In my honest opinion I would recommend just eating somewhere else. The food was underwhelming to say the least. I most enjoyed the blueberry pancake and that was more so to the fact of the real fruit use. Eggs had no seasoning, cheese was weirdly melted so it wasn't fully mixing into scrambled eggs with cheese. The hash potatoes, I just absolutely avoided after the first 2 bites. I do wish I was able to give a kinder review but I'm the area, it is just too many other options.

Fast service, delicious food. Everything a diner should be. The server was very friendly as well. Great experience

Close place for breakfast. Seated quickly, friendly staff. The blueberry lemonade was delicious. Ordered a burger ( even though was only 10am) and husband got potatoes with eggs and onions. The burger was average but a good size and ended up too much food. The potatoes are awesome. Server was very friendly. Food was up super fast! Will definitely go there again

I just found a spot you're going to love. If you're in Toronto, you've got to try the Sunset Grill. Their peameal sandwich was highly recommended, and it totally lived up to the hype. The food came out in less than 4 minutes, the service was excellent, and the sandwich was incredible--soft bread with bacon, egg, and their signature sunset sauce. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, too. I'm giving this place my full approval. You can thank me later!

I hate giving bad reviews but I was less than impressed with this place. As an American, the best comparison I can give to this place is a Denny's. It's a diner. I ordered the French toast and it was less appealing visually. Perhaps I'm too bougee, but this wasn't my greatest pick for something upscale. Nothing went wrong, I had great service in fact, but the presentation of the meal was not great. There was an excessive amount of potatoes, the French toast wasn't anything special, very thick cut ham. It's not my first choice to go here again, but it's not awful either, just not anything special. There are better options for breakfasts in Toronto.

This place was amazing. You should definitely check this place out when you're in Toronto. It's an all day breakfast they have many options and the food was amazing. I had the western omelette that comes with toast and home fries. server was really nice and welcoming. the place is busy but it moves fast. Definitely want to go back again.

While the service was decent, the food was not. The potatoes lacked flavor and the egg sandwich was not that far off. I took two bites of the sandwich and decided to just eat the bread instead (I will say that the toast on the bread was the only thing they got right.)

A typical diner experience. Got all the breakfast menu items you'd expect from a diner. Nothing elevated or out of this world. Just nice middle of the road diner food. Sometimes that's all one wants. Was lucky not to have to wait for a table, but it does get pretty busy during brunch time on the weekend, so be prepared for that. Nothing specific to point out about the menu, it's what you expect.

I had routine bloodwork to do this morning downtown. I had to fast for it and was STARVING afterwards so I had breakfast afterwards at Sunset Grill. I ordered bacon and eggs. Yum! Bianca was my server and she was great! Friendly and chatty!

Toast, 3 eggs over easy, and potatoes. Across the table was French toast.

Fast service and great service. We went for breakfast my mom had French toast she really liked it. I had the eggs, hash brown potatoes and toast with coffee. Eggs were exactly as I ordered, toast was stall, not fresh, that was the first time in my life I've ever requested a new order of toast. The flavour was off, toast was tough, butter didn't even melt.

Breakfast place good, quick and affordable

Sunset Grill offers all-day breakfast. They were founded in 1985 in the Beach, Toronto. They claim to be the first in Canada to serve all-day breakfast and have stayed the same operationally all these years. They claim to have many loyal customers. I went on a Tue at 11:40am and they were full. The wait wasn't long but all their tables were occupied. I've never been to a Sunset Grill before so I didn't know what to expect. I had their Sunset Pancakes ($7.25) on National Pancake Day. Every year on that day, their pancakes are $1 each and proceeds go to Canadian Cancer Society. What i didn't realize was that the Sunset Pancakes usually come with a stack of 3 pancakes. Granted, you can choose how many pancakes you wanted on a plate, so you can choose 1 or more. What surprised me is that everything else (toppings) are charged separately (e.g. $2.99 for fresh strawberries or $2.49 for real maple syrup). Or you can get 3 toppings for $4.99 so I got 3: fresh strawberries, real maple syrup, and chocolate chips. The chocolate chips are withing the batter. The real maple syrup came in a cute bottle (enough for 4-5 pancakes). They do bring you their imitation syrup (which is free). The service was good.

I was looking for brunch and I saw the good reviews of this place. It's an okay-ish place. I got a table immediately and the staff was nice and friendly. It's tidy, well-organized and classy. It's a nice and quiet place for breakfast. The menu and prices are good. The menu has the classical options for brunch, nothing wow about it. I got the Sunset Super. I was a little bit dissatisfied with the food presentation but it tasted pretty good.

The food was absolutely delicious fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, and the drinks were equally impressive. One of the best parts is the view you can actually see the CN Tower right from the restaurant, which makes the experience even more special and uniquely Toronto. It added such a beautiful touch to the evening. Overall, Siempre Restaurant exceeded my expectations. Pierina guided us via phone and even came outside of the restaurant and waved as we approached. That was awesome Customer service as well as kindness. Ambiance was chill inside. Especially liked the artwork and table with their name on it. I had the Nutella latte, Nutella and strawberry waffle, and a side of sausage. Didn't like the sausage at all (tasted a bit gamey) but that's probably because ein the states there are nitrates, etc that make it taste better. No biggie! She switched it out for bacon, and that was fine and appreciated. My sister had the breakfast tacos that looked delicious and she really enjoyed. All in all this was a great pick and I would return when im Canada ever again and I'm in the area. Keep up the great work, Pierina. Her welcoming attitude attentiveness and knowledge of the menu was stellar and warrants recognition. Thank you!!!

This cafe is small and while I was there it was definitely a tight squeeze. Where you order and where you pick up your drink isn't designed to allow for a good flow for customers, aside from that, I have no complaints. I ordered a latte and grabbed two goodies for the road, a raspberry croissant and a ginger molasses cookie. The staff working were welcoming and friendly and my items were ready rather quickly. Once I got back to my hotel, I settled in to enjoy and get some work done. My latte was smooth and creamy and just what I needed to get my day started. My raspberry croissant was beautiful and packed full of flavor. The filling wasn't too sweet and there was just the right amount inside. I saved my cookie for a snack while I traveled home later that day. I love how it had chunks of sugared ginger on top. The cookie had the perfect amount of chew to it and the ginger on top added an extra burst of ginger. It was lovely. I'm so glad I found this cafe on Yelp and I highly suggest you pay them a visit. I'm still dreaming of all the pastries I didn't get to try.

A quick Yelp check pointed me to this spot a brisk eight-minute walk from Queen Station on Yonge, and I'm so glad I made the detour instead of heading to one of my usual haunts. I was seated immediately. The place has lots of seating -- high tops, tables and booths -- and a cool, eclectic vibe: comfy chairs, interesting wall photos, eggshell light fixtures and cheerful yolk‑yellow and orange tones. Big glass windows make it a fun people‑watching spot, and the open kitchen lets you see the cooks hustling away. I ordered the classic breakfast (just over $18): two scrambled eggs -- soft and perfect -- plus herb potatoes fried in beef tallow (I swapped those for lightly dressed artisan greens). You choose your protein -- bacon, Canadian bacon, rosemary ham, chicken, or pork bangers -- and I went with the hardwood‑smoked bacon: three perfectly cooked slices. Coffee was ethically sourced, and my mochaccino hit the sweet spot -- not too sugary. All in all 10 out of 10. I plan to try their gluten free waffle next time. Extras worth noting: they offer booze, smoothies, juices, and a $4.75 "coffee bump" (1 oz of Irish cream, Kahlúa, whiskey, bourbon, brandy, or Grand Marnier). Eggs are free‑run. Service was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable -- got me in and out without feeling rushed, back at my desk before 1 pm. I'll definitely be back -- next time with friends so I have an excuse to order everything on the menu. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a well‑made, comforting breakfast-anytime (and possibly a legal excuse for a midday coffee bump).

Had a lovely brunch at L'Avenue in Toronto at the outdoor shopping center - The Well. My friend insisted we go because it's "hottest brunch spot in town". He was right - there was a huge line - but they have a waitlist! And make sure you get ahead of the crowd at the door, because it was a bit chaotic, and people who were waiting at the door didn't even realize there was a waitlist. The waitlist was easy - host took our name and phone number - and texted when the table was ready. Food was delicious and although the prices seemed high, the portions were actually very big. I had the "I'll have it all" - and this was a perfect mix of everything, but I couldn't finish it! My boyfriend got pancakes - same for him - he couldn't finish it because it was so rich! The server was super nice - but I didn't feel like I had time to really order the right things and ask questions. So I'll go back for sure, but maybe when the heat dies down.
