Heaps of Brisket :)
Wendy W.

Drove 4 hours because their brisket sandwich looked delicious online, for a lunch date with my husband. Great little dive for a great lunch date. Service was fast and friendly. Food was amazing. I had the brisket sandwich and a side of chive fries for $13. Couldn't really eat too many fries the portions were huge. Tall beers are 24oz and only $8 for good craft regional selections. Fill a growler to go for $11 if you bring your own, or $19 for one of theirs. Fun and lively atmosphere with lots of local flavor. Will be back to try the pizza when I come to Glendive again.

Glendive, MT was a halfway point for us on our road trip. We had high hopes for this place. I just thought the food was okay. It definitely was not crowded and the service was great which is why I give it 4 stars. Just basic fried food for a decent price. My husband liked his burger but that's about all he would say about it. They had a decent beer selection though! The building is old and kind of historic looking. I found it extremely odd that they had a weird fireplace in the middle of the dining area with carpet all around it. Strange. I would eat here again but only if I happen to be in town. The town itself seems a little run down. COVID may be to blame for that. It's still worth a stop if you're nearby.

Fish and chips

Awesome bartenders and waitresses salad bar included with your meal which includes soup as well their fish and chips was delicious so with their Mexican appetizer. There's no hard liquor so be aware so it's only beer siders and hard seltzer but doesn't take away from the nice environment the food is delicious.

Our family was spending the night at a local hotel in Glendive. The hotel clerk recommended the Gust Hauf. The Gust Hauf's menu had a good variety of food. My family and I ordered pizza. It was delicious! Very reasonably priced. We loved being able to watch various sports on all the screens around the restaurant. It had a good family atmosphere.

Bacon cheeseburger pizza

Driving through Montana and needed a family stop. To be a bit honest I was apprehensive about the name and weird beer stein sign. Glad we went anyway. Good pizza, had to be a yeast home made crust, lots of toppings. Me n wife had a bacon cheeseburger, best one I've had in some time, our in laws had a Philly, not my jam but they loved it. Kids had a pepperoni and Hawaiian. Overall I'd say heavy toppings were excellent pickles on bacon cheeseburger were phenomenal, the crust however was the takeaway, it had a crispy but wasn't hard and as I mentioned I felt a taste of yeast which I'm equating to a homemade and not a Sysco or delivered frozen thaw crust. Worth the stop!

Tiny little spot in a tiny town…read more. We immediately loved the feel of this place as the locals in the bar were welcoming. We ordered a flight of beer to try some different styles and the beers were ok at best. The favorite of the bunch was probably the chili beer. All in all loved this place, loved the hospitality and we'd come back just for that and maybe try some of the other beers (maybe they're better)

You know that scene in western movies where the wayfaring stranger enters the saloon, all…read moreconversation falls to silence, and every head in the place turns to stare at him? That's Cross Country Brewing, or at least that was my experience of it. After a long day of driving, me, my girlfriend, and my mother were in the mood for a beer or two, so we jumped when we saw that there was a brewery in town. Glendive, after all, isn't exactly a metropolis with microbreweries at every intersection. Indeed, Glendive (or at least Cross Country Brewing) fit the stereotype of the hostile small town that doesn't much like outsiders. As soon as the three of us walked in we were greeted with that ominous silence and a blank, "What do you expect from me?" look on the face of the thin, bearded, ballcap'd bar tender. No "Hi" "What can I get for you?" "I recommend our famous..." etc. Nope. We picked our beers from the chalkboard menu, ordered them, he poured 'em, and then pushed them over to us with an empty, emotionless stare. I didn't get it. We just looked like normal people, not the Addams family. Why the random unfriendly attitudes? It didn't matter how kind or full of smiles we were, it was like our very presence was an insult to the establishment. Geez, sorry we were trying to give you our money. We promise not to bother you again.
