Wow! What an unexpected treat. These foodies voted it best lunch out on our roadtrip! The Cole slaw with pineapple chunks was a pleasant surprise. The brisket sandwich plate was perfect for lunch! Cute place. We had the turkey and brisket sandwiches. They gave us plenty of meat and you could add as much bbq sauce as you wanted. The cold slaw was very good. We didn't want to leave Texas without having bbq. Found this little gem and gave it a try. And oh boy. I got the three meat combo and my buddy got the two meat. They both come with two sides. I got the smoked turkey breast, slice brisket and ribs. He got pulled pork and brisket. Everything was smoky and delicious . The turkey was juicy and not dry all (10/10) ribs meat fell off the bone. I travel all over the state for barbecue not sure I've ever seen one this small. The bread on the bottom is super hard because it's stale. Happy discovery! Delicious, outstanding mesquite smoked barbecue on Crockett Avenue. Sonora is mesquite country here deep in the Texas Hill Country. We had the gorgeous ribs and pulled pork with coleslaw and pinto beans, garnished with pickles, jalapeños, and onions. But lots of fun combinations for sampling this exceptional barbecue. The Americans with Disabilities Act does not require service animals to wear a vest, ID tag, or specific harness. I was directed I had to eat outside in the fly infested area since our service animals were not wearing vests. Even when I informed the staff this was not a requirement, I continued to be discriminated against and told I could not be in the establishment. The reviews got my attention. The service is about as good as it gets (suggested a sandwich without bread if I wanted a plate with just one side) and the indoor and outdoor (covered) seating areas are cozy but it all comes down to the food when we eat out. I got the sliced brisket, creamed corn and the cobbler (no additional charge with Yelp checkin). The brisket is tender and just warm with a subtle flavor, the cream corn is fresh and room temperature with almost no flavor and the dessert is a room temperature sweet sticky concoction sparse on peaches. For the price 13.50 (tip +2.00) and the reviews I anticipated more. I'd eat here again if I was in town but wouldn't stop off I10 just to eat here. The place looks clean from comfort room to the eating area. They have a cute collection of the plate numbers. Decent amount of chairs inside and it appear they had an outside sitting but we were not able to see that during our visit. The staff were nice and easy to talk to. Food was good - the boar, you have this cheesy sausage, brisket and ribs that meat fall easily partnered with the sides you choose. I had coleslaw and their creamy corn but for me it didn't match BUT a simple corn will actually be a good one as the bbq have a lot of taste already and I don't think so that needs to add more. The Jackalope was just so good that can't stop eating am not sure if it was supposed to be spicy but it's not. We also had the two soft drinks and it was really good especially the root beer.
