I don't know how anyone could give this place anything but 5 stars. I had Nonas meatballs. The meatballs were so well seasoned and tender. The tomato sauce was delicious. The hot garlic bread was the best accompaniment. Probably the best meal I have had in an airport! The server was efficient and friendly. He made a great suggestion of the meatballs.
THE FOOD ---------------- + Fish and Chips - Huge piece of fried cod. A lot of batter on the fish, however it was all still very good. Fries were the soft kind and slaw was solid. + Maple Mustard Roasted Salmon - Salmon was cooked well and tasty. Sweet Potato Mashed Potatoes were excellent too. + Gnocchi with Beef Short Rib Ragu - Portion was large and the ragu had a little kick to it. Lots of short rib in the order, but it was all different sizes with some large chunks here and there. + Strawberry Cheesecake - Verrrrry good and delicious. Texture was smooth and perfect. Plenty of strawberry and sauce for the cake serving. THE SERVICE ------------------- + We did take out, but the food came out relatively fast considering how busy they were. + We used airline vouchers to pay and the employees were very helpful in assisting us and explaining to us how to use our vouchers. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + Restaurant was spacious with some counter seats. + Located in Terminal 1 near gate F60. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------- + Was pretttty busy on an April Friday evening, probably because it's one of the few or only true sitdown full service restaurants in the vicinity of Terminal 1.
We were waiting for a layover flight, so we decided to give this place a try. Despite the many negative reviews, my table actual had a good meal. Everything came out relatively quick, the tables we're clean, and the server was kind. I ordered the Gnocchi with beef, and it was surprisingly satisfying! It was flavorful, and there was plenty for myself. It's a Saturday afternoon, and the restaurant is not busy. Good place to come and relax with a meal in between flights.
- Large restaurant inside YYZ Airport (Terminal 1) offering both dine-in and take-out options - Spacious, well-kept dining area with plenty of seating, making it a comfortable and relatively calm spot for a pre-flight meal; separate take-out counter located to the right - Service stood out--staff were friendly, patient, and helpful as we navigated the menu for our order - Take-out order was thoughtfully and securely packaged - Food was overall enjoyable with some inconsistencies: gnocchi with beef short rib ragu was hearty and savory, though the gnocchi leaned a bit too dense; fish and chips featured a generously sized piece of cod, but the batter was noticeably greasy; maple mustard roasted salmon was the standout--perfectly cooked with a rich, umami-forward sauce, complemented well by mashed sweet potatoes and crispy asparagus; strawberry cheesecake (packaged in its ramekin) was slightly too sweet - A solid airport dining option with welcoming service and a comfortable atmosphere, though a few dishes could benefit from better balance and execution
Get the Salmon! The sweat potato mash with the maple season- OMG! Get all the drinks lol. Quick, easy and clean.
Due to a flight delay at YYZ, we were given food vouchers so we had lunch at The Hearth. Hubby and I asked for medium-rare burgers, and both received well-done burgers. I suspect that they can't cook them to order, but they charge cooked-to-order prices. Quite frankly, the only saving grace is that they sell Rush beer, which I love, and I bought the glass it came in.
Went to The Hearth by Chef Lynn Crawford in Terminal 1 of Toronto Pearson International Airport to have breakfast before my early morning flight. As usual it is busy at this time of the day with all the morning flight passengers. The hostess finally seated me at the bar, which is fine even though I don't drink. I just want to have my morning coffee and breakfast. The server at the bar promptly welcomed me and offer her services. I looked at the menu and ordered a Cafe Latte and the Western Omellete breakfast. The coffee was served first, and the Omelette was served so much later. I know it was busy but when my omellete was served, my coffee was cold already. The food and coffee was good though, and the staff at the bar was nice and friendly. The place was nice, cozy and fast paced, it was constantly full the whole time I was here. They have a full bar so it's a plus for alcohol drinkers in the morning. It was a good breakfast, and a nice play to stay while waiting for my flight: Check it out!
Went back to Pearson airport and got the chicken sandwich with fries. I had to indulge. Was ok. The chicken was crispy. Should've gotten something healthier. Employees were very nice and attentive. Busy spot.
Ordered the beet salad at the YYZ airport on my recent trip. I figured I'll be indulging during the rest of my meals, it was good to get some more fibre and greens ahead of it all. The restaurant was about half full maybe. However, it took awhile for them to even come over to take my order and also to cash me out. So 45 mins from my flight was a bit tight but it all worked out even though my gate was all the way the end of the aisle. I wouldn't say the salad was super impressive or anything but it met my expectations (I didn't have that high since it's airport food). There's also an option to add protein. Though instead I got booster juice nearby to get my protein fix.
I came here for a 4AM breakfast as I entered through security and customs rather quickly. The seater was incredibly friendly and I really appreciated her kindness at such an early time. The server wasn't as kind and was a bit slow. It was steady but not busy. I would have thought things would've moved more quickly with this being an airport restaurant. Chill vibes and kinda expensive for what it is. I asked for the hollandaise sauce on the side in case I didn't like it but it came normal. I tried the sauce and kept the meal as is once I determined I liked it. It kept me full and I had no issues using my meal voucher from the day prior. The server wasn't able to check that it worked or the amount beforehand. Luckily I had enough for my meal and tipped in cash. Thank you Air Canada!
A disappointing final meal in Canada. I ordered the bagel and lox, but the smoked salmon was unmistakably farm-raised--something I didn't expect from Canada... Unfortunately, the food wasn't the only letdown. My server, Kamal, was inattentive, careless, and slow. It took over 20 minutes for her to take my order, and I had to ask twice for a side of cream cheese before finally flagging her down to get it. The experience worsened when I asked to split the bill between two credit cards for work purposes--she told she didn't know how to do it and asked me to just pay with one. I had to insist she find someone to help her. Save yourself the frustration and dine elsewhere.
This was my second time dining at Hearth. It is right at the entrance of Concourse F after border security clearance. Pretty large space, got a big bar in the middle. It is the only full dining restaurant in the section, so it is always packed. The menu is short with limited appetizers and entrees. This time I got the salmon. It took a while for the food to come out, but it was well prepared. My Sprite had no fizz and tasted like bland sugar water. Both times I experienced ordinary service here. The waiter came, took my order, brought my food, and gave me the check.
A great spot if you need a decent meal before a flight to the US. On this layover, on Canada Day, I enjoyed their heaping plate of poutine. Well made, great mix of curds and gravy on fresh fries. Service was excellent. Our waiter did not push us too quickly and let us enjoy our meal at pace while we waited for our flight. Extra bonus points for having Henderson Brewery's Rush beer on tap!
While waiting for an early afternoon flight, we read up on our restaurant options in terminal 1, selecting the Hearth based on Therese H.'s gluten-free requirements. We found the staff to be well trained, from the hostess who enthusiastically pointed out several GF options, to the server who had the competency and good timing to work in a fine-dining establishment, to the additional server who explained how airline-supplied meal vouchers would be scanned and stacked. The meal itself seems quite simple: hamburger and fries for me, hamburger (with GF bun) and salad for her. It was an exceptionally good burger, decorated with a cocktail pickle affixed to the bun top. As crowded as airport dining spaces can be, we felt quite relaxed here, and likely would make a stop again when traveling through this terminal. Thanks Hearth Restaurant, you gave us just what we needed to enjoy a happy flight home. read more

We stopped at The Hearth in Terminal 1 after clearing U.S. customs before our flight and were pleasantly surprised by the meal. We ordered Nonna Lynn's Meatballs, the short-rib gnocchi, and the pulled-pork tacos to share. The meatballs were the highlight. They were very tender, and the tomato sauce was genuinely flavorful. The herbed ricotta worked really well with them, and the toasted bread had a light touch of garlic. We would definitely order these again. The short-rib gnocchi was also very good. The beef was tender, the sauce was rich and savory, and there was a generous amount of short rib. One of us loved it as-is, while the other found it slightly on the salty side, but overall it was a very enjoyable dish. The pulled-pork tacos were the disappointment. They looked great and came with plenty of toppings, but both of us independently felt that the pork itself lacked flavor. With better-seasoned pork, these could have been much better. The service was pleasant., faster food delivery. For a airport restaurant the ambience is enjoyable though the place could get very crowded during lunch hours Overall, this was a good airport meal and better than we were expecting. If we were flying through the U.S. gates at Pearson again, we'd happily come back--but next time we'd order the meatballs and gnocchi and skip the tacos. read more

We decided to grab a quick bite before boarding, and I honestly did not expect this place to be as good as it was! Our waitress was very nice and attentive throughout the meal. I ordered the pork tacos, and they were packed with flavor. My husband ordered the gnocchi, and it completely blew our minds, it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a nice open concept layout and also features a full bar for anyone wanting to stop in just for drinks. Overall, this place was such a pleasant surprise, and I really enjoyed the experience. read more

Meh. Hostess is unfriendly and unwelcoming. Waiter(Rahul) was very friendly. He told me my meal would take 20 minutes and it did. Unfortunately I could not get the check for another 25 minutes, I almost needed to dine and dash in order to catch my flight. I had to wave down two servers to get someone to let him know I needed to go. I ordered the maple salmon $35 it was Hard, dry and really needed tgat sauce to make it edible. The asparagus stalks were actually cold. read more
We had a great meal at the airport before flying home from Toronto. One very last poutine, peameal Canadian ham sandwich, and a flatbread pizza. The poutine was delicious with a great mix of curds and gravy on fresh fries. It was nice to finally try a Canadian ham sandwich since we ran out of time on this trip. The flatbread pizza was almost like a salad with a lots of rocket/arugula on top. Overall we had a nice meal here during our 2 hours wait for our flight. We actually sat a little longer because our flight was delayed by 30 mins and our waitress did not rush us at all. read more

Good place that is located inside Toronto airport. It's a casual restaurant with tv monitors to watch the news or sports. The menu is offers a variety of foods to choose from to meet different tastes. The western omelet was very delicious. It's made with ham, green and red peppers, and cheese. The red potatoes were okay. A little dry but still tasty. The bacon was cooked to perfection. All of this good food washed down with a latte. Malik, our waiter, was attentive, pleasant, and efficient with bringing items to the table. Food prices are reasonable, especially when considering paying in CAD and your credit card converts it to USD. If you're in Toronto airport, you definitely want to give this place a try. read more

We grabbed some lunch at The Hearth by Chef Lynn Crawford before our flight. It was good for airport dining and I enjoyed every bite of the burger even though it didn't look like much. I had the Hearth Bacon Cheeseburger ($22 CAD), served medium well with bacon, aged Canadian cheddar, special sauce, lettuce, tomato & pickles. I had fries as my side but you could also do a salad. I personally thought the service was extremely slow and you couldn't catch our server but she was friendly when we interacted. It was kind of like she was on auto pilot and it took forever to get the check and then she had to go back to correct it which took even longer. Not sure what was going on this day (maybe a lot of tables, etc.) but It was ok, and the burger was good. I was really happy we walked back up from our gate to eat here over the other options. It's a good choice if you find yourself in Terminal 1, F gates. read more
This place was so disappointing. The cappuccino was watery my French toast was burnt and just didn't taste good. Everything was so ridiculously overpriced and the service was slow. I would absolutely not recommend this restaurant nor would I eat here again. I did not have high hopes for it to begin with since it's in an airport, but it was even worse than I'd expected. read more
Wow, what a great place! And in an airport of all places. From the time we arrived (they gave us a window table without even asking) till the time we left, this was an excellent experience. Our server, Susy, was super friendly and gave us some great recommendations. We went with Angry Orchard cider, the haddock and poutine plate, and cheesecake. Everything was outstanding, the fish flaky inside, crispy on the outside. The fries, cheese curds, and gravy were perfect. The bar in the center looks very cool. Highly recommended. Looking forward to another meal here! read more
Located in the F gates (flights to the US) of Toronto Airport, there's only a few restaurants. It bears the name of a popular Canadian chef, Lynn Crawford. But before you get excited, set your expectations really low because I didn't and I was super disappointed. The menu is very limited. You'd think with a small menu, the dishes are the ones they've perfected. Nope! I ordered a burger and instead of fries, I got poutine because Canada. The burger was cooked medium-well and was dry AF and that's how they cook it. The poutine was pretty good. When I'm fighting back tears as I force myself to eat - it's bad! I could only finish half of my meal - it was a struggle. The highlight of my meal was the iced tea - I got full off of that. My server was great. He covered a huge area but I didn't feel like he forgot about me. I think his name was Moukash. He's the only reason for the 2nd star. I would've been better off with a McDonald's. read more

Came in for an early breakfast after entering the USA area of the airport. We ordered two homestead breakfasts; one with bacon, two over easy eggs, sourdough toast and French Fries and the other with sausage and poached eggs. We also had coffee. For an airport breakfast, it was as expected, expensive and mediocre. Not a fan for French Fries at breakfast. read more
There's not much to choose from at this end of the airport, so we waited about 10 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad. Our server was attentive and took our drink order almost immediately. We ordered the beet salad and the gnocchi with braised short rib. Both were good, the gnocchi was a little over cooked but the taste was great. Comfort food! Ambiance is crowded and loud, but it's a busy airport. I would eat here again on my next flight through. read more
Not bad for an airport. We both got flatbreads, which were tasty, but could have used a bit more sauce rather than just being cheese/toppings/crust - especially the cheese flatbread which didn't have any toppings. Service was good, and considering the limited options in the American pre-clearance section of YYZ, not a bad option for a meal before a flight - especially if you're flying Air Canada and will be delayed for hours. read more
