My wife animated just looking for a nice, non-pretentious coffee shop and we stumbled upon this place. I loved the look from the outside as it appeared as an old gas station. Inside was spotless and had several different coffee flavor options and a few muffin/bagel options along with Kolaches. My wife and I had never had one so I ordered one. When we received it we sat out out in the back courtyard and ate it along with blue berry muffins and drank our coffee. The courtyard was clean, comfortable and shady. What made this place special was the employees. All very kind with one woman, maybe the owner, taking a lot of time to explain what a Kolache was and the difference between a European kolache vs a Texas. So nice and kind. It was a litttl oasis with delicious coffee and great employees. read more

Now called Free Rein Coffee Co., this coffee shop has great branding with poor to mediocre tasting coffee. My iced vanilla latte was fine. My friend was really disappointed in the flavor of his dark chocolate mocha. He threw it away without drinking more than a few sips. I appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant, as well as proximity to the river walk. Service was fine - the coffee was started promptly, the coffee matched what we ordered, and the servers were distant but respectful. There were no food options here. While this location looks nice, I don't plan on coming back here for my coffee/breakfast. read more

This place must've had a name change to Free Rein Coffee Company. Such a cute little spot! Looks like an old garage, with ample parking and good coffee! The service was friendly and helpful. They also have a good amount of shirts, hats, mugs, whole bean and ground coffees for purchase. So glad I found this gem. read more

The coffee has a robust flavor. The establishment is small. So you have to order and go. They have their own blend of ground coffee. I bought the sunrise coffee. I love the fact that it has turmeric and cinnamon my two favorite ingredients. The employees are super nice and friendly. They will accommodate to customize your choice of specialty coffee. The place is clean but tiny. read more

Not only was the shop spotless and professional, but the coffee superb! I stopped in because of the excellent reviews not only for a hot cup to drink but some beans and was not disappointed. The Texas heat was a delicious and unique flavor, so delicious I bought a drink made with it and some beans to bring home to share with my husband. I was looking for something out of the ordinary and longhorn came through. A definite must stop in San Angelo! read more

Wow. Wow. Such a super cute coffee spot! The staff was super friendly and the best part is the coffee is made IN HOUSE! The roaster was so knowledgeable and very informative! They have a super cute small patio to sit on too! I highly recommend trying any of their blends! read more

Veteran owned and operated? Heck yeah! What a darling stopping point for some caffeine. A small batch roaster who actually took the time to show us their systems and how it's all done. Stopped here in April last year (sorry, yes I'm terribly behind in my reviews) with two other coworkers and a dog. A darling back yard/patio area for the doggos, chairs and tables and cute outdoor decor. Coffee was yummo and they have some tasty snacks as well. Would def return when my travels bring me back this way again! read more

Staff was extremely rude after they messed up our order. Was told to "just get out." Usually love this place, but bad experience today. read more

One of the coolest behind-the-scenes vertically integrated coffee biz tours I've had. Besides enjoying some delicious coffee for months now at this location, it's a cool little tour also. Got to try the cinna-blend and the new high caffeine Venom coffee. Both are really good. Cinna-blend is my favorite of all their blends now! The best part of all? They are located 1 mile from my house! Scott and Laurie Deckers are the kindest couple-owners you could meet. Crystal the lead roaster is a true coffee bean/roasting genius if you ask me. Plus they have a truck on Goodfellow AFB serving coffee and baked goods 7m-2p weekdays! 10% military and police discount! Do not miss a peak at the back patio space they have also! read more

This shop sells fantastic coffee and is owned by a really nice couple. I came here on a weekday morning when half of the city was closed because of a water issue. Luckily Longhorn was in the unaffected part of city and was using bottled water to make drinks. The shop itself is on the smaller side but has an outdoor patio for when it is warm. The inside of the shop is decorated with cowhides on the floor and tables, and lots of cute Texas styles touches. I ordered a vanilla latte and thought it was perfect. They also let us sample some of their drip coffees to help us decide what bags of coffee we wanted to purchase from their retail section. I went with the Texas heat which was a medium roast with cayenne, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Trust me it is delicious! While we were browsing/hanging out the owners also let us check out their roaster in the back and see their k cups being packaged up. This was really neat! They said they ship their coffee and them seem to be pretty popular. If in San Angelo please stop and check them out. You won't be disappointed. read more

I am giving this place a 4 star even though I'm not sure how good the coffee is! The space is awesome and fairly close to Fort Concho and The Bordello Museum (both of these are worth the visit!). The staff is genuinely interested in getting your coffee right. I did order a Breve Latte and no one knew what that was. They did a decent try in making it but, when it cooled down enough to drink I realized it wasn't close. This place will keep getting better and better, I am certain. read more

No longer affordable under the new name. Will always consider it the best coffee but to downsize 4 oz and go up $8 per bag is ridiculous. Off to find a new morning brew read more

We stopped by because I was looking for a good cup of coffee while traveling to TX from IL. WOW! What an awesome find!!! Not only is the coffee incredible, it's low acidic and they don't use nasty chemicals like the chain places. You can definitely taste the difference!! Not only was the coffee incredible, the owners and staff were exceptional people. We chatted for some time and even got a lesson on roasting coffee. Can't rave enough! I bought several bags to take home and will be ordering more from them online. If you love coffee, this place is a must-stop!! read more

Best coffee ever. They offer a spicy coffee that is second to none, called Texas Heat. No one else even makes a spicy coffee. I didn't know I wanted it until I had it. Now I won't drink anything other coffee now. Great customer sevice! I live in Iowa, so I need to have it shipped. They always arrive on time. read more

Let me sample the different coffees before purchasing grounds and beans. A couple flavors have 2x and 3x the caffeine.

Such a cute little place to stop for a great cup of joe!Nice patio out back with sun, shade, and cacti. The owner was lovely and super friendly, plus gave us samples! And even had a little doggo named Ruby who loved all of the belly scratches. Recommend the unique spiced ice coffee read more

LongHorn Coffee - the outside of the building - Coffee Roasteries Near Me - San Angelo, Texas

We enjoy the LongHorn roasts and we often buy it and make it at home. Decided to stop in and that unfortunately was a mistake. I got a Desert Sunrise and my wife got another specialty drink. Both of ours were bitter. I think the lady making mine forgot to put anything in it and I was just handed bitter iced coffee. Not sure we'd make the trip out again with all the options we have in San Angelo. read more

We were so glad to find a local coffee shop for times when we are visiting family in San Angelo. They were very nice and let us try a couple of options before ordering. The coffee was strong but not bitter and they had a variety of options for all kinds of coffee lovers. We will for sure be back! What a great find. read more

Spectacular coffee and fabulous service! Do yourself a favor and stop in. You will not be disappointed.

If you are looking for REAL coffee this is the place. COFFEE IS AMAZING! Roasted in house without artificial ingredients! They are cheaper than Starbucks or any big name coffee shop. Drinks can be made to order and there is a lovely patio to enjoy as well. The staff are friendly and remember their regulars! Veteran owned and operated. Take a tour of roasters while you're there! read more

This coffee shop/roaster is amazing, best in San Angelo without a doubt! To be honest it's actually the best in Texas period! I'm from Oregon and we take 2 things very serious up there in the Pacific Northwest, coffee and craft beer. If you're considering going, DO IT! Trust me. The only bad thing is that after doing so, you're going to hate Starbucks and all the other coffee you normally have lol. Their coffee is amazingly smooth and acid free, no cream or sugar needed. Plus it was an amazing learning experience too. Can't wait to go back! read more

Great coffee with a great price! Anytime I can get some coffee on my day off it's where I go...even better my son LOVES their coffee!!

My husband and I stopped here on our way through Texas. This was a cute local find! The husband and wife were very friendly and a pleasure to talk with. We bought yummy drinks and also some of their locally processed coffee beans to take home with us! read more

Hand down the best coffee I've had in awhile. My husband and I even had a tour of how they roast the coffee beans and make the k-cups.

I love the service, the people, and the unique coffee! I was so happy to find out there coffee is low acid! To top it off the owner and workers really care about all their customers and work to find you your favorite brew. Hands down the best coffee place! read more

We first picked up the three pack from Pinkies over two years ago. Having found a small number of brands we prefer, i'll admit that the choice to buy was initially on packaging alone. I saw the snakebite and grabbed it without question. The dark, medium and light roasts are all great, and easy to drink. Small batch roasts, locally owned company, and a solid cup of coffee makes a win for everybody. Everytime I've visited the storefront, they're so friendly and welcoming. I'll also recommend their new Texas Heat blend. The flavors are great, and you can pick out every one with every sip. read more
