I kept seeing this place mentioned on Northern Virginia Foodies facebook page and everyone vouched for it on there, so while being in Ashburn had to give it a try. They were able to make me a spicy chicken kabob side and it was really delicious, cooked fresh to order and it was juicy. Ran me about $9 and the guy running the cashier, was very nice! Hands down the best kabob spot in the area! The staff here is always friendly, and the food quality is incredibly consistent every single time. The meat is perfectly cooked -- so juicy and tender -- and everything is seasoned just right. The bread has the perfect texture, and the sauces they serve on the side are absolutely delicious and pair so well with the kabobs. One must-try is their chickpeas -- mixing them with the rice is seriously amazing. I usually can't eat kabobs from other places because of that strong, gamey smell, but this is the only place where everything tastes clean, flavorful, and just right. We love ashburn kabob. We get takeout from there all the time! And they make it so quickly! We love their quaubili palaw, beef kobidah, chicken kebab, and their hummus! The quabili was good and the lamb shank cooked perfectly but weird that they don't put raisins in this dish. The aushak was not good and the side salads were sad. I was excited in dining here since we usually do take out. We decided to have dinner with my family to celebrate some birthdays and I'd say I'm disappointed in this place. The food is excellent but the customer service is horrible. We waited for our food for at least 40 mins. Our waiter barely checked up on us and gave us an attitude when she got one of our orders wrong. We waited patiently and we didn't ask her when our food is ready. I have noticed a lot more to-go orders were being placed and picked up during our time in the restaurant. What also bothered me is that other customers in the restaurant ordered after us and still got their food first. I've noticed the waiter's interactions with other customers and it rubbed me thr wrong way. So if you want food here, I'd recommend ordering online or on the call. I honestly don't think we have done anything wrong and we weren't treated nicely. I wouldn't want to dine in again. read more

I've never tried Afghan food, besides kabobs, so I was really excited to try some more Afghan dishes. Ashburn kabob did not disappoint! The kabob combo for 2 had an assortment of flavorful kebabs. The spices were great and the meat was juicy and had a nice charred taste! I also ordered the quabili palaw and this was one of my favorites! It came with a huge lamb shank and the rice was the perfect of savory and sweet, with the spices, raisins, carrots, and onions. I'd definitely recommend this, if you like lamb! I also ordered mantu, which is an Afghan dumpling dish, because I thought it was cool that the Korean word for dumpling, "mandu", is very similar. I enjoyed the leek filling and red meat sauce on top of the dumplings. Definitely get this dish! For appetizers, we got the banjan borani and the bolani. I loved the eggplant because it had a delicious tomato sauce on top. I put it on my pita and it was the perfect combo. The bolani was tasty, but I wouldn't order it again because the rest of the dishes came with pita and plenty of rice. I've never had afghan food before, so I can't vouch for the authenticity of the food here. But I really enjoyed it and am excited to eat here again! read more

I've been ordering take out quite a few times from this place. This place is consistent with their food. We order the manto, ashak, quabli palow, bolani and two different kabobs. They don't disappoint. My only negative comment if you can take is as a negative comment is that they only have one type of bolani and not more than one. They definitely have gone above and beyond for their service. Granted it was an accident that they had forgotten to include my palow, but they did delivery it after they closed (it is Christmas Eve and they were closing at 7pm). The nice gentleman apologized and asked how to make it right and he did. I've very appreciative of that and will continue to order from here. read more

Tonight was my second time here and both times the meat was super juicy, tender, and flavorful. I'm not a big chicken lover but surprisingly I liked the chicken just as much as the beef. Grabbed the combo for 4 for $45 as it gives a good variety and allows for a delicious lunch tomorrow also tried the mantoo (?) as I absolutely adore dumplings and these were no disappointment. It's definitely a different take than regular Asian dumplings but delicious nonetheless. Service was also so sweet and nice even though it's not a restaurant. It's hard to find actual authentic Afghan food anymore, there only a handful of them and this is certainly one! I ordered the combo for 4 that included two different types of rice, 4 sides, 4 fresh pieces of bread, chicken, beef & chicken kubideh, and lamb. Everything was 100% authentic and SUPER delicious! First and foremost, their food is absolutely delicious. Simply put, you won't be let down when you order dishes here. Their service is impeccable and you can tell that everyone wants you to have a great experience and meal; they're not just trying to throw food at you and have you leave. Their delivery is quick and their seat-in service is amazing too. Unfortunately, I'm writing this during the COVID shut down so I can't speak to how open their restaurant is right now for dine-in but when it is back to full-speed, it's a beautiful place that's a nice place to dine in at. Lastly, to those that are trying this place for the first time or maybe aren't super familiar with all of the wonderful dishes that Indian cuisine has to offer, be open-minded and try something that might be outside of your normal comfort zone.
