Today, I called in an iced coffee and told them I'd be there in about 5 mins. They told me they won't take a drink order over the phone and that they would make it once I arrived (perhaps knowing that the ice would melt and degrade the quality of the drink--I get it). I arrived and there were 2 parties in line in front of me. Altogether, after waiting for the customers before me and putting my order in, it took about 25 minutes from the time I called them to the time the drink was ready for pick-up. One would think a pick-up drink order would be prioritized, but no, they had me wait 20 minutes for them to complete all the lunch meals that were ahead of my call-in/pick-up drink order. Effective and proper business practice would be to prioritize a simple pick-up drink order and not make the customer wait for the time it takes to cook 6 full dishes for dine-in customers. To make things even spicier, I overhear them taking food orders over the phone 15 mins into my wait time.
