Is the ice cream good? Absolutely. Every scoop delivered. We went with the Espresso Bean Latte and Madagascar Vanilla...both smooth, flavorful, and exactly what you'd hope for on a hot day. With a wide variety of options, there's no shortage of flavors to suit just about anyone. At 91 degrees in San Angelo, it hit the spot perfectly. The shop itself has a cute, inviting ambience that adds to the experience. That said, the service left a lot to be desired. It felt rushed and impersonal...no warmth, no smiles, just a "get you through the line" kind of interaction. Not quite the friendly small-town vibe you might expect. Unfortunately, that lack of hospitality overshadows the positives, and it's enough to make us think twice about coming back, which is a real shame. read more

3/19/26 we walked down for after dinner desert. Our first time here and were pleasantly surprised with the flavors to select from. The staff of girls welcomed us as soon as we walked in and were helpful with recommendations. The shop was clean and inviting with both indoor and outdoor seating. It is a bit on the expensive side as we were warned so be prepared to spend a little. Our 2 cups with 3 scoops was just over $17.00. We weren't sure about the sizes since we've never been here before. Next time I will go for a cone with 1 or maybe 2 scoops. It looks as if everything is made fresh daily on site (I'm not 100% sure I'm correct on that). I debated on 4 or 5 stars and decided strictly on price deducting 1 star. Still not sure it's the right decision but hey, it's March 2026 and everything seems a little expensive, right? We will be back to support our neighborhood business. read more

Now it makes sense why this gem has almost 5 stars, honestly wondering why it doesn't! As soon as you open the door you're hit with the fresh smell of the perfect dessert, then you find out that the smell is freshly made waffle cones! This place is worth the hype, there are so many waffle cones flavors to choose from and their ice cream selection is devine! I got 2 scoops of cookie butter on a peanut butter cone which was amazing, I loved every bit. 2 scoops felt like I had ordered 4, the scoops are huge & the flavors were amazing but I wasn't able to finish it! A person at work has recommended The Latest Scoop to me when I come to town for work. I had never made it there before. This time, I tried it. I am so happy I did. I got 3 scoops -- it was a hot day, and 3 scoops of ice cream sounded reasonable for dessert. I think it was. I got their weekly chocolate, a vanilla, and sea salt caramel. The sea salt caramel and chocolate were my favorites. The guy serving the ice cream gave great descriptions, and I tried a few flavors in my quest to find the perfect combination. What a sweet little ice cream oasis. After discovering the devastating news online that we would not be able to get Slanging Dough in the morning (the guy is apparently doing chocolate now?? Why?? Sad!), we came here after dinner to get our sugar fix. The guy who helped us (nephew of the owner apparently) was so patient and welcoming. We decided to go all out and get the special homemade waffle cones. Our kiddo got a vanilla cone with cookies and cream that she loved. One of us got a pistachio cone with cookie butter (basically Biscoff) and Ghirardelli chocolate chunk. Good god, this ice cream is delicious!!! The texture and temperature were perfect and all the flavors really popped. The cones were nice and crispy, so you could tell that they hadn't been sitting out/getting stale. We also had the pecan cone with butter pecan and Scott's Smooth & Dreamy chocolate. So good, all of it. The space itself feels a bit clinical inside but the pics of the kids with ice cream on the wall are really cute. Also, is San Angelo's ewe-making art factory across the street??!?! We saw four ewes in the window!! Happy sigh. Anyway, we really liked this place and hope that it'll still be here the next time that we drive through. 4.5 stars, rounding up. read more

All the flavors my family has tried have been amazing. Thick and creamy and full of flavor. Our first visit we didn't know they did pup cups so we purchased single scoops of vanilla for each dog. But now we know they actually will give you a cup of whipped cream for your pup! We don't usually get ice cream too often, but we love seeing our dogs excited to visit places they know they will be getting a sweet treat. We walk in and no one greets us with a hello or a smile or anything, then when we were ordering the blonde girl seemed like she'd rather be anywhere than where she was. I got my ice cream and it tasted like the milk was spoiled when they made it. I went a second time to give them another try and the customer service was just as bad if not worse.
