A pleasant foodie surprise in San Angelo! I had to come into San Angelo for work and going into the trip, I was not too excited about my food options available to me as a vegetarian...but I did find Buttercup online and it seemed close enough to those "hip, city coffee shops", meaning I should be able to get some decent food! Unfortunately, a lot of their hot sandwich options were off the table since they seemed to have a broken toaster, but I was able to order a hummus veggie sandwich that came with seasoned potato chips, a side salad, and a stick of chocolate. I also got a vanilla cake bite (pop without the stick) and everything was about $18 with tip. I didn't feel like trying any of the drinks, but some of the coffee flavors sounded interesting and they have seasonal flavors too. The ambiance is inviting, and definitely feels like a cozy place for the community to come hang. If you ever find yourself in this part of west Texas, definitely keep this spot in your back pocket for close to healthy eats! read more

Love visiting Buttercup. The vibe in the shop is welcoming and calming. Like any good coffee shop, it makes you want to stay. The coffee options are plentiful and they do their own take on both custom and traditional coffee drinks. You will find all your caffeine needs here. They also have a good menu. It ranges from custom toasts to toasted bagels and even extensively crafted charcuterie boards. Service is friendly and knowledgeable and they have a drive thru if you are in a hurry. There are a few good coffee options in San Angelo and if you are in Buttercup's part of town, this is your stop. read more

I've been a few times and sadly every time they're out of many things. They also never know what they have or don't and often have to ask someone else what's available so you're just waiting with customers behind you. This time, not only were they out of various pastries but also out of cinnamon. As for coffee, you never know what you'll get. Sometimes a barista knows what they're doing and other times they're clueless. Their cold brew is only memorable because it's not great. Tried a regular cold brew with cream and even though I'm sensitive to caffeine, felt nothing. Coffee flavor didn't knock me off my feet or anything. It's sad when Starbucks is better. The blended Vietnamese coffee tastes more like a tablespoon of cold brew and the rest ice and milk. Unsatisfying unless you're just wanting some kind of sugar high but even then it wasn't that sweet for Vietnamese. The caramel cold brew was nothing special either. Loads of caramel, barely coffee. My friend didn't even drink hers and I ended up drinking it because I had barely any sleep the night before and needed to drive. It didn't provide a boost of energy at all. The muffins? I remember eating them but their flavors are missing. Nothing better than a dry convenience store or donut shop muffin. They crumbled. I finished mine just to have something in my stomach before the drive. The place is clean at least, welcoming in some ways but not much seating. Parking is a bit of a pain too. If you want a good roast and coffee flavor with good food, I'd head somewhere else. Angelo has plenty of awesome brews. It's just not going to be found here. Many college students go here for the sugar but don't seem to know what a real brew is. If you're also a coffee snob, you'll get it. read more

This unique spot is a San Angelo gem. Unique contemporary decor with an artistic flair. Art photos were displayed throughout the space. Service is professional, kind, and knowledgeable. Then there's the drinks! We all loved them. I had indigo tea which was light, flavorful, and calming. Most everyone else in our party had some type of coffee and everyone was very happy with their drink. I highly recommend Buttercup. read more

I'm so bummed out, the adorable coffee shop I love is so cute and I want to give 5 stars, but my $12 chicken Salad isn't worthy probably of the 4 stars even. It was so small, (supposed to be double scoop) and it was nothing special tasted like it came out of the heb containers. (Which are delicious) but I was hoping for something new. My inside experience about a month ago was awesome but todays drive thru experience just lacked customer service and the price didn't make since , an iced coffee and chicken salad no salad just chicken mix, $17.00 not including the tip, maybe It's just the price inflations but the amount of food received for the price disappointed me. And just didn't amaze me. And my coffee was alright but I said 1-2 squirts sweetener and it was the sweetest coffee id had in a long time. Okay so rolling up right before 0700, the first thing I noticed was the bright and cheery ambiance even before I walked in. When I walked in, the bops were on point and the folks working welcoming and cheery, explaining not just the drinks to me but the rewards as well. I ordered a nitro cold brew with lavender and honest because I love the floral and the sweet... especially in my coffee. The menu options are superb with a wide variety of delicious caffeinated beverages and beyond; I'll have to come back for some of the eats and evening brews on tap. Portion size was very small. I didn't know they served kids meals? The salad had no love, and the sandwich as well. It's was very sad and telling me to take it easy when I ate it. The place is still nice. Clean, and cozy. They brought the food to me whilst I watch the cars pass by sitting outside. I decide to be nice and bring the dinner ware back inside for them, and I got blank faces. As if zombies weren't interested in eating me? The price was too high for the chicken salad sandwich. Cutest little bistro style coffee shop! I love the decor and the vibes that you see & feel the moment that you come into Buttercup. The staff are so friendly and greet you as you enter and help with recommendations on food & beverages. We got an iced dirty chai and a macchiato and both were super yummy and well made. We also tried two of their toast options and both were absolutely amazing. I wanted to order more I enjoyed them so much but we have other food plans so I held back. Highly recommend stopping in here if you're in the area! Only downside is there is limited parking so during busy times that could be an issue but we came early morning and had no issues parking. read more

Way overdue Yelp review! I did a formal blog post review of this place months ago not long after they opened up. I have since had their coffee, cold brew, nitro cold brew, Vietnamese latte, and wine by the glass since that first review. I have yet to find any reason NOT to come back here. I have yet to try the food items they now as well which span, salads, overnight oats, fruit/veggie detox smoothies, charccuterie boards, sandwiches, local baked goods, and craft beer! They got it all going on on here including stellar staff and the kindest owners one could ever meet anywhere let alone a small little neighborhood coffee/cafe. The space itself is a converted car wash station! They did well to make this a modern, clean, open and inviting place for all the locals to come hang out, study, read, or just chill out. They have free, fast wifi connections, ample seats and tables inside and outside. Prime location with adjacent parking as well. You gotta stop in here and say hello to couple-owners Daniel and Jessie. They put a smile on my face each time and will for you to, just wait and see. read more

The workers there were speaking very loudly about a customer that came in, taking about their weight and appearance. After that 10 minute conversation they continued to gossip about the people they work with. I understand ranting and needing to let our frustration but the way they spoke of people we just ugly.
