I read a couple of yelp reviews that made it seem like a good restaurant, despite the rundown condition of the building. In fact, it was just awful -- no other way to describe it. The salad was not fresh - iceberg lettuce that we had to pick through. We ordered chicken fried chicken. It was dry. The mashed potatoes tasted better with lots of salt & pepper. The gravy was inedible. We were happy we had requested it be on the side. Each of us ate less than half our food. Our waitress was very nice. We appreciated the good service. read more

Perfect and unpretentious meal with stellar service. After a long day in the car, our hotel suggested we dine next door. I'm so glad we listened. The ribeye and baked potatoes were fantastic. I loved the chicken fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes and chicken gravy. Sometimes you just need home style comfort food. Don't let the small town and unpretentious exterior fool you. The details are not missed here. Cloth napkins, salt& paper on the table, two forks, extra butter are all provided without having to ask. Had dinner here for our one night stay in Glendive. This is a restaurant attached to a motel. The dining room is quite nice with well spaced tables, the booth seats by the windows are very comfortable. We had a burger and nachos. Both ok although for the nachos I'd have preferred different kind of cheese - the American cheese they used was very runny - but the flavors were ok. For dessert had pecan pie a la mode. Not the best pie and the ice cream too starchy. Service was attentive and efficient. Reasonable prices. Overall an acceptable dining option. read more

So, I was having extended work stay in Glendive and I ate here a few times. In fact twice during the week. Maybe a Tuesday and Wednesday. Then on a Friday. The Tuesday I got a hamburger and fries. Service was great, food came out fast and hot. It was really good. The Wednesday I ate at the bar section. I got a chicken sandwich with fries. That was pretty good too. Chicken was a little dry, but not like eating a cracker. Service was excellent both days. I ate here on a Friday at around 6pm. I took a seat, it's basically first come first serve. I sat in the dining area. I waited maybe 5 minutes for the waitress and she gave me my menu. I knew what I was going to eat, so I ordered a beer and water. Waitress came back and I placed my order. I got a 12oz sirloin with mixed vegetables. I also got the soup of the day,clam chowder. I thought clam chowder in Montana, this might be risky. Haha. Got my beer then clam chowder.It turned out ok. Then I proceeded to wait ~40 minutes to get my dinner. I almost left. I would have paid for the beer and chowder. I could hear a lot of chatter out of the kitchen and not good chatter. The kitchen was backing up and food was delayed. The kitchen was out of order. I felt bad for the waitress cause she was running all over the place. It wasn't her fault. When I went there during the week, the food was served in 10-15 minutes tops. Friday it was 40 minutes. Service was good. I did notice and hear some complaints amongst other guests. I remained cool, even though it had been a long two weeks. I did tip well cause I know the waitress was completely overwhelmed. My one option to this place is to hire a busboy to clean the plates up instead of the waitress doing it. read more

Was recommended this place to eat from a local while I was getting my nails done. Since there are limited options in town, my coworkers and I thought that we would give it a try. Not a bad thing as it was only across the bridge from where we were staying. When you first walk in they have 2 entrances, since we weren't sure which direction to go, but looking through the window of one door, we saw a sign and saying "please seat yourself". As we walked into the dining area, we saw another door that said casino, where the bar was Since it was a three of us, and the hockey game was on we decided to sit in the bar area. Once we had a seat, we did have a waitress that came over awfully fast to grab our orders but when the order came back for the drinks, only about half of the drinks came. And we had to let her know that we were missing some. This was kind of what was the follow throughout the rest of the night for our dinner. Once we placed our orders, my food came out first and it was about a good five minutes before the rest of my parties food came out. Not sure what took so long for theirs as it was a salad and a burrito bowl. There should've been the first ones to come out as mine was a burger. I did not get to try the other people's food this time but the taco salad did look amazing. My coworker did report that it had good flavor and she ended up eating the entire thing. I'm not a big eater but I did get the taco burger it was a featured item for the summer time, and I must say, it was one of the juiciest burgers I've had, and it had good flavoring. it doesn't come with cheese and after I got it, I kind a wish that I had added some. One of my coworkers had ordered a second beer, but decided to try the flat tire, he was brought the same beer that he had previously had. He was going to mention some thing, but it was actually cheaper on his bill, then getting the flat tire so he was fine with it. When it came time to pay our waitresses disappeared again, it was a little hard to find her. Once she came back to take our payments, it was pretty fast. We've had and then we left. Again, since there are limited options in this town, I would eat here again when I'm back for work. But I will definitely be trying the taco salad. read more

You can't judge a book by its cover. When you drive up to the front door it sure doesn't look like much. But let me tell you, I've eaten here numerous times on my back and forth road trips between Minneapolis and Seattle and I have always received friendly service, really good food and at a very fair price. This Sunday evening was no exception. Plenty of wait people on hand to take your order and the food comes out of the kitchen without delay. The staff are enthusiastic and attentive. And their care is also apparent in little things like a warm and tasty dinner roll (which came with my chicken fried steak -- when's the last time you had an edible dinner roll at a local cafe) -- and a decorative orange slice that is actually fresh enough to eat and enjoy, plus a couple pats of butter soft enough to spread without tearing the bread. It's all in the details, and this place excels. This is beef country so I would guess their steaks are also top notch. read more

I have stayed at this hotel 5 or 6 times and it's always great. Rooms are not fancy but they are clean and comfortable. It's very old school with actual keys for the room. One of the best parts is that there is a 24 hr diner as well as a bar and some video slots. The food is so good. They have a big variety of basic comfort food all done food. Several draft beer options and a full bar. They have daily specials. Last time I had the daily special of pork street tacos with beans and rice. Look this in Montana so not expecting great street tacos. Yes they were on flour tortillas but the pork was so tender and tasty. Plenty of cotija cheese and lots of pork. It came with guacamole. The beans and rice were maybe not 100% authentic but the rice was better than most rice in Texas Mexican places. The prices for the food, drinks,room are a great value. I will continue not stay here every trip this way. It's the total package. I need to try breakfast next time. Guest get a 10% discount. It's always busy so you know it's gotta be good read more

Worth the stop! My husband stayed here and the food was good. The rooms were clean and the owner very friendly. I got to stay here last night and the rooms were clean. A little strange smell to it but they were clean and the TV worked. Hallway from the room (also a door to outside from the room) leads down to the desk, the restaurant, and they also have a bar. The food last night was wonderful. I have a good variety. Wonderful appetizers. Staff was outstanding, smiled very polite! And the owner was one of a kind. I will definitely be back. read more

My honest rating would be 3.5 stars but there wasn't anything really bothersome so I rounded up. My husband and I ate at the bar; the 19 year old waiter was very kind, gay, and friendly. We ordered the chicken linguine which was affordable even though the addition of chicken was $4. Two beer, a chicken linguine, and curly fries totaled a little over $30. The main dish comes with either a soup or salad; we chose the salad and it was okay (iceberg lettuce). The overall food tasted okay; for the price and portion, it was great. This review is for food only. We came here for take out for dinner. I ordered chicken fried steak with fresh veggies. It has been years since I've had chicken fried steak. It tasted good, although somewhat reminiscent of ramen seasoning. The side of veggies were actually really well cooked and seasoned. My fiance got "Scott's choice" which seems to be a hamburger burrito, and also tasted really good. This probably wouldn't be too of our list for food we've tried on this whole roadtrip but choices are pretty limited in Glendive and it's not a bad one for here. read more

Had dinner at their restaurant, staying down the street and this was what my hotel recommended. Decent menu and prices. I had the fettucini w/ shrimp. The Alfredo sauce was gluey and they had caked the pasta w/ cheese. The garlic toast looked and tasted like frozen Texas toast. I asked for a large spoon in order to eat the long pasta and all they had was a soup spoon, which ended up being ok. Well what a wonderful surprise. The Restaurant from the looks does not like much let alone somewhere you want to go to eat. This is a classic "don't judge the book by the cover." No there is no ambiance, but your going there because you need food. So we took a chance, got seated right away and waited on fairly quickly even though the place was very busy. Ok, yeah there is carpet on the floor and needed a major vacuum, but between the two wait staff, it would need to wait. There was a table with several kids and what more to say their food finds away of missing their mouth. Ok getting to the important stuff...FOOD. I'm vegetarian and they had a couple of options. One was a Quesadilla (the description was amazing), but I choice the Garden Vegetable Sandwhich on whole grain bread. It was soo good and packed. My side dish was their "Feature Fries ... fries seasoned with garlic and rosemary! Beautifully cooked, hot delicious and a ton of them. My beverage was ice tea...it too for simple ice tea full of good old fashion full tea flavor tall glass with slice of lemon. I boxed half my Sandwhich and most of my fries to go. My meal was under $15. Service spot on. So if your passing through you won't be taking a chance to stop in. Oh by the way there is a full bar and casino adjoined. For less than 60$ this is an ok hotel. No smoking but ashtray buckets outside every room. Outside room entry with a key and inside hallway access to walk to restaurant and casino. Room was clean, bed comfy, micro and fridge in room. You can turn the room fan on for white noise. The tv remote only worked if you stood right in front of the tv. Free coffee and 10% off breakfast at the restaurant. Good stop for an overnight. read more

Mixed review: if I were reviewing the restaurant alone, I'd give it 4 stars. If I were reviewing the hotel and grounds, I'd give it 1-2 stars. The restaurant is pretty good, with large portions and delicious food. It's a good place to eat. There's a small casino next door, if you're into the whole slot machine and sad and dark losing your hopefully discretionary income thing. The hotel, on the other hand, is disturbing. The parking lot can be barely called a parking lot, with severely deteriorating asphalt, down to the dirt, and potholes everywhere. There are at least a few long-term residents here who leave their boots outside. Worst of all, when I checked in, the person was not helpful. They were clearly bothered that we were just at the desk. When they discovered that I was at the wrong place, they told me "you're at the wrong place" and then just walked away without another word. Maybe you could be nice and tell someone from out of town where I actually checked in? That was really rude. (The other hotel had a similar name and Google Maps showed the location incorrectly.) We were actually relieved that this wasn't our hotel and I wouldn't want to stay here, ever! read more

Very nice hotel rooms- My room was very spacious and my bed was super comfortable after a 4 hour drive! There was plenty of hot water for a shower- There is also a 24 hour restaurant attached to the hotel- This added up to alot of convieniance. Drinks were strong and inexpensive (compared to CA prices). Food was very good. We popped in to watch Thursday night football, so we had pub food for the most part; steak fingers-excellent, buffalo wings with sauce on the side-very good, and chips and guac. The server Glynis was awesome. I probably will never be in Glendive MT ever again, so I won't be back, but I recommend the place to anyone staying in the area. read more

This is absolutely 5 star for the area! However not for what people from a bigger city would consider 5 star in the least bit. Check it out though because if not you will just be extremely disappointed at another place in town. Scott runs the show here. He's an extremly nice, reasonable, and inteactive person with people in the bar, restaurant, or the hotel. The wait and cooking staff here are definitely some of the highest quality staff in town. Yellowstone has a wide menu variety, and it all comes out cooked consistently well! They also carry several quality beers on tap. Happy hour is 2 for 1 on wells, drafts, wine from 3-7. Drinks are free if you play in the casino. I've been here more than a dozen times now, and it gets better with interaction. Don't be scared to ask to change the channel on one of the several tv's on the wall. Relax and chat it up with the locals. There's nothing better to do in town in the winter anyway' so do it at a great place. read more

We stopped in here last night at the lounge casino. Was a nice little place. Machine were loose, very surprising for a small place Was very clean and the staff kept checking our drinks to make sure we were ok Drinks free while you gamble The food smelled so good in the restaurant that we decided to have dinner here They had a prime rib special.. However I didn't get it because when I ordered it rare the server told me I wouldn't be happy with it because it was at best med rare then the other server / barmaid asked what was we talking about she then proceeds to want to argue with me that prime rib is never served rare at any restaurant. ( Really ??.. Wow !!.....) So I ordered the Scott's Choice and hubby ordered the salmon Both were very good Soup was excellent. Rice was kind of dry Also ordered lemon meringue pie to go All in all a good place to relax unwind and grab a bit to eat As for the hotel I can't tell you we stayed across the street However they do have truck and trailer / large vehicle parking here Not sure if hotel accepts pets or not I would have given 5 stars but having a waitress want to argue with me over something she has no idea about... I think this is probably 5 stars for "truck stop motel in small-town Montana". It's actually a good motel by any motel standard. We stayed in a ground floor pet room and did not have problems with noise. Room smelled a bit musty, but seriously, pet room. We put a cat in it and I'm sure he didn't improve the aroma. Room prices were the cheapest in town. Attached hotel restaurant is pretty decent too. Good prices, a few local brews, and the burgers are allegedly from MT grass-fed beef. (They do taste better.) Wait staff are friendly and accommodating; I asked for extra-crispy fries and got 'em with a crunch that would satisfy a Belgian. I don't know if I'll ever pass through Glendive again, but I'd stay here again if I did. read more
