These pool tables are the best you can get, Diamond brand. Always level and the Simonis cloth is perfect. Makes dive bar pool tables feel a like potholed dirt road. Lots of interesting spaces here in this 2-story venue. You can hide away in a cozy booth upstairs and see pool games going on below, or you can be at the forefront of attention on table 1 during Wed and Thurs for the challenge of being 'King of The HALL' . Either way, the best thing about this place is that there is not a television in sight... allowing you to concentrate on human interactions and the game of pool, instead of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and baseball games on TV. I was blown away by Joina's Brazilian Meatstick. Best item on the menu, so juicy and tender. Quality of the meat cut was *fine dining, white napkin* quality. The servers here dash around quickly and are always attentive. Love this new billiards bar. It is upscale and roomy and has great vibes. There's 4 (7-foot) tables on the first floor and 4 (2 7-foot, 2 9-foot standard) tables on the second floor. There's lots of space to play and a dark sophisticated vibe. There is a waitlist for the pool tables and you have to ask the hostess to put you on the list. It is definitely a bit more expensive than the other bars but the vibe is not divey like most bars that have pool tables, thus i think it justifies the price. There's lots of tables to drink, eat and hangout at! The food is surprisingly good and a good selection of cocktails & 2 mocktails on the menu. The management and staff are top notch here, the tables are immaculate, there are a number of nine foot tables and the spacing is a luxury. While I don't partake my friends are big fans of the well-appointed bar, and impressive kitchen bites. On top of this they have great music, great lighting, and we've seen everything from date nights to boys nights to girls nights to a high school reunion-like get-together and even some guys from the current convention that wandered all the way over from SoMa. read more

Absolutely love this new billiards bar! Super intimate and pretty inside! My boyfriend and friend ordered Black & Tan and Hazy IPA, as beer lovers they vouch for it. I got Pão de Queijo, which basically tasted like soft pillowly waffle cake bites with cheese inside! You can choose from three sauces they have: Spicy Cilantro, Mint Coriander, & Garlic Aioli. We also ordered the Brazilian Steak Kabob Skewers, which were very delicious, it was marinated well, super citrusy and herbaceous. Finally we got dessert as well, ordered Brigadeiros in the flavors Matcha and Classic Chocolate. They're pretty sweet and really rich. I enjoyed the texture of the rock sugar on the matcha and the classic chocolate was slightly bitter which was nice. The Hall is a beautiful and well thought out pool hall. I did not play pool, but went for dinner. It was delicious! The crunchy ponzu salad was unique, flavorful and refreshing. The smash burger-yum! I only wish the chicken katsu bites had the option of adding Tonkatsu sauce rather than non Japanese alternatives. The service was fantastic! The bartender (I think his name is Jacob?) was attentive and wonderful. He went above and beyond to make our visit comfortable. Our waiter, JM, was equally as wonderful and made our visit fabulous. Upon entering you'll find a couple booths on right side with the bar on the left The main arena is filled right down the middle with a number of new modern style pool tables, booths and tables around for folks to watch the action while being served. There is a 2nd floor also with booths and stools to watch the action below. Ok let's get to the drinks ..Whiskey Sour made with egg whites, passion fruit what a drink. One of best Sours I've had in a long time. Needless to say I had 2. Delicious. Did I mention I started with a Cava nice fragrance with a lightly sweet taste. So, sadly the Kulfi is no longer on the menu, but some great new additions that work if you're a bit hungrier, like the burgers and the chicken katsu bites (both very tasty). I wasn't drinking alcohol that night (had NA Koschs and a mocktail), but I was impressed by the sake offerings which I will have to try next time! Service was fun and efficient (felt a little more streamlined than when I was there in September). Also loved the new King of the Hall for Wed and Thu (I think). Old school put your name on the chalkboard type play, but done through an app. You can buy a voucher for 5 games at the bar and then sign up to challenge whoever is on the table (which is great if you want to play a few games, have some drinks, but aren't into renting a table). read more

I was fortunate enough to have been invite to a pre-opening event at the Hall by the owners. Some of what I saw was still under development. But with that said, I was blown away! The Hall endeavours not just to be a pool hall but to also be a place you can gather with your non-pool friend to enjoy eats and libations. And both did they nail it. Lets start with the libations. My three favourites were: Whiskey Fig Sour I am usually skeptical about cocktails based on high end whisky but this was delicious. My concern was that they go down so easy, I'll need to watch myself. Dirty Sake Martini This was perfection in a glass. Best Martini I have ever tasted. Black Manhattan Another winner. The two snacks I tried were an Indian Tandoori style wrap and a Brazilian Steak kabob. They both were delicious. The decor of the space is beautiful. Definitely a high end chic place that you could take a date even if she had no interest in pool. There's plenty of seating near the bar. And a few booths strategically placed near the pool tables. The pool tables themselves are works of art. Top end Diamond tables in a tasteful white beige colour. Two 9 footers and six 7 footers. Two of the 7 footers are designated King of the Hill where it's pay by the game and the winner stays on. All in all this place is nirvana for any pool player or foodie. read more

We're a couple of repeat customers, both on weekdays and weekends. Our last visit to The Hall was an early Saturday night (6:15pm) in November. Although we had a negative experience with a Manager (wearing an Hawaiian shirt), we did come up with a few suggestions to improve our (and others) future bar/pool experiences. Our first suggestion is for staff to be completely transparent about the wait time for a pool table. One weekday we had a 90 minute wait, and one weekend we had a one hour wait, after getting Shorter wait time estimates. Another suggestion is for the bar to get a good working coffee machine. That way we don't have to get really tipsy waiting for a pool table - and can also order Keoke or Irish coffee drinks too. Third, if a customer orders an appetizer and drink at a bar booth, please make sure Both items are served. Last Saturday we ordered food and cider, but were only served the food - and had to go back to the bar 15 minutes later to re-order the cider. What saved the day for us was the fast and helpful service of Jacob, the bartender at The Hall. Jacob also checked in with the hostess to make sure we got to our pool table quickly and timely. Lastly for us at least, booking a pool table should be on a first come first served basis, especially before 6pm. A longer wait is understandable if a few large parties are already booked in. But then again, a first come basis shouldn't be simply overruled by someone else with a large wad of cash.. In summary, The Hall is one of the best pool halls around, but let's say a little tweaking is still needed. read more

As an avid pool player in San Francisco, I am so happy to see The Hall brought to our city. The ambiance of this pool hall is sleek, modern and with an open floor plan that provides plenty of room to chill and play pool. The rates for the pool tables are a bit more expensive than your average pool hall but when you take into consideration that they have seven diamond tables (the Rolls Royce of pool tables), the price is worth it. The cocktails and food are well priced as well. I really recommend the yucca fries and the passion fruit whiskey sour and sake dirty martini. Big shout out to the staff as well, specifically. JM, Joseph, Trish, and Taylor. They are welcoming and friendly, all while providing a great experience. I really enjoy going there. Highly recommend checking out The Hall. read more

The very first time I attempted to go to the Hall I called in advance to try to reserve a table in case they were busy since I was about 10 minutes away and was excited to check out a new pool hall. I was told they don't take table reservations and don't have single player rates so the price would be 25 an hour even if I was by myself and there was no guarantee I would get a table if I headed over there. I instead decided to go to my usual pool hall in Daly City, which charges 15 an hour for a single player. I went with a friend on a Monday night thinking that there was no possible way all the tables would be taken on a Monday night, and I was wrong. We decided to order food and wait a little bit, but 45 minutes later, there was still no table available. I was told it was because the league takes up 4 tables on monday nights. I thought, no worries, I'll come back at some point and try again on a less busy night. With my birthday approaching, I decided to see their events rates were. I'm now reading an email informing me they would charge me $1250 for up to 20 guests, with an additional $50 for any other guests. As a pool enthusiast and a native San Franciscan, I was eager to support a new business in the neighborhood I was born and raised in, but considering they only seem interested in providing service to a specific class of people, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more
