My family stopped at the restaurant while on a long road trip. My husband is a 100% disabled Army veteran. His service dog was with him. The two employees (one was a manager), proceeded to tell him he could not have the service dog without proof and wanted us to show them documentation. I explained to them that it is illegal to ask to see any documentation regarding his service dog. To appease them, my husband showed them his disabled veteran ID. They were rude and belligerent to us and told him that was not good enough. I again explained it is against both federal (American's with Disabilities Act), and state (Texas law) to ask to see documentation regarding his service dog. I encouraged them to look it up to confirm. They told us, "then you can leave." They continued telling us it was their store policy, and kicked us out of the establishment. We are shocked at the lack of respect and professionalism, not to mention a disregard of both federal and state law. It's almost impossible to contact Subway corporate or find this franchise owner. So, I figured I'd warn Yelpers to pack a lunch, keep driving or grab some Godfather's Pizza instead.
