The food was excellent (and fast), and our waitress was on top of things, ensuring that glasses were never empty. Would definitely come back. One thing that could be changed? We frequented the place a lot when living here. Now in Fla the last two years. Visited the area this week and had to get back to our fave restaurants. Always dependable here. Very good, never disappointing. Consistent and that's a major plus. Staff is always pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed our meals and time here. Will be back again in two years hopefully. Nice to see my old pics still online here. My only gripe was that the grounds outside always beautiful this time of year. Would have preferred dining outside. A Hidden Gem ! Amazing, amazing, amazing! Stopped by on a snowy night after dropping a car for repair. The first thing I noticed was some great music playing outside from the gazebo. Walked in to a lively place with a very friendly receptionist and a bustling crowd. They took our number, the staff was entertaining as we waited for a seat and we were amazed how quickly things progressed. We sat at a table near the bar and the manager came to say hello. Food was outstanding! Served promptly, hot and delish. Presentation was great as well. I highly recommend any of the Mac and cheese dishes if you're in need of some great comfort food. Be mindful about reservations, I dislike writing negative reviews and I feel this needed to be shared. Called for the last week daily to try and schedule a late lunch for Father's Day. The phone went to voicemail for two days and the third day a very kind individual scheduled us for 2pm outside on Father's Day (knowing it will get us first in line per their Facebook posts) and stressed outside. We received a call 45 minutes before our 2pm reservation on Father's Day saying they can't seat us outside due to a big event they have, only inside. I explained we have individuals not comfortable with indoor seating yet and they said, "sorry we can't accommodate due to a large event we have outside.. we didn't know about the event when you scheduled." The individual was nice on the phone and nothing else could be done. Family from all over coming to celebrate Father's Day and we get a call 45 minutes before our scheduled arrival. It was a really sad experience and having to cancel the gathering as other restaurants did not have availability on short notice. We were very excited to experience Haversham. Ate here tonight and I have to say we were both very happy. We were seated promptly, and our waitress was delightful. We both had lobster bisque which was creamy and tasty. Terrible experience, we went there tonight for my son's 12th birthday, and nothing went right. They didn't take a reservation, and then the call ahead didn't work the way they said it was going to. We waited close to 40 minutes to get a table, after we did the call ahead. They were all out of what my son tried to order. When we ordered, the appetizers came out quick and then we waited and then we waited and waited and waited for our food to come out. It's too bad, we went there every year for Mother's Day and Easter. But now I will never go back. read more

We were late to arrive at our campsite with two young grandchildren and needed to find food so we ended up by chance at the Haversham. It turned out we were just a few minutes late to order from the full menu but the staff took pity on us and let us order dinner. It was wonderful and not just because we were tired and hungry. This is a nice spot for lunch or dinner within a short drive of the beach. The salad was nice and fresh. The bourbon sirloin tips were good and a bit sweet as you would expect. I would have preferred a little bit of a thicker sauce but was still happy with my choice. The peach whiskey smash was smashing - anything peach cocktail is usually my go to. One would be hard-pressed to find a better place to eat after a beautiful day at the beach! We requested a quiet table and were seated outside. Split the Stuffies and we each got hot buttered Lobster Rolls, one with onion rings and one with fries. Our server was attentive, food came out fairly quickly, and our entire meal tasted delicious and fresh. Today my family and I had dinner at the Haversham house. We called several hours ahead making a reservation for 6pm. Though, when we arrived they told us that they had call-ins only, not reservation making. We waited for 45 minutes until we eventually had to settle for a table next to the bar. On a more positive note our server was very helpful and the food was delicious, we ordered 3 grilled samons, stuffed shrimp and the onion rings. In the building had a very warm and cozy lighting and the shelves were decorated for the fourth of July. Overall it was a nice place to go to with family, (just don't call for a reservation) read more

First the service is just a bunch of unprofessional young adults that handle the food and drinks In an unsafe unsanitary way (nasty way). Example bar tenders eating while serving.(nasty) so obviously no safe food handling training.The food is nothing more than low grade bar food ( had better at a biker bar). Had to beg employees to take an order because they were too busy feeding themselves cookies and candies. In conclusion I would recommend not to go there. We were advised to come here on the weekend, particularly if you like prime rib. I ordered their incredible homemade Mac and cheese with grilled chicken and had lots to bring home, it was so delicious and filling! Mike finished his delicious prime rib and enjoyed it! We loved the cozy, sporty vibe in the bar while the rest of the place looked beautiful and a bit more formal. Our waitress Robin was top notched and gave us excellent advice about touring this area. This has always been a favorite restaurant of mine & my friend's but today we didn't have the best experience there. I ordered the New England clam chowder & the beer batter fish & chips which were all outstanding but my friend order the Hawaiian teriyaki chicken with a baked potato & a salad as her starter. The salad was fine but when her meal came out her baked potato wasn't cooked all the way so it was hard...I contacted one of the hosts because there station wasn't right behind our table & they immediately brought her a new potato that was much better. Her chicken however was not the same as it had been on previous visits. The teriyaki was very runny & wasn't adhering to the chicken as it usually does & she said it was very difficult to cut like it was overcooked & didn't have much flavor. Our waitress really only came to our table about 3 times...when she took our order, once after our meal was delivered & when she brought & picked up the check. She was pleasant but I felt there wasn't a lot of attention to things such as filling our water & checking in to see if we needed anything else. We were seated in the front right room & I'm sure that she must have had other tables in the bar area but I still think the service was not up to par. When I ordered it said on the menu that soup or salad could be added to your meal for $2.99 which was why I had ordered the clam chowder but when our bill came I saw that we had been charged $7.99 for the chowder instead of the $2.99. That's when the waitress told me it was only for the soup of the day which is regularly $6.99 a cup. Pretty silly...it's not like it's lobster bisque or something which I would understand but there is only a $1.00 difference. The other complaint I think I would have is they had like 3 hosts at the podium & most of the time they were just sea ding around talking v about personal stuff which I thought was kind of unprofessional. When we first got there we were the first guests to sit in the small front room to the right & the hosts had their phones & Dunkin' Donuts cups on the first table which was fine since no one was really there but we wanted to sit somewhere more quiet so we could talk & not be in the bar where it's much louder & has TV's playing. It was also extremely cold in the restaurant which normally wouldn't bother me but a lot of other people that were coming in were complaining about the cold as well. The outside grounds are stunning & the inside of the restaurant is also very pretty as well. We asked a few of the other diners on our room what meals they had & how they were & they all raved about them! They said the tuna melt & the Mac & cheese with lobster were outstanding. We understand that everyone has an off day so we will be back another day to try something different to eat! No reservations were needed when we went at about 4:15 today but when we were leaving about 5:30 people were waiting outside to get a table so I'd probably recommend calling ahead to see if you need a reservation. We played golf in the area, and were looking for a place to eat after our round...things are very spread out down here, so The Haversham Tavern seemed like a reasonable option...and we couldn't have been happier with our choice! I have a friend who is *trying* to get married at The Haversham venue in October, and had arranged for both the ceremony and the reception, as well as overnight accommodations, in January of this year. Since then, Tara, the main event coordinator, has gone out on medical leave and nobody has answered any of her calls, texts or emails in months. She has no idea if they're even going to be ready for her wedding at this point. She and her fiance have been trying to reach Nathan, (supposedly) the backup coordinator, and he has totally dodged all their attempts to communicate. I don't know if it's a matter of him being overwhelmed on the job, or if he just sucks at it, but they have completely dropped the ball. There needs to be better communication. Hire an interim event coordinator, or get Nathan some help to handle things - do *something.* My friend and her fiance are not alone in this either - she has said that several couples have reached out to her to see if she has any other information about what's going on and who to contact. These people have paid good money for one of the most important events of their lives and they are being completely left in the dark. Look somewhere else for your events. read more

Nice pub style atmosphere lots of wide screens and pretty wide open feel. Pleasant staff and plenty of high tops. I started with the chili, which was a very memorable one. Pretty thick with melted cheese and served with nacho chips. Nice little hint of heat and flavorful. And I followed up with the clam a la sham. Which was also very enjoyable. Clams where tender and the chorizo added a nice flavor. The dish could have benefited with a larger portion of pasta under the clams and a little more sauce to go along with the extra pasta. read more

Great waitress!! They need to put much more crab in their crab cakes. So much breading hard to find the crab. And $25 for four cakes no bigger than a half dollar each is a complete rip off. Ordered two martinis, the first was incredible and the second contained little to no alcohol. I live in this town and it will be a while until I go back again for a dinner. The poor service from management (and possibly the owner) was appalling. I called at 1:30pm to make a 6:30pm reservation which was confirmed by an employee on the phone. When we arrived we were told that we would be seated when a table opened and that they did not take reservations, adding that the employee "shouldn't have offered a reservation to begin with." When we noticed a large open table the hostess said they would only seat parties of 8 at that table. There was no effort to fix the issue. After about 20 mins we asked to speak to a manager, who started by saying he was busy, that he would fire whoever offered a reservation if we "told him who it was", and walked away without attempt to remedy the situation reiterating that he was busy. Last night my family and I went to the Haversham for dinner. The group of us inconveniently convoyed to a restaurant up the road that was closed on Tuesdays and as it was late and we had a larger group we called the Haversham to see what time the kitchen closed as well as if they were able to accommodate a group of 10. They said yes and that kitchen "does not necessarily have a close time" but they would be switching to a smaller "pub" menu at 9. I said that's alright and we would be on our way. We showed up 5 of 9:00 PM and the hostess informed us if we could all get our order in in 5 mins that we could order off the regular menu. We decided it would be easier for the staff and us if we took the "Pub Menu" and ordered off that. In the midst of us ordering the waitress Robin clearly was in a rush, even telling a member of our party to "chop chop" while ordering. I've worked in the food service business for years and I know how frustrating it can be when a large party shows up late but even so, I called ahead and if they did not want to accommodate us they could of turned us away. The food was fair however they forgot 2 items of our order and it seemed to frustrate the staff even more when we told them that we were missing a few items. While eating, there were people vacuuming and moving around us closing the restaurant which is fair but clearly they wanted us out even though there were plenty of people still dining in the bar room. When the check came every thing seemed fine at first however we noticed a lot of price discrepancies on the check per the "Pub Menu" that we were given. A lot of the items on the check were 2 to 3 dollars more than listed on the Pub Menu. A member of our party brought this to the managers attention. The manager was more than disrespectful to her stating "that this is an old menu but let me ask you this, if was the other menu would you have got the same thing?" She stated this is the menu we were presented with and that we were under the impression this is what we were paying for. He asked in an condescending tone "what am I supposed to do take a 2 or 3 dollars off all the items?" Mind you this gentlemen seemed like he was drinking. Robin the waitress continued to say "I know nothing about nothing" and that she was "not involved" but while going to the bathroom I heard her exclaim to another worker that she wanted to "go the f*** home" The manager seemed to be less than accommodating and took 10 dollars off our bill. Which we priced out to be overcharged by $34.00. I am completely devastated by the decisions and the poor customer service by every one involved at the Haversham. We over heard the staff at the bar ridiculing us and making fun of our party around the corner as we were figuring out the bill. It says more about the business than it does about our party when we brought a price discrepancy to their attention and they vehemently denied that this was an error on the Haversham's part. We have been coming to and own houses here for over 25 years to Charlestown and Westerly. We are familiar with the area and aren't some random tourists that want to disrespect local businesses. We have previously been to the Haversham and have had no prior issues however we will NEVER be returning. I hope this warns future dinners that they are overcharging and then not taking accountability for their errors. Please be mindful when dining at the Haversham as they seem to be scamming people that overlook their bills out of money. read more

Outside seating is beautiful they have a tent, patio and gazebo seating, perfect for lunch or a summer night! I literally have so many favorites here the calamari is great crab cakes are fantastic I love the patty melt the Cobb salad is in this awesome tortilla shell. I really enjoy the sham slam it's a mix of steak tips chicken & ribs and the ribs just fall right off the bone! The clams all a sham is another favorite of mine amazing dish! And if you can fit it make sure to get dessert the cinnamon dippers are to die for! The inside bar area had plexiglass to separate back of the bar with bar table. Unfortunately, a lot of people were not following Covid guidelines. You can tell it's a local bar. Eight of us went for the Mother's Day buffet. We were were seated in a big, bright, and beautiful room surrounded by windows. Our server was attentive and delightful. In fact, kudos to all the helpful servers. Unfortunately, the food was unremarkable. I asked our group at the end what they had that was delicious. The French toast won hands down. The hash browns were favored because they were spicy and interesting. The Mac and cheese was good but mine was somewhat dry. The Cesar salad was tasty. But the rest was just ok. I don't know what average buffet prices are now but we paid almost $40 per adult and there was nothing special. The carving station only had ham though I saw that in previous years they had prime rib. There was salmon but it was dry too. I understand the difficulty in serving the masses at a buffet but I've been to buffets where the food is still delicious, some of which is cooked to order. There was nothing special at this buffet. The desserts were disappointing. Not a treat on the table was worth the calories, according to our table, but the children did like the chocolate chip cookies. Again, disappointing choices given the nearly $40 price. Only coffee and soft drinks were included. And, just for feedback, I called twice a month in advance to make reservations and was told to call back by a dismissive woman. She said they weren't ready for Mother's Day yet! What is there to get ready for? Open a calendar. Write my name down. You've done this before! The people answering the phones should be pleasant and polite. Went to a first communion here today that was in The Haversham House-separate from the main building. It was a beautiful spot with a large space, huge bar, chandeliers and a stone fireplace. The service was fantastic. The passed appetizers were delicious and so was the buffet. Everything g was tasty and hot. Overall a great place to hold a function. read more

Pretty discouraged about the customer service. Called to see if I could have a gift card paid for over the phone and picked up by someone else as I live over an hour away. Unfortunately, the bartender said that he couldn't take a card over the phone. I've never heard of such a thing as sometimes you pay for takeout over the phone or several times I've had gift cards mailed to me. Unfortunately we had to go with another restaurant in the area.
