Great middle eastern food, especially hummus and pita! Just found this place while out in Ashburn one day and would love to go back

Went in for the first time. Smelled great! Was picking up a door dash order but the Halal guys messed it up, and the help line people at doordash arent that smart, so I ended up eating it. Food was 2.5-3 stars but get an extra because it was free. Squeezable white sauce packet that says "white sauce" is just wrong. read more

Yes, this particular store is the closest to the original at Midtown NY because they pay attention to quality, staff is friendly & simply good quality!!!! Therés enough seating inside if you want to delve into that freshness of the halal food - that's your ambience- well located near and around the businesses in LC! People come and go and nonstop! Y'all, DO NOT SKIP. This place may not be fancy but this is home cooked quality with the convenience of fast food. The flavor of even the rice, RICE, is unreal. The meats are always juicy (NEVER dry) the serving sizes are like what your grandmother would serve you if you told her you missed a meal. The topping are FRESH. Like tomatoes off the vine from the back and lettuce grown from a greenhouse also in the back of the kitchen (not actually). Service is exactly as you would think. The best? No but still very nice and almost familial. 10/10 always recommend. read more

I love this place. Even the evil brownies, that are so deliciously addictive. Here's where you want to go, although be careful with the hot sauce. Halal Guys started out as a good cart in NY. They've come a ways. This location has really nice staff. They always greet you, and whether dining in or carry out, they'll have you covered. The best meal is a bowl with beef and chicken. Add lots of vegetables. Then on top of it their white sauce and a stripe or two max, of their hot sauce which has a lot of flavor. You can also do only beef or chicken. Occasionally they'll have lamb and it is very tasty. They have a number of sides too, and am happy to recommend them. read more

I walked in around afternoon, nobody in line but me but employees too busy to take my order. Waited two minutes standing. I ordered regular and told the employee no lettuce no tomatoes, but employee still filled up half my bowl with bland lettuce but then barely put any beef/chicken. I understand protein costs more but these are scumy business practices. They fill up most of my bowl and lettuce and rice to save money on protein. Employee barely added any white sauce as well, how expensive is white sauce that you guys need to restrict its portions as well. The bowl size is already shrunk compared to few years before, as well the flavor of the chicken has gotten worse. My main complaint: Add more protein, more white sauce, and quit tryna fill up my bowl with lettuce so you can save money. I told employee no lettuce! Only reason I went here to support Muslim business but they over-charge, while barely adding any protein! Nobody wants to eat a lettuce/tomatoe bowl. After getting a refresher from Starbucks Husband and I stopped in here for lunch. I saw Chicken Shawarma and was instantly ready to eat that (after remembering if from visiting the middle east). Everything was perfect. I got the small plate with tomatoes, lettuce, and white sauce. Husband got the large plate with everything but hummus. Their hot sauce (ask for the small pack) was packed with spice and heat and was good. Price was great for the food we received. Also the customer service was nice and accommodating being it was our first time in the establishment. Real chill to just sit and eat and leave filling perfectly full and satisfied! read more

Unfortunately I have to update my review below and demote a bit for now. I ordered delivery today and the experience was not as good as when I did pickup last month. The order arrived missing one of the three platters we ordered; the small platter was converted to a large platter, AND one of the sides was missing (ordered a four-piece falafel side and got a two-piece). Also, the meat was completely dried out and basically just meat crumbs instead of pieces. Some of it was so dry it was actually crunchy. -- Absolutely deliciously amazing. I used to get this food at my office when they would visit the basement and set up shop once a week. But now, COVID had meant no Halal Guys! #sad But then, on Thanksgiving, driving around looking for lunch -- and NO ONE was open, not even Taco Bell. Suddenly, I pull out my food ordering app looking for an open restaurant to grab a quick bite to tide us over until the big turkey dinner later that night. BOOM! Halal Guys is open! So we order on the app and head on over there. Now, I don't think they started preparing my order until I arrived, so I did have to wait a little bit. But luckily everyone was masked up and minding their social distancing. It was worth the wait. That delectable gryo meat. The juicy chicken. The crispy, flavor-bursting falafel. And the sauce. GOD THE SAUCE. The sauce just makes it -- the white sauce, mmm, the red sauce, SPICY!!! Flavor explosions, full bellies, just all-around great. So glad I can get Halal Guys any time I want now. I ordered the chicken platter for delivery (and my husband got the gyro wrap) and was disappointed. The rice was flavorful (hint of lemon) and the white sauce was really great (it came in a pre-packaged pouch). But the chicken was inedible and a weird gray color. I picked at the white pieces but was not pleased. I just ate the rice. Husband said the gyro was ok but the meat was dry. Pita was decent but a little gummy. Not sure I'd try again. read more

Your clothes will smell like grease for hours, afterwards. -This franchise location does not participate in the loyalty rewards program like the Fairfax or Tyson's Corner locations do. To the franchise management team of this location and the Merrifield one, please visit your counterparts at the Springfield, Fairfax, and Tyson's locations. Unfortunately, they provide a much better customer experience than your operations. I hope that this will change in due time, as I would like to give you guys my business. I had Halal Guys a decade ago in New York and didn't care for it. Now that it's a successful chain spreading across the country, I decided to give it another shot, and I still don't care for it. The meat was tender but bland, pita was hard, rice was okay, and the white 'sauce' is some sort of calorie-heavy oil-based paste. I'm not really sure what people expect when they come here. However, being from NY "THE Halal Guys" is top of the line STREET FOOD from a TRUCK!!! The line stretches down I think 53rd(it's around the corner from Radio City and across the street from the MOMA) in the heart of tourism and office buildings. So, you have people grabbing a bite on their lunch break and trying to find a "bang for your buck"bite as they sight see in one of the most expensive cities in this good ole U. S. of A. With that as your barometer, I think it was just as good as that summer day I took my children back home to be tourists. We left MOMA and were soooo hungry we couldn't get back on the LIRR w/o eating and didn't want to walk far (tbh we didn't want to stand on that line either), but we will never forget our first introduction to the Halal Guys. AFTER ALL, who could argue with a line as long as the one this truck gets, daily. We sat around the fountain across from Radio City and enjoyed our food watching the city and people. It was cool enough to NOT be sweltering and muggy and it was good, healthy, and fresh!! I do not think it was any different from this store front and the meat was well-seasoned or the spicy sauce gave it flavor, but it did not lack and it wasn't dry nor was the dough of the pita uncooked, just nice and tender. I had the chicken & beef Gyro platter w/extra rice & lots of spice sauce. They were accommodating and efficient. No fluff!! Try it and don't be deterred by the other reviews like I almost was. Thankfully my daughter insisted and we relived our day in Manhattan munching on high-end street food!!! For starters, the pita is partially uncooked. It comes rolled in tinfoil so i didn't even notice until i went to unwrap the remaining 1/3. That was a huge bummer bc the pita is the best part of the meal so far. The hummus has a good texture but seems to have a bit of a weird aftertaste. The gyro beef is good but the chicken is grisly. There is a new employee they don't know how much portion have to put less chicken less meat and price are higher then other local gyro. Look at your price and what you serve to costumer. Not sure how I'm so late to hear of the Halal Guys, but man... so good!! I love a good Gyro and their combo platter bowl with Gyro + chicken is amazing. The meats are juicy and nicely seasoned. We also enjoy the hummus dip. I've only ordered through delivery, and unfortunately today they forgot our sauces (first time this has happened to us, but the other reviews seem to indicate a pattern of forgetfulness). Much like CFA, the sauce is equally as important as the meat! Luckily, I had some sauces in the fridge from my last order Whew... dinner saved! Environment / Location: Pretty easy to find with tons of parking. The place looks new and clean. Staff/ Service: Very nice, welcoming and friendly. Food: Ordered 2 chicken / beef combo platters and 2 chicken gyro sandwich wraps. The platters were bland and lacked flavor. The chicken was cold and not seasoned whatsoever. The beef lacked flavor as well. The gyros were stuffed with lettuce and tomatoes and hardly any chicken. Again, the chicken was bland. The pita was ok. Overall: I will not be going back. Not sure Halal Guys as a chain works. I much rather support my small private business owners who have Middle Eastern restaurants. read more

We came here a week ago to grab pick up. There is no option to fine in the restaurant due to COVID. We ordered the combination rice platter which was filled with rice, chicken and gyro. You have the option to add pita, lettuce, tomatoes and either the red sauce or white sauce. The white sauce is creamy, similar to a tzatziki but creamier and fattier. It's delicious! The hot sauce is very hot so use with caution. It tastes like it is made with extract to derive the spiciness but it is tasty. Overall, the chicken was a bit dry but flavorful and the beef was our favorite as it was moist and flavorful. I think we will opt for just the beef next time. read more

Just ordered delivery from Halal Guys while staying at home because of COVID-19. We ordered 7 platters and waited over an hour and a half for the delivery. According to the delivery service, the delay was due to the restaurant not having our order ready and had to wait fifteen additional minutes to get our food. When we received the order, we only received 5 out of the 7 of the platters we had ordered. When we reached out to delivery service, they said that it was the restaurant that did not prepare the food and we needed to call the restaurant. For a company that prepares food and gets an influx of orders all the time, I am disappointed and annoyed that halal guys could make such a drastic mistake like this. I would NOT recommend them to anyone who is craving halal guys because their prep and deliver of their food is not worth it from this location. read more

Always like Halal Guys food, till I moved to Leesburg. Ashburn franchise one is not so good. Management team of this location has poor customer service, food is sample doesn't worth the money (rice and a little meat on the top) If you are not paying attention they rip you off. I was charge for item I never ordered. The meal itself depends on the person taking your order and his/her mode. This is not the first bad experience, unfortunately this my third and last one. It's the same! I grew up in NY and go there often to visit. Whenever I'm in NYC I was always finding time to stand in line at one of The Halal Guys' trucks, so I was happy and surprised when they opened a restaurant right here in Ashburn. Today was my fifth or sixth visit and the food quality is great, the gyro meat is seasoned perfectly, the chicken is very tasty, and the rice is excellent, and the lettuce and tomatoes are always fresh too. The famous "white sauce" is just as good as it is in Manhattan. The only thing missing is the long line of NYC people. I do miss standing there in line talking to either a cop, construction worker, hooker, businessmen and women, tourists who are wondering what the line is for, etc. The only knock I can really point out is this restaurant does not always appear to be clean- the floor is almost always very sticky. Maybe they could use one more person on each shift to help keep the place clean. The employees who are working are always friendly, and I appreciate that. read more

I had a chicken platter for takeout two days ago for a late night dinner. Food was tasty as always... but I had food poisoning symptoms the morning after... I was in pain all day yesterday. I had to ask someone to take me to the ER because I just couldn't take the pain anymore and was very dehydrated (I couldn't keep food or liquids down at all). I'm still on medication today... I get the platters from this location plenty of times before without any problems. I love the food, I really do.
