Texas Road House is known for having a great steak for a great price! Aside from that, fresh beer and excellent service. I came to this one for that reasons. I wanted a quick-good steak, fresh draft beer, and good service. The ambiance is mostly the same through most of this chains. So you can expect about the same. This one had two amazing surprises for me. One: My Waiter was a special needs waiter. He was mute. To tell you how happy I was to see that Texas RoadHouse hires and gives a chance to EVERYONE, gives me hope for humanity. Our waiter was excellent. Though he could not verbally communicate with us WE HAD NO ISSUE expressing our order and he had no issue comprehending us. I loved it! I was so happy to see that Texas Roadhouse gives ALL a chance. Just for this reason alone they (and this particular location) deserve 5-Stars. Two: Aside from that, I also had a chance to witness something wonderful. A family, adjacent to our table, was celebrating the adoption of a young boy. The restaurant's manager came over their table and brought a horse saddle and had the boy seat on it and wave a rolled up cloth napkins around and around. They presented the boy to the restaurant and people cheered. It was that boy's celebration for being adopted by a loving and wonderful family. Everyone should have the opportunity to belong to a loving family and this boy just got his chance. Amazing! I'm glad I had a chance to witness this. Regarding the rest of the visit: 1) This one location was extremely busy, as are most. We were sat waiting 15-20min. 2) Food was excellent. My steak came out perfect. 3) Service was excellent. Server was attentive and friendly. Overall, I will return to this location when in town.

Let start off by saying I was very disappointed. This place did not live up to the hype. I ordered the following: Rib eye 12oz. -loaded potato -chili Rib eye 12oz. -rice -baked potato NY steak 8oz. -mashed potato w/gravy -steamed broccoli Country fried chicken -Mac & cheese -mashed potato w/gravy Buffalo boneless wings app Andy's sirloin steak w/fries chicken tenders w/fries Grilled chicken w/mashed potato Service was Horrible! The young lady that was our waitress was clearly focused and adamant on serving her friends that were there than catering to us paying customers. She didn't bring our food when it was ready and it sat on the counter for 20 minutes before she finally realized it and it was cold and looks like some of the food fell off the plate. She tried but just too distracted. This and the taste and quality of the food was the reason I did not like this place. The ambiance was more so like you regular or chili's, nothing amazing that stood out. Never going to visit this place again. So disappointed. DO BETTER. The food...sucked major big ones, I don't even know where to start...quality tasted like it was sitting in the back for weeks, amount was for toddlers, and plates and spoons and cleanliness was GARBAGE! It was so bad, I had to stop at McDonald's to grab food for my family. DO BETTER TR!

TXRH store #9 in USA I've now been to!

Still holds my top spot for chain based steak house in the USA. This was my 10th store visit in the world and 9th in the USA. Always consistent no matter where I find a TXRH which I love about the franchise. Never had a bad meal at any site in any state. Menu here similar to most others, also a plus, no surprises or missing items. Love the western, Texas vibe this, and all stores have going on as well. Little escape from wherever to TX, even in this case, when you're actually in TX! A first for me! The double chop dinner with plain sweet tater and veggies or the 16 oz sirloin with the same side items has been my go-to order for take out, pick up orders here so far. On the money, spot on each time so far. Always ready to go the second I walk in, no waiting. The app makes online orders a snap as well. I have yet to dine in for real and see how this place compares to the other 8 US stores I have been to before. I have good reason it will hold up darn well on all fronts.

I know you know yesterday was Valentine's Day, and it's a good day to take your "Better Half" (and…read moreyou know that's true) out for Dinner at one of her favorite places. "The Grill". That also sounds really good to me. We know The Grill will be busy, especially since Valentine's Day falls on a Saturday, so we left earlier than normal. Arrived, and a good number of cars were parked all around. Walked in, and the place is packed, with every bar stool and table taken. The Hostess said it will only be a few minutes for your table. In a couple of minutes, a table was available. After we were seated, more people arrived, but they also only had to wait a couple of minutes. The Grill has two bartenders working along with several servers, and a couple of employees cleaning up the tables when they become available. Our Server is Sophia, and she took our drink order. Two Jack-N-Cokes and waters. While we waited for our drinks, we looked over the menu. We kind of already know what we are going to order, and we did. My Wife is going with one of her usuals, their "Happy Hour Nachos" ($6.50), listed as 'Roasted Pork Nachos' on the main menu. Slow Roasted Pork, Chipotle Sauce, Tomatoes, Cilantro, Black Beans, Cheddar Cheese over lots of Fresh Chips with Green sliced Jalapenos on one side, and Red sliced Jalapenos throughout the plate. I am going with the "Baja Fish Tacos", Blackened Baja Fish with Chipotle Sauce, and pickled Slaw. Served with Guacamole, Rice, Black Beans, and double Corn Tortillas for three Tacos. We placed our order with Sophia when she served our drinks. Then we toasted to Valentine's Day, and us. The bartenders here make the Best Jack-N-Cokes around. They are really good, smoooooooth, and go down easy. While we waited for our food, The Grill became busier and busier, with more people waiting. Glad we came a little early. Sophia stopped by, as well as one of the Managers checking on us to see if we needed anything. Service here is always tops. Soon our food arrived, and my Wife's Roasted Pork Nachos were served the same as they always have been, piled up high and covering the entire plate, and I might add, very colorful. I Love the way they prepare the Baja Fish Tacos with a Huge chunk of perfectly grilled fish all by itself next to the Rice & Black Beans, a large scoop of Fresh Guacamole, and several Corn Tortillas for you to make your own, with Pickled Slaw to the side. Both dishes are a Beautiful Presentation of Deliciousness that you will find nowhere else. The Grill does it right. My Wife's Nachos have a lot of melted cheese oozing everywhere with lots of corn chips and several pounds of Roasted Pulled Pork. Well, okay, maybe not 'pounds', but there are a lot of large chunks throughout this dish. She said it is delicious and loving that Pulled Pork. She ate about half of it and will take the rest home for a meal that will be for both of us - you get a lot of food at The Grill. I cut off a long chunk of fish, spread their Chipotle Sauce on a couple of corn tortillas, then the fish, topping it off with rice & black beans, guacamole, and their pickled slaw. This Fish Taco is Deliciousness and more. The perfectly grilled Baja Fish has lots of flavor with just enough spice from the chipotle sauce. I made three of these, each a little different, and they all were very Tastylicious. Each Taco was so filled with goodies I could not fold it over, and I ate them more like a Tostada instead. Either way, they are The Best. I also have some fish left over that I ate with the remaining sides, adding that chipotle sauce to each bite. I ate all of mine, with no leftovers to take home. While we were enjoying our food, Sophia said that she would like to take a picture of us with my camera because we are a cute couple. Hey, I couldn't disagree with that, so she did. Flattery will get you everywhere. Thank You Sophia. Well, guess what? Sophia earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm, and a nice tip. We boxed up my Wife's leftovers and headed home, and The Grill was still busy as ever when we left. This was a Great way to enjoy a Valentine's Day Dinner.

My Lovely Wife "LOVES" to Cook. Okay, no, she doesn't, but that doesn't stop her from cooking -…read moreunless we go out to eat. Some friends of ours have mentioned a certain place that has really good burgers, and we also heard about this place from others. Well, Saturday, I was busy in the yard and around the house until around 2:30 pm or so, and stopped because it was 95 degrees outside and I don't need that. My Wife was in the house doing her thing, ran a couple of errands, and took care of a few computer things that popped up on her. I knew by looking at her that she didn't want to cook dinner, and I didn't either. I also know that she would rather go out to eat than cook. That being said, I suggested that we go try that Burger place that we were informed about a few times and have not been. She replied, "Oh, you mean Tall Man? I responded, "Uh, I think you mean Tall Guys, but that's close. She agreed that that's where she wants to go. It's called "Tall Guys Burgers & Fries". They specialize in SmashBurgers, and we Love SmashBurgers. I pulled it up online, and they have outstanding reviews. So, that's what we are going to do. See, guys, when your other half (the better one) is down, tired, exhausted, and all worn out from a rough day, just suggest that we go out for dinner. Even though it was a couple of hours before dinner, my Wife was already perked up. You know, come to think of it, this just might have been a trick. But that doesn't matter because we both like going out to eat. Dinner time came around, and we took off for Tall Guys. Arrived and was impressed by how clean the outside and inside of this place is, it's spotless everywhere you look. The decor inside has a Rustic look to it, and kind of takes you back to a simpler time in life. There are also some Artsy paintings on the walls - Nice Touch. No customers are here at the moment, so we looked over the menu and inquired about some of the Burgers we were told about. Cortney informed us that those are the Burgers of the Month, but a couple of them are available. She also explained a lot about what they offer and how the SmashBurgers come. Tall Guys menu is very basic, but they do offer a lot of different toppings. I went with the "Beef & Chicken Smashburger", Two-SmashBurger Patties, with Pepper Jack Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles & Sauce. Served with a choice of French Fries, chose regular. My Wife went with their "Mushroom SmashBurger", Three-SmashBurger Patties, with lots of Mushrooms & Sauce covering the patties. Chose Sweet Potato Fries. Our drinks are Diet Dr Pepper for me and a Diet Coke for my wife. While we waited for our orders, we enjoyed our drinks. Since they are not busy at the moment, I presented Cortney and Dustin, the cook, with the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going above and beyond the norm. They loved the Award, and soon after, more people arrived. Some you can tell are regulars, and that's always good to see. A short time later, Dustin brought out our food. Both of these SmashBurgers are a good size, and the Buns are actually served HOT, not warm, but HOT to the touch. Never has that happened anywhere before. Nice Touch - but don't touch it because it's HOT. Both SmashBurgers are a Beautiful Presentation (and we soon found out) of Tastyliciousness. My Two-SmashBurger Patties with the Pepper Jack Cheese are Delicious. The Chicken Breast Huge, and breaded perfectly. It's Tasty-Juicy-Licious, also compliments the SmashBurgers. This is a Tall SmashBurger and one's mouth can only bite into it from the bottom up - and every SmashBurger bite is very SmashlyFlavorful. All on a Toasted Brioche Bun, and it's the right choice - and did I say they are served HOT?. Well, they are. My French Fries were also prepared the way they should be, golden brown with the right amount of salt, with a nice outer crunch. My Wife loved every bite of her Mushroom SmashBurger, with Three-SmashBurger Patties covered in a lot of Mushrooms & Sauce. My Lovely Wife doesn't eat a lot, but she finished this entire Mushroom SmashBurger, and I think she even licked the wrapper. She also said that their Sweet Potato Fries were the best she has ever had. That, folks, is saying something because she LOVES Sweet Potato Fries and has had them 'everywhere'. Her tray also came with a Sauce for the Sweet Potato Fries, or the Mushroom SmashBurger, to dip into. I had some, and it is Saucylicious. My Wife and I enjoyed every bite we had at "Tall Guys Burgers & Fries", and can't wait to go back for something else "Smashed". They are on Facebook - Tall Guys Burgers & Fries - We both have had SmashBurgers before, but Tall Guys has the Best Ever. Lots of people here say they have the Best SmashBurgrs (or Burgers) in all of San Angelo. My Wife and I can't argue that, they are absolutely SmashBurgerLiciousness - with lots of choices. They also have a Burger of the Month, but you must get there earlier in the month before they run out. Their Specialty SmashBurgers are Very Unique.

Absolutely no customer service, no greeting, no smile. We all have bad days but you could tell this was just who she is... Maybe make her in charge of cleaning things and not dealing with the customers? (the same person could care less when the couple next to me received their order backwards. The woman couldn't eat spicy foods and her burger was covered with spicy items. She took it up to the woman taking orders and the woman refused to do anything. Wow.) The restrooms, wood sides along booths, pickle table and the condiments/tables need a serious cleaning - there is grossness abounding. I didn't see one person busing or cleaning in the restaurant - and it shows! Gross. The fries could've been great if they were crispy but they were all super soggy. FRY FAIL! Onions: you can leave them thick for the onion rings but if you're putting a slice of onion on my burger you better slice it thin. Nobody needs a huge half inch thick slice of onion in the middle of a burger. PRO: The burger was cooked to perfection. At least they got that right, which is why I gave them three stars - nothing else I experienced in this restaurant deserved any stars. The owner/manager are lazy at best cause they obviously don't care about the customer experience.

My Wife isn't feeling well, so I informed her that I will take care of our Dinner for the night…read more Here is what I have planned. We have tried "Texas Steak Express", which happens to be near us. Didn't really care for their Steaks, due to them being a little on the tough side, but they do have Cheeseburgers. My thought was, it's kind of hard to mess up a Cheeseburger, and we are willing to give them another try. We both LOVE Cheeseburgers, and on Mondays they are 'Half-Price,' and that sounds good to me. So, Monday is taken care of, and I can't wait for that Cheeseburger. It was just about time for our run to Texas Steak Express for those 1/2 pound Cheeseburgers they have on Special every Monday between 4 pm and 6 pm. Regular price is $11.49, but on Mondays it's only $5.75. They also come with Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Pickles and Mayo, Mustard & Ketchup. Due to this being a Special, they do not come with Lays Potato Chips. Texas Steak Express has no fries, just chips, but they do have a lot on their Menu Board, including Desserts. Anyway, my Wife and I drove over to TSE expecting a lot of people there. We walked in and were the only ones there. Some cars were in the drive-thru picking up their call-in order, but we wanted to place our order inside and pick it up when it's freshly made. Ordered Two Cheeseburger Specials, and the girl said it would be about 25 minutes. The drive-thru is a constant line of cars. About 20 minutes later, they brought out our order in two bags, and we left. Arrived home, opened up the bags, and there was only One Cheeseburger in the bag, with One container of toppings along with the condiments in the other bag. It's also marked in big letters, #25. We are #24. Oops --- I drove back to TSE, walked in, and a lady at the counter stated, "Oh, there he is." I handed her the bag and said, "This is the wrong order." She then said, "Oh, you can keep that. Here is your other Cheeseburger." I was a little stunned. I then said, "But it's cold." She then stated, "Have a nice day", turned around, and left. I mumbled, "So, that's how it is, my, my." This is not good Customer Service. I was hoping for a couple of fresh Cheeseburgers. I left for home, arrived, and my Wife made us a couple of Salads. Opened up the Bags, and these Cheeseburgers are in their own container, carefully wrapped in foil. They are a good size with a nice thick 1/2 pound patty sitting on top of a slice of Cheese. The toppings are in their own container, with a small leaf of Lettuce, four rings of Red Onion, a very thinly sliced Tomato, (you can almost read a newspaper through it), and three nice size Pickles. Not what their picture looks like, but that Patty has a very nice aroma filling the air. I spread condiments and toppings on the Cheeseburger and took my first bite. The 1/2 Pound Patty is not cold, but warm, and the flavor is amazing. You can really tell it's seasoned properly and grilled perfectly. They only do Medium Well and Well Done, nothing else. My Wife and I are both surprised by how tasty this Cheeseburger is, and it's HUGE, a true half-pounder. Just a little disappointed with the amount of toppings they provide. Nancy ate all of her half-pounder, and she normally does not do this. That just shows you how delicious these Cheeseburgers are. They just need to improve their Customer Service. Can't complain too much because the cost is only $5.75 each. That's a Great Deal. And the month of May is National Hamburger Month. Overall, said and done, we will go back and enjoy these Half Pound Cheeseburgers again, but this time, we will eat them in the car when they are Fresh and Hot, right there in the parking lot. Nothing but the best for my Baby. TSE has 6 locations: Abilene, Midland, Odessa, San Angelo (where we live), and two in Lubbock, Texas.
