I've already written a review on Facebook and that was a "2" or "Fair" rating. A lot of good reports on this place encouraged us to give it a try. We had three meals - 2 adults and a child. My meal - The Tennessee Chicken - was very good and large enough to share. My better half ordered fish that was overcooked and too tough to eat. We sent it back and it was removed from the bill. We asked to speak with the manager but were told there was none but that the owners and chef had left for the evening. The child's meal was just fine. We spoke to someone who was supposed to be the sister of the owner and she said she would make the chef aware of our concerns.
What stands out, however, is after making our review on Facebook we received not an apology but a scolding of sorts - via Facebook reply - from someone claiming to be the chef at the restaurant. One can understand pride in ownership to a point but when you are arguing with a customer, who was served an inedible meal, after the fact via Facebook post...something is more than amiss.
Although we won't be going back - essentially because the attitude we received after our Facebook reviews - there are a lot of people local and otherwise that have patronized and enjoyed this restaurant. Who knows, maybe we got a bad night? I certainly hope so. Coldwater, Ohio is a nice little town with wonderful people. The night we were there - 08-19-2017 - it was busy and near the end of the evening (about 8:30 pm)...the folks at the neighboring table lingered for a long time...they appeared comfortable there and perhaps were regulars.
If you go, I would recommend the Tennessee Chicken...get the large size and the buttered potatoes are a delicious compliment to it. If you order fish I would - after our experience - call any problems to the attention of a member of staff right away and hopefully the chef will be there and see what you are talking about and make things right straightaway.
Goodluck!-24

I received the following message via Facebook Private Message from The Grill on Main. I thought, in fairness, that I should post their reply. Here it is:
"sorry to hear about your poor experience. We will take your advice. I tell them to remove plates and check back after two bites. They don't always listen. We don't have a chef and my daughter Garah is a manager. I left at 9:20 pm because 13 hours is along shift and we do it over the next day so I wanted get off my feet. We normally don't get complaints on our seafood. I'm sorry we disappointed you. I will talk to Bryanna and the rest of the staff on your suggestions. We lost a lot of help do to college so we are in a hurt for trained help. We are talking to someone about management so we hope that helps. Once again I apologize again."

I received the following additional communication from "Lisa" at the Grill on Main via Facebook Private Message. In fairness, again, I feel I should post her reply. The referenced apology is regarding Facebook comments, to my original review, made by Patrick Rosenbeck's Facebook Account. Here is the most recent reply from The Grill on Main:
"Sorry for the late response. Once the weekend hits I don't have time to look at Facebook. I'm not sure who wrote on behalf of Patrick as his phone came up missing last weekend. No one is confessing. I do apologize from that awful response. We do not conduct ourselves that way. Please apologize to your wife for us. Sincerely Lisa Rosenbeck Owner of grill on main." read more
