the block we decided to pop in to the Regal Beagle with a couple of friends for a few drinks after dinner. The bar is essentally 2 separate rooms with the kitchen on the left and the bar on the right. We were greeted quickly at the door and were lucky to get the last table in the place. First observation, it is so loud! The tv's were blasting college hockey games, the speakers were blaring crappy pop music and everyone at the tables were trying to have conversations above the din. Second observation, 50% of the patrons were friends of Reagle Beagle employees. At times, we felt like we had crashed a private party. No complaints about our service since our server appeared to be the only employee without a posse of friends visiting. By virtue of the fact that it is now the only bar in the area it is the least bit appealing. read more

I think their stellar location is what keeps this place in business and the lack of other good options in the neighbourhood. I've been here a few times over the last few years and had a couple of beers there last night. In the bathroom there was a sign about the newly renovated regal beagle. Other than the new sign out front of the restaurant I didn't notice any change. The inside is still dated and the bar is still awkwardly cut into two rooms. The beers are not expensive or cheap. I wanted some hot wings but decided against it as they were one of the most expensive items on the menu ($12) I ended up getting the three sliders for $10, they were ok but if I ever come back here I don't think I'll eat. I wish someone would open something new and modern in this neighbourhood, then maybe I won't mind paying $12 for a pound of wings.... read more

Wow so much hate for the Beagle! :-S Well it is a bit loud but it was a good atmosphere for a young crowd. It has a good location, especially now with the 99 B line so close. It's a great place for a few pints, some pub food, and chill with friends. I think their nachos could use more cheese. read more

I haven't been for a while, but went recently to watch a game. I must say, the food and service was very good. Nachos were unreal. Monster tower and fresh made chips. Excellent Guac. Really a cut above. Burgers were massive, fries were excellent. Server was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was great and loads of nice flat screens all over the place. If you want a good bar to watch a game and eat decent bar food, then this does the trick. I would agree that the music was a little too loud sometimes though, but I suppose you could ask them to turn it down a bit. read more

I don't know how to get just a few beers here since they tell you right away that this is a pub with "food priority". So I've tried the fully loaded nachos - a huge pile and really nice fresh and crisp tortilla with ok guacamole, cheese and veggie. The pub is aimed at young people so loud music is a must. Maybe we should have a suggested age section on yelp. My tip for this joint 18-24. Update: It seems that it now has a eating section and a bar section. Don't know if it improves on the loudness aspect since I never went back in - telling isn't it. read more

Really horrible drinks and service. The bartender said a total of two words to us, slapped our drinks on the table and angrily walked away. We all took sips of our drinks and quickly asked for the bill and left without finishing or ordering anything else. read more

Really disappointed in this place. The company was delightful, the staff was friendly, the food was incredibly underwhelming and the service was exceedingly slow for not a busy day. I ordered two appies: The crostini looked good, the fig jam was tasty, and the Brie was overbaked into a greasy chewy lump. Next: the Spicy Tempura Prawns. Well, no. What I hoy was a large order off soggy battered prawns on a bed of chili mayo with a black seamen garnish. The prawns were large, and juicy. Not spicy, not tempura. First quality check, my mouth was full. Flagged the waitress over 20 minutes later. Expressed my disappointment and was comp'ed a pretty average mixed berry cheesecake and coffee. Bill was $27; I left $30 and still hungry for lunch. Since I don't drink and I wasn't paying for atmosphere, I wouldn't go back. read more

This place is pretty fantastic. I've gone multiple times with friends for Karaoke on Sunday's. We know the DJ and like to go to where they are to support them. This is one of our favorite locations that they host at. The drinks are on par with most Vancouver bars but they do have various specials on which is always good. The only problem with their Sunday Drink special is its usually beer which I can't drink, but its good for the rest of the crowd. Their food is delicious!! The menu has something for everyone. So far their Macaroni has been a favorite. I haven't been on days other than Sunday nights but I hear their brunch is pretty good as well. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, however sometimes they need to have more on as the service can be slow. I would definitely recommend checking this place out, especially on Sundays for Karaoke! read more

Solid 3.5 stars for their brunch special, just $4.99 on weekends: 2 eggs, toast, hashbrowns and think one of the guys said bacon too. The Beagle. Every time I eat here it's either awful or just average service. Meals run about a 50/50 chance of actually being hot when served, and the attitude of the servers is pretty terrible. Most of the time I feel like it's a huge inconvenience for them to be serving me, sorry for showing up! The last meal I had was the 4.99 breakfast, cold potatoes, cold eggs, and a quarter of a brown avocado that cost $2. The reason I keep coming back to this place is in the hope for a rare occurrence where service and food quality are at the same level. Food can be really good, and service really friendly, but most of the time its mediocre. The Beagles superb location on Broadway, and new renovations keep me coming back, but less often read more

My favorite pub in Kits ! The staff is always super friendly and accommodating, and the food is really good for pub food ( great nachos ) . There is usually always a drink special as well. Amazing how one ignorant server can ruin an evening. 5/18/19, about 5 PM, my wife son and I ordered drinks from a neck length, dark brown haired server. My wife ordered a whiskey highball in a can, got attitude from the server right away. Our drinks were finished and I tried to get the server's attention three times, but each time as I started to signal, she turned away and left the area. Then I got up and looked for her, did not find her but a co-worker signaled her I was looking for her. When she was about 12 feet away, I held up my hand and gave the universal "check please" by rubbing my thumb and finger together. She immediately walked up like in my face and I asked for the bill, she forcefully stated "you mean a receipt!" I said, sure, whatever you want to call it. Then she returned with the bill and I paid, not leaving a tip. I left and wife and son followed. The server yelled at me "nice tip!" My wife told her she got what she deserved. The servers response was "he's an interesting friend of yours". My wife simply responded "he's my husband". Why is she employed here? read more

The Reagle Beagle has a personable staff and good pub gub. Fun trivia night every Wednesday at 8, though it gets dominated by the regulars.

It's an ok place to go for a pint, but the food is mediocre and I found the atmosphere a bit strange. First off, the interior of the bar is LOUD; while playing a non Canucks game that noone was watching, the volume was so loud everyone was screaming at each other. The decor suggested a pub dining experience, but the insane volume bashed the idea of a sports bar over your head. The patio was quite a lot better, although the Beagle's staff tended to congregate at the entrance to talk to friends, blocking entrance and exit to the establishment. The food was alright, but nothing outstanding. The flatbread and dips app squeaked into the 'ok' category, despite the flatbreads being a bit burnt and near the bottom they were soggy with oil. Burger and chips were fairly standard pub food, but the fries were a over seasoned with so much salt it burnt your tongue, and the sweet potato fries were verging on burnt. Also, if the Beagle is aiming for a pub atmosphere and style, please throw out the poncey long rectangular plates. The Beagle seems to be an establishment with an identity crisis: are you a pub? Sports bar? Dining establishment? read more

Came here a few months ago for drinks. Based on the server's rave review of Peroni beer (Italian), I tried one. Probably one of the worst beers ever.
