Very family friendly and full of people enjoying dinner, The Gust Hauf has a full beer lineup and lots of pizza options. They have other items on the menu but we were just interested in pizza. With several beer options and being new to the area, I had to try a local beer and opted for the stout. Great choice. Our server was excellent. We asked her about the name and she told us they have been around since the 1960's! Whaaaaat? The name has just been passed down through owners. On our previous layover in Glendive a week earlier we had Chinese takeout so we decided on Mexican this time. There aren't too many options in Glendive. We ordered up the usual suspects - tacos, enchiladas, etc. I had the carne asada which was pretty good. It was compromised of a couple of slices of thin, tough and flavorful skirt or flank steak plus refried beans, rice and guacamole as well as three flour tortillas. It was quite good. Everyone else in our group enjoyed their meals also except for the dogs who got their usual ration of kibble. If you are in Glendive, I would recommend Mexico Lindo.

I visited the Subway located inside the Flying J truck stop and I was thoroughly disappointed. The…read moreservice was lackluster and the staff seemed more focused on penny-pinching than customer satisfaction. I asked for two small cups of garlic aioli, something that should be a simple request. Instead, I was told they couldn't give me two because "that sauce costs $7 a bottle." It's baffling to think that the owner of Flying J is worth around $4 billion, and yet these employees are trying to save him a few cents on sauce. It's just a little garlic aioli! I expected better service and a more customer-friendly attitude, especially in a place that's frequented by travelers. If they're this stingy about sauces, I can only imagine how they handle other aspects of their business. Overall, a disappointing experience that I won't be repeating.
