Super cute shop with excellent cookies and muffins. A true gem in Ozona, TX! We will stop here whenever we're driving through Texas.

Pepe's Cafe is the perfect example of "Never judge a book by its cover" and let me explain why…read more On my roadtrip with my buddy back to Florida we decided to stop here for initially breakfast. Sadly we arrived too late due to a flat tire. We walked in and were immediately greeted and told to sit wherever we liked. As we were sitting down we instantly had chips & salsa being served to our table. We were very skeptical about the quality of the food so we decided to order their Chicken Quesadilla with avocado and light cheese to share. The service was quick and accurate with our order. Due to us being skeptical we planned to just have a proper lunch elsewhere, but that all changed the moment we both took our first bite. Immediately we looked at each other and knew we had to order a second plate of this Chicken Quesadilla. We immediately called over the lady and asked for a second plate. The place was very well decorated, we especially liked the glass shelf casing with the comics. We noticed many locals began to enter and they seemed to be on top of getting everyone situated nicely. We went in not expecting much and ended up leaving very shocked and satisfied. If you're ever passing by Ozona please do yourself a favor a stop by here. Truly some good Tex-Mex as they say.

We wanted a sit down place to stop and take a break, plus be served. You can miss this place. A bright yellow building, many cars out front and notably a hub for hungry people! Came in about 45 minutes before they closed. Service was nice and efficient with a humble, friendly atmosphere. Complementary chips served in a bowl, with an unusual warm salsa to start. My husband & I both got the chicken enchiladas, The chicken was in small chunks and was moist, but the cheese inside made it even better. Could have been a homemade queso? It was creamy and delicious. The rice and beans were piping hot and the enchiladas bubbling when presented. Flavors more of a Sonoran style, but very good. The prices were fair for what they offer. However, we got a side of pico ' it came in a small 2 oz container that wasn't full for $2. Menu doesn't have combo options which was kinda disappointing, but overall we were happy with this little spot we stopped!

A pleasant foodie surprise in San Angelo!…read more I had to come into San Angelo for work and going into the trip, I was not too excited about my food options available to me as a vegetarian...but I did find Buttercup online and it seemed close enough to those "hip, city coffee shops", meaning I should be able to get some decent food! Unfortunately, a lot of their hot sandwich options were off the table since they seemed to have a broken toaster, but I was able to order a hummus veggie sandwich that came with seasoned potato chips, a side salad, and a stick of chocolate. I also got a vanilla cake bite (pop without the stick) and everything was about $18 with tip. I didn't feel like trying any of the drinks, but some of the coffee flavors sounded interesting and they have seasonal flavors too. The ambiance is inviting, and definitely feels like a cozy place for the community to come hang. If you ever find yourself in this part of west Texas, definitely keep this spot in your back pocket for close to healthy eats!

The coffee options are plentiful and they do their own take on both custom and traditional coffee drinks. You will find all your caffeine needs here. They also have a good menu. It ranges from custom toasts to toasted bagels and even extensively crafted charcuterie boards. Service is friendly and knowledgeable and they have a drive thru if you are in a hurry. There are a few good coffee options in San Angelo and if you are in Buttercup's part of town, this is your stop.

On a road trip from Houston to Phoenix, I made a pit stop to get some gas. It made sense to get…read moresome food too, and Dairy Queen was right next to the gas station. So my decision was made. I used the drive through on a Saturday evening. Service (4/5): Since I used the drive through, rather than dining in (there's plenty of parking), service wasn't a big part of the experience. With that being said, I was greeted almost immediately upon pulling up, once I asked for a few minutes, I received a polite response, and my order came out as it should have. All in all, the lady taking my order did a great job. Which isn't always the case, as we know some fast food workers don't care at all about their jobs. This wasn't the case here. Ketchup and napkins included without asking. Ambiance (N/A): I mean it's fast food, so you know, not really a romantic spot. But, even when at a fast food joint, you want it to be clean. Since I didn't go inside, I can't talk about how things are here. Drinks (N/A): I didn't order a drink, but if you're at Dairy Queen, a milkshake is the way to go. Food (2.5/5): Some good and some bad here. I'll start with the food. My food was piping hot, which means it was freshly fried rather than sitting under a heat lamp for a while. This is always a nice touch at a fast food restaurant, and not by any means guaranteed. I went with the chicken fried steak fingers basket which comes with Texas toast, fries, and warm white gravy. Props to Dairy Queen for a Texas classic, chicken fried steak, in fingers form. You can choose between four or six fingers. I went with six. Which is a lot. I was stuffed after consuming this meal. The steak fingers are also quite heavy, so I wasn't feeling great afterwards. But hey, it did what I wanted. Filled me up while I was on the road. Dairy Queen isn't in the upper echelon of fast food joints in my mind, but I will give it mid-tier status. While I didn't get any ice cream while I was there, given that I had dessert earlier that day, it's what they're known for.
