My wife and I ordered two value meals, sat there for 30 minutes, and they still hadn't brought us our food. Went up to the counter to ask wtf was going on, and they hadn't even dropped steak fingers in the fryer yet while my burger had been sitting there for almost a half hour. We asked for a refund, got it, and went to Whataburger. Never again. Oh, and the place itself was disgusting. My wife sent this to Dairy Queen corporate: Please do not go to either dq in town. The one on knickerbocker has the worst customer service. We waited over 5 mins for someone to come to the counter to take our order but nobody came and they looked right at us so they knew we were there. Weren't even busy. 3 people in the whole place. So we left and went to sherwood way dq. Great customer service there BUT they do not participate in the specials that are shown on TV. Pretty sad. Probably due to the franchisee not wanting to do that because of being greedy. Also I found hair in my gravy (see pic) that was pretty gross. Don't patronize these dq. It was a very clean environment, the only thing is large crowds over 6 tables are not welcome after 9pm. They close off the dining room because they don't want to clean it up when the doors close. Had one employee go lock the door at 930pm. Same employee removed all the soda fountain caps needed to dispense drinks and expected people to get splashed with soda water getting their drinks. Not a place to grab a burger, shake or food without feeling that the employees want you to leave so they can leave as well. Hours posted said " Open until 10pm. I decided to go back since the reno And it has improved. I got a nice "Hey, we are making your blizzards fresh so bear with us". I would wait 15 minutes if I had to with that kind of customer care. Some people are throwing out some pretty harsh ratings and I understand the frustration. Im not so trusting of my fellow humans... SO, every time I get drive thru I do two things: 1. I have them repeat order if they don't repeat it 2. I check the bag before leaving the property. People forget, people make mistakes. Mistakes can be fixed. Things I dont tolerate are bad attitudes and apathy when it comes to food preparation. I haven't had a bad burger, taco, steak fingers, or a bad anything from here. This is the only DQ we have and its the only one that raises money for the local Childrens Miracle Network. If its been a few months give it another go. I like DQ and have great memories associated with DQ. And this goes for anywhere you go eat.If you have something that may deviate from the standard preparation DON'T over estimate the abilities and memory of staff, over clarify, but be nice about it. Came by on a Friday night for a few blizzards for 4 people. Half of the blizzards were turned upside down and the other half weren't because they were already melted. Then we get halfway home and realize two blizzards were wrong. We returned to the restaurant and explained the situation. They didn't apologize and they were just acting goofy and yelling at each other while one person was trying to talk to us. They did however give us two new blizzards. But the journey caused the first four blizzards to be melted. They were extremely unprofessional but we were grateful that they provided new blizzards. The quality of the meat that is used in the hamburgers and tacos is very poor. The service is good. Using poor quality meat has caused my family to quit eating at Dairy Queen. This is true not just in San Angelo but other towns we eat in. One of these towns is Snyder, Texas. The blizzards are still very good but the meal food is not to our liking so we don't go to DQ. The advertised specials are promoted before they start causing us when we were still trying DQ to learn when we arrived at DQ that the special had not actually started. I went through the drive thru and the girl was incredibly rude that took my order I told her I needed a bit to look over the menu and the girl gave me maybe 30 seconds before saying "what do you want" then as I proceeded to order I asked for fries with both burgers I ordered and she said "with one or two"then repeated herself very rudely because I didn't understand her at first. I pulled up to the window and it wasn't the girl that took my order and I payed her, then she opened the window and said "10 minutes for fries" with a major attitude as well, Then proceeds to slam the window. About 1 minute later she might as well of thrown the bag at me and didn't say anything so I asked her if the fries were in there and she said "yeah" and tried to shut the window real fast as she did the other times before I could ask anything, Then I told her that when you work customer service there's a way you can speak to people that doesn't come off as demeaning or rude, then you tell me 10 minutes for fries and give me my food barely a minute later and get irritated when I ask if the fries were in there? Then she tells me she said 10 seconds when she absolutely didn't she just thought it was funny. She did apologize but it was just to shut us up. As someone who works in the food industry and in customer service, I know it's absolutely not difficult to act professionally and treat people with respect even if they're being difficult or rude but definitely when they're being nice and understanding up until the end. I need my chili cheeseburger fix on occasion and this place always delivers a great one. That's the only reason I come here. The store is usually moderately clean, but when they get really busy it can get a little messy, but that happens at a lot of places. I've never had a bad experience with the staff, they are friendly and most importantly, they get my order correct. Takes a really long time for any order. Steak fries are gross. Keep your receipt to ensure all of order received. Doesn't stink but doesn't not smell. Tables dirty.
