Grilled Salmon*
James M.

Interior was spacious but in need of updating and cleaning with broken chairs and some questionable looking condiment bottles. Service was accommodating and friendly to our larger party. The menu consists mostly of breaded, fried and "quick cook" dishes. Ordered the Grilled Salmon with side salad and seasonal vegetables. The Salmon seemed to have been poached and pan seared rather than grilled and generally lacking any flavor other than the oil it was cooked in. The vegetable was green beans which were quite undercooked and firm as agreed upon by the rest of the table who has also ordered the vegetables. Overall I was left with the impression of low quality standards, a general lack of enthusiasm or passion 3.7/10

Room set up

This venue has two spaces for you to consider hosting events in, I personally hosted my baby shower in the Haversham House. The planning team was fantastic - shout out to Isabella for being on top of all communications and ready day of with her team for some last minute adjustments. The food was FANTASTIC. I got nothing but high praise from everyone in attendance. 10/10 recommend to bring family and friends together here in their space.

What a serendipitous find!! There's quite a few good restaurants in and around Mystic, Connecticut…read moreand Westerly, Rhode Island and this wonderful place must be considered up there with the absolute BEST! The food was high quality, mostly locally sourced and perfectly prepared. Sauces and seasoning couldn't have been tastier. Went there a few days ago for the first time. My first choice was the "Summer Fettuccine" which unfortunately was so popular it had recently sold out. I settled for the more plebeian hanger steak which at any random restaurant can be anywhere from meh (mediocre) to excellent. This was EXCELLENT! Tender and tasty. Loved it. I decided to come backcountry the next morning and sample their breakfast fare. Equally delicious. So satisfying. Had a few things all excellent but the "simple" (not really so simple) "Morning Taco" was outstanding; definitely a cut above. I don't know if my stomach would have had room but my tingling brain was saying I could have had FOUR of those, nothing else and have left happy as a lark, owl, dove...

We tried a few different things but our favorites were the tomato burrata and the chicken schnitzel. We didn't care too much for the Johnny cakes since it didn't have flavor to it. Our server was Ricardo and he was excellent. The most serene water view from our table added to the ambience. The summer campanelle and the Italian sausage rigatoni were perfect. We had a lovely dinner here three years ago, What a shocking disappointment on our return trip…read moretonight. The restaurant and the entire property are beautiful. And our waiter Iggy was a delightful and attentive server. My wife's sea bass was delicious. And I have little else to say that's positive. I had the toro appetizer. It was tough, chewy, and drowned in so much marinade you couldn't taste anything else. I honestly didn't know toro could even be chewy. Sent back the first order thinking it was cut wrong. Second was just as bad. And they didn't take it off the check. Lobster pappardelle was nearly flavorless -- void of seasoning -- and I needed a magnifying glass to find the lobster in this dish. There were numerous service mistakes that I won't detail here. Suffice to say it feels like nobody is managing the dining experience. I've had better service in most diners than we had here. With so many great restaurants in the area, you'd be better off driving by, taking some pictures, and going almost anywhere else. (Try Ella's. It's a gem.) Believe the one-star reviews posted here. I'd do the same if not for our excellent server and my wife's entree. But we left wishing we'd just ordered a pizza.

While the food has remained consistently great- the service and the attitude of the staff has seriously deteriorated. Do not attempt to go without a reservation. You will be met with a quick dismal with no apologies or please try us again. We even attempted to sit at the bar which is usually first come first serve and had 4 empty seats at this particular time but we were sternly told by the owners husband they were reserved and we would have to wait at least 90 minutes for a seat. I am a regular customer for years but there was no recognition or appreciation for my return business. Finally, as we exited the "hostess" who quickly turned us away when we first entered, glared at us - obviously upset we took it upon ourselves to look in the bar area. So if you want good food in an unfriendly atmosphere- this is your place. As for me - I'll pass.

We are a very inexperienced group of bowlers and they kindly put us on the farthest lane. The food server promptly took our food order and checked up on us a few times. The other family (from out of town) really liked the food and especially the pricing (considering we were thinking about Foxwoods's High Roller bowling lounge. A similar package was $300) We ordered (3 at $4 each) hot Suppi stuffies, and order of (4) breadsticks with beer cheese (amazing), a Mac and cheese (topped with crispy bacon and toasted breadcrumbs) with (4) wings combo, and a pepperoni pizza (in addition to the cheese pizza in our package). For the 6 of us (2 of them being children) we still took home some left overs. Like I said - we're inexperienced bowlers and it took us 2 hours to play 2 games of bowling on 1 lane for the 6 of us. Our 2 hours fell right on our 10th frame of the second game and they were nice enough to add 10 minutes to our game. Make sure to tip the staff and servers. They were super helpful and friendly. Our server, however, was a gem -- friendly, attentive, and quick with a smile. All in all, a pleasant spot if you're after a good time and a decent meal -- just don't expect culinary fireworks.
