With several beer options and being new to the area, I had to try a local beer and opted for the stout. Great choice. Our server was excellent. We asked her about the name and she told us they have been around since the 1960's! Whaaaaat? The name has just been passed down through owners. This is as one of the best burgers I've ever had. It was delicious! It had a big fried green tomato and vinaigrette. The fries had great flavor and texture. The Roy Rogers is why I love stopping at the small town, locally owned establishment. This is a great place to eat, and the locals are very friendly. I got to meet the town mayor and a couple of his pals and we had an awesome conversation. Thank you for the great food and atmosphere! I hope to be back someday soon.

It feels new there and it was probably remodeled recently inside, with fresh paint and a very nice knotty pine. There's the bar, which takes up most of the space and a separate, smaller dining area. We had a couple of salads: taco and southwest, both fresh, crisp and delicious, served with salsa. The real stars of the show were the ribbon fries: deep fried, spiral-cut potato chips, golden brown and as good as they look. Someone from a company we work with in the area had been in town for months and become a regular here, so my 2nd visit was even better. Grab a Cold Smoke Scotch Ale on tap for an excellent Montana-local beer on tap. Other good beers on tap are available if you want to stray from there. On my 1st visit, someone recommended the tenderloin steak tips, so I decided to save the famous pizza for the 2nd visit. Good call - the steak tips were solid. Wish I could remember what else I ordered. On 2nd visit (with regular leading the way), we went with the cheeseburger pizza, which sounded kinda weird, yet... gotta try something new, soooo... we did! And it was awesome. So good - never had anything like it before. Got cheese curds on the side, which were also stellar. Dined in both times, enhancing the piping hot and fresh experience vs taking something back to the room. Not sure if dining with a regular got me a 5-star experience or if it's always that awesome, but I've thought about this bar several times since I went... so that merits a solid review. I'll definitely be back when I'm back in town.
