We came here 6 years ago on the way west. It's a classic old style dinner, so an experience in itself. But the food is just fine. First city in Montana as you come east from the Dakotas. We stopped in around noon on a Wednesday for lunch. The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived. We were told the fryers were down, which wasn't a problem since we planned to order breakfast items anyway. Our server was friendly, but service felt disorganized from the start. She forgot to bring my coffee, and I had to ask for it while she was sitting at the desk computer. We also noticed our food was taking an unusually long time to arrive, despite us being the only customers in the restaurant. Eventually, we learned they had to turn on and heat up the flat-top grill after we placed our order. At lunchtime on a Wednesday, that was surprising. Had we known the grill wasn't already operating, we probably would have chosen somewhere else. We're traveling and were hoping for a quick meal, but it took nearly an hour from start to finish, with over 30 minutes passing before our food arrived. Unfortunately, the food itself was even more disappointing than the wait. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet but was served a bacon and cheese omelet instead, which is a pretty significant difference. The pancake was dense, dry, and almost flavorless -- it honestly tasted like it was made from little more than flour and water. The French toast was acceptable but nothing memorable. Overall, we took a few bites from everything but barely touched our food.  We've been traveling for a month and eating at restaurants all over the country, and this was easily the most disappointing meal we've had on the road. We had dinner here last night because it was the only thing open at 9:00 pm. It was absolutely the worst dinner ever. I would go to bed hungry before I ever ate here again. The eggs were under cooked and looked so disgusting we couldn't eat them. The waffles tasted horrible and we each only took a couple bites. Was the food five star no; but it us a diner and it's more Importantly open 24 hours. They had a few items permanently removed from the menu like the fish and chips and on Sunday food items are finished because Monday is their delivery day but that means fresh. Their staff is kind and accommodating and I enjoyed my chicken fried steak they gave extra dressing for my salad as I requested; more importantly they put the gravy on the side for the steak so it wasn't soggy. Good burgers, but not really good anything else. The fryer grease was so old and dirty, the tots tasted off. Not the cleanest establishment either. The server was torn between being a genuinely nice and helpful individual and being 100% over working at an establishment that was out of clean drinking glasses, turkey, green peppers, chili, and wheat bread where she was the only person doing really anything with a sense of urgency. read more

This was probably one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. The service was slow and nothing came out right. Some of us got our meals 20 minutes apart. The breakfast was supposed to come with a pancake and it didn't and when we said something this was the pancake we got. The picture of the pancake is exactly how it was served to us. They are slow with orders. The cook can only do one order at time. We waited 2 hours to get our order because the cook chose to do take out orders instead of orders in the diner. The waitress tried to accommodate us but that didn't help. Which made our food cold sitting on the counter and inconsistent with people at our table of the food. The food is not from scratch and is basically reheat like school cafeteria food. Do not come here to eat. read more

I would not recommend stopping and eating here. It was a really unpleasant and disappointing experience after driving all day. We stopped at this cute little diner as it was good timing right before our hotel. As we walked in we saw a sign saying we have 1 cook and no servers please be patient, so we were prepared to wait a little more for our food and cut them some slack. We got our drinks promptly and saw you have to order and pay for your food via QR code. Did so and waited. Everything that came to us was a hot mess except for the kids' burgers which came wrong. (There's no option for hamburger but it lets you order a cheeseburger no cheese so can understand that miss). Mentioned to cook that they were meant to be plain hamburgers and he sorta just stares at us and asks if we need anything else. The kids didn't even get the fries for their meal. Figuring he wasn't planning to fix the kids food I mentioned my husband had actually ordered onion rings (had been served fries) so that was prepared and we doled out the fries to the kids. My "French dip with onion and mushroom" maaaaybe at least had meat and not much of it but that was a blessing as he'd needed a fresh batch of sauce but apparently made it super concentrated so it was unpleasant to eat. My husband ordered a sandwich which had haphazard slabs of meat and looked a mess but I guess was edible. It was unfortunate that I tipped nicely ahead of time cause I felt bad they were so short staffed. Couldn't expect a better place for breakfast. Stopped overnight at Baymont Hotel on our way Glacier National Park, the restaurant is at the same property. We got a coupon for a free coupon for small breakfast. The place is open 24x7; nice,small and cozy. a traditional dinerThe small break is actually quite big and comes with options. If I had to rate this in one sentence it would be... If this was the only place to eat for 1000 miles you would be better off starving!!! How is this 3.5 stars? This place is awful to say the least. If you decide to eat here, do NOT watch them make your food. This may cause you to lose your appetite or throw up. Food is coming straight out of the freezer (freezer burned). They go from dropping meat patties to making cold turkey sandwiches without changing gloves. They served boxed mashed potatoes straight from the microwave (still cold). I wanted to like this place. Came in with party of 6 for late breakfast. Drinks ordered, mostly coffee and water- after they had to wipe down the only table fit for our group because all others were dirty. Kids ordered milkshakes - the one girl serving the whole place made the shakes - sticky dripping down the sides- and handed them to the kids with no napkin, spoon, nothing. Huge mess. All this is before she takes a food order- so we're now ~20 min in and finally ordering food. Breakfast is fine, high priced eggs but tasted ok. Now the state of the restaurant- filthy. A literal giant hair ball was under the booth, which tells you how often the floors are NOT swept or mopped. Upon closer inspection, every surface is dirty. With some cleaning and service rigor this could be so much better. Will not be back. read more

Got the mushroom burger. Very simple bland burger.. I would be more satisfied with a McDonald's dollar menu burger than this $11 burger.

We sat and watched our food being prepared and the cook never changed his gloves. He went from putting raw hamburger patties on the grill to preparing a side salad. He had raw egg on his hand and wiped it on his jeans and continued to keep touching everything. He put raw bacon on stove and continued to prepare hamburger buns. Again all this with never changing his gloves. There needs to be some definite training in regards to food safety. read more

When I sat down I immediately noticed the amount of flies flying around me. I didn't mind the extra company, but I was hesitant to talk after a fly had flown into my mouth during conversation. The ice tea that I got was rich with flavor, I highly suggest only getting their unsweetened iced tea with specifically 2 lemon slices. The flies also seemed to enjoy my beverage, as they flocked to my drink as if it were an oasis in a desert. As I was waiting for my single waffle to be done, I looked up and inspected the light hanging above me and saw that there was a big pile of dead insects (hopefully just flies) inside of the light. I thought this was amusing, as originally when I had glanced at the light before I thought it was just a black thing that was apart of the light. There was also even more flies outside, trying desperately to break through the window to get to my drink. (I'd assume, as this seemed to be the goal of every fly in the area) My waffle arrived, and it smelled like vanilla. I couldn't wait to share this treasure with my new fly friends! The waffle was a perfect golden color, and tasted and felt exactly like eating one of those store bought ice cream cones- but without the sweetness. I think actually putting maple syrup on it would've improved my eating experience. My bad. Some guy was complaining about not being able to get sweet tea, but to be honest it was probably good he couldn't get it. He looked like he had enough sugar anyways. Unfortunately the flies didn't seem to like the waffle, as only one had actually ever landed on it, compared to the drink which had many more than I could count. The service was great, the lady was very attentive and we didn't have to wait long for our meal. This place looks like a classic diner on the outside so we decided to pop in on our way out of Glendive. We didn't realize that the restaurant also serves as the front desk reception area to the adjacent hotel. Our server was friendly and our breakfasts arrived fairly quickly. My husband and I both ordered veggie based breakfasts with hash browns and eggs. I just want to warn everyone, that they include jalapeños in their basic veggie mix that goes into several of their menu items, which was not clear to us on the menu. We love spicy, but we ended up having to pick many of the peppers out of our meals because we were both sweating! I feel that jalapeños are a fairly personal choice and not something that should be included as a matter of routine, but that's my own opinion. However, that being said, the breakfasts tasted delicious. It would be nice if the meals weren't as pricey too.. read more

The venue here is fun, clean, new and comfortable. Good luck finding a seat if it's busy, it's a little small. I found the prices a little high for what you get, but that's fair, just not a deal. Fill up more then 3 booths and clearly the wait staff cannot handle. I waited forever plus a day just for my check. Quality of food was par for the course. Some items good, some needing attention (my brown lettuce). Would I come back? Depends. Am I hungry and don't want to drive any further? This place gets the job done. read more

Small town. Stop by for a night at this nice hotel, "Oak Tree Inn". To check in, you have to come in this small diner. It's neat for folks to come here and enjoy their meal. This service is running 24/7 since it is next to this hotel. This town is nothing. So I had a late dinner and a breakfast in the next morning. I had a crispy chicken sandwich with tater tots for dinner and it was not bad. Actually, it was ok. I had egg scrambled with bacon, sausage, and ham inside, hash brown, and a piece of pancake. Breakfast meal was much better tasty than I had for dinner. Unfortunately, pancake was ok and hard to cut each piece... Both meals got my stomach satisfied, but my taste wasn't good enough.
