Exit 365, as in how many days a year I LOVE ICE CREAM! It never fails for a delightful blended ice cream treat on-the-go (turn it upside-down for quality check!) today's pick is a BUTTERFINGER BLIZZARD. Tomorrow we could try to CINNAMON TOAST CRUNCH Dipped Cone. Ask WESLEY for his recs! read more

Dairy Queen - A short walk away - better with something COOL! - Burgers Near Me - Ozona, Texas

On a road trip from Houston to Phoenix, I made a pit stop to get some gas. It made sense to get some food too, and Dairy Queen was right next to the gas station. So my decision was made. I used the drive through on a Saturday evening. Service (4/5): Since I used the drive through, rather than dining in (there's plenty of parking), service wasn't a big part of the experience. With that being said, I was greeted almost immediately upon pulling up, once I asked for a few minutes, I received a polite response, and my order came out as it should have. All in all, the lady taking my order did a great job. Which isn't always the case, as we know some fast food workers don't care at all about their jobs. This wasn't the case here. Ketchup and napkins included without asking. Ambiance (N/A): I mean it's fast food, so you know, not really a romantic spot. But, even when at a fast food joint, you want it to be clean. Since I didn't go inside, I can't talk about how things are here. Drinks (N/A): I didn't order a drink, but if you're at Dairy Queen, a milkshake is the way to go. Food (2.5/5): Some good and some bad here. I'll start with the food. My food was piping hot, which means it was freshly fried rather than sitting under a heat lamp for a while. This is always a nice touch at a fast food restaurant, and not by any means guaranteed. I went with the chicken fried steak fingers basket which comes with Texas toast, fries, and warm white gravy. Props to Dairy Queen for a Texas classic, chicken fried steak, in fingers form. You can choose between four or six fingers. I went with six. Which is a lot. I was stuffed after consuming this meal. The steak fingers are also quite heavy, so I wasn't feeling great afterwards. But hey, it did what I wanted. Filled me up while I was on the road. Dairy Queen isn't in the upper echelon of fast food joints in my mind, but I will give it mid-tier status. While I didn't get any ice cream while I was there, given that I had dessert earlier that day, it's what they're known for. read more

Friendly efficient service (Angelina), great food and very clean restaurant including restroom. I ordered their tacos and a chocolate malt and my husband, chicken sandwich and a chocolate shake. There is lovely treelined outdoor eating area where we enjoyed our meals. You will not be disappointed. read more

Passing through this town and couldn't go driving around to find any place else to eat because I was hauling a big trailer. Staying at the Holiday Inn one block away, so I decided to walk over here and pick up some food. The hamburger was great. They made it exactly how I wanted them. The fries were good and the strawberry blizzard was amazing. The issue was that they were rather slow and I did ask for dipping sauces and ketchup, but they forgot him along with no napkins. Double check your bag before you walk out read more

I don't really think of DQ when looking for a meal. Soft serve, of course. The DQ in Ozona, TX made me a wonderful bacon cheeseburger. In my top 5 for sure. The restaurant and restrooms were clean, the staff friendly, and easy on and off interstate 10. Give it a try, you'll be happy you did. read more

Always a good experience here. Have been many times. Food quality is great; better in comparison to other DQ's. Service is always reasonably quick and employees are courteous. It's tidy inside. read more

at first I thought it was pretty nice, i came to texas to visit my grandma and now we were leaving to get food otw home. When I came here their service seemed pretty good until it came to them handing us our food.. they forgot a drink and then one of our kids meals. Then when we were trying to let them know then we experienced the workers running around and playing tag. read more

If I could give it negative stars, I would! Service sucked & the food was worse. Beef was grey & barely there. Bun was at least a month past it's prime. Next time I'll keep driving. #roadtrip read more

We stop here pretty regularly since it's convenient off the interstate. The tables could have used a wipe down the benches too but it wasn't too bad. They have a nice outdoor court yard eating area with lots of shade. We first ordered two of the new spicy tender meals, they were really good and the chicken was very hot. The quality was decent. I had one strip that wasn't so great but I was happy with them spice level. After we ate our meals we went back up to order a blizzard. The lady who took our order both times seemed friendly enough at first but we noticed she had made a mistake with an older gentleman's order ahead of us. We didn't have any order issues with our food. However when we went back for the cream I asked her what ingredients were in a tropical and Hawaiian blizzard. Her response to me was "I have no idea I don't eat those things" I'm like ohh kay...so she asks another lady who also has no idea...but in her defense it was only her second day I think she said. They ask a third person who finally tells them. I'm like geez forget it just give me an M&M blizzard with extra chocolate please. She then proceeds to ask me what do I mean by chocolate because she wants to get my order correct and she doesn't eat this stuff she says again. She says do I want chocolate m&ms or what kind of chocolate. I ask what she means by chocolate M&Ms, I just want regular ones with extra chocolate that it's already made with.. the chocolate syrup. I do have to say though...The guy making the blizzards did an awesome job! It was perfectly mixed and delicious, it wasn't messy, it didn't have to much or too little. We will be back but that was ridiculous. I don't care what you do or don't eat, but I do expect that you are educated about the product that you are selling or at least be courteous while you find out. read more

The only previous experience I've ever had in Ozona TX was at the inexcusable freak show of a gas station down the road. It was gross and weird and for the bold and unwise looked like it could be very dangerous. So, lacking any other information, I'd been a bit soured on the whole town. But today after leaving our temporary TX digs dark and very early, I discovered I'd abandoned my beautifully chilled, perfectly personalized coffee sitting, sad and unloved in my aunt's fridge. Unable to endure a 14 hour drive without a generous dose of caffeine we swung by DQ. Oh sweet, sweet DQ. My $5 milkshake masquerading as a coffee drink was just what I needed. And it was so enticing that I hadn't made it out of the store before both my girls decided they needed one too. So, caffeinated, milk shaked and much happier, we jumped back in the car, heading for Tucson. read more

The place looked very nice, I had high hopes for it because it looked better than how my hometown one looks. It was nice and all until it came to my food. They messed up my order and forgot some things like my drink and a kids meal. Workers were very unprofessional, running around and putting the elderly man trying to walk out of the gate at risk. read more

Stopping in for some ice cream at the Ozona, Texas Dairy Queen. First thing that I noticed was the royal pride award for having outstanding level of cleanliness and food safety, which is one of my things! The restaurant was fairly busy for this late in the evening. The drive-through had a line, but the team was working quickly to keep everyone moving. We happen to come inside and were greeted very pleasantly. Our server at the counter did a nice job. She was apparently new and still trying to figure out some of the codes in the computer. We received our food with a nice presentation and very quickly. We were able to enjoy our desserts in the outside seating area during a very pleasant evening. Recommend this location if you're looking for some fast food, or just an old fashion, dairy cream, dessert! read more

I was in search for a place that had restrooms as I was still in route to my destination. I ended up at Dairy Queen in Ozona, TX. I was also pretty hungry at the time. Got myself a Grilled Chicken Sandwich with no sauce. Chicken was good, but I didn't care for the loose lettuce. It's like you taking a bite and lettuce is falling off onto your lap LOL. I prefer the whole leafy type for a better eating experience. I asked for no sauce and I got sauce... oh well. I also really wanted to get their ice cream shake, too, but since I was still driving a long distance, I didn't get it because I didn't want to have any stomach troubles along the way. Staff was nice and pleasant. Prices were okay. Restaurant was clean. They also had a frig with cakes and stuff. Now that I think about it, I don't recall going into a DQ restaurant in CA ever except in a mall... I'll have to find one to visit one of these days (you know I will LOL). Happy DQ'ing! read more

It was a Sunday and DQ was one of a few places open so there were not a lot of choices in Ozona. The country chicken strip baskets with gravy were the only thing that redeemed this place. But other than that there were flies flying around and dead in window sills hanging out while you eat. DQ should invest in an exterminator. I realize the place was busy, but there were a total of five drive thru and front counter employees and one of them should've cleaned the disgusting bathrooms. read more

regularly stop at this location on my travels. Staff is always pleasant and lobby always well stocked and kept clean. has nice outside patio to enjoy with several picnic style tables. Not the best Dairy Queen I've been to but it was okay. The girl taking our order seemed new because she asked for it about 3 times. Then we had to wait because we ordered blizzards and their machine wasn't freezing the ice cream. Lastly the fries were not that hot. We were driving through on a road trip, however I'd probably stop in a different town for DQ next time. read more

Nasty, unclean. We stood at counter and after a couple of minutes had to ask if any of the 4 employees we saw worked the counter as we were just passing through and needed lunch. The young man at the window pleasantly took our order. The food was typical DQ quality. Just have training issues at this location. Pictured is a mess that was seen by what I assume is the manager as he walked passed it, saw it and just kept walking. read more

Front desk employee, guy, AJ, seriously rude. First, I asked for a banana split, he said they couldnt make it at the moment, which is the reason I stopped here first of all. Ok, asked for a sundae, hand him a $50 bill, no change he said, fine, handle him a $20 bill, gave me attitude. I asked for reason banana split wasn't able to be made, he didnt give me a reason, just said no reason and walked away. And to top it off, he made cone order wrong! Cheeez! And this is why im giving a 1 star. Train workers customer service! read more

This place is ok for desserts. Do not order anything that requires heat, they will make you wait and still get your order wrong.

Taking a step back in time, an exit off the freeway, a quick pause on our long road trip... getting a soft serve cone definitely brings a smile to all of us! DQ cones were a refreshing fun 5 star afternoon snack! Thanks DQ for your consistent & affordable treats! Sadly... Dropped a star for service. Just smile and always always say thank you ... read more

Friendly. The staff here was super friendly, and all of them tried to be helpful even if they didn't know the answer. All I ordered was a medium chocolate dipped cone... you can ask them to dip it twice, which I did. The chocolate came out super thick and tasty. I used the restroom and it was clean enough especially given the area and right off of the freeway. They have a large patio seating area where you can bring your pets! read more

It's Dairy Queen.... Hard to mess up. The food was as expected. We stopped here in Ozona on our way to Odessa. This has to be the spot in Ozona on a Friday night because it was packed. We stopped here on our drive from San Antonio, the location was not the cleanest but also not dirty. The staff was friendly and food tasted fresh. Everything came out hot and correct. The bathroom didn't have paper towels which would be the only complaint read more

Clean... Efficient ... And as always delicious food. Got the number 10 the dude meal. Great southern style chicken fried steak sandwich. Great local spot to relax before hitting the road. read more

Straight to the point. Why 4 stars ? 1. Clean restaurant inside and the bathrooms were as well. 2. Staff was extremely polite. 3. Food came out as ordered: fresh and correct. 4. Other than a Sonic's nearby, it's the only major fast food chain in the area that was open around 330pm. So why not a 5 stars? Come on. It's certainly not the must eat spot when traveling through Sonora. So if the reasons for stopping checks off your requirements this may be the place for you as well. It's too bad that many fast food chains receive a lot of bad reviews for not meeting standards. From my experience here they've meet them. Hopefully they'll do the same for your visit. Cheers! read more

Charged $2.36 for a cup of water with a milkshake at the drive thru refused and got a refund!

We came here on our way back to college station and honestly I wasn't expecting much. But the place is nicely clean and pretty well kept and the food was pretty good for a place out here I would come here read more

The staff was friendly and the food was fresh, hot, and decent at best (alright on my judging scale). There were several teenage kids in the dining area as they must have been on lunch from school, but they were all well mannered. So why the minus two stars ?? There were a few flies which are not a big deal, but I did spot a few dead roaches. One was squished right in front of the cake freezer. Also, some of the tables and benches needed to be wiped down but instead several of the workers were just standing around doing nothing. Keeping busy is the key to keeping a clean dining room. read more

For years I have been stopping at this Dairy Queen when traveling on I-10. Usually when I stop here there's always a big crowd. I'm assuming they are short staffed, but that didn't stop them from getting our orders in and out quickly. A big shout out to the employees for the good service. read more

Dairy Queen locations can usually be put into one of two categories. They are either old, run down and along the interstate or brand new fancy pants locations. I tend to prefer the older locations and this one in Ozona just so happens to be an old one. I'm going to give you a pro tip for handling even the longest of road trips. Get yourself a blizzard. You'll likely start seeing the signs for the DQ miles and miles from the actual location. Those signs give you something to look forward to. Once you reach the DQ, pick one of their many different flavors and get yourself a treat. Tired? One handed eating of a blizzard is 78.43% guaranteed to wake you up. Hungry? 65.98% guaranteed to satiate your hunger Hate clean clothes? 36.19% guaranteed to spill on your shirt or pants. This particular location fit all of the above on my road trip across the country. Service was friendly, but not prompt. DQ never is because it takes a while to make ice creamy goodness. Our blizzards were pretty darn tasty and a great break from the monotony of the road. If you're travelling through West Texas, look for the signs, and stop here. read more

After reading the reviews, I was extremely worried about eating here. HOWEVER, that's why everyone has their own opinion!!! My grandparents and I stopped in at 6:30 on a Sunday evening. It was fairly busy. We received our order within five minutes. Actually, less than five. Granted, my grandmother and I had the tacos and my grandfather ordered a large fries and ice cream cone. The tacos were absolutely fantastic! I can't explain how great they were. You will not go wrong ordering the tacos. The fries were great: fresh and cooked in clean grease (which I'm extremely picky about). Yes, they have young, high school kids working, but what do you expect for fast food? They were well-mannered and very attentive. I have absolutely NO complaints. Disregard the negative reviews and give it a try! read more

First impression was good. It looked clean, restroom was decent and friendly service. However, as I was sitting and eating my meal I noticed a huge cockroach on the floor running towards me! I got up and moved to another booth because the roach ran up the wall and under the booth where my legs were. 10 minutes later, I look down and there was a huge ant walking across my tray of food (maybe came from the window sill next to me??). I looked at the window and noticed the sill was covered in dead flies and insect debris. As I said, initially all else looked clean but the amount of insect activity concerned me. I took my ice cream and sat outside on the patio, which was very nice and I had no insect harassment! read more
