Staff put up all tables and chairs and forced us outside at 9:30

We had a very disappointing experience at one of our go-to places. We aren't from here but enjoy Marble Slab Creamery regularly. We were ecstatic to see a location in San Angelo while we were in town. I thought this would be a great family-friendly spot for an after-dinner dessert. An impolite and unwelcoming wait staff and an unpleasant smell greeted us. We purchased three ice creams, which were two regular, and a kid's cup. I later realized that I was charged for two regulars and a small. I decided to disregard the incident because mistakes happen. Around 9:30, other customers arrived and requested strawberry ice cream, which the employees informed them they were out for the evening, which is understandable. Still, they didn't offer assistance or accommodations for the guests. At this point, my family and I were attempting to sit at the table while the employees continued stacking chairs. While we were sitting down, the staff was giving very ill-mannered and dirty looks. I chose to disregard their behavior and attempt to finish my ice cream since I paid a premium. The staff then informed me that they needed my family and me to evacuate the building immediately because they needed to clean the floors at 9:33. I then responded politely. I said your business hours show to close at ten, and I would like to stay and finish my ice cream. The lady behind the counter then raised her voice in a threatening tone that we needed to leave so the floors could be cleaned. My family immediately got up and went in disbelief and discomfort at her threat. Their behavior caused my family and the other customers to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I included pictures with time stamps to represent what took place on the evening of April 7th, 2024.

This place was great ! I ordered the birthday cake icecream with cookie dough and caramel. Great combo and I would definitely order it again. Prices are standard about $6 or so for a regular cup. Service was fast and employees were helpful. I would definitely come again , Enjoy !

Got a cookie dough majestic shake because it looked fun! And btw, it's an $11 shake. While it was made to look pretty close to the advertisement they have in the store, the flavor was mediocre. It tasted somewhat like a vanilla shake, but also didn't have that much vanilla flavor. Definitely didn't taste like cookie dough either although it had little cookie dough balls at the top of the shake. I am still trying to figure out what it actually tasted like other than sugar and cream. It also took a long time to make, which is understandable since it's a party in a cup.

Last Sunday I took my daughters to the Marble Slab Creamery for a dessert date, and to meet up with some good friends and their adorable daughters. I was raised on Coldstone Creamery but I was still impressed this small town had a place that sold ice cream with unlimited "mix-ins"! To my good fortune, the day was also National Ice Cream day so when I asked if there was a military discount the store employee stated there was and that I would receive a free child's ice cream with any medium or large purchase: SCORREEEEEEEEEE! I was a little overwhelmed by the many selections so I asked him what his favorite ice cream combination was: big mistake. He recommended the "chocolate chip cookie dough" concoction and I wasn't very impressed with the end result which looked like a bowl of ice cream left out in the San Angelo sun on a 129 degree day---under a magnifying glass. The picture in front of me looked nothing like the small bowl of ice cream that I was getting ready to pay $5.49 for. It was a good thing the kid's ice cream was free (regularly $2.99), and I do appreciate that he allowed the girls to place half a scoop of their favorite ice cream into one small kid's container. The girls quickly ate their ice cream and when I asked if they wanted to try mine they simultaneously said "NO!" When and where do kids say "NO" to ice cream??? The establishment needed a good "Mr. Clean" scrubbing and the floor had seen much better days. I did my best to concentrate on my friends' company and not the messy view of dirty tables and crumbs all around me. Overall, I can say there are better ice cream options at the grocery store, but if you want the "unlimited mix-in's" then by all means pay a grip to eat your favorite ice cream here. I'd say until "next time", but there really won't be one at the Marble Slab Creamery for me; might as well be eating your ice cream outside on the dirty curb. Please hire a staff member just to keep the dining room area clean. Please ~

They just came out with the Majestic Shakes. It is on the secret menu. Just ask for it, because it is brand new and not on the menu yet. Be hungry when you order it. I think it would be cool to order a round of these for a birthday party.

Customer service could improve. Cookies are delicious, but a little pricey. A decent variety for both cookies and ice cream.

Not better than cold stone. Less of a selection than cold stone. Ice cream wasn't that flavorful compared to other places.

A pleasant foodie surprise in San Angelo!…read more I had to come into San Angelo for work and going into the trip, I was not too excited about my food options available to me as a vegetarian...but I did find Buttercup online and it seemed close enough to those "hip, city coffee shops", meaning I should be able to get some decent food! Unfortunately, a lot of their hot sandwich options were off the table since they seemed to have a broken toaster, but I was able to order a hummus veggie sandwich that came with seasoned potato chips, a side salad, and a stick of chocolate. I also got a vanilla cake bite (pop without the stick) and everything was about $18 with tip. I didn't feel like trying any of the drinks, but some of the coffee flavors sounded interesting and they have seasonal flavors too. The ambiance is inviting, and definitely feels like a cozy place for the community to come hang. If you ever find yourself in this part of west Texas, definitely keep this spot in your back pocket for close to healthy eats!

Love visiting Buttercup. The vibe in the shop is welcoming and calming. Like any good coffee shop,…read moreit makes you want to stay. The coffee options are plentiful and they do their own take on both custom and traditional coffee drinks. You will find all your caffeine needs here. They also have a good menu. It ranges from custom toasts to toasted bagels and even extensively crafted charcuterie boards. Service is friendly and knowledgeable and they have a drive thru if you are in a hurry. There are a few good coffee options in San Angelo and if you are in Buttercup's part of town, this is your stop.

"TACO TUESDAY at a BURGER JOINT" When you think of Taco…read moreTuesday, you think of having a Taco at a Mexican Restaurant, and that's a good thing because Tacos at any Mexican Restaurant are always a good sign. Well, people, one does not have to go to a Mexican Restaurant to enjoy a Taco on Taco Tuesday. There is another place that offers Tacos, but not your ordinary Taco. It's their "Steak Tacos" that are for a limited time only. It's "Freddy's Steakburgers" (& Frozen Custard). I have been to Freddy's and enjoyed their Double Steakburger with Cheese, but my Lovely Wife has not. Taco Tuesday is the perfect day for that. Here is how it went when we arrived. Freddy's came to mind when I saw a Foodie Friend, Mike Bendiksen's video of his review of Freddy's Steakburger Tacos. Nicely done, Mike. Pulled in just past 5 pm, and lots of cars/trucks are here. Walked in, and no one was at the counter ordering, just us. Checked out the Menu board overhead and didn't see the Tacos. Noticed a sign on the counter promoting them, and they look pretty good. Nancy is ordering first, and she is going with their "Senior Cheeseburger" Combo. Single SmashSteakburger with Cheese, Mustard, Onion & Pickle. Comes with French Fries, which are Skinny Fries (and I love them), and a Small Drink. I enquired about the size of their Tacos. Aleanna, who is taking our order, stated they are about the size of his hand. Their Tacos are a Smashburger Taco made with a Steakburger Patty, with American Cheese on a Grilled Tortilla with Lettuce & Jalapeno Fry Sauce. I asked for a Double-Smashburger Taco, two of them. Aleanna said he didn't think they came that way, but will check. His boss came over and said that they only come one way, as a Single Smashburger. I then asked for Two Steakburger Tacos, both with extra Pepper Jack Cheese and Cheddar Cheese. He seemed confused about the extra Cheese, and replied back, with extra Pepper Jack Cheese. I then stated No, with extra Pepper Jack Cheese 'and' Cheddar Cheese. (let me explain, before we left the house, I checked on-line at this location, and there is an extra charge for the combo of Pepper Jack Cheese and Cheddar Cheese, and there are many add-ons to these Tacos for an extra charge). He wanted to know if this replaces the American Cheese, and I said, No, it's added-on. I then ordered a medium drink. Orders are in and paid for. We filled our drinks, a Diet Coke for my Wife and a Diet Dr Pepper for me. Located a table away from the crying baby (don't you just love it when this happens). Soon they called out our number and my Wife picked up the tray. Both of my Steakburger Tacos are filled to the top with lots of Lettuce, and the Tortilla is nicely grilled. Took my first bite, and this is a pretty good Taco. The second bite was better because their Jalapeno Fry Sauce was there, and it has a nice Spice kick. The Smashburger itself is seasoned very well, but it is very thin - and I mean "thin". It would seem that 10 of these patties would equal a quarter pound. Lots of Jalapeno Fry Sauce is hidden inside the lettuce, making this Thin Smashburger Taco heavy, and adding a lot of flavor - nicely done. I also did not receive any Cheddar Cheese on either Taco, just the Pepper Jack. They apparently did not know how to do that. Overall, this Single Smashburger-Steakburger Taco is good, but with the patty being so thin, they should call this one a "Newspaper Smashburger Taco". My Wife enjoyed her Senior Cheeseburger, and also stated that the Patty is thin, and okay in taste. Their 'Skinny Fries' are delicious, with a nice crunch. She picked up one of their dipping sauces for the fries, and it's one of the best dipping sauces you will find. Nice flavor that goes very well with these fries. I also added some to one of my Tacos, and it is gooooooood. Some time back, as stated earlier in this review, I ate here before, and their Double Steakburger patties were thicker then than they are now. Don't know if this is true with all of Freddy's locations, but it is at this one. This location also needs to retrain their employees, including the Shift Supervisors, or whatever they are called, as to what they sell here and how they are made. Both of our order-taking guys had to go check to see if they do this for what I ordered. Maybe this is why when we drive by Freddy's, there are hardly any cars/trucks here. Anyway, when you are out-and-about sometime, check out a Freddy's and get yourself a couple of those Tacos while they last. And if they can, double-up on the Smashburger-Steakburger meat. Hopefully, they will know how to prepare yours.

We went through the Drive-thru. It was fast. The burger was tasty but a bit soggy. I'd try it…read moreagain, but this is not one of my top 3 burger joints.
